04 Hey, you have done to censure? Why crazy you? Why become of America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipeman on W four c HY dot com. West Palm Beach is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventure's Pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with by Rome here at after Shock. Oh my god, how cool is after shock? After Shock's fucking sick man. I'm happy to be here. How are you today?
08 Oh, I'm beautiful. I came in late on the flight last night that I had a five hour delay at three am, and here I am talking to you. Oh shit, I was so excited I can in sleep. Last night I rolled out of bed just like this. I love it. See and I wish more people would just roll a bed and look just like that. Wow. Thank you me too. If you do look badass, okay, we're here on radio, but describe how you look. And I don't do that all the time, but you do look so cool that we need to describe from your try and paint a picture for the listeners. I am wearing a lavender lace body suit with a shit ton of leather on top.
49 I got a lot of black crisscrosses painted all over my face, kind of like some eyeliner scarification vibe going on. I've got a white contact in my left eye and barely see out of my right, and I'm wearing my favorite lipstick. Nice. It's a nice brownish move tone. And you do you do killer with what you do with your eyes, because I look at that and I'm like, how the hell does she even hold steady to do that? I do it so quick too. I've got the graphic liner thing down. And now check out my eyes. Now this will trip you out. Look at my eyes. Can you see? Oh wow, you've got like three rings going on. Yeah, then you've got a ring of hazel and then blue. And people think that it is contact. Whoa, that's crazy. My eyes used to be just brown. That's cholesterol. Oh wow, how weird is that? That's insane? I wonder if my eyes will change one day. I sure, do you eat it things with a lot of cholesterol? Well, see, but mine happened. It happened early on.
47 I'm like, what the fuck is that? And they're like, oh, yeah, that's cholesterol build up that'll never go away. That's crazy. But now I get I get compliments all the time, so I like that. It's unique. You know, I don't have to go and get contact. I just do this. I'm a huge fan of the Halloween context, but they definitely don't help me. See No, I always wonder about that because I've never done the contacts. Like you're wearing on the one eye, how does that feel like looking out of it? Unless they're the sclere lenses that cover your horrible eyeball, then you shouldn't notice them. But a lot of janky companies they'll fuck with your eyes pretty bad. See that's why I worry about Now check this out. I was doing Rock Klahoma and this girl, another media person, she was down in the pit for gwar, and she got hit with the blood, oh god, and her eyes turned red yep, her under and they were like permanently discolored. I had the same thing happened when we were filming my Eye Kill Everything video. I was wearing these contacts and we did this kind of like blood splatter look and the blood the fake blood got stuck under the context, and my whole eye looked bloody, which looks pretty sick. I had it be my profile picture on Instagram for a while. Actually nice. So tell our listeners about you as an artist and your music, you know, post to how everybody would want to put you into some like genre box. How do you describe as the artists?
15 Hmm, thank you for asking. So I'm definitely influenced and kind of bridge a lot of different genres in my music. Recently, I've been referring to it as metal pop because I do a lot of screaming, but I stick to very pop top lines and general pop song structure. But I like to blend hip hop, industrial electronica, and heavy music together to kind of get the death by romy sound, a lot of distortion, a lot of gritty guitar sounds, sugary melodies. Yeah see, I love that because I find that there's a lot of bands, especially metal today, that I've been put into so much of a box because of subgenres that they all have this like formula. I'd rather have music like yours that has all these different influences in it because I like all those types of music, so why not put them all into one. Yeah. I definitely wouldn't call my music metal, but people have been throwing around the term new metal because I don't think they know what to call it. But I'd just say my music is heavy, my music's hard, it gets hard. It doesn't need a label like that's my opinion. It shouldn't have a label. I agree, because you're an artist. You should be able to do whatever you know, put whatever you want on the canvas, not oh you put this here and you put this over here. Yeah. I would like to say that I've come up with a perfect name to call it, but I haven't, And if someone does, then I would love to get Uh. I'd love to get a new
47 genre going. You know about gothic industrial pop metal. I mean that sounds great. There you go. That kind of encompassed it a little bit. I called myself the dark Princess of pop for years. Oh see, I like that. And you have that on there too. Yeah. That's actually a drawing from one of my friend's comic books. Wow, it's called Princess of Sadism. It's by a good friend of mine who goes by pixel face. I actually have him illustrating the cover art for my next single. Currently nice and tell us about the next single. The next single is a song that I've been teasing for a long time with my friend Jasmine Bean, who's an artist on Interscope from the UK, and it's called hell Hound. It's going to come out around Halloween. I love it. And how do people speaking that connect to you on socials on the web and check out your new music, buy your merge all that good stuff. You can find me on all platforms music and otherwise. Under death by Romy that is d E A T h B y R M Y. I'm glad you did that too, because you know how many people probably will misspell it if you don't. I get a million different spellings of romy anytime I enter Starbucks. Sometimes tony, sometimes wrong. We It's all over the place. So when did it happen?
