04 Hey, you have done to censure? Wow? Crazy you why become of America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipe Man on W four c Y dot com West Palm Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm excited to talk to somebody right now with some killer new music that you're going to want to check out.
03 So let's welcome to the show as the door. Hey, how's it going. I'm George from Mesador. How's it going? And so? Yeah, I was watching your newest video. First of all, the music's badass, but the video was really really cool. Can you tell me on the video for Umbra what that ceremony is that is being performed in the video? Oh? Thank you very much. I'm glad to hear that about the music and the video. Yeah, we work on that basically trying to explore and to show the people the kind of rituals that Allen Sursters doing back in our times in Colombia and Mexico and all the Latin American tribes, like biking in one in thousand, two hundred years ago, like they are preparing the ceremonies to evoke and embrace their spirits and their ancestors and that kind of culture.
13 And you know, it's cool, and that's why it interested me because I have actually friends that have gone to Columbia for different types of ceremonies. I'm one that like, I travel the world and I love seeing all these different cultures, and I'm always curious of the different ceremonies because you know, a lot of them, Like what you're talking about is ancient, so it's not like something that's just done in twenty twenty three. So it's like the history of our world. And you know, I think as humans we could all understand each other a lot better if we understand all our histories and ceremonies and things like that. Yeah. Absolutely, And they have been doing this for many years, and we are for getting about that kind of rituals and the culture. So it's very important for us to like remember everyone and trying to not forget about it. And many people come to Columbia and maybe in Mexico too, you have this kind of ceremonies also in California and New Mexico text as too, but in a different style. You know, everyone does in a different style. And for example, if you find in California you find peyote, do you know peyote? Yes, for example, we have our own payote. The name is different, but it's the same. It's the
44 same process and it's the same. It is the same that you are doing with the with the medicine. You focus like a medicine and you to renew your spirit and to progress to develop the best version of yourself. Absolutely. You know, it's funny because there's another band I've interviewed a couple times before that the person that formed the band also owns a hyahuasca center in Costa Rica. It's interesting how all that kind of stuff ties together, because, like you said, there's things all over the world and they all are related and maybe a little bit different, but they're still all connected. Yeah, that's true. So tell me you were talking about, you know, remembering certain ceremonies and parts of our history and stuff. Do you find in Colombia.
46 I definitely find in the United States. But do you find Columbia that there's a lot less recognition of that stuff than there has been in the past. Yes, absolutely, it happens everywhere we are forgetting about our ancestors. You can talk about it just turning the TV and seeing what's happening now in Israel. Yeah, all the war and this kind of stuff. They're forgetting about their history, about the way of living, which is totally different to that. Now it's all about money, it's all about power. And in the back in our history it was different. It was about the power, but not the power of control, but the power of letting go, the power of living efficiently, you know, in peace and in harmony with each other.
45 Right, you know what, because it was about people instead of about people in charge. It's the best way to put it, because as a Jew myself, it's horrible what's going on Israel, and it's not anything new, but in some ways, like you're pointing out who's in control of it, and the reason why it's happening is new. You know. I feel that things that happened in history happen for valid reasons sometimes and for you know, a purpose, a greater good, and stuff like this is just never the greater good. Yeah, serible, Yeah, absolutely, you know.
29 And there's stuff that happens all over the world, just like what's going on in Ukraine. Same thing again. And I think it's good when artists are putting stuff out there to remind people of history and of customs and cultures, because I think we do need to be reminded because history tends to repeat itself, and it'd be better if the good parts of history would repeat themselves instead of just the bad. Yeah, that's what happens. We experience that in the past twenty twenty two, when we were touring in Europe with Batushka, we arrived right to Romania and right in the middle of the war. You know, Ukraine is next to Romania, and we were able to see like how many people were trying to escape and to find out and to get you know, a new village to live. They had nothing, they had just their luggage, their family maybe, yeah, and many were alone like, oh I lost my family, I lost this, I lost that, And it was painful because we are human beings, you know, we don't deserve to experience that in this kind of situation. No, you know, it's funny. I was just thinking the other day that sometimes I think we were just better off way back, like before even you and I were born,
01 Like way back when life was so much simpler. Like even I was talking to somebody who was like I was talking about even going across the United States and think of you know that at one point there weren't even roads, you know, so like you did if you were in the quote unquote New York area, you wouldn't really know what was going on in the quote unquote California area because you just weren't. And sometimes that was better because I think people bound together more as a community, and now with it's a shame that with all this technology and all these ways to communicate and all these ways to connect, I think the sense of community is less than it's ever been. Kind of yeah, it told makes up nowadays. Yeah, And that's why how important it is music, how important it is art mm hmm. And I don't know, writers, dancers, whatever kind of art. It's very important for us to explore and to express ourselves because that's the last thing we do.
15 Now. We can't say anything in social media because we will be blocked or we will be consured, because now that has controlled you know exactly. And you're so true, And that's why I talk about this stuff because you're so right on the money about art. Because they're taking art as schools, they're taking art away from people. During COVID, you know, there was no kind of art in that way for a couple of years. And I personally think that's the reason why we're all so angry and mad at each other. Because art is the greatest therapy for you as the artist, because it's cathartic to write a song and get it out of you and then even perform that song. But even us as the listener, you know, your your words help us through times that we need the help and things that we can relate to. And every person face the earth can take any music and kind of put their own interpretation to relate to it to help them through things.
26 Yeah, definitely, we have to endure and overcome this kind of situation as an artist and then and be together. That's why when I when I see, for example, another band like being rude with each other and fighting each other, that's ridiculous because out of the same thing, we are music, we are metal or whatever, and we should be together to be stronger. It's supposed music is supposed to be the great united and it is. And so I agree with you, like artists should just be able to express themselves and get along with each other. They don't have to be on the same page. Since when does the you know, the whole political thing of being on a side enter art. You know, of course people have political opinions and artists speak out about it. But I can speak out and you can speak out, and we can speak different things and not be destructive to each other. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. We can choose to like the day or you can choose to like the night, and it will be okay, whatever you prefer. It doesn't have to be this way. Absolutely, And so that's why I kin'd of going back to the beginning. That's why I was like digging that video because it just it hammered that point home of you
03 know, let's look at our ancestry and see how we can all just get along and be one people, human people. Yes, that's right, and that's the important thing, and that's the message we're trying to to announce to everyone, and not to convince, but to let them know that, yeah, you express yourself. You express yourself. We take it the way we want to take it, and we all can learn from each other. How about the new one you're releasing on the thirty first, tell us about that one. Oh yeah, that's one of my favorite songs all time, very catchy. It's called fire above Montain Below, which means in a very ancient book back in China, they write about something called the e Ching, which is a book which helps you explore the future, you know, like a like divination or fortune teller nowadays. Back but it was the very first one occultism book that provides that kind of approach to know about the future. So it works, it works like throwing some coins and it will tell you what what, what's what's coming on the next days, or on the next weeks
35 or on the next months for example. So Fire above Mountain Below is one of that message and it is it is, it's all. It talks about how you you have to overcome this kind of situation to improve yourself and to travel because there's no longer a safe place in the place you are currently and you know, so fire above Monty Below, it's it's a called to travel, to go away from where you are. Well, I'm all about that. I travel all the time and like getting away from where I am sometimes.
18 Yeah, So tell everybody how they can reach out to you, guys on socials, on your link tree on the web. But how they can check out all the new music, buy merch and all that good stuff. Yeah, we are all about in social media everywhere and Estra dur e s h you have you have to write verds and next the estador dot com our web page and we are on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and we have band camp.
