04 Hey, you love them two such Sure, I'm from Woe. Why wake up America. It's time for the Adventures of pipe Man on W four cy dot com West Palm Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, The White Man Walks Far Stars pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here Webb Iron Altar tell Us and hey, I'm Lenden's is a good nice here at bloodstock Man. That's so cool. It's very exciting. Someone who's been on our wish list since we started as a band to get a slow here, So it's it's finally happened for us. So now that's been on your wish lists and you're here, is it everything it lived up to in your head? Well, we've no played yet, but I'm certainly hoping. So it's got a pretty good slot. We're on just as Megadeth are setting up and you go ten, So hopefully a lot of passing traffic and we can draw some people in.
25 Do there be Sweatbox? From what I heard, that's exactly what will happen. I love that stage actually, man, to me, that's the best stage. It's fucking like so intimately cool and you do draw in from every other stage as they're walking across. Yeah, it's kind of when you look at the stage, it means we of an old little school kind of floor show we used to do way back in the day and nold subway and little clubs around in brother it's cool. Yeah, it's it's uh, we're we're on, like I think when when zeal And arder on as well. So it's us and damn So if you don't like them, comes to us. Yeah, you know whatever, nobody. Yeah, it's like people are gonna be out there. It'll be I've seen this before, let me go check them out. That's we're hoping for it. I mean, we're a totally different thing as well. We're just like intense riffs, like we've got dynamics up and down, fucking spells and beer like it'll be it'll be good fun, so nice. So that is good for you too, because I feel bad for bands to have similar music to the bands are playing at the same time, because there's playing people that may not be into that band, and now they come to see your band, oh for sure. Yeah yeah, like and that was it. It's like we've been working on new ship for a long time. We've got a new album coming out on the twenty ninth of September. We've dropped a couple of singles off it. We've got all this new stuff we've you know, we're working on it through lockdown. We went and recorded it and now it's finally like we're playing blood Staff. We got a whole load of shows right up till the end of the year.
54 We're onto your here it is and it's finally out in the world, you know what I mean. So what a great place to you know, debut that new music to people. Right for sure. We couldn't couldn't ask for bad Spot. So yeah, ha, had it even happen, had you end up on the year stage? I think our guitarist Dan, who does love our booking and stuff. He's been hot. He hustled Simon Hall like for years to be like yo yo, like we want we want to play Like yeah, yeah, okay, well we'll think about it maybe next year. And then we we sent him an advance of the record when we were we finished just at the start of the year, and he was like he was like, oh yeah, this is sick okay, bok and I was like, solid, there you go. So and that's the what I've heard is like they listen to your music and if you're a badass, you play.
43 And I think we've upped our game now as well, and with this new album, and like you know, we put a lot of what sweating two years and money and all that shit into it. So it's like we Yeah, He's like, oh yeah, this is this is uh yeah, come play nice? So what you and do the top this after this? Yeah, like we haven't got there yet. Yeah, I'm sure it'll be even gnarlier. It'll be heavier and more horrible sounding. And yeah, I like the idea of horrible sounding. It sounds good to me. Dynamics we want. I want to go from here to here and everything in between. You know. So nice? So when did this all come about in your guy's lives where you're like, fuck, the only thing I ever want to do is music. Well, for me, that's been mo I've been a bunch since I was fifteen, them in my forties now, so it's something I've always done. And Linde's been seen you for a long time. And Buni who used to play a moo bunding but agreesable play and so yeah, I think it's something that you just you know, you you're always going to do really party, you're kind of if you're a lifer, you're like, oh yeah, I just yeah, you know, it's not a face.
47 Yeah. You know. What's funny about that is when people tell me, like listeners or fans are like, I used to be into metal, but not anymore. I'm like, then you were never into at Yeah, it's like you said, it's it's not a phase, okay. And if you consider listening to something like I don't know, some bullshit bam and calling that metal, they know you were never into me. Yeah, there's a yeah, there's something about like heaviness, you know, and stuff, and that's sort of the darkness and that that site of stuff that even like a pop band, oh we'll do a heavy part in our song, it's not fucking heavy. You don't get it, Like you can play the same notes but in it right exactly. It has to be inside your heart, you know.
31 It's it's a passion, you know. And it's a great release too. It's great therapy for you guys as the artist and me as the listener. For sure. It's kept me seeing through the years. For certain some of the hardest times I've had, no doubt it keeps you alive, is no doubt, partly being in a band bolt like you say, having the music to listen to, like other bands that you've grown up where that have got you through hard times, and then you get to finally see them a show and or even I even got a support s playing with them, and it's just it makes positive changes. Dar Like, Yeah, so I what's the craziest thing that's happening to you guys in your whole musical journeys. Craziest thing? I mean. I was on tour in Ireland with an old band and our our van blew up at three am on the motorway between Dublin and Limerick and we were stranded. It's like one of those stories. Probably we were stuck. I had to wait four hours on the side of the road, towed by some old Irish farmer. Two hours back to the garage and he's like, oh yeah, that that engine's cooked. Boys, And to cancel last show tour, I had to fly home. I had to get all our gear like burried back. It's like, you know, those shitty times, they get you through it. But that's metal too, right there, Like everyone has that. Yeah, that's the light. We played an awesome show that night as well, and it was a melt down afterwards.
