04 Hey, you have done to censure. I'm for see wow crazy young Why become America. It's time for the Adventures of White Man on W four C Why dot Com West pomp Beats is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the whipe Man. Why what's the thoughts of summerbra sound rash?
04 This is pipe Man here on the Adventures fight MANW four CY Radio. And I'm here with land In from Imperial Side. Nice and you just played here at Welcome to Rockville. Yes, sir, so we were talking before you. Your band must have extreme luck because we're here in Florida. We're as hot as frickin' hell to play. The sun beats down on you. You want to die, and there's never a breeze unless there's a hurricane. That's what I hear. You know, we're Vegas boys, so one hundred and twenty degrees in the summer is nothing new to us. But you know, and it's a little moist tires. It's right. I was feeling good, you know, So this is this is beautiful. We played Rockville in twenty twenty one, but that was the post pandemic here where they brought it back and I believe it was in the fall. Yeah, yeah, you know it was beautiful. I mean I had to wear in November, which nomber perfect time in Florida. Yeah, I have never I don't. I've know.
07 This is the furthest I've come. I've told I told them last time, Like Daytona's the furthest I've been from Las Vegas in my life, you know. So like to see this and come out this far and like it's just beautiful. I'm happy to be here. I got to see some anites. It's like everything that I could ask for. There you go, And I'm gonna be in your neck of the woods in two weeks for punk Rock Bowling. Yes, that's our legendary events thrown every year. You know, headliners this year are crazy. I think it's descendants Madness Divo, Yeah, Divo sick right. Yes, A couple of the guys are going to be out there and enjoying themselves. The rest of us gotta head around. So you know what's cool is as a long term metal head since the early eighties, well seven late seventies, but it started going to shows in the in the in nineteen eighty. We weren't allowed to like a band like Divo then right, you know, like if you your friends would give you so much shit. So I'm so pumped to be able to go see Devo and not be embarrassed about it. And I've been noticing and that we like if you look at the festivals and the way that the the genres are blending on these things. You know, like we have jelly Roll, we have right Limp Biscuit, we have ICP, we have Tech nine, we have Carrie King.
24 Yeah, you know, so the way that this all is going across and then they're championing these young heavy bands too that are like carrying that energy of like hardcore and like heavy metal through I think it's a great space for us. All the BEAUTI oh, I love that we do combine. And I think it makes for better music too, because you know, it was getting to a point where metal specifically, it was getting like an algebraic equation like every I remember being in the eighties and my parents or other parents would say, oh, that music all sounds the same, and I used to argue with them, no, it doesn't, because it didn't. You know, a Slayer in a Metallica and Megadeth all possessed. They all sound different, right, you know, and but nowadays I feel like I'm talking like my parents, like, oh, these bands sound same. Except when you have the bands that the members all have different influences from different genres, then you create something unique and new. And I think that's freaking metal. I think that's our strongest trait as a band, the group of us, all five of us collectively, we have very few bands that well that we all agree on. And then from the most part, all of us have separate influences nice you know, like Keen loves big like European metal, like Till and people like that, and then Russell and I are big limp biscuit corn fans. Tanner is deep into the hardcore like underground bands that he loves Kobla
55 Khan loves, Gideon loves these like speed bands like that. So we we kind of all bring that flavor. And then we just love metal, you know, We love we love the energy we get to do, we get to have at these festivals. So it all somehow gets channeled through a level of aggression that brings us to our our our space and metal, you know. And as we were saying before, you got super lucky today because there was a nice breeze while you were playing. The sun didn't even come over to stage yet. Dude, like paradise and we seem to be pretty lucky every festival that we played. We played Dallas, Texas, middle of the summer, and it was in a baseball stadium, and the shadow of the stadium happened to fall on us. When we played after Shock, we got to play at night. When we played here, it was you know, perfect. I was. I was genuinely worried because you know, everybody we get told make sure you drink water, make sure you're hydrated, You're gonna sweat, and like I already sweat. I'm already dehydrated. What do you mean? So it was great. I'm happy that we got a great day.
58 It looks like we're gonna have a great weekend, and I'm happy to be here to enjoy the day. Today. I get to set's done early, so I get to get start drinking and enjoying myself a little early. There you go, you got the whole day ahead of yet party. Last show we played after Shock, we had a ten thirty set after Corn finished, so it was a long, sober day, just waiting for the performance to get through. And so what other DWP festivals have you played besides after Shock and Rockville. So as of now, just after Shock and Rockville that are done. We've played twenty twenty one rock but we did twenty twenty three after Shock and now twenty four Rockville again this year. We're in the conversation to hop our way onto a couple more. We just have a great working relationship with the booking and talent team at DWP. There's some of the greatest people. They are championing us as a young man. We owe our discovery, our record contract to a media thing that DWP used to do during the pandemic called Spacy. He's a twitch show and we were discovered on that.
