04 Hey, you have done to censure from Wow crazy Young Row Why become of America. It's time for the Adventures of White Men on W four c HY dot com. West pomp Beach is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. I try to nerve and vibrate the word my cat. God Bower co the Cabby, I try can nerve and vibrate the word my cat. All back on my bridges about. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with c J from Drowning Pool and Ryan also from Drowning Pool. I like how you did it too. It was like kind of a little slayer thing to it, Like Ryan Roy. That's that's a that's a tired dome god. I don't be bad. I don't want that Christian Baleman. I'm Batman. No, that is a tired voice. I like to think of my Batman as like Ryan McCombs. He should do it. I like to
37 think of my Batman like a like a young Shania Twain. Oh yeah, tell us, what tell us? Why? Maybe maybe Bette Midler Bet Middler, Bet Middler is Batman. I think that'd be bat Middler. Is that tomatoes? Was that? I think? So? I think you should combine fried green tomatoes with Batman. And that's what you got. You got Bette Midler as Batman. And it's not Julia Roberts as the Joker. Okay, she got that big. It's a brit like the ghost buses with all ladies. But but then it's it's Batman. But it's not like Batwoman. But it's all and you had to go to the today it's twenty twenty four. She's not Batwoman, she's Batman, bad person. There you go, or just bat shit, just the bats. We're in the United States. I forgot you right right? You know what's funny that you brought that up?
27 So pipe man, there's a whole play on my show, like relative to Batman, Like I have the pipe cave, I have the pipe puter, the pipe phone. Like if you air dropped me something right now, it would pull up on your ses pipe going with you, electrician, you're running pipe? Are you just laying a pipe? Like? Here's what's funny. Every band asks that, and multiple bands maybe you want to do it too, have like before they knew what it was, they just wrote a song, right in the interview and like I have pipe man songs that bands have done during the end of man a man like a bread fan best pipe man. I thought you were man. I thought you were going to spoon man, spoon man four point saddle pipe being a man electrician. That's that's I like to think of my pipe man. I got bread fan now too.
14 Yeah, you got bread fan on the brain right there? Like man, there you go, there it is, you got it? So yeah, my last name is Piper. That's where it comes from. That's a cool last last name. Man. Right, nice, but even my kids call me pipe man. Now it's fine. So I have some music. I have some trivia for you. Not music trivia, but trivia. I'm asking every band and let's see if you win. You ready, I bet we don't. Why are those chairs colored? So it looks like on TV that there's a lot of people in the crowd when there isn't. Nice. It's all great to me. Maybe I'm colorblind. Oh no, yeah, yeah, I see what you see. That person right up there, I just got through gray wire. They're all gray. That person took my lunch money when I was in fifth grade. That fucker. Let's go get them guy, just Garrett, you see all the people that took the lunch money.
13 You got to throw his change back in the face already, I can tell you after like thirty interviews, this is probably the most fun. So hey, we'd have a good time, because that's what it's about. We should be having fun. Is in my drink right now? How many bucks? That's what That's why you have acid reflux right there? Hungry. You can't be drinking dirt. That's what my mom used to tell me all the time too. Instead trade for some mescal and eat the worm. Have you ever done that? I have? And I've also I drank from the snake. There was a snake. Oh and we're over and God were overseas and it was pretty pretty sick and discusting. But they had a snake and some kind of moonshining thing and I was all rock and roll. We all what I did, it was like, wow, throw up in front everybody, don't you do it? Just down aside, keep it down there. Wow.
58 Yeah. When I was a teen major before, when you didn't need a passport to get to Mexico, I lived in La and I would drive my friends down to the border and we'd walk over and go party in Tijuana and yeah, I annoy show, but it's really a horse show. And the next thing, you know, it's like it's kind of sick, like why am I watching this? And you're fucking eating worms? So like it it's just normal. Yeah, he's got some memories from Tijuana. I can tell. No, I crossed the border. I didn't expect it to go here. Some of my family's a border town in Brownsville. So like we went, we went from how you doing to Tijuana hooker. I don't know what I know? Right? A donkey a donkey show, that's ita maybe drowning pull From now on, should bring a donkey on stage and have a donkey show. Like we had a thing with goat. His name was Josiah.
