00 Oh my god, that's amazing, right, yeah, it's incredible, man, absolutely in stating, like so obviously we won our metal to the Master's seat to play the new Blood stage. Nice. Yeah, it was a interesting competition with the final kind of yeah, kind of ending a bit weirdly because the venue flooded. Whoa kind of like baking right. Yeah, it was pretty bad. Like basically we was on our fourth song and yeah, all the power just completely cut out and we were just up in the air for like a good hour or so, wow, just not knowing what was going on. But luckily they said the judges said that we saw enough of our set to make a call, and I'm glad they picked us.
47 Wow. So it's like they heard enough that they don't need anymore and they already know you want. Yeah, I love that. That's so cool. Maybe it's better that the power went out, maybe you weren't playing another time that they're like, yeah, E me me, Well, we hope not with hopefully we think our songs are at the end of the set. But right well that it says it a lot. Though in all seriousness, it says a lot that they pick you from your beginning songs because always your best songs are going to be at the end. So I means if they picked it from that, you fucking kicked some ass here at blood Stock because they nobody's turned your best shit yet. Yeah. We've been a band for about three years now. I'm one of the newer members, so actually it's probably about six years. I came in three years ago. It was one of those things where we just keep pushing, keep pushing, and even our first eating the metal to the masses. We started out with getting lights as well, so we've got like mini lights and building our own brig with like in air monitoring. With the lights, we had like one with a couple like four lights basically start off with, but then by the final we had two t bars are like Strobe lights, and then we have the in air monitoring system, so it was just constantly like we want to bush. We just keep wanting to push, get our name out there and get ourselves heard.
08 Basically love it and so did it can blow your mind that you won, including the fact that yeah and all that problems. Yeah, honestly I actually broke down in tears. I genuinely did, because it was one of those moments like they're gonna reschedule the gig for another day, are they're gonna restart the show and let us finish the set? Like there were so many questions, but we didn't know what was happening because obviously it flooded, like we had to safely evacuate everyone. First, everyone was fine, no one got hurt, and then it was a case of like waiting for the judges and it was about an hour to nearly two hours of just standing there not knowing what's happening. And we were hoping that they didn't reschedule because the week after they were thinking about doing that. But we were on tour in Ireland for two days. Oh man, it was our first time in Ireland, so we were like, please let us know a rather bigger decision. Now.
05 Yeah, somebody was smiling upon you that day for sure. Yeah, definitely the look was with us. Yeah, and you know, I gotta think like that two hours has to be like the most stressful two hours ever. Yeah, like literally, Like I just remember, there was like easily thirty odd people backstage and there was a puddle an inch deep all in the backstage area where all the gear was. Everyone was just stood there just being like what's happening. Nobody was communicating, like the bar manager didn't tell us what was happening, and it was just like, well, what do we do? So it just kind of was like stressful because it was like we lost our opportunity. But then to hear d hear that name being said that we're going through, Like I even remember now, it was like everyone knows what happened with beyond the design set, but with careful consideration, we have decided that they have one enough that we can judge it, and that's where we're announcing that beyond the design of would And it was like, oh my god, and just me and the vocalist just burst into tears like wow, And you know, I bet when they were saying, we've heard enough met in your mind you're thinking, oh, they already picked somebody else. Yeah, honestly, firstly I went through my mind like because the other bands on the Heat were absolutely fantastic, big shout out Buried by My Heartache, which are like good friends of ours, which was really painful because it's like your friends.
35 They absolutely smash their set as well, and a local band from Nottingham for thirty Signed were absolutely incredible and also dead Demons, brilliant bands like go and check them out. I highly recommend it. Absolutely love all of their bands and like the fact that we won against that competition was absolutely insane blew my mind. And I love because almost every band I've are review in those competitions, it's done exactly what you did. They give shout outs to the other bands, like it's so metal, what camaraderie. Oh yeah, definitely, Like I would say definitely with Nottingham the Midlands scene at the moment, we have a thing called Unearthed which we are part of and our guitarist he's like a big part of it. And with on Earth Music, like there are so many bands on there right now, we are absolutely killing it, like Waterline. Oh no, actually they're not on it. If you played yesterday. I know my friend's band those What's Loyal just played the Yeager stage about an hour ago and absolutely insane, like the crowd was, and there was a Mates band water Lines that they're not on Earth. I think you else. There's definitely a few on Earth bands Daybreaker, another Mats band, Daybreaker absolutely crazy again on the Yeager stage. Absolutely did amazing, Like it's just so cool. The Bloodstock gives we smailer bands all these opportunities. So no now, because I do festivals all over the world, I don't know
06 any other festival that takes so much attention two bands like yours to give them an opportunity. Yeah, I was gonna say, so are you from America? Though? Yes? How do you tell? Yeah, you're telling the bit about the accent. It's funny when you guys tell me I have an accent. Yeah, Like I can imagine you're just thinking boys this accent right right right? Yeah? So like what would you say like America, Like where would you recommend to go play and stuff like that as far as festivals or towns or states anything, Just what top things come off your head?
