04 Hey, you have done too sensum. Wow, crazy youngro Why become of America. It's time for the Adventures of White Man on W four c hy dot com west pom Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, The white Man was time the Boys bad news cos it's just bad news.
59 This is pipe Man here on the Avengers Pipe Man W four cy Radio. And I'm here with. Boots Electric on W four c Y Radio. Nice and on. Hello Jenny V. Hello death Metal. I love your hair, by the way, thank you so much. Mine was blue and i went back to normal for a little while, and I'm kind of bored. Are you really normal though? No? Just my hair just beautiful. That's right. Normal is no fun. And I wouldn't be here if I was normal. Know, none of us would be. I did get the lucky chance, like rarely do I get at this area during the day. But I did catch your set, oh, Ralph, and you. Guys killed it, but you always kill it, like That's one of the things about you, guys, is your live show.
43 And I mean every time I've ever seen you, it's like you're just making the crowd very happy. Well, you know, this is the greatest job in the world. I love it, and there's a recorded element to it, but the live element is what keeps it alive. You know, agreed, And I've always made Eagles of Death Metal built around the idea that I wanted it to be more like Ringling Brothers than like anything else. In fact, eventually I want there to be an audition for the new GENYV and the new Boots Electric when you know we're one hundred years from now, when we're long gone and we're just one of many pictures on the wall. That's always how I've wanted the band to be. And you know, the audience. The only reason we get to do this is because these kids and these people love rock and roll. Yeah, so it makes them the most important. So I'm here to kiss their ass.
35 I love that attitude because not everybody has that attitude, which is bizarre to us. That's strange to me. The best thing about Eagles of Death Metal, besides getting to play rock and roll music with my best friends, is seeing the joy that we bring people yesternight. It's a party, it's a celebration, it's a victory. And why not love the people that you're making happy instead of like giving them shit. There's some ares like give them shit. It give them shit. It blows my mind, I know. Right. Essentially, what you're saying is, Wow, you've spent your hard earned money that you didn't have to spend on making it possible for me to have this great life. And I'm going to repay you by shitting on you, right, and there you go. Never you know, you get further with sugar than with salt.
18 And I also think that makes you, guys true artists, because a true artist wouldn't think the way. Those other people think. The true artists would think the way you think. Thank you, brother. I only know how I think, so. There you go. I don't even know how I think, but I do know that even the worst blowjob is still amazing. And that's my attitude about rock and roll. You know, I can one hundred million percent agree with you on that one. And we try to be the best blowjob. We do, We really try. See, maybe that's what it takes the night the whole world today. I love the way saying, you know, we really do, we really. Try, right See, night after night, night we'll get there.
58 Night after night. It's it's the best blowjob you ever had at Eagles of death Metal, You're welcome. That's the Eagles of death Metal motto, bio credo. How many times have people come up to you, fans that like you, but they went to your first show thinking you were a death metal band. It's funny you should say that, man, because it's not just fans like sometimes We've been booked at festivals where I've gone up to the promoter and I've been like, you do know we're not actually a death metal band, right? We've always had a motto that In my opinion, Little Richard is the first death metal artist de nice. Death Metal is the essence of what rock and roll is.
40 It's the you know, as I said earlier, people never talk about how heavy your dick is. They talk about how hard it is. So hard is what it's about for us, and death metal is the hardest. Yes, you know what I mean. But little nothing's harder than Little Richard. That's happened to do it in a satin suit. There you go. I love that that way of putting it. It's very cool. Now here's a good question. How many press people have interviewed you and not known you weren't death metal I bet it's happened. It's happened. It's happened a few times, you know, because you know I used to be a journalist first. I know how it works. You know you're getting you doing you, and it's not a bad thing. But I'm just saying to me, it's funny when that right, or when they think I'm Joshua Hammie.
