00 Hey, you listening to such Sure, I'm coming on for see why you wake up America. It's time for the adventure. So pipe Man on W four CWY dot com West Palm Beach is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, The white Man cool Way series six old. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures Pipeman W four c Y Radio, and I'm the your web Oh. This is Michael from Frozen Soul. We're here, bloodstock and fresh out the shower. Did you do this? I love it because it was freaking hot. To tell I live in Florida and it was hot here, okay, And for me to say that I wanted to go home to cool off, I fucking believe it. So did I. So I can't imagine being up there on the stage like that and you know, going balls out like you guys do in that heat. It's I'm always an awe of artists that they do that, because I mean, we're used to at this point. I mean we've all been doing this for like over ten to fifteen years, so I said, we're just used to it. We
30 played places are like way hotter, fucking dirty basements and like the I I venues with like no fucking a c in the middle of summer, so right, like we're just used to it, like we're rockers born and bread. There you go. I love it. So I gotta tell you something. You're gonna laugh. Whenever I go driving to a festival. When I was driving here today, whenever I go, I put on certain music to like get me pumped up. And of course we were gonna have the interview earlier, except yeah, venue and whatever. But I was like, they're my first interview. That's who I'm gonna listen to on the way, and man, you guys are badass. Thank you, man, I appreciate that.
12 What I loved about it, I'll tell you why I loved about it. So I'm old school. I went to a first Slayer show ever, went to a first Metallica show ever. I even went to the first crossover show ever. Okay, so imagine this. This is called the Sun Valley Sportsman's Lodge. It was an Elks lodge, which I don't know if you know what that is, but you're you're from Texas, right, Yeah, So it's like one of those like you know, like those men lodges like on the flint Stones with the Graham Puban Ship and uh so basically they had three punk bands, three metal bands. Before that, punks couldn't go to metal shows. Metal couldn't go to punk shows. No security on the metal side.
00 Possessed in the beginning, Dark Angel and this band Savage Grace, And I'm a thrash metal head. So you guys, while I'm listening to you, it reminds me of a cross between Possessed and Dark Angel, who are two of my favorite bands, by the way, Yeah, I mean me personally, I come from like thrash metal specifically, Like that's when I like really started getting in the middle, like I found like you know, Metallica Slayer of course, and then like Exitus is another big one, and of course a Dark Angel you know. So me personally, like I always have like that influence in the rifts that I write, and I love it because that's my kind of thing. Because you know, back then, you know, death metal and thrash was kind of separated, and you found a great way to combine the two into like this cool sound. So who's the death metal influence in the band? I mean? Also me, I mean, I love I love thrash. Don't get me wrong. But you know, of course, like as a metal head, you're like, I gotta find something heavier. I gotta find something heavier. And then one day I found Death and I was like, what the fuck is this? And then after like right after that, I found Cannibal Corpse and I was like, oh my god, my mind was just like just fucking blown. And so I had I had a really bad choice. I had to pick one time, and it was between seeing Cannibal Corpse and Metallica. And that's what was a hard choice. I couldn't they just play together. I don't know, someone
33 call Lars, Let's make it happen. I know, right, I don't know if we'll be able to do that because you know, uh, Lime Wire might not like it. So what you got going on after Bloodstock, Well, tomorrow we're going to Alcatraz. We'renna pay Alcatraz, and the Saturday we play at Party Song, and then after that we got about like a week left of shows, doing a couple other festivals, and then we're doing some like club dates with Converge, Terror and Gate Creeper and Health and a few other bands too, and then right when we get back home, we're just gearing up for our Wrecking Ball Metal Madness Fest, which is our annual like fessel we put on every year. And then after that we got a full headliner or full US headliner going on with the Tuner, Stab Wounds, Judiciary and Tribal Gays, and we just announced like yesterday or the day before.
25 Wow. Nice. So you play it over here, you play obviously in the US. How do you compare it to too well? They both have like their pros and cons, Like, so one big con for me for Europe is everything here as small as fuck. I'm a big dude. I'm a really tall guy, and so I hit my head on something like every fucking day. I heard my head The van we're in, the bunks are like way too small and uncomfortable, like I can, we can barely fit in them. But the one thing about like Europe that's awesome is the hospitality. Like they just take care bands so good over here, and it's not like that in the States. Basically in the States, venues are just like fuck, you eat shit and die, give me all your money.
