04 Hey, you have done to censure. I'm wow, pray young. Why Become of America. It's time for. The Adventures of White Man on W four C why dot com west Poon beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the white Man.

58 This is white Man here on the Adventures fight Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with. James Black and Rick Jacket from Finger eleven. Nice here at Louder than life. That's right? How's it? Yeah? Right, It'll be even louder tomorrow night when Slayer plays and Slipping out tonight, Oh my god, slip not tonight, that's why. Okay, So I have this rule. I never wear a shirt unless you're iconic, like I do have my Slayer shirt for tomorrow. Yeah, but I never wear a shirt of a band that's playing at the festival while I'm doing there, because if I'm doing their reviews, it's kind of insulting, I think. So I'm wearing a Vended shirt. Do you know vendd No, No, that's Clown and Cory's kids.

44 Okay, yeah, and that's like a deep cut, I guess. Yeah. They sound very much like h Griffin. Cory Sun sounds a lot like Corey even talking sounds like Corey. Okay. So yeah, so I fair I can wear this shirt. Yeah yeah, they're not playing here, so I didn't break my role. So have you guys played it louder in life before? No, we haven't. This the first for us. What do you think of it so far? You know what I was? I was blown away by the size of the audience. I was right, I know, first day at the festival, early in the day, like, who's showing up? You're faked.

28 I mean, I'm sure there'll be more people later, but it was. It was great man. We had a good time of it. That's the cool thing about that Danny Wimmer festivals is that, like there's always crowds for the early bands, and Danny just knows how to promote it. And from what I understand every artist I've ever talked to, he knows how to treat the artists. Would you agree, Well, so far, so good? Yeah? Right, awesome? Yeah, I mean we woke up right back to our buses parked right behind the stage. Nice and so it's from the second I opened my eyes I was in this concert. It's and it's awesome. Yeah, it's awesome. So are there ain't bands you're sticking around yourself to go see today.

08 I mean definitely slipped on, like really slipped on is something we listened on the bus and stuff. So it's like we're fans. I'm excited to see the guys from see Either. We haven't seen them in over a decade, so that'd be cool. And then I'm like we were talking like we're not all offspring fans, but I am so. I think when Austin gets up there and like the songs get going and their sound list gets going. The crowd is gonna really get worlded, like whipped up me. But yeah, this is a is a new first for us. This whole Danny's world is like he invited us in and we're very very excited to play. And I think we did what we do, which is fun. You had to have killed it to have that kind of crowd, right, otherwise they're walking away like we. Got paralyzer and I've never seen anybody mashed a paralyzer, but we did today and it was pretty cool. We had to go for one thing.

50 They were watching for our acoustic songs, So that's how you know it's going good. Yeah, isn't it funny too when people like sometimes I'm like old squam, Like really you're mashing too that. Yeah, but it's kind of cool. It takes over. That's like I know, but I can't stop myself. It's like, that's what you want. You want that frenzy, right. Yeah, So now how you're going to top Louder than Life? What you're doing next? Making a record? Finish a record and releasing that record, which has been about eight years for us, But the music's there and it's like the creative flow is there, which is really exciting for us. We have a few dates left with Creed that we've been playing with the last like I don't know how many.

33 Is that like a flashback for you because that's how you came up in the beginning, you know. Like so it's like but what's great is that we kind of now we're a different entity, right, like same people, but the the songs are kind of bigger than they were when we were the opening band. So there's a different feeling when we're doing it. Even though it's a throwback. It's a different vibe. Yeah, and every like it's it sort of has this positive I don't know, there's something too. It's like. It's it's like it's not trying to be mean. It's all about like arms wide open and being having fun.

13 So I don't know, it's kind of neat at this point. Well, I think going into it, I definitely it felt like a nostalgic play, you know what I mean, because all the way bands were lined up, even the name of the tour Summer at ninety nine, you know what I mean. Yeah, But in the moment, there's something different happening, and I think it's a generational thing, and I think there's a young generation and an old generation to join the music on the same level, which I don't know. That's a trip too, right. It is like we've done a lot of concerts. I've been to a lot of concerts for my whole life, and there's an energy at that concert. I don't know what it is, but it's different. It's happy. It's a very positive vibe there. Say. I love that because even when it comes to bands like Slayer, they're a positive vibe, but people think they're not right.

