04 Hey, you listening too? Is such? Sure? I'm coming for see why for you? Wake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on w f C y dot com West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. What is he?
45 A live baby web the chains around way a man. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures Pipe Man W four C Why Radio and on here West David from Elimination, Neil from Elimination, Marcus from Elimination Nice here at Blood stark Man, Oh my god. Second, Yeah, we did Yeager stage in twenty right, that was the one where it was really weird because it was the first time anyone had seen each other for about two years the stage then and then we came back to do the new Bloods just now and it was pretty good. It's fucking awesome. That's great. I'm not gonna I'm definitely not gonna complain. It was great, right, Yeah, it was my first time and it was working awesome, nice And that must have been weird in twenty twenty one, right, it was bizarre. We've had a few lineup changes since then a little bit, but yeah, the twenty twenty one one was I think we were on the Thursday and we got a call on the Sunday saying could we fill in for someone, and so we said yes. We had programmed drums at the time, our old front man Neil and me were there and we had to get a standing guitarist on three days notice. Wow. Absolutely, now and yeah, that was the most stressful thing I've ever fucking done. I'm sure, man, that's like, that's rough shit right there. But you pulled it off. Yeah,
19 it went back, so you must have done good job. So I see you're wearing the Vacking twenty twenty three shirt. Yea, it should have like the shirts should have like storms and flooding wash it. It needed it twice. That was the muddiest fucking festival I've ever done in my life, right, Oh my god. Personally I do like two three a year for like the last ten fifteen years, and I have never seen mud like that ever. Yeah. So I was supposed to cover that and at the last minute I had this voice in my head said you might not want to do that.
01 So I listened and I changed my flight to London, and I was like, thank god, Yeah it was it was great. But it was. It was a tough time getting in and just walking about was difficult. Yeah. There's a festival I do in the United States called Louder than Life and they had to change the venue after one of the years a few years ago because it had such bad flooding. Yeah, and the festival was cut in half. And when I was leaving, I was this deep in mud. I lost my shoes in the mud trying to leave the venue. Right.
45 So then I saw a buck and I'm like, yeah, I wouldn't have wanted to do that again. I do it. I nearly do it every year, and I would hundred percent I would recommend going right, but maybe wait for it to be not flooded. Yeah, exactly. So tell our listeners a little bit about your music. You know, not from a you know, genre, playing a label, boxing you in perspective, but how you as an artist look at the music. Whoa look at that. I mean, Elimination at its heart is a thrash band, like it's been going for about since about the two thousand and seven. Like I said, We've had a few lineup changes since then, but it is and will always be a thrash band at its heart. We've got our fourth album is in the works at the moment. I can't go into too much detail about it, but it's it's getting there. And I'd say that still sticks with the thrash but heavier thing so far. You know, it's funny about you saying that, is it like one of the reasons I take this interviews. I'm a total thrash metal ahead, so you won me at thrash, okay, But I like how you said thrash but heavier because it's funny. I was going at festival in the States called Aftershock, and me and my bro that used to go to all the thrash shows in the eighties. We're driving up north and we were reminiscing about the old days of taking a Greyhound bus up
20 to the Bay Area when Slayer and Metallica left LA because we used to see him in LA and then they bailed on us and left us with the ship hair bands. And then we're listening to some stuff and we're like, He's like, didn't this stuff used to be faster and heavier? And I'm like, no, not really, but it was the beginning and it's heavier and faster now here listen to this. Yeah. He's like, yeah, that's how I remember it. I'm like, yeah, but that's not how it was. So that's that's why I liked what you said, because you know, some of the thrash in the beginning thrash, I don't know if it was really thrash. I mean, I think the three biggest influences on elimination as it is, I'll probably and you guys can jump in whenever the fuck you want with this, Creator, Death, and Slayer, like they're the big three for me that jump out as not doing a black album. So it's funny you should say that, because well, Slayer's my number one.
30 I was at their first show ever, and to me, their true thrash because Lombardo and Jeff we're punks, yeah, and Carry and Tom well, Kerry was a medalhead. Tom didn't even know about Medal until we started Slayer. So that's where the thrash came from, the combining the medal and the punk. Now, it's so funny. All weekend long, everybody's been talking about Death, so that's cool and Creators badass obviously, right, And then but the interview I had recently, they were like, it's gonna be unpopular, but I don't consider Metallica thrash. And you were talking about the Black album, I'm gonna kill them all person, you know, Like me and my bros. We said, if you could take fight fire with fire and take it off ride to Lightning, put it, don't kill them all and then and then take Jumping the Fire and put it on Ride to Lightning, then kill them All is the perfect album. But when the Black Album came out, all of us old school Metallic fans were like, fuck, those posers were not listening to I love the Black album, but start a thrash album. No, it's not, And I like it now, you know now that I'm not like a gatekeeper teenager, you know. But yeah, it's not thrash. It's more like rock. Yeah, it's It's pretty much
01 the birth of hard rock as a genre, right exactly. So I want to talk about this album cover because I dig album k It's like kids miss nowadays. That is freaking badass. Describe that to us. So that is the artwork for our newest single, which Icon of Despair. We got it from a guy called head Split Design in France who's actually done nearly all of our artwork since two thousand and seventeen. So he did the Echoes of the Abyss Covery did the Goodsy Beast cover, and he's a fucking phenomenal Artist's just he's just got the best, I mean, and it just fits what we do so perfectly. So unless we have some sea like as I'm looking at it, unless we had some huge musical shift and did a black album, I can't see why we'd use another artists because he's just like he fits us perfectly. And if you did a black gul woman you win then, oratists just like a tattoo or stepped blacks out. I think we probably put a stick man in the corner of it instead of the Metallica logo though, or something like that. Right, So tell everybody all they can connect you guys on sol sials, on the web, get your new music, and most importantly by your merch. Yeah, we are everywhere in terms of socials.
28 I think the only thing we don't have is threads or whatever the things that they've launched to rival Twitter is Yeah, I don't. We might, I might have done it. I can't remember. I hope you haven't. I think there's about four people on there and then mostly bad people. Anyway. Yeah, we're on Facebook, We're on YouTube, We're on all of them, all streaming stuff. Spotify title merch site is Elimination Band, dot Band, so o wor on bank camp as well on Facebook. It's got links there. It is anything else you want to share with the listeners we haven't covered yet that they need to know about you guys. Bloodstock is the best place ever. Thank you so much for having us. Nice I agree, by the way, as a press person, I think it's the best place ever. They know I treat press, they know I treat or it is, you know, back in the States, not the same. So it's great to have you here at Bloodstock. And thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thank you so much for having us. Thank you, thank you very much. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man.