54 His name is Josiah. He's the donkey. And do you do goat yoga? Oh yes, I took the kids to go. It's funny you mentioned that, and it was fun like they had fun with it. But yeah, like all the mats that had like a little a little trails of poop on it, so we had to throw their yoga mats away, but they did. I had to watch the matter. It's fine. It was fine. Yeah, I mean listen, Yeah, you haven't lived life till goats pooped on you. You know, it's very relaxing. Why do you bring it up? It's very relaxing, Like goat poops on you. You pay money for these things, nowaday, Yeah, people pay money to get pooped on. I'm thinking we should never hang out. Maybe we should talk about these things. So let's switch gears. We're here at Yeah, let's talk about music. What a concept? Right? That's is that what you do?
43 I think? Is that why I'm here? Or we are you guys racing today? You know, I wanted to get I was on the track a few times. I didn't realize how Stanard it is. I know, it's like, it's crazy, right, I'm taking it to be a part of this though. I aspect of all doing there today, which is what brings everybody together today, is the music aspect of everything. And that Danny brought us into the fold on this one and then the rest of the Dandy Wemmer shows this summer. It's just cool to be a part of it because I mean, for us, I mean it's absolutely awesome to be able to take the stage and and spend time with the people that allow you to do what you do, you know, the things out there and stuff and the people that take time out of their lives to come out to the shows like this. But it's also very cool to be a part of it because, like backstage, you get to see a lot of bands and a lot of crew guys that you've spent time with on the road, and you get to kind of catch up. You know, how the kids are doing and how the family's doing and all that, and so it's nice on so many different aspects to be back into doing this show. Like this show and the rest of the shows are coming up this summer again, and just a big, big thank you to Danny for having us out. Yeah, you know what, Like one thing I can say, I do all kinds of festivals here UK, Europe. The one thing that every artist ever says is all kinds of praise about Danny Wimmer and the festivals, because most of the other festivals, you guys don't have a good time at. Usually it's he he's gotten
16 now down. Because I've lived in the UK for the last seven years, so I'm very familiar with the like the Hell fest in France, and the Download in the UK, and then Bloodstock in the UK and and you you know, Whacking in Germany and all. You know, there's so many good ones, grass pop and everything, and it's a science over there. It's a way of life over there. You can't ask somebody in the UK if they're going to download because they look at you like yeah, three heads, like right, So I'm going down exactly right. And so it's like they have the festival thing down to a science over there, and Danny has the same thing going on the States, and it's it's awesome to see say it all the time that he took the template from over there where they do it right, because a lot of the other festivals they're like being at the fair, you know, even with the food. Danny always has good food here and he takes care of the artists. And when I found that's a press persus over there. They look at media like media like they treat you differently than over here. But Danny also treats you good here. You know, it's like because he just knows that it's about all of us together, one big family that makes that massive crowd that's out there today. We have that connection today on stage. Man, it was amazing to play for so many people. Did you did blow your mind how crowded it was when you played?
46 Did you know you never know what to expect them. It was just so many people, a lot of fans that we played for, you know. I mean, we've been doing this someone with twenty five years now, and it did see Oh hey see you see we're playing a song. You know, to see so many people that you know and they just reconnect with Man, it was amazing, dude. Yeah, and I mean it is. I think this is the highest attended festival of all Danny Wimmer festivals ever since the beginning. I had a lot of people there. So the footage I've seen online from the past few days has been just amazing. And some of the special moments like Ann Wilson going up with a disturbed Oh now you're hitting a sore spot for me. I gotta tell you why. No, it's a great one. I'll tell you why. Here's a funny story.
