On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Danny Case from the band From Ashes to New at the Welcome to Rockville festival. They start off discussing the weather and how unpredictable it can be in Florida, compared to the snowy winters in upstate western New York. Danny shares a story of being caught in a sudden downpour in St. Petersburg, where the streets flooded with water but dried up within an hour. They both agree that the thunderstorms in Florida are preferable to the long winters up north.
They then shift the conversation to the band's latest song, "Armageddon," which has been well-received by their fans. Danny mentions that the song includes various elements of the band's style, such as rap, screaming, singing, and a breakdown. Despite the absence of a guitar solo, Pipeman expresses his admiration for the song and its video. They also discuss a cool contest the band is running, where fans have a chance to game with the band and win an Xbox or PlayStation, as well as choose a show to attend.
The conversation takes a more serious turn as they discuss the importance of mental health in the music industry. They mention a mental health Zoom call they participated in with other musicians, emphasizing the need for support in the music community, especially after the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The contest's proceeds go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides mental health support for musicians. Danny expresses his excitement about being at the Welcome to Rockville festival, mentioning his favorite bands playing that day, including Avenged Sevenfold.
Pipeman asks about the iconic venue of the festival, the Daytona Speedway, and driving on it. Danny describes the grandeur of the venue and how driving on it in a golf cart was a surreal experience. They talk about upcoming festivals the band will be performing at, including Sonic Temple and Rock Oklahoma, with Danny expressing his regret for missing Rock Oklahoma in the past due to unforeseen circumstances. The episode concludes with Pipeman mentioning the media artist lounge at Aftershock festival, and Danny expressing his anticipation for playing that festival.

0:04 Hey, you love them too? Sure, I'm see why you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipe Man on w fourcy dot com West Pong Beaches number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. What are we doing it? We're burning everything we love for something stupid. It's so confusing. Now we kill us us of what the new say. But maybe ruling in on this is part of being human or riches rooting. It's his pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man. They'd be four Cy Radio and I'm here with Danny Case from the band from Ashes to New Nice. Here, welcome to Rockville. I'm glad we got to do this interview because we were like code orange a few minutes ago, and that's usually the precursor to bye bye evacuation. Yeah, you know, they said they were going to definitely going to go to code red, and they came over the radio like a minute later and they were like they backed off to code yellow, Like all right, that's what that's what happened, Mabe.
1:26 They're like, you know, get your stuff ready because we're definitely going to code red. And I was like, oh man, yeah, you know, the weather's always, you know, you're always rolling the dice on that, especially to Florida. You know, Yeah, I live here, so I deal with it all the time. Like, oh so what lightning. I would still take it over the weather in upstate western New York, I would agree. You know, I'm from Jersey and that weather is way worse than Jersey weather. And I don't want to be in Jersey weather Aimore either. Yeah, we get pounded with snow. Oh man, it's like thirteen months of winter out of every year, you know, it's always cold, gloomy. I would I'd take the thunder and the lightning and the storms and all that stuff that comes with Florida any day of the week and then only lasts for a little while, so like who cares? Oh my god, that's the craziest part. I think. I was in Saint Petersburg, I don't know, a few years back, and out of nowhere, the sky's just opened up yep, for like fifteen minutes, and the streets were flooded with like three feet of water. Thirty minutes later, the streets were dry again. It's like, what the hell is this? Oh, in my town where my studio is, we had a flood where cars were underwater, but it was only an hour. An hour later it was dry.
2:42 The whole town was dry. That's so wild, right, that is a different animal. Man. Have you ever seen when you're here, if like it's raining on you and not on me. Have you noticed for sure? Yeah? That the time that I was here in Saint Petersburg, I could see the wall of right coming down the street. I was like, I had to I had like two CDs on me at the time because it was this was like way back in the day. I was selling CDs at like a festival and I had to sandwich my phone between two CDs and like point it at the rain so that way like wouldn't destroy my phone. I was like, it was like I jumped in a swimming pool. Like within ten minutes, I was just done. So when you see stuff like that, does it make you think of armageddon, like Florida's Armageddon were arm Yeah?
3:28 Sometimes, man, It's it's crazy here. Man, it's a loose cannon. So for our listeners that don't know, I was like dropping something there because you just dropped that song and it is badass, Thank you man. Yeah, it's a song that we were definitely excited about. It was originally going to be one of the earlier songs we were going to come out with. We were gonna come out with that one instead of Nightmare, but we actually pushed for Nightmare first and it actually I'll performed all of our other songs so that Armageddon. Armageddon's crushing it so far. If people like it. We tried to put every you know, element of the band that we could in to a single song. So there's a lot of rap, it's a lot of screaming, the singing, there's a breakdown. The only thing we didn't fit in was a guitar solo. So and I didn't even miss that.
4:09 I Like, I watched the video and I was like, this is a badass song. And usually I would be like, where's the guitar solo? I didn't even notice. Yeah, look at that? Thanks man. Yeah, So tell what's really cool to make because I'm a gamer? Is you got this cool contest going on? So let's talk about that? Yeah, so are it's funny. I'm actually the worst person to talk about that. Lance is our gamer guy, so he's he's kind of at the front of all that. But I believe we're doing either a fundraiser or a contest giveaway type thing, and you get to game with a band, and that's mainly gonna be Lance. I think the rest of us are probably gonna hop onto, but Lance is going to be at the forefront of that. He is like he's on the forefront of like every game. He's already got the new Zelda game and is like playing through it and all that stuff, and he's just like computer whiz. It's like playing all the games. He's all into all the anime stuff and all the all the newest games that come out, and he's just on top of it. I love it because it's really cool contest because they get the game with you guys, they'll get an Xbox or PlayStation that's right, yeah, and they get to pick a show of their choice to go to. That's pretty killer. Like that's like, yeah, combining all my worlds right there. Yeah. I want to say that already twenty five thousand dollars was raised. Wow, I believe I think the goal is maybe fifty. I can't remember for sure, and this was like a maybe a week or two ago they saw it, but I'm pretty sure we already hit the twenty five thousand dollar marks. So it's been really awesome.
