04 Hey, you love them too, sus shirt. I'm from see why you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four cy dot com west pom Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe mans Child said, I want your toma size matters. That's who's the pipe man here on the Adventures. Pipe Man w for c Y Radio And I'm here with Tony from track under Nice here at Louder than Life, and I want to talk about first your shirt, Oh countrys ship at a metal festival. Yeah, well, I figured when in Lowville, it's it's country out here, right, so like you could be in the city, but I'm from the country. I live in eastern Washington.
10 It's rodeo town. So I figured I just wanted to represent for the country, not necessarily country music, but country attitude, country vibe. That's it. Yeah, I think listen Kentucky country attitude. Yep, I think it fits perfectly. Yeah country, because some people have made that comment. But country is more than just a music, right, It's an attitude. So so tell our listeners about your band from your perspective, not what people want to label you or put you in a box. But us artists, I dragged Unders a you know, a punkish metal band, and so we have like big breakdowns and fast parts and stuff and big courses, sing songy courses somewhere between like Comeback Kid and Green Day is dragged Under. So if you like punk, you like metal, you like fast, you like sing song, you like big moe on, we got all that. See.
00 I love bands like yours that combine both punk and metal because I come from a time where a long air couldn't go to a punk show, upon you could go a meal show. Was stupid because the music is so similar, why not combine forces. That's it still happens a little bit today. Like you'll see like punk kids go to like hardcore shows, right, which is the same music. It's the same shit once it's a little bit louder, heavier, right, But they should all be you know, enjoying the enjoying the music. But that's an The unfortunate nature of kind of where we're at is it's not always about like the band on the stage. It's unfortunate, like ideologies come into play when you go into music shows and it's like we're all here for that same band. Like those same four guys. Let's just rally around for these ten minutes if he'll cease fire, have a truce, and then afterwards in the parking lot, we can do whatever. But we're in this room to all share our love for this one artist, so have a good time. I love that attitude because fuck the gatekeepers. Oh yeah, and I was around a live them while a kid, and it was like, you had to if they didn't like your music, you had to burn all your shit. God forbid, you should like this like you like this? I mean we had you know, we all got parents, the original gate keepers. We don't need any more gatekeepers in the scene. That's hard enough to get into, like this type of music as it is, because it's not a social acceptable necessarily. I mean, obviously this is a massive fest. We're having a good time and there's a bunch of people here, but you know, they're not really playing the shit on the radio.
28 Yeah, you know, you've got to. There's a couple of channels that are holding it down for metal and punk and hard rock, but most of the radio stations are not that. And that's why a place like Ladder in Life is so great because I don't like do you have to be a chance to experience it. But you see, that's one inclusive, big, happy family, no matter what walk of life you're from. Yeah, and we're so privileged to be here. And we you know, we drove all the way from Seattle for this one show and we're turned around and going back home. You've got nothing else going on. We came here just for this because of the nature of what you know, Dannie Wimmer's bill and how massive, but at the same time professional and well run structured this festival has been. See. I love hearing that from an arts because I do a lot of festivals and sometimes it's a ship show for arts. Yeah, it's ships over.
14 Yeah, you guys included right like press, it's you guys are just an extension of the artist. And it's just kind of the same with you guys. You have set times, you have schedules, you have to adhere to. You need a place to do your thing, and this is like a very professional environment where sometimes you go in these tents and it's a million degrees and it's loud and noisy, and you can tell nobody really wants to be there, and it's just like it's depressing. Yeah, it's depressed. Look it back here, like the artists want to hang out back here. Yeah, this is just like you can't see obviously, but there's you know, they got a giant red bull bar. Everything's free. That's an unique one too, because we just we did uh Slam Dunk in the UK and it was a great festival. They it's very well run, but you know things cost stuff like oh, you don't have your ticket, you don't have this here, you've got this cool little wristband. You tap it on something and they go cool, here's your food, here's your drink or in this case, everything's free. Yeah, so you know it can't be understated, like getting bands to want to play your fest. It's like the most important thing for the fest because the fans it's like they'll have a good time if there's good bands, and good bands only come when there's a good fest.
