04 Hey, you live on too, That's sure. I'm come for see why you wake up of America. It's time for the adventure. So pipe Man on W forcy dot com west pom Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. Way can it? It's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W for c Y Radio and on me here with Cava. Luis nice And did you come all the way across the pond just to do Riot Fest? Yes? Well our dream is always to come back to the US, and so we're like when we had the opportunity, we did everything we could to come here, and we did. We did some sessions that would audio tree, and we're doing another show after Riot first for the after parties and to us is a dream come true? Nice and so what makes it? I want I always like to know what makes it a dream come true to come here to play, because like a lot
38 of us over here are like it's a dream come true to go to the UK or Europe for festivals. So it's like the like I do download, I do Bloodstock, and I'm like, man, I just want to do I wish the weather was better. I'll live here and just do these festivals. But then the weather, I don't know how you handle that either, because it's like I'm at Download and I'll have my hoodie on one minute, ten minutes layer of take it off ten minutes layer and put it back on. Then i gotta get my rain shit out and then I'm freezing and it's like I can't predict even a minute of the day. That's British weather for you, right, Yeah, literally, that's just that's the trademark, so you can change from one hour to the next. Is wild. It is wild, and then the listen I live in Florida at Download Bloodstock. The first two days I was like, send me back to Florida so I can cool down because it was so freaking hot. And then the next day I'm like, can we have yesterday's weather please? I mean, like, what the thing that makes it a dream come true? Like I mean specifically for right Fest, because we've been looking up that festival for years and the lineup is always top like this. It's always just artists that we love and that you know, it feels like a place we want to be just you know, and performing is an honor. Yeah, that's may say a dream comes to be here specifically today and the weather right and so US Americans right now think this weather here is kind of cool, like later when it gets colder.
09 But you guys, you're used to that, Like that was the thing to me. It's like in Florida, when the sun goes down, it gets hotter. Okay, so sun goes down over there, I'm like, fuck, why didn't I bring a jacket? Yeah? Definitely. But riot Fest. Why I love about riot Fest is it is always has a cool lineup, but it's also the way they run the festival, like compared to other US festivals, like I was at one recently. I won't say the name or talk about it was not the experience of riot Fest. Let's just put it that way and google it. You'll find it. Well. It's funny because we've had so many great things about the festival itself, obviously not just a lineup, but from friends that before in the previous years, like well Villain, for example, I couldn't, you know, candn't stop braving about the people there, the organization, how it was, how it was handled, and you know how how much of a great experience they had.
13 I got a personal question for you how many people think you're the singer of Bush Bush. Yeah, I've never had it before. Really, you do kind of look like a younger Gavin Rodsdale for sure, right, I mean he looks a little old now. So we'll say, okay, see it right, See it's even the hair, even the hair, do you see it? No? Okay, well we'll trust a female instinct then. Yeah. So what band here at riot Fest would you like to see? Okay, so there's there's just so many. The lineups are always just like top notch and fantastic and like personally, I really I'm looking forward to seeing Death Grips. I've never seen them before, Turnstile as well, Like we've just seen Code Orange, like well actually that's still playing, but like we're still the start of this set, absolutely amazing, Like yeah, supercipical the we've just seen the Rex as well before that. Yeah. Yeah, looking forward to seeing sleep Tooken. Uh yeah, any others yeah, Cassia she she plays more right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, just so many bands. Ma. I'm like, mister Bungle, I want to see that's the number one. Yeah, because I'm from a these thrash metal Okay, sick that's the one band I've never seen that's from that old scene, man, and there's so much better now. And I fucking love Dave Lamarto better.
47 Yeah, I mean, like unbelievable drummer who are used to hang out with them when we were teenagers because I went to the first Slayer show ever cool, you know, So it's like he's playing in two bands to that. At this festival, he's playing with Empire State Bastards too Cool Cool, which I saw them at Download. I'm like, Wow, they're freaking good. That was an earth thing. Okay, So for me a dream come true was seeing Bringing the Horizon their home country. Couse, I've seen him multiple times here. That was a world of difference at Download when they play. I saw them a couple of weeks later in Florida's show. I was they were opening up for Full Out Boy. I was like, yeah, I don't know, like I missed Download because that was a much better show.
39 Soccer players like playing their own country that It's always like that excitement. It's like the home turf vibe, isn't it. It's like you've got that that like support from where you came from, exact more energy they're like, exactly, it was wild because I was in the pit for them both nights of Metallica and Slayer. There pit was the best far none. People were losing their shit in that pit, like and slip knots usually the one word or losing bring me, they were losing their shit. Yeah, yeah, that's pretty wild. So yeah, and for me too, Like it was a dream when I was a teenager to go to the UK. So it always blows my mind when UK people say it's a dream to come over here, because I remember the punk scene back in the eighties, like it was there. I'm like, I wish I could go to UK and check out the punk scene there, and I never did then. But it's wild.