09 You know. I get the same shit as press. Like I go on tour and I do all these music festivals I leave here, I go back and I'm gonna be doing rock Lahoma and Blue Ridge and Louder than Life and riot Fest and Aftershock, And then when I come over here, I'm like, I love it here because they treat press like the really press. They treat artists like the really artists, you know, and they know that we're all part of one machine that all has to work together to make this happen. Yeah, exactly. In a lot of European countries, like see like things like music and art as like cultural enrichment, and it's something that like is like positive for society, so they like really you know, try to make a point to like really let it flourish. Over here and the States, everything's just about like money, money, money, Let's make money, you know. Yeah, let's take arts and music out of schools. That's the stupiest thing I ever. Oh, it's you know, because and I think music is the best therapy. So now you're taking music out of schools and people are having more mental issues, gain angry, shooting people. Maybe that's the solution right there. Put more music in schools, give the people escape. I'm sure for you, I know for me, there's times where metal has saved my life and most metal heads you talked to it's the same thing. Oh for sure, man, that's why we're here and we're one big family. And how was it out there today? How was the crowd?
33 Oh? Dude, it was fucking awesome. So not only is that like the biggest crowd we've ever played to you so far, but that was like the best crowd we've ever played to you. Nice, just like the Gigantic Circle PI. Lots of people, crowdsurfing, lots of crowd interaction. It was super fucking sick. I love it. Who's uh? If you were to have one dream band to tour with, who would be? Oh? Man, that's tough. I know I got bank at pick one. I mean probably for me it would be Death just because I'm I'm a huge Chuck showing their fam I mean I even got the fucking pull the plug t too. Like Death is just like one of my all time like biggest guitar influences personally, even though Chuck's not here anymore, it would just be like fucking amazing to you know, be able to tour with him. It would be cool. I actually have an old that I've had for I don't know how many years a death album, you know that, Like I have the real deal an album vinyl yep. So how do people connect with you on socials on the web by your merch because that's important. Man, bands cannot survive today without march. Lars was right, like everybody makes fun large.
39 No, you're absolutely right, Like, you know, I think the way that Lars kind of approached it was he was kind of a not so good guy about it, like kind of an asshole, but he was absolutely correct. You know, you can find us on all the socials, Twitter or I guess now it's called X and that's stupid. Elon Musk. What the fuck are you doing? Yeah, we're on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, all Frozen soult X and then Frozen Soultx dot com is our website. That's where you can find merch, tour info and find all our socials as well. Nice. If you were to tell one story, good or bad, in this musical journey you've been on, what would be Oh that's a tough one one story. Let me think, man, that's tough. I mean, I can tell you a story about how we got over here to this hell. Oh man, so we fucking So the very first European tour we did, we tried to leave a day or at least we could get here just to the jet lag. Well that didn't happen because there was a huge I storm in Texas and our flight got canceled. So we showed up to the airport barely made our flight, showed up and played a show like right after getting off the fucking plane. Well, on this tour, we tried to do the same thing. Well, oh, let's get to the airport a day, let's get to Europe a day early, try to relax a little bit. That didn't happen. So we get over here, our flights are just delayed, and they're delayed so much that we're like missing flights, and when we show up, like when we finally show up, our gears missing, like our guitars, our symbols, and some of our luggage too,
11 And then we had to play culminator with like out any of our gear, and it was like really awkward and like kind of uncomfortable, but you know, we ended up pulling through and we got all our stuff back thankfully nicely. Yeah, that always sucks when that happens. At download, I was interviewing Blowthar, and he actually came out and did the interview with no costume. Nobody knew who he was though, because the same thing they lost all our costumes and ship. They had to change the set time because of it. Yeah, it just happened to Necro Gobblicon in the US. They lost like twenty thousand dollars worth of their gear and ship. I'm pretty sure it happened to Trivium coming over here, but I might be getting a band mix up. But just in this past like month alone, so many bands of just like all their ships just missing. Like these airlines are just like fucking up. Happened too much. Well another thing too is, at least as far as I know, there's a couple of airlines over here in the Europe where the workers are striking. Yeah, so you know, more power to him. But at the same time, it's like fuck man, Like we have like guitars that are worth like thousands of dollars. I have a vintage guitar that's like irreplaceable. When it's like if I lost that forever, I would just be like shattered, no doubt, no doubt, you know the I can't believe I'm drawing a blank right now. The band from New Zealand thrash band from New Zealand. I was interviewing them at Healthes. I can't believe I'm drawing the fricking blank right now. But they had the same problem their geared income and luckily when the other bands gave them all their gear to use on stage so they could perform. Yeah, luckily. A lot of bands are always like very understanding because it's like, you know, like
43 if that happened to you, like you would want someone to help you out. So it's like, know, you should help somebody else out. If you can all work together, well that's great. Man. I love that you're here at Bloodstock. Can't wait to see you back in the States. And thanks for being on the Adventures play man Hey, thanks for having me. Man, you got it. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pyntmin im W for CUI Radio.