5:38 It's been a great campaign. I'm excited to see how it all turns out. And Lance is going to be gaming his brains out. He's going to be on Cloud nine with that man Nice and then so the money that's being raised is going to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. Oh yeah, So what it is is it's a fun that goes for mental health for music musician. We did a mental health kind of zoom call with it was it was awesome. Avonder Fire and Doc from Bad Wolves, Johnny from Nothing where I was on that. We talked about mental health and all that stuff like that, and that was a really cool get together. Is I don't know if that is part of it, but I know that that was something that we hopped together on to do and that was really cool. So anything involving like mental health, free musicians and and that centered around music is always a good thing.
6:25 I think it's a great thing because you know, people don't realize how much musicians need that, especially after that COVID lockdown, Like it was already bad before that. I lost my sense of purpose when that. When you know the the pandemic happened and everything was shut down. Like I felt like I was just existing, you know, at home. It was it was terrible. It was awful, and I'm sure for a lot of people was really really rough. If I had to guess, if anything, there's pretty pretty good high among the you know, all the musicians. Now that we've gotten our lives right, you're welcome to Rockville, right for sure? Man, for sure. Man, There's no place in the world I'd rather be. This is the festival I was absolutely the most excited about. There's incredible, so many good bands today. I know, specifically today on Friday there's yet Motionless and Sleeping with Sirens Hearties on it event sevenfold, which is my favorite band. So you'll be out there watching them, oh for sure, for sure. So yeah, we're I know, I'm excited to be here, and I'm sure everybody's feeling good, which is great. We need that in the music community. How about this iconic venue like performing at the Daytona Speedway and driving on did you get the drive us? Yeah, that's so that's how we got over here. And we were driving over here, I was like, I have to take like videos of this. My dad is a huge, huge, huge, huge NASCAR fan. We've been to a couple of races together, but it was always like, you know, way up in the nosebleeds and we've never been here. I think we went to like Michigan. I can't remember the other one, and maybe it was Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is like such another level. Yeah, it was surreal.
7:53 It's a trip. And I have a brother, like, anytime I want I talk about the festivals, he don't want to hear it. He don't give a shit. But then the other night I texted him and I was like, I'm driving on the Daytona Speedway and it's like send picks. Like he answered the texts in two seconds, which normally he doesn't even respond, Like who cares? Like, you know, TV does not at all, do it just now it is It's a behemoth. It is gigantic. It is an absolute mammoth sized track. The banking is super high. This stadium looks like it goes up halfway up the damn sky. And it's it's surreal to be able to have ridden over here, yes, on a little golf cart right like twelve miles an hour. It was also now you guys are gonna be performing another one of my favorite festivals. I know. We're playing Sonic Temple, which is next weekend. That's another cool one. We're playing Rockklahoma. I'll be at that one too, and we're not gonna miss it this time. I don't care what happens. We had to miss it last time. Oh god, it was just a real cluster f We were supposed to play it. We had to like drive for two days, but we had a show that we were supposed to go to that got canceled and we had merch going there, so we had no choice but to like go and pick it up, and it got delayed and we had to get that stuff and then our driver couldn't make the drive. We had a freaking cancel.
9:13 Ockklahoma was that we were super pissed and that is such a cool festival and the people that good at a festival, or like the most loyal festival goers ever. Dude, is the worst day of twenty twenty one for me. Oh well, I was missing that festival. It was. It was. We had five festivals lined up I think that year, and we only got to play two of them because the next one was Aftershock and we got COVID before it. Yeah, so Aftershocks another killer one too. I'm sure it is. I hope we find out soon. You'll have fun when you do play that one, and you will play that one because it has the most killer media artist lounge of all the DWP festivals. It's like, I mean, it's hard to beat the center of Daytona. I know, right, you know, but it's just kind of vibe there. It's not that cool venue that necessarily, it's the cool vibe of the lounge. All right, all right, I'll take a word for it there. It is.
10:03 So let's tell everybody, if they don't know which they should anyway, how to reach you guys on socials, how to buy your merch because you know, bands don't survive without merch, and check out the new album and the songs and everything else. Yeah, so all of our socials, you pretty much can't miss us. It's from ashes to new whether it's Twitter or on Instagram, or on Facebook or YouTube or TikTok even or on TikTok. Now, yeah, you can't miss us on socials. We're really easy to find. We have a new album coming out in July called Blackout. There's a bunch of songs already off of it. One of the songs is hate Me Too. It's about to go top ten. If it's not already today, it may be top ten right now. I'm not sure. We were seventeen spins away. Wow, so oh then you're they updated daily, so you're we're there. I think we're there. So if not, after the interview, I'm just gonna go on and play at seventeen times. Yeah, so, so that song's out. We're currently out on tour, going around through these festivals. Are about to play some shows with full from a Valentine.
11:03 That's gonna be awesome. And just thank you to the fans. We love you all so much. Can't wait to see everybody out on the road. Well, I can't wait to see you because you guys rock I can't wait for the new album. Thanks for being here at Welcome to Rockville, and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Yeah, thanks for having me. Man, you got me. What's up? This is Danny from the van from Ashes to new and you're listening to W four c Y Radio with the Pipe Man.