36 How people are you wherever you are, You look at someplace else and you're like, that's the dream. Yeah, that's it. That's it. And it's sometimes I feel like it seems so like kind of unreachable because of the distance. Yeah, you know, it's it's such it's so far away. The two countries are separated by the ocean, and it's like, well, it's even the Marder. It's not like you can drive. It causes drive across you know, it's like, yeah, you have to plan. Yeah, and then it was really screwed when you know, yeah COVID, and then after COVID, it was so hard for bands like you to get a visa to come over you know, like a lot of bands had tours over here afterwards and they couldn't get the visa. You know. So that's a rough thing. I think people don't realize when people are like, why won't they come play here? There's a lot of red tape. You gotta deal with the gistics. No, there's yeah, it's like it's a lot.
28 We're almost like, this is the second time in common to America and the first time we almost didn't make it because the visa took Like it was such a crazy process. Yeah, you know, yeah, it's a lot to deal with. So what's your guys definitely worth it. What's the craziest story you guys have in your musical career? The Okay, so the first time we came to the States last year, like there was just a colossal fuck up without baggage and like it basically it didn't like we had to ute jest because no, it wasn't a fuck It was that when we boarded the flight to come to Austin. They were tornadoes happening and the flight had to have a detour to Dallas and it was just like tornadoes like things that you know don't happen in the UK. And when we landed, we were like, where are we We have no idea where we are. We had to take massive trains in the airport to go to another part of the airport and that doesn't exist neither where we're from. And when we finally got our luggage and tried to board another plane, they were like they didn't know if we could get in the plane or not. It full kind of like the apocalypse, and they were like saying surnames like randomly, like like like calling people out
01 and if you wouldn't if you weren't there at the right time, at the right moment, they were giving your seat to another Wow. And uh. And we had to show the next day after wow. So but I mean it was it was not a facult because like what can they do with tornadoes? Like we we were we were very very like wow, that's a that's a very like our first time or first time we come here, and we're like we get tornadoes we get we land in a different city that we were not supposed to land. Welcome to America. But it was very nice. Nevertheless, like it was, it was, we made it and uh and we got to see twenty five states last year. Yea, so we traveled a lot around it and we got to see this beautiful country. Did you notice when you go to all these states, it's like a different country, Like we shouldn't even be one country. We should be like Europe because the cultures are different. The way we speak is different, the thought processes, the land, the geographic like, it's none of it's the same. Well, we went to I think where was somewhere in the Midwest or like Minneapolis.
20 When we're there, they were telling us, when you go to this date, you got to say do you like do you guys like corn? Like the corn fields? So we did it and then the whole audience was like yes, I'm so super proud of the of the cornfields and that was amazing. Like it was, we had the best experience around. I'll tell you what. What flips me out every time I go to UK is driving on the wrong side of the road with the stick shift over here and I can't judge either. But walking is worse for me. Okay, every time I'm going across the street, especially in London, Oh my god, my friends will like grab me because I will look the wrong way walk in and almost get run over. You know, it's because your brain's not wired for it. Like, well, I'm driving at UK, it's like I have to super focus because I'm like especially the roundabouts, like they mess with my head big time. Okay, I can do them here, but it's like where do I get off? Sometimes I'll ride around like three times just to kind of get my brain work and to figure out where to get off.
35 It sounds about right right. How about do you guys drive here at all? That's it freaking we have not this time, not yet, but last year we have. Yeah, so I was the only one driving of the bombs last year ben Guy's license since but yeah, it was but things that I'm French, right, so I'm used to driving on the right side, but living in the UK, I got used to driving on the other side right. But I still had a French car, so I still had like a you know, the wheel on the other side. I mean, it's all messed up. So It's kind of like we have to get used to just like look everywhere, just drive any any kind of any any places, any kind of car. It doesn't matter. Just I like, when you rent a car like the one I read died recently, it said look left or drive left or something. There was a stick or like right in my face. I'm like, okay, that's reminded me good. It's like telling you because they know that we're tourists going there and are. There are times where I'm not even thinking about I'm on the wrong side of road. I see a car coming, I'm like, why are they on the wrong side of the road, And then I'm like, oh shit, I'm the one on the wrong side of the road. Oh, very very scary, totally.
45 So anything else we want to share with the listeners about you guys or what you got coming up that we haven't talked about yet, Well, we've just released a single, like literally well last week. What I don't even know what day we are stay wait what is it? That's that's the roads video with it that you can check out on YouTube and streaming services. Jesseph did all the music videos, which is crazy three D animation and you know, compositing. Do you want to talk about it? I like CGI and so I made it with on real Engine and Blender. Nice. I think it looks pretty good, very cool. I love stuff like that too, because the artistry of music is way beyond just the music. Yes, you know, it's all the other things. You know, it's all art.
39 So I love it. How do people check out the new song, new video? Connect on your soul shoals and most importantly by your merch. Yes, please tell tell them, Now tell them where we go? So yeah, we can find us caval Louis c A l v A l o U I se anywhere like on Google, like you get Instagram and everything. And then we go merch. We go a bunch of little things pens, picks, guitarpics and yeah, and watch the videos because we put a lot of effort and there's a story that it gets more concrete in every video. Yes, I think that's it. I love it, and I love you guys.
24 Glad you were here at riot Fest here in the States, and maybe I'll see you at download that'd be another dream. So yeah, I'm putting that out there. Let's manifest it, ladies. You have to put them on download. Yes so, and thanks for being on the adventures of plat Man. Oh, thank you so much. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man. I'm W four CUI Radio.
