04 Hey, you listening too? It is such sure, I'm I'm for see why you wake up America. It's time for the adventure. So pipe Man on W four cy dot com. West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pike Man. I wanna listen to all indications. It won't listen to that. It's inside sire. Put in the right you think you know what your nity. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pike Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here with gree F. I love it. That's why I always have the artists do it, because they do it cooler than me. Oh well, you know, I actually don't like doing those sorts of things. I'm pretty shy when it comes to that stuff. But I put on my radio voice and hey, it's time to listen to Top forty. I love it. Yeah, you know what, We're gonna have a great time today. It's gonna be an incredible show down here a riot Fast two thousand and twenty three. Yeah, and you just got off stage and killed it. That's what they say.
29 What a crowd you that had out there. I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. To be honest, really, yeah, I don't know what. I don't know what to expect, but I didn't expect that. I was expecting, like, honestly, like a few hundred people. I was like, it's the middle of the afternoon, nobody's probably even here yet when we drove. When we pulled up, it looked ugly. I mean literally, we showed up. What time we go on two fifteen? We showed up at like one, and we walked out to that stage and there was nobody there. It was an empty field. There was maybe i'd say twenty thirty people watching the people that were on the stage at the time.
10 And I was like, Okay, this is gonna be embarrassing. This is gonna be like the smallest crowd ever at any festival. But I can handle it. You know, it won't be the first time I've had to eat some humble pie. I can handle it. I'm like whatever. So I go in my you know, bus, I start getting ready and then people are like, oh, there's a lot of people coming. There's a lot of people. Go I was like, yeah, okay, maybe there'll be a few hundred. All right, we'll be good. And then I walk out there and they were like, this is the most people we've had on the side of the stage all weekend, and this is the most people ever to fill up an afternoon side show. And I'm like, really, I am surprised time of day because like you said, like time of day, it's like people were out party and probably last Yeah. Yeah, I'm not ready to How did they get there so fast? I mean, how's that even possible? How does it go from like zero to twenty thousand or thirty that? Whatever? That was, well I was I was honored and humbled by that, trust me. So what an experience. And I gotta tell you mad respect for you because I don't know if her listeners know this, but you hurt your meniscus and you were out there pocket it anyway. Two both knees. Both knees are torn. This knee has got two tears.
25 I had injections of steroids in it right before the tour, injections into my back because I've got four slip discs. I mean, I don't know. I guess what I do is kind of like extreme sports. People don't realize it, but I don't know many guys. I don't want to say my age because at twenty two I shouldn't really be complaining. But you know, at twenty two, I don't know many guys my age that dance as hard as I do for as long as I do every night. There's I don't think anyone. I mean, even if you look at like the boy bands, they do the choography and stuff, but first of all, they're not the same age as me. They're all like ten fifteen years younger than me, and they're doing limited choreography. They're not just getting down and doing these crazy rock songs and stuff. So yeah, I'm doing both. You know, it's crazy. So well, was that moment in your life, Larry, you decide how much you loved music that you would want to do something like this that ended you here? Well, not ended you, but brought you here to riot? Always man always. I mean I played all right, my very The very first live performance I did was a festival crowd.
33 The first performance I did ever in front of an audience happened to be at the Rose Bowl, WHOA for forty thousand people. That was my first taste of performing. Wow, what feeling. I was twelve years old, thirteen maybe right around stand by me Era and I had just started like watching Michael Jackson and doing the whole Billie Jean thing, and so like, I like got very confident in my dancing, my style dancing and all that kind of stuff. And then like I was like, you know what, people were like, you know, it's this big charity event, it's at the Rose Bowl. We'd love it to come out and say if you were if you have anything you do, you're welcome to perform. Do you have like a you know, a single or a cassette or something you want us to play.
16 I'm like no. They're like, okay, well what do you want to do? And I'm like, well I can. I can pretend to be Michael Jackson and you know, lip sync Billy Jean. And they're like, perfect, let's do that. So I was like all right, So I got up and I did it, and there was forty thousand people cheering and freaking out, and I was like, there's something to this. Nice. I can do this, But I think I'm gonna need to come up with my own material because I really shouldn't be the guy that's going around lip syncing other people's material, you know what I mean, actually come up with my own stuff. So that was what really inspired me to start writing and producing my own music and creating material that I could tour with it. Kind of you remind me of a friend of mine that you probably know from the Pretty Reckless Tailor and tell her momson she would she started acting and stuff, but she's really a rock and roller. Okay, cool, you know, so she chose rock and roll right. People chose acting for her right, and she chose rock and roll exactly like I was. Like, I mean, I started singing, you know when I was three years old. I would sing to get my auditions as a kid. You know, That's how I got my parts is I would literally just like sing because I couldn't memorize.
28 You know, a lot. You can't read lines when you're three years old, Like there's no way to read a line right or memorize a script. So you have to prove that you can handle shit or whatever. So what do they do. They go and they have you like sing a song to like show that you can memorize and that you can like be cute and whatever. So my mom would stick me in a room with a record player and she'ld have me memorize songs and so what I do is I'd come out and I'd sing songs for auditions, and that's how i'd get my parts. Nice, Yeah, and that was what started it. So the bottom line is I was singing before I was. You made me think of being in Hebrew school and memorizing Hebrew but not having any clue what I was saying, but memorizing all the prayers but all that. Hi, Yeah, I got you man, right, you know what I'm saying totally. So you're also into charitable stuff that's really really important. Let's talk about that a little bit.