28 So I was at ICP got sprayed with fago, you know, I was up in the photo pit area and yeah, well that was gonna happen. And then I'm like I had to go see Kerry King. Okay, amen? So I left and like the ICP crowd like they're on the far little stage. I couldn't get out, like I was trying to get out, and then I finally got to carry what I thought was Kerrie's stage. Fought my way through the crowd to get where the pitt's going to be. But I didn't really have to fight. I knew there was something wrong right then because it's like people were just moving out of my way this I'm like, this is a slayer crowd. I should be having an elbow people to get to the pit, and it's like they're just let me walk to the pit, like and then when the set starts, there's like this red and white lights and so it was very believable that was carry King because of red and white lights. And then David Draymond came out and I was like, fuck, I'm at the wrong stage. One thing. Oh it sounds like like is this water? Is this sprite? You know? He's like, I have you still love both? Is this pe or is this like ginger Arow?
41 I don't know right, but you love them both? They disturbed and the carry king them both. You just thought you were going to see one. Well, that's why he hit a sore spot. It didn't at all. I think I know, right, that's why he hit a sore spot. Because then I'm like, okay, we're at here, and I'm like, let's go. And I had to go through this never ending Disturbed crowd like it was never ending. I thought I was just doing circles. I turned to who I was with, I was like, this is never ending. I hope we went the right way. And then I finally got to Kerry King and then I hear Ann Wilson's on stage with Disturbed. I'm like, fuck me, Oh dude, you missed it. Yeah, I missed it. How cool is that? Man? Right? But I was at carry King and I was in the pit for Rain and Blood and Black Magic, so trade off. I was hoping. I think one of these nights, one of these festivals were on the same night as as Carrie. I'm looking forward to that because I haven't seen that far. I surprised him before the interview of Who's singing? Talking about it? Man, I gotta give him some ship when I see him because his raiders are sucking ass right now.
46 So yeah, right, do you know who the singer is. Let's see if you know better than your bandmate here, dude, Death, Angela my favorite bands, yep. I mean it was badass it carry King Wow. I can't wait to see it. I can't wait till I'm at the festival and get to see Kerry King and Slayer on the same day, because that's gonna happen this year. It's gonna happen. It's happening this year. Slayer like fucking Slayer, but better yet. Drowning Pool. Drowning Pool. We still can't. That's better than Slayer, better than carry King? Whoa, whoa? Back it up? I play guitar account the four come on right, it's Slayer, Raindom Blood. I remember, I remember. If I can talk about you can talk about whatever. Ye yeah. It was it singing for a band Soil, and we were going from Germany to England to do a festival to do download and our bus broke down so we had to make that drive like in second gear. So we're creeping to England and they're like, you're going miss your time slot and everything, and all of a sudden they were like, you go miss your time slot. But Slayer hasn't arrived yet either, so if Slayer doesn't show up, you're gonna have their time slot. And the only thing I could think, WHOA, The only thing I think of. The only thing I think of was was, man, I want to play because we were on main stage that year, so I was like, I want to play, but I don't want to be the guys that replaced fucking Slayer, right because their crowd kick our ass.
24 But but we ended up missing our slot. They came in just in the niked times, so they got the Slayer slot, But Drowning Pool had us on stage and we did Halo at the end of At the end of the Drowning Pool says nice. Nice, what you got going after Rockville? What else that's going on? We got one day off and then we're back on the road again with Saliva Saliva Us and Abuff Snakes and we're basically doing that tour package in between some festivals and different bike rallies and the stuff that we're doing. Nice June July, man, we just it's been stacked and then you're gonna go back out with sol August. Were you busy? Yeah, I've got some other stuff, but all summer long, it's dronical.
05 I love it. It's awesome to be on all through the year, I mean until the end of the year, back and forth with the drawing pol stuff. There's we've got, We've got Louder than Life and After Shock coming up, and what is that August After Shock's in October that's my birthday weekend and Louder in Life than September. All right, So yeah, we're doing those two with dates connected in between. And we haven't announced the bands we're taking out with us that time yet, so I can't say anything about that. But yeah, we're just staying busy four writing new music. We're recording new Yeah, we've done recorded some new music. Nice. We're just enjoying. I want to again. I want to hear about the new music and see, I like what you just said there, enjoying. Like, if you're not having fun in this industry, you're in the wrong industry. Fun doing it. Don't stop doing it, man, don't waste your time, don't wish your life, like, find what makes you happy and find your passion and go after it. And it's not ever easy, you know, we gotta fight for it. But enjoy life, man, have fun.