24 Right, yeah, or when they think I'm Joshua Hammy, that's even better, and both I go. For it when like so, if you think I'm anyone else, I'll go for it. And we had to layover in Shanghai once a long time ago, two hundred Chinese school kids thought I was the dude from MythBusters. I signed autographs for an hour. We got off our tour bus at New Orleans into a like some sort of convention of drunk people. They thought I was James Hetfield. I signed autographs. That's great as James Debland, but my autographs. I could see the Headfield too. I could see that. I mean, Lars sucks my dick, you know what I mean. And then the only other one I've ever been mistaken for was when I was younger. I used to get mistaken for Rivers. Cuomo actually got backstage once I'm in Atlanta and this dude goes you guys were great last week, and I went cool, Can I go backstage? Yeah? Awesome?
15 So get this. You'll love this. And one year at Louder than Life. A few years back when my hair was longer, I'm walking through the backstage to go to media, and the security guards were stopping me to get my autographed because guess what food fighters were headlining? They thought I was grol That's amazing. Yeah, without all the scumbaggery. I mean, yeah, I didn't mean that. Oh man, that's great. Question is it? Does laws give a good blowjob? But you know, I have to say this. I think most people will never know because they're too busy punching them in the mouth instead of dicking them in. Oh but I think he's more of a power bottom. I mean, if I had to be honest and guess, I would say.
06 He brought it up. That's I had to finish it. Uh, the bee likes you, that's Lars's bait. Dude. He's transformed himself into a bee. He transformed himself into a dog and had sex with a goat. Oh my God, come on, dude, is it on me? It's I think it's yeah, man, he just likes you. He's still there, is here. What is this guy doing? Are we on his nest? He's pretty Yeah. I don't know if you guys know this about bees, but they the single growth industry of farming, kills so many bees every year. You know, they bring three million bees a year up from South America to pollinate all their props here and then they kill.
01 Them, kill them. Why do they kill them? That's stupid, Like, and we need bees. Avocado farms kill everything. Wow, So that's no good. Rethink your liberal attitudes. Be nice to the bees. We can't do anything without the bees. That's right, exactly. And they sting so awesome. What you know. I love this. I'm enjoying myself. Thank you for see. I love hearing that because to me, Okay, I do a lot of festivals and I hear a lot of other press people and sometimes I'll sit there, I'm like, if I was the artist right now, I'd be slitting my throat. Okay, Like some of the questions I hear.
44 That's why I asked you. You hilarious, Like that's why. I asked about if there were press people that actually thought you were a death metal and didn't. Know to point out, this is called show business, right, The show is right now. So you know, dudes like you who've been doing this for so long, we owe you a debt of gratitude. Well, thank you. More than anything else, because you're the one that's making it possible for anyone to even listen to the bullshit what you're gonna say, you know what I mean? See, I love that. Taking the time you produce a show and you bring the message to the people. That's why it's so critical to be able to trust your press. And I already trust you. I already can tell by the questions you're asking me that you love music. Yeah, and but you're doing something that is just as important as what we do in terms of keeping this thing alive.
30 And I always think of it like, if I were the artists, how would I want the interview to go? You know, because when you're an artist, you're a creative. You're not supposed to be a business person. So to me, this could be the worst part of your job. If you have a bunch of boring press people asking you, who'd you get your. Mood name, I'm not going to be boring. Well you're not. That's that's how I look at And you know how many times are you having fun like that? Or just looking at you and they don't even know what to say. All the time. I mean, I think that's half of why people come see us is because we love each other and we smile at each other on stage. I mean it may be that. I mean I could almost be equal to that as to the music, because what in anomaly to see a band enjoying themselves and liking each other and loving each other.
12 Oh, it's too and you can totally tell. You can totally tell when bands are up there and hate each other and dialing it in. These are my best friends, and then. You're having a great time up there, Like I watch you guys up there and it's like they're just having a fucking time in their life. Where we've won the giant lottery of life. I mean, these are my best friends on earth, and they're the quality of people that I would kill and die for. You know, Eagles of Death Metal has gone through some weird shit. We survived a terror attack. Yeah, and when that happened for the band, members that came after that, they had to be uniquely amazing because it wouldn't have been easy. I mean, I wouldn't have necessarily wanted to jump on stage with a band. It might be shot at again, right I mean, but not only able to do that, but then to bring something to the band that makes it live longer and bigger. Jenny v is one of the most impressive people I've ever known in my life. And that's not just because you know she's in my band. She's in my band because she's an impressive person and she's shown herself to be one of, quite frankly, one of the best friends I've ever had.