02 We competed on that. It's how we got Rockville, It's how our record label hurt us and everything we've built as a band has come through the lens of DWP putting us on a pedestal. So we are very appreciative to all of that. You know, Danny Wimmer is pretty good at that, because that's like a that's a that's a story that goes around a lot with a lot of bands. Is like just how he discovers them and just nurtures them like they're his children. He's one of the best dudes on this planet. He is. It treats me like when he's like, dude, this fucking sucks or this is great, or he tells you as it is. And that is so appreciated in a world full of fluff. And I owe it to a lot of people in the backbone of DWP, you know, the talent team, believing in us, Dell and Kyle and people that are all throughout. I mean, you know, like their marketing team is a is a great group of people. Everybody seems to be appreciative of what we do because we try to show them the same amount of appreciation. So yeah, and like I do festivals all over the US, UK, Europe, and I could say, hands down the one I like working and doing press coverage.
09 The best are all at DWP festivals because it's just so organized, so professional, and it just it's the way it should be run. Yes, it's it's so nice in a world full of craziness, you know, madness. We've participated in other shows and other festivals where you're like, I'm getting out of here. As soon as we're done because there's nothing to do. It's like, no, you know, no amount of support to you after you're there, and it's like, Okay, this is a great show. But also it's the same thing as if we played a ballroom or anything like that, and it's when you're on the road, any level of like care shown to you is always appreciated. So especially when you get somewhere like this and I'm inside Daytona Speedway right now, I know how rad that's that?
52 Dude? Raise hell, praised dale, you know what I mean? And this is like my I brought my parents out to come here because I used I watch NASCAR with my dad, you know, and to be here and do and see these things as something that I just won't take for granted. You know, what's trippy is like when you see it on TV, it's one thing, But when you're on that speedway in real life and that wall, it's so it's like, how are they driving on there? It's my ankles just trying to like stand on it, let alone, trying to if I could imagine doing one thirty through the corner, you know, I know, right, And I have my skateboard with me last year. I asked Christine, I'm like, you think I'll lose my media pass if I Sunday skateboard on the thing, and like, yeah, I know, I'll break my arm or something, but it'll be worth it, exactly. We all have insurance for a reason. Now I just do it Sunday after the day's done, and then that's time. Somebody was telling me on the Artist Transport was telling me about somebody who had done that and then got kicked out.
50 But you know that guy got to do That's a very few amount of people. I think Tony Hawk did that recently and really yeah, I don't know if it was here or Vegas, but it was like when they repaved one of the speedways. It showed like him, like Kurt carving and dropping in nice the inner child and he wants to do that. The thirty year old that knows that I will, what I'll feel like tomorrow knows better. So yeah, I don't know better yet, Yeah I got that's enough times. I used to skate amateurly, I won't say professionally, but it was like on Flow and did that. It was really like, that's what I thought my life was going to be. Before music was skateboarding, and those injuries still exist. I'm feeling it still. So yeah, they do they And so what what made the transformation into music. The group of people that I have around me, The boys that I'm in a band with right now, Imperial Tide, the three of us, Keen and Tanner and I were in a band together in high school. We met through my space. We had just kind of all of the stars aligned and happened to cross baths. Two other buddies that I was friends with, were like, we're we want to start a band. We're like, all right, well, let's do it.
01 We had a garage in the backyard that mom didn't care how loud we were, and we played for years and through that just camaraderie and getting into playing shows and getting into the local scene of Vegas and growing with all the artists that were growing in Vegas at the time. We just kind of felt the spark of all that, you know, And that's and that runs true now. I caught the bug at fourteen, and I never wanted to leave this business. You know, as hard as it is, it's just so much fun, you know. It truly is like something that I when it's like being a professional athlete, you know, Like that's the only thing that I compare it to. Right now, I'm just our bands in you know, double A, triple A. We're ready. We're ready to make it to the big leagues. And when we get to come here, it's like getting called up to the big leagues and getting that opportunity to show up and show out, and that's what we are always happy to do. What a great way to put it, because it's so true, and you know it is. I love that you said as hard as it as hard as it is, because I bet you there's people out there, and we know there's people out there that look at you as a band and like, oh they're living the life because all they see is the good part. Yeah, you know, they don't see I got it all the time, even as a radio person going on tour and doing these oh you live the life, Like you should see what I'm doing the rest of the day exactly. You know.
20 It's like, you know, before my photographer here or she was going out, I'm like, yeah, I gotta get some computer work done because I still have to do some stuff for the interviews and the festival. Yeah, all that they don't know about the forty emails I had to answer and go back and forth with to get to the point of getting to this festival, right or you know, and like, how can I complain about emails? I know, right, And that's why I don't. I'm just happy to do whatever it takes to get here. If it's a six and a half hour flight, if it's our luggage, our wireless luggage was lost on the flight here, and we had to go back to Orlando Airport at nine point thirty this morning and get so our guys showed up on We went on it twelve thirty. Our guys showed up at twelve just through getting to the airport, getting our gear, doing everything, you know, we got in yesterday. And it's just you know, by any means necessary, and that's just why we're here there, it is. That's life. Tell everybody, I connect with you guys on socials, on the web, how to buy your merch most importantly, yeah, check out everything else we love when you buy merch. We anywhere you find Imperial Tide, it's just Imperial Tide Imperialtide dot com. We put out a debut EP with mascot records called existence in crisis. We're just here to have a good time, you know, and enjoy ourselves. So if you if you ever catch us in your city or anything like that, we're here for the rage. Nice. I love it, Love that you killed it here at Rockville. Thank you, and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day. And I'll have to see you at Punk Rock Bowling maybe, yes, sir, all appreciate you, you
