04 Hey you lunto's sure, wow, crazy you. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here. With Matt and Lance and we're in a band called from ash Snow. You may have heard of maybe I think I heard of you? Okay, cool, I'm not sure. Good maybe. As the interview goes on, I'll figure. We're relatively new, just came on the scene. My mom says we're pretty good. Oh well, then that that's a done deal. You must be good. I'll tell you what. Who else says you're pretty good? Your newest song is pretty fucking badass.
47 Thank you man, thank you. Yep. We were hoping it would get the reception that it did. I was like, wow, that's a really good song. And you guys are good anyway. But I mean, like sometimes when you're into a band and they come out with new music, you're like, is it gonna be as good as before? Or is it gonna be not? I think this is like your best yet so far. I'll take it. How do you feel about that? You like that? By agree? So does his mother. His mother also agrees. There we got the selo approval from mom. That's all you need in this life, dude, I know, right. See, I come from a time where it's like I was playing guitar and of course my dad wasn't into metal and he's like, you better give that up because you suck. I'm like, that's nice of him. I'm like, yeah, I don't think you understand.
35 So you're a negative reinforcement guy, me too, right, Yeah, yeah, go ahead fucking tell me. I can't. I know, and I'm gonna tell you. I but I did suck, So oh well. Sorry, do some cool shit. If he didn't say I sucked, I wouldn't be doing this right now. I played drums, I played guitar, I sang flashballs, sucked at all three, So now I do this. I'm pretty fucking good at this. All right, So that's what That's all you needed? We need all to get here. How about you, guys? Did you go through different things before you got to what you really loved doing? Yeah? So, my dad was a super popular sound guy. So he did sound for like Motley Crue and Elton John, like big timers. Nice always tried to get me into his avenue of things, whether it be like drums, keyboard, or even pro sound after I graduated high school.
26 I hated all of it. It wasn't for me. And I randomly picked up a guitar from my buddy in high school, like just making plinky noises. I'm like, it is the coolest thing ever. This is what I gotta do, so nice. I love hearing that. Now he hates it? Yeah, I hate it? How you like Louder than Life though? Okay, so last year this has been a weird festival for us, right, So we've been booked to play this festival how many times now? I think it's four times now, and two of four have been rained out. And so we've only ever played it once. I hate to tell you this because I think I was supposed to talk to you at last year's Louder than Life. But it was also today that Slayer played ye let slay Er not Rain and Blood on Louder than Life this year too.
10 I mean, I don't want to jinx it, but it looks like a beautiful day and I haven't heard of any hurricanes coming up the coast, so I think we should be all right. You never know, because I want to show you a picture of last week at this venue. Okay, you ready this is. This was in the middle of the night though, so it really didn't ruin the festival, so to speak. But it was pretty wild. If I can, I'll find it sometime during the interview. But yeah, so what else you got going on that's new? When? When? What's going on after Louder than Life? I mean, we're on tour. We just started a tour, so Louder in Life is the beginning of the New Disease. Yeah, you're gonna be in my neck of the woods in November. Where's that? Well, I live in West Palm. Here West Palm, and you're gonna Lauderdale. So I'm going I'm going to hit up your publicist.
57 Let's do it. Hey, Yeah, Yeah, So we're doing the New Disease sour, which is off the new single, which is weird because we announced the tour before we released the single. But that's a whole back end cluster fuck that we don't need to get into right now. But yeah, So the tour starts Saturday, so we're here today and a Saturday, it starts in Saint Louis and then it goes the whole way until four. Lotderdale is actually the last show, and then after for Lauderdale, we play Warped Tour in Orlando. Oh I'm waiting to hear on that, but I should do that because I did warp Tour. It's close too, so it's a lot easier for you to get to It was. Mike, when I was in West Palm Beach like back in the day. Oh yeah, I played there, but it also sucked because why do you put West Palm Beach in August to play like that's when always was. I'm like, that's a hot that's fricking monk.
39 That's the entire This the entire tour, dude, like Lance, And I'm pretty sure we actually maybe post mortem right now, like we are not actually alive currently because Warped Tour took. Us out in twenty sixteen. That's great, Like we're we're actually just ghosts of it was that hard, I guess is what I'm trying to say is that tour was fucking brutal. Dude. I bet I bet hey did you see the Ferris Wheel that's the fairest wheel last week? Like that? Man? I know, right experience how cool would that be? I'd be like up there. Like this, man, imagine that shot. I could become the flash photoshop. Nowadays, we can just make it look like that happens. I know, I think he just gave me a great idea.
20 Should definitely shop yourself on that Ferres wheel. I know that would be cool. And then I'll have you guys playing like below it right exactly. You're on the other side of the lightning. You're like playing like right over here. The Metallica is riding it. I love that, you see. I mean, speaking of Metallica, have you ever seen my battle vests? That's mine from the eighties. Oh that's sick. Can you tell it's been through some wars. A couple of marsh bits, A little bit, yeah, a little stage, a couple of crowds, first flood from stage diving and the folk swan. I climbed up the Marshall stack and then crowd moved. I was like in mid air. I'm like, oh fuck, I. Think it's been th man.
