04 Hey, you love them too, sus Sure, I'm on W for see why for you Wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures of pipe Man on W four cy dot com. West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W for c Y Radio and I'm here with Buddy win Nice here at blood Sto. We are yeah. Wow, Like, what's it fucking feel like to be an artist playing at blood Stock.
06 It's great. It's our second time here as the band, but it's it's we we we well. The band members have been been part of Bloodside for quite a while. It's my first vessel blood So it's like twenty sixteen. Wow, Yeah, we've been We've been here almost every year. I think one at least one of us has been here every year. But yeah, as long as we can remember. So it's it's called a you know, to come and see the bands that we like and now are now being involved more in, you know, actually being part of this and I'm contributing. It's yes, so humbling. I think it's a cure festival too. I think in all respects the attendees, the artists and pressed. Just the way they treat you, how everything is one thing I was talking to about with Vicky. Yes, or it's it's pretty cool for an artist that everything so close by, you know, like sometimes for you to get the press or get the somewhere else, it's like a hike and it's like everything's like right there for you guys, because who wants to play and then walk all over the freaking place. Yeah yeah. The access for like where where we comes, when we come in and just getting into our calm site has been really good. I do remember it. It's been quite nice not having to do the the Punters walk this year, especially with all this stuff, it can be like it's it's quite brutal. I gotta be honest with you. Yeah, in terms of like getting everything you need from the festival, it's all like quite quite close proximity within jealous which is cool because artists should be treated
38 great. There is no festival without an artist. So that's why I love about blood Stock. They treat you guys the way you should be treated. Yeah. Yeah, we treated treated really well. You know. All the all the team here has been super friendly. All the stuff have been really helpful, even just like you know, turning up. I turned up yesterday. The guy's been here for a few days. I just come in and just you know, go see someone in a booth that like, hi, how are you? You know, here's here's your passing, check your caring over there and and have fun, right, And it's just really nice and there's a lot of people here are really friendly and you can just you know, you need anything. We want to go see the stage three yesterday just to just scope out where we're going and stuff. And they're like, scoop us up, take us in, give us a show around, you know, and a lovely a bunch of people. So it makes it so much easier too, Right, it's enough stress as it is, but then they have fuck ups and things going on would make it so much harder. Like when you're playing, you should have like no stress because you guys are just being the right state of mind getting up on stage. And while I absolutely agree with you, I should have no stress. I can assure you I'm gonna have some stress today. That's just a normal stress, right, Yeah, a normal stress, Like can I remember how to play drums? Yeah, that happens quite a lot where we'd sit down here like do I know what I'm doing? Who am I? And then and then the click track kicks in and and you go. Same for me, you know, as soon as the mike turns on, it's like I've done about I don't know, thirty six interviews this weekend. As you can tell my voice, it's
10 fried. My throat feels like somebody like is stabbing it, you know, from talking so much. And I was talking to my door yesterday and telling her and she's like, well, how are you interviewing people? I'm like the man that mike turns on, I forget all that shit. And as soon as I turn off, then it comes back. You know, you just get in the zone, like that's what you do. And you know it's like you probably relate to this too, getting up on stage. You could be totally nervous before you get up on stage, but as soon as you get up there gone, you're like in a in a zone. Yeah, as I said, as soon as that sus that click track starts pumping in my ear and I just turn into a robot and I get played.
56 Just do the pots right, and you know, and then for five minutes is over instantaneously. You know, you get to the end of it and you go, oh, okay, I only feel like I've been playing for a couple of minutes, but you know it's been a while. Yeah, no doubt. And then and then you're just gotta go and sit down somewhere for a minute and just press like here, how about I. So you were going to say something about that too, Yeah, it's just I just gonna reiterate what he said as soon as you get up there, especially so few stage because it's like a it's a step up for a new blood, which is whether you played before ye from far away, it looks far more intimpting than it is. And then you get there and it's like, oh, it's just like a slightly bigger stage, and what we've done, well we know what we normally play. Yeah, but yeah, it's it's gonna be well, I think the setting up it is gonna be like pretty stressed.
47 We we've got our own sound engineer with us, we've got our own stage hands. They're just gonna make it. And obviously the blood Stock crew at the Sophy ten it's gonna go seamless and we're gonna be on basically ready to go. I saying like five ten minutes and then we just all have this extra time just like prepare and warm up. And I saw it. Yeah, And you know mentioning about you know, having your own sound engineer, I think that's so important for a band because that person knows how your sound should be. Like, no matter how great a sound engineer of a festival is, if they're not yours, they don't know your sounds. Just like with me, the sound engineer does my show, knows what I'm gonna say, how I'm gonna act, knows all the cues and knows exactly.