00 Yeah, how about you. Most of men has just been whilst me and other members of the bands have been so intoxicated that there's very little memory of it. And you get shown some photograph I have evidence that you hanging over a stairwell, spew and frozen motion, dropping down to the floor, and you're you're supposedly meant to remember that occurred. No idea, It was just a couple of points. I just had a couple of points. I have no idea, that's all. How did I How did I wake up under the van in the car park? I have no idea. Wow, I love it. There's always lots of stories there is and there that's the beauty of this. So is there one band when you're really young that like they just blew your mind, that that maybe led to you being so into music, not even just playing, just hearing it. When when I was a kid, a big one for me and a lot of the pot to grew up in Pennic it was Pantera just in the early day. The cowboys from Hellier just kind of just open up my brain to a heavy band can be.
01 And I think it was a lot to do with the groove that they had and the fact that Phil's vocals, I mean, an old Basis that may always called Panta entry level metal. It's made me laugh, but I kind of know what he was saying. It's one of the bands that you can hear what the vocal is saying, but it's still heavy, so they aren't away a gateway. But yeah, they did change my because before that it was like Guns and Roses and Bong Jovi and Queen and Maiden and stuff, which are most of them are fair enough but not metal. And someone gave me like a tapeus out with Cowboys from Helen and I went, what the fuck is this right? That would for me? And then separate. I got a copy of a Rise I think it was after that, and oh it gets like this wow, And then that was the gateway and they're just going right and here we are. Yeah. I think the gateway for me was Sliot, probably when I don't know, thirteen or whatever, you know, and I got the there you go there you go, that's the hoodie from my daughters. Yeah, there you go, that's actually saying right, and they are and it's all about all the kids like me who grew up and I think this was one of their their their gateways or now you were like in Bonds, you know. Yeah, one of the biggest melts the world still and they're still great. And that was that was my entry from yeah into like more extreme music. I suppose, Well it's cool for me. A couple of years ago, right after the lockdown is so, I do all kinds of festivals. I was at the one festival it was
33 the return of mud vein their first show in twelve years, and them and Slipknot we're heading that festival. And the last time I saw those two bands together were nineteen ninety nine Ozzfest third stage. Imagine Slipknot the whole band being on a stage smaller than the Yager stage. Yeah right, And I was just sitting there at this thing and I was like, oh my god, these guys are the fucking most awesome, energetic, powerful ever. Yeah they were. They were like, yeah, there was nothing like that, no, not at all. So what's going on after Bloodstock. How are you gonna top this? Yeah, we're on. We've dropped two singles off the new record. We've got another one coming out on the first of September, Hunted, and then the whole album is out on the twenty ninth of September on trep Nation Recordings. We're on tour for the rest of the year around the UK and we're heading to Ireland for four shows with Grace Stag. Friends are from Dublin. I'm gonna say Dublin. We'll stick with that Irish at least it might be the right country. Yeah, they're not from the North anyway, but yeah, yeah, we're doing that and then we're playing shows right till the end of the year, and then next year we are hoping
03 we're booking stuff, so we'll hopefully have it's maybe a big support tour and then more festivals again next summer. So yeah, nice, excited for everything coming up. I love it. And how do people connect to you guys on socials? On the web? Every day by your marm You have a digital device, a computer of some sorts. You can type iron altar into any search engine and you will find all of information that you will possibly desire every major platform. I'm a weird off. We have some kind of prisons there anywhere you like to stream stuff, and you can check us out on YouTube and all that good stuff. And I'm big about artwork, like album cover artwork and stuff, and I love, love, love that, and you have it on Business Garden, which is even fucking Coloy. Well that's you can listen to the whole record there, and that shout out to Kelvin Doran who's done that artwork for us, and a bunch of March as well.
58 Yeah, it's pretty cool. Yeah, I bet you have some badass merch because looking at that, that's what I think, badass merch. Yeah, and we'll have three different sort of designs by Calvin All you know of different album inspired stuff. Cool. And I always say people can't listen to my show, and let's say buy your fucking merch. Thank you sow any where you guys survived nowadays? Why not? Right exactly? So we've often said we are traveling T shirt salesman with a gimmick. Is a live heavy metal show. It's not a bad gimmick to have, you know, any final words you want to leave our listeners with that we haven't covered a rate that they need to know. A thing I would say is if you have Buns in your local seene you've heard the name of and you've not checked them out, Yeah, go and give them a listen because it could be the future of the music for the whole of the world. You never know, and that's the only way the bunds get from the siege that everybody starts out to this stage. Everybody wants to be it. That's true. Absolutely support your local scene, drink beer, smash everything. I like that. That's the best final words right there. Smash everything that's metals. I've done that.
09 That's it. There's nowhere else we could go. Drop the mic. Thanks a lot for being here at Bloodstock, and thanks for being on the Adventures of pike Man. Thank you, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man on W four CUI Radio.
