PipemanRadio Interviews Crossfade at Inkcarceration 2025
We are at Shawshank Prison aka Ohio State Reformatory for the 2025 Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival. Crossfade is playing and came backstage in the Press / Artist Lounge to talk with Pipeman Radio of W4CY Radio about what it is like to perform at such an iconic location where Shawshank Redemption was filmed. This closed down prison is known to be haunted so when you go to Blood Prison who knows what will happen.

00 Hy you have lunto Yes, that's true. Wow, crazy you. Incarceration America's Rock, Metal and Tattoo Festival. It's pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here. With Mitch Less. Oh Carls Fade. Nice you're an incarceration, Like, thanks for coming to prison. It's I'm a person. Last time I hope in prison. Well yeah, well I don't know. I like coming to this prison. Every year, fucking Shawshank Prison. Out Iconic Is had to perform at Shawshank Prison.
49 It was incredible being here. I will say the prison might have halted our gear because it was all broken. We had no inner monitors, no anything to change our patches and other was stuff going on, but it was still a. Blasket out there. But we had to kill unfortunately half of our set with all the timing. Which inmates did you piss off? Mitch? Sure, the one that did it, So you have to answer that one. A little angel right here. Because you know this it really is haunted for real. I know. Yeah, we're taking a tour today. Actually yeah, you won't know whether it's to get characters or it's. A real ghost. Right when you go through it, and then it's a fucking killer tour. Twice I heard that you guys kicked asst So tell our listeners who have never heard you guys or seen you live, what they can expect from your live show and how you had the artists describe your music well.
43 Barring today from all of this explanation, typically is the great lap show. Lots of loud vocals, lots of cool things on stage going on, and a lot of reminiscing. Every time we go to a show now to play it's the old forty year old dude and his fourteen year old son at the show who was not even considered when our songs came out to begin with. It's fun to see the dynamics of I'm going to see what dad loves and then them falling in love with it too. So it's a it's really cool thing to see still seeing some of the same people we saw since four showing up at our shows. It's really cool, man, and we're just thrilled to be back out at it. And I love that about today this world.
26 Like in the eighties when I was going to metal shows, you didn't see people my age or your age at the shows nor in the bands. Like it blows my mind when I. Go out there under these kids that are going to shows for bands that are like forties, fifties, sixties or like you look at back to the beginning and all the kids out in the crowd for Ozzy. I mean, like, I think it's a fucking phenomenal thing. Yeah, so it seems to be a revival. A lot of early two thousand bands are kind of crushing it right now. I know we're all here for it because we're right there with them. You know. I think that's what the difference is, what you were describing before. Like when I was a teenager, my dad listened like Frank Sinatra or whatever, and he didn't understand my music at.
13 All, you know. But now it's like the adults that are listening to the shit and then the kids are like brought into it. And I love that. Yeah, Yeah, there's a yeah, there's a thing with music and a period. All of us kind of grew up on that early nineties crune sound and it kind of shaped this band for sure, And I think it's always going to be like that, just looking back and thinking about all the other bands that kind of inspired you, and hopefully we're still one of those bands for all these new generation of Shredders growing up right now. I think you are because when I talk to a young man's they're always talking about the older bands, not their contemporaries or just above them. It's like they're talking about the eighties nineties bands, you know.
59 So what's now after incarceration? Well? I never know that, So I asked today and I was told one thing, but they answered a different question that I did not ask. So is it louder? Oh, louder than life? It's gonna louder than light. Yeah, see, I'll be down too, were cancer. We're actually playing Minnesota next week with Seven Dusts. For a festival up there. Very cool. And then then louder than life, right, louder than life? Yeah, it's louder than life Louisville. Yes, it's a great fucking festival and another Danny Wimmer festival. Now that's why why I ask you. I asked all. Artists, how does Danny Wimmer treat you guys as artists?
45 Awesome? Danny's the man. He's been great to us this entire time. Just putting us on the bill is awesome. Just for us to get out here for these shows to be the first reunion comeback is amazing, is incredible experience. He definitely has hooked us up. So it's been awesome. And it did blow your mind that you're out there and there's this like sea of fucking people, especially it's earlier in the day, and it's like, you don't expect that. I didn't expect that. I didn't think people would be out of the parking lot or bed at that hour, you know, right first when we did, there's probably thirty thousand people out there. Wow, first show in twelve and a half thirteen years.
26 Does that blow your fucking mind? Or what? I love it? It kind of confirms too why you should be back right you know, and it makes you want to do it more because you are unsure when you come back after that long of a hiatus, like anybody even care anymore, and now you know they do. So how do people reach out to you guys on socials on the web and check out all your tour dance music merch all that. At cross Fate Official I believe on Instagram, Cross Fate Official on cross Fade Official on Facebook and then Crossfadeband dot com. And we should have a new merch channel coming up soon. So all this cool stuff we're selling out here T shirts, we'll be on that soon enough.
13 Well, you can email me at lestronicat gmail dot com. I answer everything nice. Well. I thank you guys. You did just do that and I love it. Well. Thanks for being here and thanks for being on the adventure to Pipement. Thank you so much. Man, thank you. For listening to the Adventures of Pipement. I'm w for CUI Radio.