00 With it. Absolutely. I'll cut out the negative people in your life, cut out all that bullshit and get on with your happy self exactly. And like you can tell when you look at a band on stage, you can tell if they're having fun or if they're just going through motions. And if they're going through emotions, I'm out no matter how good they are. I want I want to see bands like you that are up there just having a fucking blast. I mean, we're friends again, Mike, Steve and myself in high school. We know you know Ryan since like two thousand thousand and one. It's just awesome to play in the band with your best friends, like for years and years and years. That's real. On stage, that's okay. And if we have a band now you see that too. But hey, it's fun to drummers stuck behind the drums so you can spit on he can't get up anyway. There it is. Tell everybody how they can check out all your merch and your socials and your tour dates, Instagram and the Facebook. We are setting up the online store here with AKT. They keep calling me and I just haven't set it up yet, so that's my fault. But we'll have a lot of cool one of the kind time stuff on there would you'll be able to get to through all the other the typical social media's and all that crap. There's also the drownning pool dot com, dop your mom dot your mom dot com, dot net, dot live dot you should start a dot drowning pool so you could be drowning pool dot drowning pool. Oh there you go? Can you do that? And how about okay? So, as you know, a friend of mine is your merch girl and she makes some cool did she make cool ship for your merch?
33 She hasn't done all the cool stuff we've talked about yet. She's been pretty busy. She tells us she will, but she does because she's a liar, and we have that on record. She's awesome. We've been working together hand in hand, but I keep bringing new things into it fold. It's fun for me, like all of us in the band, like we're again we're independent the label, the management and we all do you know, everybody takes a different role on the band, and for me lately with the merch, especially with the tourist coming up, it's fun to make different new and stuff. So I'm just I'm kind of throwing a lot out of right out the gate. So she has a lot of cool ideas of stuff that she's gonna do as well. Nice thank you, Melisten. She she hasn't really handled it well either. She's too busy lying. I love it every once, so I don't know what's going on, and I see her mouth moving, I know it's just lies. Is she the band politician? You might as well? Yeah? Yeah right, and she's amazing unique. Is there anything else you want to share with the listeners? We haven't covered yet.
37 A lot of liar besides sposed to have been a liar. No, No, we do have some news music coming out. Man, we're gonna be torn. Come check out the show because we also do this thing and I love this about our band. Now drawing to pool. We have a set list and we change it every night. But we put that on stage and even throughout the set it changes again, so I never know exactly what we're gonna play. And I love this and sometimes like a fan to like call out a song and stuff and we'll just play it. So we're that kind of band. We're very interactive. Well, you know, we want we want to play your phone whatever song you want to hear. See that's killer. I love doing that because at somebody that goes to so many shows, like sometimes I get bored of seeing some of the bands because I can repeat even what they're saying in between songs. Oh regiment and like we don't you know, we don't'll fly by the seat of our pants before we're flying by the seat of our pants, and it's I love that happen. That's so mean. And for me, it's not a it's not a set set list and like a you know, nothing's like coordinated and stuff, and we just fall ast backwards any good times. Well, that's the way it should be.
33 That's what live music should be, you know. On the album that's different. Live it's just do whatever feels right. And I want I want to know, like I went to this set and it's unique. Nobody else saw that set, and that's the way it should be. It's like the Grateful Dead just louder. It's so funny you said that, because that's exactly what I was taking my vine, you know, Like you guys need to start it's cult following, like the Dead that will go to every show because they don't want to have that fear of missing out. Do we every night with something different going on? And I love that any you know, even if you even if we did for some miracle play the same set, even the crowd has a different vibe that they're giving off. Yeah, I never know where we're gonna play. See that shows your true musicians and truly love the art because even what you just said, there's different fans, different vibes.