55 Tom's personality between songs, there's nothing but joy and happiness, you know. Oh dude, Okay. I was at their first show ever. But I was just saw them at riot Fest on Sunday and I can't stop commenting about how much fun he was having on stage. He was smiling and laughing the whole time. Well, like Carrie's like mister serious, and Tom's just like up there, like you don't think he's singing these songs about death and destruction. And he even made a comment about it, we're having fun here, so singing some songs about death and destruction. He's laughing and smiling while I was saying, it's pretty cool.

36 That's what makes it so special. I mean, that's like that yin yang of him and Carrie is what makes that like, I don't know, increase that sort of cyclical like energy that goes around on the stage. It's cool man. And so I also have a question for you, because you're coming out with new music, you're touring with Creed again, do you think that COVID it helped renew your artistic desire? Like I kind of feel like that's the positive. You know what you can't do without, And. It's like and you can't cancel concerts out of life, like. There's no virtual that works.

18 It's like pecially concerts, especially that time, Like, I think that's when we need it most. I think that's why people were so pissed and depressed. You need this outlet, like this is therapy. It revealed the. Like the the vitalness of it. Like at some point it's like it's entertainment, but then something deeper is like this is necessary and you can't take it away, Like I. Will say this, so I will say that. I mean, it happens, so you can't. It can't unhappen. But pre COVID, the audience, the band, the whole energy was different. Phones were out, people were like it was more of a social event than the actual band performing.

00 Yeah, post Covid is different, man. They put their phones away there in the moment and there and we are too, And there's. That's why it's hoping. The energy that we used to know in the nineties. It seems to be back that connection between the band and the audience. And that's cool, man. I like that. That's my favorite part of the concerts. That's why I was hoping for COVID because, like, like you were pointing out to your point, I'm looking at these streams and I'm like, for the artists, how can that be any fun. You're like, you feed off the crowd, and for me, it's like it's not the same energy. Like I'm gonna be in that fucking slip knock pit tonight sweat. You want the heat, you want you need that bumping into people as it's going on, like because that's what it's it. It's like all these people that you don't know came to this one spot to sing the same song you want to sing. Yeah, But when it's at home, that's the same as everyone's microwave in the same dinner at the same time.

53 It's not no doubt, no doubt. I also think as artists, you guys have before COVID were on this long term hamster wheel where Yeah lost to Jews because you to a show after show, you're writing between shows, you didn't have time to even think about what you wanted your music to be, Yeah, and that gave you the downtime to really recreate that feeling you had when you first started music. That I think also, it's sort of like because even if you wanted to, well, at least where we were living, it wasn't happening. So it sort of reminded you why as well, like that was a big part for me, Like I felt like we've been doing this since we were in high school, and that was the first time and since we started where someone had ever said, you got eighteen months and you're not gonna be in the band, right, But we couldn't go anywhere, you know what I mean.

44 But it was enough time. For me to for me personally to we discovered a guitar and how much I loved because I had nothing else to do and all but guitar had become the thing I do on stage and when part of. The job only picked up to right or to play or perform. And for the first time since I was like teenager, it was just in my garage with my Marshall and my turntable and just learning riffs again. And that was a good thing for me personally. It was out flooring. Yeah, it wasn't even about creating. It was just about remembering the reason it all started in the first place, because it had been taken away, and it was a nice thing. Tell everybody how they can reach out to you on the web on socials, I. Mean it's just all finger eleven dot whatever, you know, like our Instagram's finger eleven.

26 Our Facebook's finger eleven. Is just typing finger eleven and to Google or wherever you do it, and you'll see all the things that we do. So nice. And guys have cool merch. What's the coolest merch you got? I mean we got right now. We got this really neat. It almost looks like a ninety skate shirt of like a. Skeleton or skull head with his brain's coming out. Oh, I love it. That's why people are loving right now, because people have. To buy your merch or they can't listen to my show. Oh I like that. I like that. It's only way bands survived nowadays. It's not like the old days. Well you guys, you rock being here at Ladder in Life and thanks for having us here. Man Hey, thank you for part of this. Thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man.

07 Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on w for c u I Radio.