18 So yeah, it's all fall trickles down too or trickles up. I should say to the boss and to add to your point as press. If it's not inviting for the artists come back here, they won't come back for interviews. You have no idea. It's the conversation I have with our manager all the time, And had I known it would be like this, I would have been like, yeah, sure, I'll do some press. But we get into these moments. I'm like, dude, she names Joey. I'm like, Joey, I don't want to do press, Like I don't want to go sit in the tent or in the sun A lot of times during the fucking sun. I don't understand that. Even like when I do all these festivals, I always picked to be inside the ten. I see some of my you know, colleagues wanting to do it outside. I'm like, I think it's a video thing, like they want to be in the sun thing. Yeah, I don't want to be outside because I don't want the RS to be outside. That enough, you gotta be up on stage.
04 Yeah, sweating your fucking asshole. And unfortunately, our stage was facing the sun and the sun was at the right exact height to just pass noon. But before sundown, it just said we're right in your face. You could feel the stage through your shoes. Wow, it's hot. See that's insane too. I never thought of that right there, Well, that's it's not I think this is the first time I've ever felt that that was a hot stage, and we played some hot stages, but the last time we played Blue Ridge last year, that was probably the hottest stage I've ever played. You're lucky and play this year run Well that's for good reason. But the stage was carpeted because ICP was playing that night, so they brought a carpet because they didn't want to get the stage all gross. Yeah, so luckily we couldn't feel the stage because the carpet was there. But it's also a little bit weird running on carpet, you know, you don't feel it, kind of doesn't have the same balance set a stage has. You kind of feel sluggish, like you're falling over and kind of weird too because I think about it. Okay, so what happens when you run across carpet and you're having electronics? Luckily it's uh, well if you're if you're bare foot, maybe, but we had the rubber souls so we didn't have any electronics issues.
02 But yeah, I mean that, you know, it's just an It speaks to the how, and maybe my expectations are a little bit low because of something like you know, the last fest that shall not be named. Uh, but when you come here and they're like, hey, how do we get to catering? And they're like, uh, a shuttle will pick you up, or there's a there's a golf cart right there. Just getting that and tell me want to go to catering And you're there on the other side of the the complex in three minutes in a golf cart and everyone's happy and stay three and they're all still in good spirits. That's why Danny Wimmer runs these festivals, right, He's a king, you know, I'm so I admire him so much. And here you are have aftershock, Yes we will. Yeah, nice, I'll have to catch you. You're coming sick.
45 That's another great festival. Have you been in the media area there? No, we actually this is our first wimmer Fest we've ever played. But like I said, it's so impressed. I'll prep you for that. You will want to do Press area. They have a nice, cool back stay in back press area that has the bar like here, similar and all the artists hang out. It's just cool. We can't wait. It's not much closer to our home. So yeah, that's that's a little less right. Yeah, So tell everybody how to hit you up on socials on the web by your merch all that. Yeah, you can just kind of go to dragonder dot com and uh, from there you can find everything. It's a little easier that way. We've got linked to all of our socials to a merg store booking all that stuff. So yeah, that's the best way.
28 Dragonoter dot com. We're on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. Sometimes when I feel like getting shit talked, I go on Twitter, right, but it's X now, Oh that's right, Sorry, it's so stupid. Well, I was staying off it before it was X. They can call whatever they want. I don't think I'll be on there too. I never go on personally. I just have everything automatically. Tweet my ship from somewhere else. That's the move, right, don't don't engage with it. A tweet like from Instagram and just say I'm not not logging into that. This ship show, oh totally. I hate it. But you know it'sn't necessary evil for us, right Unfortunately, you know anything else you want to share with the listeners that we haven't covered already. We just released a new a song called Mad Punks two weeks ago. Otherwise we'll be going into the studio next year to write our third record, cool exciting stuff. I'm very excited about it.
20 I'm very excited you're here at Laden in life and thanks for being on the Adventure Pure Thanks for having us. Hey, it's Tony from Dragon Under. You're listening to the Pike Man on W for cy Rasy. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pate Man on W four CUI Radio.