00 It has hope. I don't see this on an episode of pund Stars someday. No, no, never. And it's funny because it's been in the closet, not like that, but it's been in the closet for many years. And I decide, you know what, why don't I bring this and use this during interviews. Doing a Slayer interviews today? I am not They don't do it anymore. But I was at their first show ever. They didn't even have a patch, so I just did it myself. Oh yeah, and I lived in LA so people thought I was a gang banger and that was my gang name. Oh really, that's your motorcycle gang name? Yeah, exactly exactly. And then like Winston from Parkway Drive was like, when did Metallica have a logo like that?
41 Can you guess what that's from? I actually don't know, like what era? This is from the eighties? Like this is from the first Metallica show pretty much. So it's a kill them All era or what? Yeah, I don't know if I should give you that hint. I don't know. That's as far as I'm gonna get. How about you, do you have a guess? Nope? He did exactly what I would have. Done, jumping the fire. It is kill them all? Okay, I don't think I've ever seen that either, to be honest with you, right, where'd you get it? Was? Like for a T shirt? He cut it off over. No, that's the real patch. Oh is this a patch? That's a real patch. That's a real patch, that's an actual patch. I did that part like I was like the whites boring me. Oh he colored it in, right, I colored it, and I think I had to do when I put it into my electric fireplace with my bro when we were tripping on acid or something.
35 Hell yeah, listen, man, electric fireplace, acid and let's color in metallica. Yeah exactly, because and then what happened is this became the real devil coming out of fire. So it was truly jump out of jump into. Fire, sick, you know, Like I live for history like that, like in memories and things like that. Like sometimes life gets a little bit more and more difficult as you move forward, so you kind of look back at those those good things, man, and you're able to kind of reminisce and find that old smile. Sometimes. I look at this thing. I smile all the time because I'm like, it's funny. At Helles, I was interviewing Geene Hoagland and Dark Angel just came out with a new album, Like, hey, do you recognize that logo and it's Dark Angel on there.
17 So anyways, we gotta start a new one. Now there it is. There you go. I better see you, crowds are here. Wait a minute, I need I need to bring a sharpie and you could draw your band name on there. What I'm saying, somebody did that at the last festival. That's what I'm saying. But but, but it's not real unless you're jumping off our stage. Okay. I don't know if Daniel like that, he'd be all right, you get over it. I mean I could be like Dillinger escape Plan and hot climb up and grab one of your guitars, climb up and jump down. You could, But I got it. I got a suspicion that might not work out well for any of us. No, it wouldn't. It wouldn't. So what else do you guys want to tell the listeners that they need to know it's going on? And why should they should definitely catch you on this tour because that's a badass tour.
04 Yeah, tour sick, It's Magnolia, It's us Magnolia Park until I Wake and not enough space. But we got a couple of the young guns out there supporting it, and up and coming bands are doing great things right now. Obviously new diseases. Our new single that's doing. Phenomenal out the Gate Crushed, and we're gonna be playing it, of course on this tour. So if you want to see it live, comes here. We got some deep cuts, right. Yeah, we're playing We're playing a song. I'm not gonna tell you what it is. We're playing a song we've never played live before on any oh. So they have to go yeah, don't tell them, they have to go to Yes. And there's a couple that we haven't played in years. I think that we're breaking out for the store as well. How hard is that? Like it's one thing you're playing it every night, but then when you put it like in the closet and then bring it out years later, like are you a little rusty up? Yeah?
45 Yeah, man, Well because I don't actively listen to them, right, you know what I mean? Like, I'm not like actively putting those songs or any of our songs for that matter, on a playlist. I hear our stuff enough, right, you know what I mean? So, so yeah, we started practicing some things. I'm like, oh shit, I don't remember any I would actually went and google the lyrics. That's that's funny though. Yeah, that is and it kind of comes flowing back to you then, right, you know what I mean. Like, but thank god for Google though. Yeah, yeah, I had to start digging through some notes. I know, right, got to dig out those paper notes from way banks. Some of them were actually written on paper, I believe. Yeah, I mean, I'll do it any more. It's all notes in the phone now. But you don't lose your phone like Kirk Hamet where he lost like I think it was like one hundred and forty riffs on his phone. Yeah, that's don't do that.
28 That's not fun. You got back that shit up in the cloud. Dog. Well you guys freaking rock. Glad to see you. Hear at Louder than Life and that new song it kicks ass. So nobody anybody that hasn't heard yet, they need to go hear it, and they need to go hear it live. Appreciate that, man. Thank you anytime, you guys rock. Thanks for being here and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thanks for having us hell y man. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipe Man on w for CUI Radio.