09 And what's so, our world has enlarged it and enriched it and brought people into our world that have enlarged it and enriched it. And it's difficult to express these things to a person. So I try to take advantage of a moment's like right now, you know, so that I can do that, because I want people to know how I love them, especially when they're important to me. And this gang that we're in is special and it's special to me, and it wouldn't be if it weren't for the people that are in it. I joined the band. We had been hanging out. I knew they needed a bass player. We had some mutual friends. I was hanging out with Jesse's. I walked over there one day and walked you walked over Yeah, I remember that.
50 Wow, and opened the door. Hey, Jenny Hages. He said it would you like to join the Special Forces of Rock Nice? Yes I would, and I will not let you down. And that's how it happened. And never has and here we are at aftershow. Never has let us down. That was almost eight years ago. And wow, you have girls or boys in the band. We just have the most badass people that there are players. That's all that should count, really like. He's one of the most badass bass players in the world. Leab is one of the greatest drummers. That's why they're in the band. And because I have a great mom, I'm able to actually live that. So there, you know, you don't get the boys club, you get the rock and roll super blow job club. Exactly.
32 There you go. And you know what I love about that is the fact that you. And I both grew up in a time where oh for bid blah blah blah blah blah, I think women, especially metal now, are like some of the most badasses that ever performed in metal. We don't need a separate category, you know, right, I'm a bass player. Yeah, but there is a truth to the reality of their so like, for example, the way I look at it is to me personally, having a Woman of the Year be someone who was formerly a man is kind of insulting. But if you have to put it in there, she's not only a female, she's just one of the most beautiful females you're ever gonna see, who happens to be simultaneously one of the most badass, unstoppable killing machines.
17 What a great way to describe you. I'll take it. But it's true. It's true, you know. In our band, I pride myself on the fact that it goes to the one who should get it. You know, if you're there, it's because you should be, Yeah, And that's true of everything in life. Wherever you are, it's where you're supposed to be, no doubt about it, and you can't change that. And Jenny's here because she's supposed to be. It's an honor and a privilege to be in this band, and it's an honor and privilege. To get to play rock and roll as a job. Just like when Jesse says on stage, it's the best. Job in the world. And you know what, it's so refreshing to hear that, because there's so many artists that don't say that.
02 You know what's funny though, you're right, But have you noticed it? When a band like us comes around to other artists, sometimes those artists will be like, wait, is it okay to have fun? And we have many times if we had moments with bands where they're like, dude, we just enjoyed ourselves, thank you. It's like, okay, I guess he makes his own artists village. Like you said you want it to grill today, we might not have enough. Time be gause. Normally I do my own barbecue, like I'm here for. The artists too, nice artist. I love that, and I. Want to get them all in and make them all mine. See. I have like three categories of artists and I. Call this category to icons, mis the middle, and this's the beginners. The beginners are always way cool because they haven't gotten the ego yet. The icons are always so cool because they don't think of themselves as icons. They just think of themselves as doing what they do and having a blast doing it and doing it for other people.
59 That's what make to you guys icons. Well, you have to live for others. I mean, and in the corneast of senses, that's how I look at it. And I live for the fans. Well, we live for you. And I love that you heard after Shocker. Is there any final things you want to let the fans know about that we haven't touched on yet. There's two types of bands, one that jack's off for everyone to see, and one that fucks everyone in the room. You have to decide which band you want to be in? Nice, which band do you want to be in? Oh, we clearly fucked everybody in the room. That's it. That's it. Perfect answer. See, that's why I went to her. She had the perfect answer. I love it. So great to talk to you again, and thanks for all you do for music and for all of us, and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man.
48 You are listening to the pipe Man Radio show on W four c Y Radio. Leave them Alone news, it's just bad news. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on W for Cui radio,