04 When was that moment that you're like, man, this is what I want to do. I've been writing songs since I was five years old, and the moment I saw Hannah Montana, I knew that that's what I wanted. Nice I actually I used to watch her show all the time. It's incredible and you're not supposed to admit that, but she is incredible. I think she's Oh, she's incredible. People didn't get her afterwards either, because she just want. There was no way she was going to break away from that Disney Hannah Montana unless she went extreme another way. Yeah, you know, which I think she tried to do. You know. My first concert was the Hannah Montana ex Miley Cyrus tour at the Staple Center. Nice.
47 Yeah, that was life changing. I knew that's what I wanted to do well there and here you are now at Aftershock. Now, what's the craziest thing that's happened in your musical journey? WHOA The craziest thing that has happened in my musical journey so far would probably be last year. I got invited to go play the Multi Weekender by Allie Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon, and that's one of my favorite bands of all time, So getting asked to go play their first festival was an honor. You know what funny? Okay, I've done almost three thousand interviews. Bring Me was the one that I was like during the interview, like fan going out in my head because they are They're like my top five. He's like my incredible favorite lyricists ever.
35 He's one of my favorite lyricists too. That line one of my favorite lines in any song, ever, is I can't drown my demons. They know how to swim. Yes, so good, So like I'm scared to get closer alone along for that feelings and not feeling all so good. I love that song and see that. Yeah, that song that speaks to me because I've got through that shit too many times. It's the same man. And I love how transparent all he has been throughout his entire journey about just like different things he's been through. I love that he's transparent and open in his lyrics. That's one thing that's one of the main reasons I do what I do. It's because you know, I've been in incredibly low places myself and music was there for me. Yeah, So it's the best therapy for you as an artist, for me as a listener, for everybody. I'm here to inspire and comfort the ones feeling alone. There you go, And that is such a great reason. And I have to tell you, like listen, one of the things always been given a lie crap lately for writing all this different types of music. And I think of you with that, with talking about your doing different things. I think the way that's the way it show should be. That's what I was saying before, and he said in interview, he goes, why do I want to write the same song every time? I couldn't agree more? Right, Yeah, a lot of people get stuck in wanting to please their fans, giving them a sound that they ray from them again and again and again and again, and chasing the same high they perhaps rode off one song. But for me, I'm always like,
07 what is better? What is newer? What is the next thing I'm gonna do that other people are gonna want to copy? What is the next thing I'm gonna do that's gonna shock myself? And what keeps an artist around long term is doing exactly what you're talking about, being true to yourself. Absolutely. People can see it. They can see it on stage, they can hear it in the music, and that is to me, the authenticity is what's important. I agree. And you get in different moods too, So why when you want to write this kind of song at this time and this kind of song? I another? I used to listen to other people and it didn't get me anywhere. So well, there you go. Is there anything else you want the listeners to know that we haven't covered already about you? Well, if you are in Europe or you have friends in Europe.
52 Tomorrow Team Death makes their way to the UK to kick off my first ever headlining year. Nice. We will be there all through October, all over Europe, and I'd love to see you there. Do you have one place in particular that you're most looking forward to playing on that tour. I'm dying to go play Germany and they're waiting a long time for me, and I've been fucking dying to get over there. See now you'll have to next year. You'll have to do Vodkin right. Absolutely. You also would be good at health Fest. Oh. I would love to play Healfest. I did. I've covered Healfest last year was insane, like two weekends, seven days, three hundred and sixty bands, insane. But I will tell you as an artist, every artist I was talking to there like graved about just like they rave about the Danny Wimmer festivals, like so organized, so on point. Yeah, this is the most organized festival I've ever been a part of. Louder than Life and after Shock It's an incredible experience. Now a lot of bands that we are playing here played Louder. I was at louder, Which did you like better? Or or do you admit it? Well, we'll we'll see after I perform after Shock, which I like better?
05 There you go at the DW Present stage at five twenty five. Well, I see you there. You will let me say I better. Uh oh, Now, I gotta make sure you know what I think. I got lucky, no excuses, no excuse because I had a six o'clock five twenty five. I got one last interview and then I'll run out there. Yeah you better, I've done Broco. Your last interview just started with them. Yeah, yeah, together. Nice. It was incredible. It was my first tour. We fucking annihilated that ship. Very cool. I definitely want to be out there, you know how it is. Sometimes I'm stuck back here. I'd rather be out there. But I'll get I'll get I'm gonna do that interview quick, and then I'm gonna run out to you. I literally will run. Hell yeah, I'll make sure. I'll make sure that I'll try to flag you that you see down there. I mean, at the end of the set is the best. So how long is your set?
00 Thirty five? Okay, I'll have to make it happen. Hell yeah, it's a pleasure to meet you. It was a pleasure happening to you. And thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Main. Thank you so much, have a wonderful day. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on w for CUI Radio.
