00 Hey, you love them too, sus sure, I'm come from you for see Why where you will wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four CWY dot com west pom Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. What about brother n one? You don't know why? It's down life. I don't want to do dot Dog. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man w for c Why Radio, and I'm here with Letty Funny Jen Adrian. We are fay nice. So I gotta tell you something. I walked out here earlier because a band that I interviewed last year that I got really friendly with, they were playing. So I had to, you know, show them, you know, some respect, and come out there and get out of my hole back here. Yeah, And that's I was walking out. You guys were playing. I'm like, oh wait, I want to stay here. They sound really good. Well that's good. So I
34 kind of like did one of my festival things and I stood in the middle and listened to one and left ear and the left ear and one in the right ear. Have you it's ever been to a festival like done that? Because I do that all the time. If it's two bands I want to listen to, I think I yes, I have no, I'm more scheduled. I'm I know who I want to see and I'm gonna go there. But yeah, I guess I miss out. I like to be in the front. There you go. I like to be in the back. Look and see. Now I'm finding out about the different personalities here. I don't think I answered the question right. I think he did because you want answer.
15 Yeah you wanted to and there is no wrong answer. But you wanted to pick the ones. But how now what if you do? What do you do if there's two bands play at same time that you really really like them, how do you pick? You flip a coin? Yeah? Yeah, no, catch like maybe you catch first, you know, the first half, and then you try to get to the other. Yeah, there you go. Compromise, compromise. I just like this beliefs. Uh, I go with that. Yeah, there you go. Or nowadays in twenty twenty three, political beliefs that same thing. Right, totally, Let's abolish all that stuff and just be a bunch of human beings, like being nice to each other. Like, I don't get what's so Why do people have to be so nasty? I was just at a festival last week and I had to get out of a group that because I was saying positive things.
13 They all attacked me. Like come on, sometimes people can only relate to each other if they're being negative with each other, which is sad. Yeah, Like it's no fun, Like what a waste of energy? Like let's just all love each other. Who gives a shit? Who's what or whatever? You do you, I'll do me and we'll get along and be friends. Period. Well, like Will Farrell says in Semi pro everybody love everybody? Oh why you saw that? I was one of the few who saw it not once but thrice. Wow. Nice and I live I live by it can't Okay? So you like Will Farrell? Yes, okay, So tell me what drummer of what band looks exactly like Will Ferrell? Did you read on Shelly Peppers? Yeah? Did you see that drum off that they did? What? What night show? Was it? At Jimmy fallon?
13 They That was pretty good? Did you see that? Yeah? I did totally. That was so funny man. Yeah, so yeah, I mean it's funny too because that whole thing used to happen when during the eighties with punk and metal. Okay, it's like, if you were long hair, which I was, who liked punk, you couldn't go to a show you want and the punk yeah, pumps couldn't go to metal shows. Metals couldn't get punk shows, or you got your ass kicked. And I always thought it was stupid because it's like we were both the ones getting their asses kicked by the jocks in school, you know, And it makes sense. It's similar music. Why not band together, Like, I don't get it. Now we are, though, so that's cool. Yeah, So maybe there is hope in the future for the rest of the bullshit. Maybe there's hope for women playing music. If there's hope for punking middle to come together and let go of their differences, inclusivity, inclusivity is a way to be I'm seeing that hope for women in music because I'll tell you what, I see a lot more, especially on the metal side, a lot more like women that are fronting bands and are way more badass than the men, like and they can do a growl better than any man can do. Right, we have a killer guitarist in our band, so she's doing it. Better than most men. Yeah. See, wow, banks man, So are you better than Nita Straussing because she's pretty badass? You know her, right,
44 I know her, and I am not doing it better, but I do have my own style. But she is amazing right now. See, She's somebody that definitely shreds better than any guy I know, like and incredible. Think in between, like like women groups or like women musicians shouldn't be a competition. I mean, we should just be like lifting each other up and supporting each other and like you said, different styles and it should all be celebrated. And you're right, You're right, because that is a problem a lot of time since the competitiveness. How are you gonna like unite and just create this inclusivity if you're against each other? Yeah, exactly. I think also music gets confused with sports, and so music isn't sport and so it's more about art, and so I think that that can be confusing. Because yeah, that's a great point. I love that point because it's so true.
43 We do like to smack each other on the ass. So I don't know, well, I see there you go, Seahawks by the way, poodles, Yeah, anything else we want shout out here. While we're shouting out, I think we got it out of our systems. There you go. So what is like the craziest story you guys have in your journey of music? When our van almost got hijacked somewhere in Louisiana. That was a pretty crazy and scary moment. We were in Baton Rouge and we got a motel and we parked it and a couple of a car blocked the van in front of us because we went in backside in and then someone was on the side getting ready to jump the van and like they wouldn't let us out, and the guy was waiting for us to get out because I could see them there there. Yeah, They're like get out of the van. They were going to check us. So my first instinct was to just put my hand on the horn because it was a full motel and everybody and I kept my hand on the horn and it's scared more. And then he everyone started waking up like what the hick is going on? And then they backed up and we got out. I don't think they thought that through either, because they were like they looked like oh, like just like yeah, oh, maybe we should move Yeah, they picked the wrong women to do that too, because I was smart as hell man just because you know, just punk the
16 Warren. I don't know, but there's lots of stories, some that we can't remember, but well those are the good stories. There's always good stories in Baker's Field because there's nothing else to do in Baker's Hill exactly. It's my favorite Dwight Yoakum song. But yeah, and see there there's something okay, like you're punk band talking about the country sings. I absolutely adored Dwight Yokum. And to your point, music is music, like why do we That's why I like nowadays a lot of bands have like different band members and they all have different influences or genres they like because the genre thing is getting kind of stupid. Bit okay, It's like I used to do a joke at festivals like name your own genre, because it's pretty much way it comes down to. It's like they're so specific that there's only one band in the genre. Yeah, what would you? What would what? What do we call it? I saw that, I saw that that's cool, funny if you don't mind funny. Some Mike Hagger come on now, Yeah, so yeah, you would expect this, this punk group to get pumped up.