36 And I'm tough to engineer because I have a pretty loud voice. And then I'll go up and down and they have to sit on that board the whole time I'm talking and catch me. Somebody that doesn't know me, he's not gonna catch it. Yeah. Well, we've we've known our guy for quite a long time. He's he basically doing all this. He's basically the local sound sec in Bristol, you know, and he's done enduring in front of house for a lot of like touring bands like internationally and stuff like many his last breath, he mixed of bloodstock the main stage set. They last play here. He's done quite La Phil for two years, killing joke. Danny was just in here yesterday, Yeah, because so yeah, I heard he was flitting around. So funny enough. La Phil are actually from my hometown?
25 Really yeah yeah, ipswitch well around the sort of southeast they're they're from. They're probably the most I think I've seen one of those articles. It's like the top things people know your your town for, and it is just quit La Phil, like where I come from. That's wild. You know, it's wild because I don't know if you have this experience. But when I'm back here, it's different than being out there. There's even artists that I know. They'll come up to me and they'll be like, hey, what's up pipe man? I'm like, who the fuck was that? You know, because you're like a different zone. So Danny was in here, I was dark, geting photographer and ex me and Linke. I know him, who the fuck is that? I can't draw it out? And I was like, oh when an idiot. He does look different without all the makeup and the stage gear doesn't rightly coming back to your coming back to your point about like your your crew and sound engineers, you know, for us gave our sound engineer. He's he's another member of the band. Yeah, Like he's hugely important. Without him, you know, all the pre pro and everything that we do is a nightmare without someone who knows what to ride, when to put the big snare bombs, when to prep everyone for the big sub drops, you know, and just having someone there who's experienced, who knows your set, who's you know, it really helps destress us.
48 But it also means that we can focus on doing a good performance. He can make sure that it sounds good. Yeah, and you know it's in good hands. Like it's like, you know, that's one left thing you have to worry about absolutely or get pissed about afterwards. So tell everybody how they reach out to you guys on socials, on the web and check out your music, tour dates and most importantly by your march. But we should we share everything we've we've got our in obviously, we've got Facebook pages, Instagram, it's just Embodiment Official. Just tug down into Facebook. We've got all of our links on there. Next tour dates after this we're actually going out with You can pronounce the name Cardibis. We're doing four days in September with Cardibiss. We've got Brighton Wellingborough, London and it's London, right, Yes, it will come to me. It'll come to you just just bui probably right after this interview, like picking my head Bridgewater. That's it there, it is, yeah, cool. So anything else you want to share with the lizards that we haven't discussed, the railing thing, need to know about you guys and anything coming up. The set is going to be heavy.
03 It's the last thing on the actual festival which has got extreme mel drums based vocals everything. It's like there, yeah, but it's it's also a good representation of who we are. I think it's a really refined set. We spend a lot of time on it. It's a nice blend of like newer material, a little material, and we're just gonna have fun as much as fun as we can. That's the key right there. If artists having aren't having funder in the wrong business, and when you're having fun, we can see it and then we relate a lot better and we have fun. And there's going to be a lot of comedy as well, right Like that, so you know, we're a very serious technical, death and old band, but also we really do like to have fun. So there's going to be a lot of silly things that happened tonight. There's going to be some slam, there's going to be some sub drops, there's going to be some big snare bombs, blast beats. People are going to be running around.
58 It's going to be an event. It's going to be fun, and that's what it should be, right, Oh absolutely, it would probably be the most fun set of the whole blood Stock. Well, that's what we're raiming for, that's what and with an honor to be on the Sophie stage, right, I let it represent and forget being bigger, just what it represents. Yeah, I mean it's I mean, what can you say. I mean we all know the story, right, so it's like, you know, to to be part of that and to be able to contribute to raising awareness and stopping that type of thing from happening in the future is you know, it's it's incredibly important to everyone here. Yeah, we shouldn't even be dealing with that bullshit. In twenty twenty three, A Moore agreed, agreed, So let's make it better every time and man can't wait for your set here at blood Stock. Thanks for being here and thanks for being on the Adventures of plate Man. It's a pleasure. Thanks so much. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man and U for CUI Radio M
