04 Hey, you love them too. Sure, I'm come. I'm too. See why you wake up America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipe Man on W four cy dot com. Whist Palm Beach is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. I'm hunting in the dream of your body next to money. Listen to reason I said, I'm thinking true but the way sit down on the world. That's the pipe Man here on the Adventures my Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with my name's dam and I'm Roy Nice And Okay, so you came over from New Zealand, right, that is correct, And you're coming in New Zealand to get evacuated for a storm. We've had a few. Yeah, we've had a few storms ourselves lately in New Zealand. You might have seen that on the news. But I don't think we're gonna get evacuated. Oh you have him in the Florida yet, Like this is this means here's what happened in the last interview we got. I got evacuated on a couple days ago.

34 The guy said, Hey, this is a nice breeze here. I'm like that means we're screwed because that means it's storm's coming and we're getting evacuated. Oh, I'm just gonna say it, this is quite a fucking nice breeze. Yeah, well we're screwed. We're definitely screwed. Can I just get pulls thoughts on the breeze? Yeah, he likes it. So here's the cool thing about storms in Florida. Though. You guys must be surfers. You're from New Zealand, right, Okay, I do say if I have a nine foot long board, my wax Roy surfboard, amongst other things, I just grow my hair out long so I can hang out so you can look like you're a surfer. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, so I'm a surfer and we really look forward to hurricanes because that's the only time we get waves. Yeah, but didn't you tell us last time your your whole peninsula was in danger of getting washed out or something. Yeah yeah, yeah.

31 And I and I live on an island on the beach, you know, and that, and you know when it's time to leave, when the actual walls say get out, they do. They're like, this is your last chance. It's time to evacuate. Now. If you do not leave the island. You're on your own and you're just the hugging your surfboard the ship. I had my surfboard out and ready, man, totally. Well, you know what's funny about that is what I was like nineteen years old. I was living in California and I was leaving to Good New Jersey to go to college, and I had my car all packed in. There was a tsunami tidal wave warning because of an earthquake in the water, and I literally I was living Mariana Delray. I was sitting on my balcony with my surfboard waiting for that wave to come so I could jump off my balcony onto it. Like I was kind of stupid because like what was going to happen.

30 Nothing good was going to happen out of that. But I did have my car packed up in case I really had to leave, So then it was really sorry. Jumped in the car and like was like leaving with the tidal wave following, and you're here to tell the story. I'm here to tell a story, and you're here welcome to Rockville to create a tidal wave here, right? Yeah, Well we just we just played We created a It was a it was a good ripple, I would say I was. It was probably like a four foot yeah, it was definitely a four foot five foot face. There was a few left or rights in the crowd, left or right, left, it was a center. It was, you know, peeking in the sentence in both ways. Nice. I you know, I was talking to somebody else about this. I've had this idea.

16 I do all these like punk festivals on the beach, and like somebody needs to do a performance on their surfboards surfing. Yeah, yeah, with a dog with well wait, that's so far. You say that because where I live every year we have a dog surfing contest. Is so cool. We were recording our second album. We were in the studio and there was dog jumping, no dog diving. Oh wow. Inside they run up this little platform and they got to jump at a toy and it's how father the dog can jump. That's into like an Olympic swimming pool. Wow, it's it's on it like ESPN or something. That's pretty cool. Like dogs. I mean, dogs are having their day. You know. The dog surfing stuff.

05 These guys are. The dog surfing stuff is like badass. They surf better than most people. I know, I respect dogs with jobs, you know, dogs that are out there making a living for themselves. You know, you got to the guide dog, you know, then you've got your police dog, I mean, and then you've got your snoop dog. And then you've got the lazy dogs are just sitting and eating bond bonds, watching TV while you're out working. Yeah, they still get love, yeah, and food and shelter and toystributing in their own little I think I want to come back to be a dog. Yeah. You know. So dogs originally, you know, came from wolves. And the reason dogs are dogs as they learned that they can't beat humans because humans will kill them if they're aggressive.

48 So they slowly became nicer to humans because they've learned they've survived and get the scraps if they're nice. Nice years and years and years, we've just had all these really nice dogs make love and make other nicer dogs, and so that's why they've gotten so a tune to human emotions. All depends on us is humans, And so you wouldn't believe it, but the first dog after the wolf back in the day was at Chihuahua. Really, I couldn't even say really, seriously. I tried. I tried to say it seriously, but did you know that time for the evacuations about circumvents. That's a little bit about Capital Theater and their affinity for dogs surfing. We don't really give a crap about the music, just a dog and the surfing. No, we like literally we just get up on stage a few surfboards and about eight dogs and just turn the amps up. You know, somebody has to invent like a surfboard surfboard guitar. Okay you yeah, like hollow it out, you know, put strings on it. How cool would that be?

