04 Hey you love than too, sus. Sure, I'm come from for see why for you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on w f CY dot com. West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man w for c Y Radio and I'm here with a member of Keetya. Nice to meet you, Nice to meet you. Welcome to Bloodstock. Thank you so lovely to be here. Amazing weather, and it's our first UK festival ever, even though we played many times in the UK. So really stoked for for everything about this amazing festival.

11 Everything just sounds so fresh. Yeah still, but I guess it's still the second or the first actual day of festival with the main stage opening today, right, Yeah, yesterday was the short day and today it's the real day. Yeah, everyone is still quite fresh. I guess, yeah, it's the real day only because you guys are playing. We'll see. So yeah, I mean, I love this festival. I go and I tour and I do all kinds of festivals all over the US. Here, this one's one of my favorites because everything you just said it's just like we're a family community just the way it's it's big, but it's small at the same time, you know, right, it's not like we go to a lot of these big German festivals like fucking of course, we can't compare some of the things, but it's everything just sounds so complicated sometimes. Of course it's lovely to play all these festivals, but we just love festivals where you just gotta be in one place and everybody's there. You don't need to go around to find everybody, so everything is just compressed. And festivals like this it's just amazing because we can hang around even though we're not staying for long after our show we need to fuck off to to another festival, at least for the three or four hours we'll be here, we can well meet you know people and see you know friends and kick our ass. We'll see, we'll see, we'll try. So also kind of cool tidbit you'll like, is that. And so I'm going home to States. I flew here on air Portugal, all right, and so I purposely, because I've been there before,

45 I purposely scheduled a very long layover so I can hang out in your home country there because I love that. Yeah, I went there last I went there last year to go surf because I'm a surfer. Oh yeah, is today I was in Lisbon. I'm trying to remember. There's a there's a and I'm drawing a blank, a real popular surf spot near Lisbon, and I I can't remember right now. I did like drive up this thing and there there was an overlook. But my yeah, I think it's day. I think that. Yeah. I think two days ago there was a new record for I think it was this German surfer or something. He broke the hundred and fifteen feet. Yeah, he broke the McNamara record that he had like for ten years now. This massive fucking wave. Oh I saw that video. Somebody sent it to me. I was like, I wouldn't surf that way. I was watching him on the wave like this. I'm like, oh my god, he is good. And I mean every every footage of these waves is done for if shut from the the highest right, which is like when you which is at least three hundred three hundred meters above the beach, so it's pretty big. Yeah, And I was if you're underneath looking at this, like I would just pray that I don't live.

10 That's crazy. But and so I actually fell in love with your country and when I went there, because it's such a cool, chill vibe. Even it's funny because I don't drink wine, I don't like any of it. I was at some restaurant and the owner gave me a sample of their Portuguese wine. I was like, oh my god, I love this, and I never say that about wine. Yeah, there's a lot of shitty things about my country, but in terms of wine and food, we're pretty good. Absolutely. And the people, that's what I found. You know, everybody's super friendly, mostly with foreigners and foreigners that want to embrace the culture. We're always very friendly. Nice. So if you were to tell me, like one story good or bad in your music, world, festivals, whatever you've done that when you're like eighty years old, you're gonna remember and talk about what would they? Yeah, there's many, but there's we still we still got a few members that lived it. I think it wasn't our first do it Yourself or the second do it Yourself tour in Europe. We played. I don't know if you remember, there was this article or famous article and mental injections something like that of a goat that would go to see shows. I do know about that. I believe I didn't know about that that there was this uh it was a meme or something like that of it was a venue somewhere in Europe where a goat would go and see the shows.

40 And we played that venue. Apparently it's this community, like some sort of keepy punk community in the center of middle of nowhere in France. And we just got out there and this first of we're well flabbergasts by everything, like pooping on the floor, you know, and I was just fuck, okay, uh, let's see. And then the god was not there yet, was not there? She she she had passed away a few years before before that. But but we started to listen to this, to this uh stories about this corners. Oh fuck, we're at that place. Wow, Because I think the article was about this, uh. I think it was a Warm Rods playing somewhere in a cave and we played that specific place, and there's a lot of things about about that place. But I mean, it's just amazing to play all these festivals. But we we still recall the well two three years ago when we were just still starting out organizing our own, our own tours, because we wanted to be around, we wanted to go as as further as we could from from our country. Those stories of those places where they barely have a PA system and you just need to do whatever you can with whatever you got, we will never forget those those things because those are the special ones. It's not I mean, of course, if we play a really a really good show today, we'll never forget it.