33 We were you know, you would think we would be listening to some punk rock when we pulled up into the right best we were jamming some yacht rock. And because it felt very Chicago, you know, I mean, and if you get to listen punk all day, maybe listen to something else on the way in. We got pumped very good. So I have a I have a different thing you'll like. So I also am a motivational speaker. So I when I'm on my way to do a seminar, I pumped myself up by either loud metal or punk. And that's how I get pumped up to do a business speech, right, you know, right, Because you would think maybe something a little more like Kenny g or something like a kid right now that would put me asleep, and then I wouldn't be able to do the gig. I'd like to. I'd like to have a shot of Jamison, and then I like to listen to Amal and the Sniffers, and then I do my makeup. And that's kind of the beginning of the process.
28 A feeling. Oh nicey, you just remind me of Wing interviewed Doyle because the whole interview he was doing his makeup. Oh that's awesome. Yeah right, he was just sitting there. He mightn't even look in the mirror. I'm like, wow, that's pretty impressive. You could put that makeup on, wouldn't even look in the mirror. Wow, that is really cool. I can't even do that, right, Yeah, I haven't gotten to that point. Well, seeing now you'll have to hang out with Doyle, like go on tour with the original Misfits and then and then you'll learn how fine I will do that. Then thank you for this. But we're putting that out there in the universe. Right. So now, how are you gonna follow up riot Fest? Well, tomorrow we're playing with the Interrupters Music Hall for the Late night right, and then next month we toured with the Subhumans. Oh my god, one my favorite all time. It's a long one. They're great. They're a perfect example. There's four or five bands in the last two years I've seen that I never was allowed to see in high school. Subhumans, Exploited GBH Discharge, and let's see there was maybe it was the Dead Candies, but I saw them before. But yeah, those are all bands I couldn't see as a teenager because I wasn't allowed.
48 No, they're fun, they're fun, they're good guys, and we toured with them before and this is our second time, so we're excited. That's very cool. And the interrupters they have one most fun pits ever. We're excited to see the show. I know they're playing today, but we're excited. We're looking forward together a club show with you guys. That's gonna be better, Like that's more intimate Concord Music Hall. So that's our first time. Nice and I came about kind of last minute. We had a couple of dates scheduled after today, I think in Saint Louis Louis and Nashville and Nashville, and they reached out to us and asked us to open up for them, and we were just super honored and excited and so you know, unfortunately we had to cancel this. We'll make this up later, but we're really stoked about tomorrow night. Nice. So, how do people connect to you guys on the web? On socials by your mark ten and it takes you everywhere everywhere we are on the web, our Facebook, our merch store, website, Fat two tens, the area code of San Antonio where we're from. So fat ten dot com. Nice and uh, I gotta tell you, like your band should be called Benita, not bea because like you don't fit the vein. No, no, we're fair. I'm just busting your job. You have to be fat because she's got it tattooed. You can't? We all do? We all? Do you all do? Let's see them all got Adrian, Let's do it right here, right now.
28 We've had a very revolving door of guitar players and and they've gotten tattoos and it must be bad luck. So you don't have to sounds okay good because you know I have this too, and this was really stupid. So yeah, this is a ring on my wedding finger. And I did. I made a mistake and I was like, hey, this get tattoos and oh and then like we broke up, and ye, so maybe I shouldn't. Well what well, what if if we were to spread your butt cheeks like a lot, just spread them all the way and we got them right in the inner and then that way, like you'll ever see it, but we'll know that it's there. How do you feel about that? Adrian, here we go, and then when somebody else sees it hurt bad, it's gonna hurt. I'll do it for you. Guys. That might be your name, okay, I'll do it for you. That might be like your new moniker in the band. You're like, but whole Faia. My girlfriend might need to approve this though, Nicole is it okay, We'll have our publicists reach out to her. She'll have to watch to make sure you put it in the right place. Anything else you want to share with the listeners before we go that we haven't talked about that they need to know about you guys, dude, just go to our side. We have a new record that hopefully comes out next year. So that's it for now. Just keep following us. I'll be out there somewhere in your city. Well, you have
01 a new fan here, because I'd never heard you before until I walked out there, I'm like, Wow, they're really fucking good. Thank you, And so then you know, it's funny. Before the interview, we're talking about how we were scheduled, but then I wasn't. I didn't know about it, and then I walked over. I'm like, hey, do you want to do an interview, and it was because I walked out there and heard you guys. So I'm very happy. Because I do like to a band i'm going to interview, I like to catch their set, so I was lucky enough to catch your set before I knew I was interviewing it. Thank you so much, thank you, thank you so much my pleasure, and thank you for being on the Adventures of pipe Man and being here at Riot Festa. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man. I'm W four CUI Radio.