50 That's been done. But what I'm looking forward to is the dog guitar, like an actual dog. Let's strung up. Yeah, where it's the input check go. So it's so cool. He comes up like he's the quiet one over there, and then the stuff that just comes out of his mouth is like, okay, that made that made the interview. He hiber nights to think and then he comes back out with a great idea get started on beers and periods. Oh that that sounds like a story I want to hear. Do you have like real life experience with that? It's just an urban myth that beers can smell periods. Well that and he's very accurate. Yeah, just shout out to my mate Duncan. Duncan, wherever you are heavy sniffing Duncan period? Is he the period whisper? It's quite scary. Do you know there's a such thing as period parties? I got him. That was the most he's laughed yet. Man, I got him. He couldn't even hold back. You couldn't even keep that serious face party period? Are you talking about people that go in period costume? Oh that would be missing.

09 No, it's seriously, if you throw your kid a period party so they don't feel Yeah, and I know that makes sense. I think the normalization of such a normal thing, as you know, if we want to be serious about the issue, it's yeah, if you can normalize it, bring it in as a not a taboo thing, then good. And that's a key right there. It makes it not taboo. So you guys should write a new song called period party to join that. Yeah, well that's a different band of our It's called Key We Crawl. We've got We've got a joke band that we all of our Well, it might be a joke to you it's not to me. It's a serious band with serious issues to discuss. Oh that's great. So how do you describe your music to listeners that haven't heard you before? That genre fuck genres? That's stupid. I like to hear that what the artist thinks that there band like you could even make up some wild shit like it's you know, KEI we genre, Yeah, but but we we always lean on the name Capital Theater and we say that with the I guess the delivery of the lyrics and the way we go about things. It's it's a bit of a theatrical rock. This theatrical rock elements to it. There's always stories being told in the songs, and there's always an environment for the songs, so they always have their own little space.

22 And our first album was a was a story from start to finish, a concept album called A Hero's Journey. Oh I love that, and yeah, so that was kind of you know, we just lead into the idea of Capital Theater. So anything theatrical is welcome. I love that you're just saying rock too, because I'm so sick of all these subgenres, microgenres. It's like, stupid, I do this joke. You know with bands at festivals, it's like, since nowadays there's some main genres, each band has its own genre. I'm like, come up with your own genre name. And I thought of yours while you were talking. Okay, it's Koala Clamidia a rock but geographically that's I know. That's why I didn't want to go there. But I couldn't think of a good one for New Zealand and that and I just keeps going through my head. Who was it? I was talking to one of the Australian bands and they were telling me, did you know that ninety five percent Koalas have chlamydia? And I'm like, come on, that's the most stupid they ever heard. But then I looked it up.

26 It's true. It's because the Australians had bumming them. That's what I'm thinking, Like, how else would they get it? Come on? You know? And I heard there's like a law or something like and not a law, but they just tell you don't touch the claws. Yeah, you can't bumble them. Well that brings me back to Florida. Okay, so at one point, I don't know about ten years ago, the great lawmakers in Florida decided they need to make a law because Florians are pretty sick. They had to make a law outlawing beast reality. But the idiots, wait, the idiots in our paw in our government wrote the law wrong, and now all sex in Florida is illegal, really and they never fixed it.

11 Shit, So well, what are we supposed to do about that? Go to jail. You'll definitely get six. Yeah, we'll see, and probably less of a chance of Clamidia's. Probably something else though, quite significant. Oh yeah, get is there any quala is in any of your jails over here? No, but we should bring them over like that should be the punishment. You have to have sex with a koalasti he's probably koala. It's it, you know. I gotta be impressed though. If you fucking kangaroo though, oh yeah, hot to pin down? Yeah exactly, back, exactly neck kangaroo. But a kangaroo differently fucks you. Yeah, that's rough sex right there. Yeah, it depends what you're into. I mean, do you want rough sex or do you want clamidia? That's Detroit. So we're gonna have your your Clamidia. Kawala Clamidia, theatrical rock band play the next period party. I've just yes, and I've just got one question.