08 But it's you understand, it's different. It's different. I mean, I remember playing with another band in this place called the meat Locker, Okay, and in the US, I think it was it in New York because there's a meat packing district in Manhattan. I'm from New York. I think he was Virginia or something like that, the place called the meat Locker. And I'm pretty sure a lot of a lot of your listeners will will will know this place. It's and it was well, filthy, disgusting, awful, but one of the best shows of that tour because people were fucking wild. So people don't take it for granted in those places, because you need to do whatever you have, whatever whatever you can with whatever you've got, So those are the most special shows, and those are for us the best ones. Yeah. Well that's like I was at the first ever cross of or show ever where he had punk and metal in the same place. On the punk side, it was Corrosion of conformity before Pepper, you know, when they were hardcore and suicidal before they crossed over. And I don't remember the third one. Then on the other side was Possessed Dark Angel and the Span Savage Grace, who was big back then not so much anymore. But it was at an Elks lodge. And let me describe what that is because you wouldn't know because you're not from the States. You ever watch like The Flintstones, Yeah, so you know the lodge he goes to. He's like the Graham poob on. That's what an Elk's lodge is, Okay. And

43 there was no security like for the first ever Punk and Metal together show where we used to kick each other's asses at gigs, no security, And it's so memorable to me because it was the most insane gig I ever was at that. I'm happy I got out alive. Yeah, there were people like diving off the rafters and ship I have a visual in my head of like just the place being insane. And then when I interviewed both Woodie and Mike from Corrosion, they're like, I said, I'm gonna tell you a story. You probably don't remember this gig and I talked about. I said, all I'd say is first crossover show. And they're like, is that Elks Lodge wasn't it? You just don't forget those days, those experiences. It's just cars in your memory, this filling of lawless lawlessness, you know, right, You'll never forget those places. And I mean I would go back to some of these places honestly and play a show or something like that.

46 I mean, I wouldn't mind. It's just amazing, I know, right. And that's what a lot of bands do when they're like warming up for a tour, you know. Yeah. I mean I had this girl's going out with shows at this place, little place smaller than this room, like maybe half the size of this room called Cheers and Fort Laurdale and then yeah, and they were sitting out and she's sitting outside. She's like, oh man, you gotta hear this Maiden cover band that's playing. They're amazing. And then she walks inside and she calls me. She's like, holy shit, it's Iron Maiden because they said, holy shit, it's She said, holy shit, it is Iron Maiden. It's not a Maiden cover band, like she thought it was an Iron Man cover band when she was outside, and it was them because Miko lives in Florida, so they were about to go on tour. So they played a show like a surprise shows there and that is amazing, right, And that's what you're saying, like you want to go back to those places like that because it is fun. Sometimes you miss those old club shows when you get big. Yeah, when you're there and you're doing it, you're just like, fuck, I just want to fuck off, right, But off to that, you just think of it as, oh, this was something fucking special. Goes off to the show and everybody's so fucking wild in this sweaty environment when you can't fucking breathe because it's so fucking thick out there, it's just amazing. We love those places.

09 Sometimes we still do a couple small shows to connect connect festival stuff like that. We even did it and this year to connect some festivals like Openhell. We pulled for the first time in Serbia in a boat and a small boat. It was just fucking wild because people don't take it for granted in place like like Serby or Croatia where a lot of a lot of a lot of two just don't go there, like grease and stuff like that. It's still still has a very concise metal community right there. Of course there's fans there and they whenever they got stuff going on there. I mean, we've just been to Istanbul. It was one of the wildest shows we ever did. It was we just felt like fucking rock stars. It was fucking great.

54 So such an amazing atmosphere in those places. And it's funny you said it's dambo because I I'd do a long lay over there from download back home. Yeah, and you know, as an American, some of some places we have this stupid image. Yeah, you know, we did as well. And I got there, I was like, this is a fucking amazing city. It is, and that airport, Jesus Christ, it was the city itself. Somebody told me there's an in ground pool in the airport. No, it's fucking great, it's fucking great. I mean, we're still doing We're still going to do a few shows like that this year. Some of them are not now so I can't talk about it. But we're still going to a few countries and never been before, in countries that are not known for having shows there. I mean, every once in a while there's a band that goes there for two months. So those are the ones that I actually get very hyped for because I know it will be amazing food, which is something we fucking love, so just right and try local stuff, and amazing atmosphere because people again don't take it for granted. They just they will just fucking go with everything they got energy wise, and the promoters are always amazing because again they want to show you that, all right, we don't do a lot of things because I mean, it's either a poor country or there's not a lot of motivation financially wise from the state stuff like that it's hard, or it's a complicated politically or religiously wise countries. We're gonna

24 show you that it's it's okay, I mean, it's and it's just great that some of these countries are doing these things like Turkey or I know, right, I mean, and I think it's amazing that you're going to these places like that makes you cool in my buff. Yeah, well we're turned to stable very soon. If it depends on us. I love it. I love it. So tell everybody how they can connect to you guys on socials, on the web, get your music, get your tour dates, and most importantly, by your merch Everything is just said. It's on our website gia dot com. Easy people can find uh, ticket links, merchandise, music, We're going, We're talking. I'm talking to you, so it's it's it's good to promote. We're going to the US. We're going to be backed in the US in October this year with Wolves in the Throne Room and Black Bread and Hoast. It will be a big tour with amazing bands and we're just very much looking forward to It's exactly what we're going to do right after this runt of festivals in August, go home, prepare, rehearse so we don't make full of falls of ourselves, and bring our a game to the US. I love it. I can't wait till you come to the US. It's gonna be badass.