26 Do you have to feed off of that? Yeah? Night as a as a vocalist on stage, there's like there's a couple of things that I say that I want to get across each night. There's a couple of points that I want to make. Yeah, Other than that, like you really did you say today that Melissa was a liar on the set? Tomorrow she's gonna know twice. It's but so like there's always a couple of things that you want to say, whether it's about the moment you're about the time that we're in and life or whatever. But other than that, man, the show, a rock show should be free flowing. Man, it should be It shouldn't be some rigid friggin This is what I'm going to say here, and this is what I'm want to say there, and this is what I want to do here, and I'm gonna do a David Lee Ross kick here.
18 Well, I still do it daily kick it. I don't because I'll rip my groin to ship, you'll probably rip your hand. Yeah, but that and don't. I can't get my leg above my like my knee. Yeah, I can't do that anywhere. I got to stretch in the grip. But anyway, a rock show should be I mean, it's a rock show for ship, right, it's a rock show man. So, speaking of rock shows and music and drowning pool in your whole musical journey, what's the craziest story each one of you has, Because it's probably a different story. There's a lot of crazy ones. I'm sure there is. That's why it's such a hard question. If you can't say, like you used to be able to say things as you say these things now, it would definitely be arrested for the rest of my life tell you that, But nowadays you'd be canceled because somebody take a fence to it. We grew up in the days of blazing saddles and ship when people people made fun of everybody equally, and everybody had a laugh and went about their day. Nowadays, everybody wakes up hoping that God, they're going to be offended by something new. And so I don't understand the world that we live in today. Like if we were, if we were halfway as honest as what I wish we could be in this day and age, we'd be canceled in the fucking heartbeat, because it's got such thin skin nowadays. But but to a certain degree, a rock show should just be a rock in there, and just what I wish.
38 You didn't have to bite your tongue so much nowadays, but you do. And you know, when we were kids, you said certain things. They didn't really have the same mean Like they put meaning to shit. Now that was meaning to us. They have their feelings hurt and feel important. It's trying to intentially hurt you. If I might want to hurt you, I'm gonna hurt you. I'm gonna tell you something. But like it's that's tongue in cheek. Man. It's just like having fun, make fun of me, you know, Like I'm you know, my wife is she's Hispanic, and I'm white. So like we just we just make jokes all the time. See white jokes, Spanish chirts, whatever, man. And if you can't make fun of yourself, I mean, what good are you? Look at your shirt? Okay, So that is that the Southern version of stranger this man. I love defight things. We had Tony. I'm sorry, Doug Saturary hanging out with Tony Satury spices and when their family and like he's always coming over cooking and stuff. So when you know Duck came by today, it's just defried things. I love it shirt for today. I love it. So is there anything else you guys want to share that we haven't talked about yet. At the end of the day, Like like you said earlier, we all have fun. It's fun to have an interview like this, a moment like this where it's just free flowing. But like you said earlier, we're all here for a certain reason. I mean, there's a core reason we're here, and that's the music. And just like just a big thank you to to to thereby took the time out of the day to be here today and to keep drowning pool around for this many years.
03 Man, I know it blows my mind. And a big thanks to yourself and the people like yourself that they've kept us connected with the fans from day one and everything and keep that relationship going to where we have that contact with them. So just thank you to you and thank you to them. Well, thank you for that, because that's what it takes. All of us all together were big family. Understand that, and that's very true. It takes the ville, the village, it takes to Rockville, the Rockville village. Oh my god, look at you. Look at what you're doing. It was it was let's go do a shot. All right, Hey, you got free shots over there, and so let's go do that, because fuck this interview, this interview, Okay, I've talked to you long and though today thank you? Has it? Really? Oh man? I love hearing that ship because you know what I listen sometimes on other interviewers, I'm like, I fucking want to kill myself in that interview. So we're playing on like May for like, yeah, how did you get how'd you get your band name? I was like, what's the name of it? I look up, Oh what do we called? Thanks a lot for being here, Welcome to Rockville, thanks for being on the Adventures pipe man, Hey, what's up c J. That's Ryan. We're from drownah Pool and you listening to W four c Y Radio right here? What my buddy pipe Man?
26 Thank you for listening to the adventures of pipe Man. I'm w for c u I Radio