46 Festivals for sure, like the Danny Wimmer festivals, which are most of them. That's really if you happen to get lucky enough to get on those festivals, you end up usually on all the festivals which get to you a lot of exposure. And you know the festivals are the closest you get to European festivals they pull in like fifty to one hundred thousand people. Yeah, like this that's the like it's such a dream with this one being twenty k. It's such a dream. But think when you say fifty k, be like, how do we get there? Right? Knowing the way to get there, I'd just love to do it. And you know Danny Wimmer, he does discover bands because he used to be in the record business. So like there's certain bands are popular now only because he discovered them and put him on his festivals. That's the sort of first you needed in this industry. Like, that's that's amazing, no doubt. Have you heard about heard of the band? Nothing more? Oh I absolutely loved the Figore. Yeah, Danny saw him at a little club in La and the rest is history. That's that's amazing, Yeah, because this time is ballast, like I've originally first heard that song by him. I absolutely love it so it just bang me so hard. And mister MTV, I love that truck. I haven't listened to the third album. Yes, I did like the second one. I saw them at download. Actually it's crazy that like machine thing that he's built, Like, oh yeah, I've never seen anything like it. And they're
18 not that at all. That's far like they blew up by doing these festivals. Yeah, last thing like love, I'd love to know how to do that myself, right, So like even as an example, going way back, I saw in ninety nine Slipknot and mud Vein playing third stage at Odds Best. The paint a picture to you, the Yager Meister stage is bigger than that stage was. No way, that's crazy a lot bigger. I always think, how the fucking nine people fit on that stage? Oh yeah, like oh my god, like I can't image like people trying to fit on that like it's already a struggle with five, never mind any more than right, it is cool and that Yeager stage though, right, because it's like, even though it's a small stage, it gets packed yea, and people are like right there, so I know Whine the band's earlier they played right after Knock Loosing. Everybody was leaving Nuck Losing stopped there exactly. Yeah, because it's in between like first stage and second stage, right, so it's just perfect. Like like I was saying, my mates band those What's loyal just an hour ago, Like I couldn't believe it, Like they absolutely packed out of the townel I couldn't be happier for them seeing that, just doing like they're quite a small band and seeing that crowd reaction as well.
41 And Waterlines last night, Yeah, Waterlines last night they headlined the Yager stage and I will say now they're probably my favorite band of the weekend minus Kills. Such a gauge in flames right, but like the crowd interaction was insane. I've never seen the crowd bounce like their vocalist Bend. I'm good mates with him, Like he just knows how to work a crowd, Like if he says something, the crowd does it and nice. It's not very often that's that's key. I think. Oh yeah, I think the front front person should definitely be somebody that captures the crowd, not just sings or whatever.
22 But you have to be the one that catches their attention. Yeah, I honestly time, in my heart, I think Waterline's Bean with how he is and his charisma and just him as a person. He's just some amazing human. Like I honestly feel like they are gonna get somewhere, They're gonna get some big shows. They're going to do big things for sure, just with how his stage interaction is. Like like there was that mental like there was about ten crowd surface and it didn't have any security on at the time, which was a bit awkward. So the sound text ended up having to pick people down. That's how crazy it comes. Wow, that's see that's at all Yeah probable, and I think the same out you guys man, because you're here badass and you're gonna go places now after this. But it's the beginning. I can't wait. Like it's just beaver dream. There you go, and I'm just seeing where it takes from. So I have people check it out and they connect with the on socials by merch all that good stuff. Yeah, we're on social media, so we're on basebook, we're on Instagram. We even have a TikTok nice. So yeah, if you check out beyond your design. We're all on there, and then we also have merchandise which is at found dot e slash by d links and you can get access to everything through that, and we are obviously on Spotify and got lots of music videos on YouTube, so yeah, please go check us out.
52 Very cool and so do you have any other words you want to lead the listeners with that. We haven't touched a raid and they need to know about you. Oh, I'm a man with a deboture. I don't know what I was to say. Yeah, hopefully we're going to be writing our first album next year, and we hope to come back to this custom the next year, not the year after, and we're going to keep grafting. We've got a talk coming up soon. And yeah, we're going to be smashing out all of the guest headline slots on Metals the Masters next year, so hopefully get around the country a bit more. Again, I love it, I love your energy, love what you're all about. So glad you're here at blood Stock and thanks for being on the Adventures of plate Man.
37 Honestly, it's been a pleasure to talk to you, dude. Thanks nice to meet you man. Thank you for listening to the adventures of plate Man, I'm W four Cui Radio.