25 Okay, So what's your what's your passion charity wise? What's your passion for helping people and helping kids? Well, I always do, like basically everything that I can. I lend my voice wherever I can to those who don't have one. So, whether that's the environment, whether it's children, whether it's animals. You know, I've been a vegetarian since I was twelve years old. Nice, I've been you know, doing animal rights work. I've helped change laws in several states for animal rights. I've helped change laws for children to protect you know, victims of abuse, changing statutes of limitations. So I mean, obviously I'm not doing any of it on my own single handedly, but I'm nobody can you know, a team of people that I work with. But for example, I'm an ambassador a Child USA where I help to you know, change statutes and stuff like that. So, you know, whatever I can do to make a difference in the world, make it a better place through advocacy and work, you know, getting on the on the ground and getting on the floor and doing it. Like you know, I've spoken to the floor and the Senate in Boston and you know, been officially recognized on the Senate floor in Albany, New York and things like that. So that's nice. You know, it's nice to actually get your word out there and make a difference, hopefully, I think. So, I think it's great somebody like you that you certainly don't have to do those things, so you choose to do those things and because you have a voice and because people know you, you can make a difference and not everybody
58 in the industry does that. So my hats off that you thank you. Well. You know, look, I unfortunately had to endure a lot of pain and suffering as a child, and uh, you know, I do what I can to try and prevent others from having to go down those same roads and have those same experience. Do you think there's been change? Do you think it's better now than when you were a kid? No, that's unfortunate, not at all. That's unfortunate, But I'm glad you're Unfortunately, they don't they don't take it seriously, you know. I mean, there's very simple rules that can be changed within the unions that can protect children, and they just simply won't do it. Or and I tried to do it, they gasolate me and threw me under the bus and try to act like I was the bad guy. And it's just, you know, unfortunate, but that's that's the way the game is played. Yeah. Well, I think you're a good guy because I don't care what they think you experienced things.
50 You shared your experiences for that alone makes you a good guy, because not everybody shares their experiences, you know. No, they just try to twist my character and you know, spread lot and rumors into fami and gaslight. But that's what they do to every whistleblower, to every survivor. They don't want you to they don't want you to win because they're worried about the big deal pocketbook, that's what they really care about, instead of caring about the safety and the sanctity of our children, which should be the most important thing in the world. So I gotta tell you something too. Yesterday I called the person I have multiple radio studios. I called the person that runs my Louisiana studio because I know for eleven years her working with me. She's like your number one fan. So I called her up. I'm like, yeah, you're not gonna like me too much because she's on the air too, and I'm like, yeah, I'm interviewing somebody you would want interview tomorrow.
46 So I busted her chops her, I send my love. Well, there you go. She'll love that. There you go. There anything that's right? Is there any other message you want put out there in the world that because I want everybody to come to see our tour while we're out here and maybe the last time I ever do a solo tour like this where I'm you know, doing all the dance moves and the costume changes and all this stuff. It's it's a big production, a big show in small venues, and you can't get that anywhere else. So you know, unlike the thirty forty thousand people that just watched as Arrive Fest, we're doing like thousand seed fifteen hundred seed venues. So come on down watch the show while you can. You can get VIP tickets at my website, Corey Felman dot net.
28 And while you're there, we have a pretty big store. You can pick up a copy of my new box set signed, or you can buy those at the show if you're coming to a show. Love Left two point one is the name of the box set. The new album is Love Left two Army with Love And if all that weren't enough, I also have my own Funko pop I Love coming out and it's gonna be out in time, just in time for Christmas. And uh it's rock star Corey Feldman. It's from the ascensial Millennium video and it's really cool, so very nerd that Funko did this. And it's a limited edition, only four thousand of them being made, and you can preorder it right now my website as well, Corey Felman dot net for all your Corey Felman needs. I love it And let's tell everybody about your new surprise single that came out recent Exceptive Debra. Yes, we played that here at riot Fest, all right, And what meaning does that song have to you? Oh? You know, it's just about those lying, filthy you know ex's. I will just say that I have a couple of them myself, so I hear what you're saying. Not it's not about my current wife. If a lot of people think that's what it is, but it's really not. It's she was in fact in the studio with me while I was creating it. So well, there you go. Well, I am so happy you're here at riot Fest. I am totally like impressed with you, regardless of the backlash, regardless of the gas line that you keep speaking up or people that need somebody like you to speak for them
03 and being true and real to who you are and what you've been through. It takes a lot of guts you certainly don't have to and for that, I think you're the best one right there. Thank you, my friend. I appreciate the support and the encouragement. Oh my pleasure. God blessed to you and your audience man, and God bless you and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Thanks Brethern cheers. It's up. This is Corey Felman and you're listening to the Pipe Man on W for c Y dot com. Thank you for listening to the adventures of Pipe Man on W for CUI Radio