16 Is this what we call locker room talk? This is locker room talk? Absolutely, So we're gonna get canceled. Okay, No, I think being the voice of reason, I think we can just blanket statement from Capital Theaters that we do we respect all animals. Period. Oh that you guys are good because I made people get me. I can usually like keep my composure, but that was fucking good, period. So how does everybody connect to you guys on socials on the web? How they most importantly, how do they buy your merch? Because that's the only way you survive. And I sure hope you have like surf merch and Clamidia merge maybe like you know, anti Clamidia CDs or something. We will probably embark on that campaign after this interview of the broad swell of enthusiasts that come forward from this interview, we will have the Clamidia arrange. I would think y Roy looks after the merch, but now we're just standard T shirts which can be bought via the Spotify Shopify or Spotify. Yeah, Spotify, and which came first Shopify or Spotify spot and check us Capital Theater band on Instagram or TikTok. Yeah, Capital Theater Band and that's Capital Capital Theater. I'm glad you clarified, because in Florida our education system just got very lowly to call books as schools because of

46 our governor. So you have to educate people on has spell capital. Well, if you buy our album and read through the wonderful lyrics that Adam has produced, you'll probably learn a lot of good English in there, some real words. Yeah, you'll be sit for life if all you know is how to speak out music. That's all you need to know. There it is, there it is. But you guys, are you guys are badass? All all kidding aside, all serious in this aside. You know you guys are badass. Everybody's definitely got to check you out. And let'sten to your music and buy your merch And by the way, you need dog shirts, Yes, we need a dog range. Okay, Well this has been educational. See he's been almost like one on one coaching with the pipe man.

28 Yeah, yeah, this is the coaching interview. Good, Like, what would you do without me? Then you'd just be selling normal T shirts. Opened up our market to a whole cross section of animals. Well magic came. You know what the Americans want because you know, we're a little dumber than the rest dogs. Yeah, when we first got to La we could not we could not believe you. Well, just the attention that dogs get. And they have strollers for dogs, Yeah that's what are they service animals or what are they? Yeah? A lot people do that just so they can bring their dogs somewhere. Yeah that and I was on the plane recently from a festival and somebody had a backpack and their dog was in their backpack.

11 Yeah, dogs on planes. That was a thing. I didn't know that. That doesn't happen in New Zealand. But yeah, dogs on planes. Yeah, we're a bit backwards. We were too worried about them like pooing and on the plane, and so are you backwards are smarter? We have dog pilots because we have very smart dogs in New Zealand, so often you'll you'll get dog dog pilots. But they were aviated. But we don't allow nuts on planes. So there's that. You took away the nuts. Yeah, we took away the nuts. You know, it's it's this whole it's this whole movement to take take away all American nuts sucks. A couple of people are allergic. Yeah, that's why I had. I brought some nuts on the plane one time and I was eating. The flight tank came up to me and like, you can't eat those here? Like why because somebody in a very back of the planes' allergic with clough and it's gonna fly in their mouth. I got in trouble for sending my daughter to primary school with the peanut butter sandwich. Oh my god, kind of peanut butter sandwiches in New Zealand anymore? Isn't that sad? That's stupid? Like, come on, how about almond butter? Yeah, I'll try. See, I told you we were going to get evacuated. I know. Look at that.

19 That's why you guys are like good luck or something. It's like we're we're waiting for that fifty foot wave that's never going to come stadium as well. I do want a skateboard around the race track here. I asked if if I would get in trouble if I did that. I have my skateboard in my jeep out there. I've been so tempted, I think when in Rome or win in Daytona. Just do it right? Is it cool to be playing in Daytona Speedway When we came in, we came in and got the school around the track. It was like the coolest right of lives today. And if you ever saw it on TV, it looks nothing like you see on TV. I even tried to take a video over it, right beside it. He's right there the bank, and the video doesn't even do it justice. No, not at all. You screen going done with the same is what I can see right now. And see those seats up there, do you know why? They're all different colors so he knows people the boat. Yeah, it looks we should do that for our smaller shows.

22 There you go like you should just that's what you should do. Book an arena show and just do that. Yeah, yeah, just I mean why even why even bother with humans when you've got great seats like this? I know, right, it looks better. It looks very inclusive, non racist, it's very inclusive. So I'm gonna let you guys go so you can do another interview. But man, it's been a pleasure you guys. Rock I'm so happy you made here to welcome to Rockville. Happy we made through this interview and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thanks for having us pipe Man. Cheers brother. Great to finally meet you in person.
