04 Hey, you listening too, Is that sure? I'm coming from four see wow, you wake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four CWY dot com West Pond Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here with Henry.

57 I'm Mike from buston Manta Nights here at Louder than Life. I was very excited because during the day I don't really get out of here much because it's like bang bang bang. But I heard you guys loud and clear from right here, and I was super excited about that great set. And then I did step out and I'm like, holy shit, there's a lot of people out there for early in the day. Did that blow your mind too, Yeah, definitely, Like it's quite an early set, so you never really know what to expect that sort of time, but it was, it was, It was great. We've never been to Kentucky before either, so a lovely first experience. Yeah. It's it's different, right, yea from other places in the US. Kentucky is like a different It's one of the only states that we haven't played I think really yeah, like we we've done a lot of different places, and well I don't think we've it's the only place in Gas Kentucky is the Midwest. Is in the Midwest, was of the South. It's kind of a little bit both as somebody who's a Yankee from the Northeast, I served a little bit both. It's war Midwest though, because it's around the Indiana area and all that. Yeah, we're not far from like Indianapolis and stuff right now, not at all, like you could go into Indianapolis just going over the bridge right here, like it's like right there. Yeah, well we don't. We don't, Like we do a Nashville bunch and places like Ohio and we played Indianapolis. But yeah, first first time here, and feel very lucky to be able to come down home music area, I need to be honest. And then there's also I

30 don't know if you guys are gamers at all, but there's this bar near here that has all these retro arcade games at the bar that's really American invention. We discovered that when we first like toy in the States, the right every there's a lot of barcade stuff I'm it's great. It's cool, man, it's pretty cool. Starting to like cross over to the UK now as well. We're starting to get the barcade's seen. See. It's so funny. We always go back and forth, like since I'm a kid, it's like, okay, our music is influenced by the British and then it goes back the other way. And it's funny. When I go over to the UK to do festivals there, I'm like, holy shit, this band is still around. Oh yeah, they've been here all these years. They left the US and there over here, I'm like, oh cool, you know, and you guys definitely know how to do festivals too over there. I just got back from Bloodstock and download. Oh yeah cool. I was driving down to Cornwall and I stopped to like a service station and there was like five hundred like gristled metal heads in this service station. I was like, what's going on this weekend? And I think it was Bloodsock. It is like around down the like down the road from Bloodstocker b but it looked like a cool, cool weekend. Bloodstock is a great festival, yeah, But that's the cool thing about the Danny Wimmer festivals. Is. I think he's really smart. He kind of copies the UK European model. Yeah, because

02 you guys know, most of the American festivals are not like this. No, we've been lucky enough to do a few of Danny Women's fessels. Shout Danny Women, thank you for having us. We've done a few we did like Welcome to Rockville and stuff like that Sonic Temple, and yeah, it feels very familiar to us. This is, you know, the kind of the European yeah, festival model, and it's great exactly, but they take care of us so well here, Like we've been having a great That's all I ever hear from Morris, which makes me happy because there's so many yeah yeah, so many times you guys are treated like shit and like at other places, and it's like without the artists, there is no event. It's a two way street though, you know, like people here have been working suit you can tell have been working their asses off all weekend. So yeah, you know, it's about showing showing respect to all the stuff that make these vessels happen. So I think quite often people that run these vessels don't get enough enough credit for like right down to you know, security and and like people doing running shuttles and all that kind of stuff that without it, festivals doesn't happen. You know. Well, I'm here to tell you I did a festival a couple of weeks ago that I'm sure you know about that was the exact opposite of the Danny Wimmer experience. Okay, if you know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah. And then even last year it was like, so they had artists catering in the middle of GA in the middle of GA of general admission. Oh like we're all at gerald mission people like and no carts. Yeah, okay, so you're expecting artist to walk through

39 the crowd to get to catering. Gem pop. Sure. Now I gotta talk about your hat because we were talking about Midwest Southern as a very Midwest Southern. People have been saying this, So is the waffle House is like a Midwest Southern thing? It is? Is it not all over the country? We No, we make fun to waffle House. We I mean, we're talking about people that have been taken care of as waffle House have been hooking Boston matter up. Today. Nice, we went to the waffle House this morning. They gave us all hats and they let us go behind the counter and like fuck around and stuffy, and we've been eating a waffle house for many a year. They've always provided us. It's like the US equivalent of like Weatherspoon in the UK. Like a lot of bands when they come over to the UK, they'll go and eat a Weatherspoon. Is cheap, cheerful and nutritious breakfast for not too much money. So and they're everywhere like the waffle house. Have you know, sometimes there's one way across street from another. I don't know if you've seen that yet. There's there's like a very we're very privileged. There's a British band because we we were a bit of a novelty everywhere we go here and there's also like five of us, so you know, five British people walking and we'll end up in like weird places. Well, and first started, it's a bit sort of like unusual for kind of five British men to just walk into a waffle house. And then we find out they find out that we're in a rock band, and we get to just be kind of like the novelty customer of the days.

00 People are always like super nice and friendly to us. It's really lucky. It's I could probably see that too, because it was in a gas station in North Dakota, like the middle of nowhere, North Dakota, and they could not believe that there was like a British rock band in their gas station, so they just gave us free gas. Wow, like just just take it, just go. They probably never even heard anybody to add your accent before. Yeah, they were losing their minds and they were like filming us, getting us to say stuff. And it's funny because we're so They were probably sitting around the campfire at they like that was their main source of conversation. It was cool. Yeah, it was about the most interesting I've ever felt in my life, which is which is nice. I love it.

45 That's so cool, And you know, it kind of blows my mind when I go to your country and people say something about my acts and I'm like, what are you talking about? I don't have an accent in the UK. I feel like when American people are in the UK, they like treated like they were movie star or something like I know right here in the American accent in the UK is like it's kind of a big deal. You know. Now here's what's funny about that that there's people that move here from the UK that they put including an ex wife of mine who was from the UK. She was what you would get this, nobody here would get this. So she used to act like she was a royal and she was very snooty, looked down on the Americans. She was better than a she was from Newcastle. Newcastle's great show a Newcastle up the tune's fun I'm surprised people could understand her accent, because even she struggled with the Geordi ac She did something though, because her accents sounded like the Queen's language. They called it RP speaking RP. There you go. I don't know. I have no idea, but an RP accent is like a sort of what do you call it?

54 When you go to like speech yes and the Queen's English accution lessons, that's the one you can I've not been toddy. It's like the first time I went to Birmingham. My friends from London like, you're not gonna understand a word. They stay to you and I got off the plane, I'm like, can you say that in English? Please? We did our first of a tour with like a sort of international band. We're supporting them in the UK, and we did like Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and then Glasgow all in a row, and all of like the in house engineers have like really thick local accents, and now we're having such a hard time understanding someone Like I really think Glasswegian accent is so awesome, but if you're like not familiar with it, it's pretty hard to understand sometimes, no doubt. Yeah, shout out the Scots a lot, love a Glasswegion. We talk about that too. It's funny because but I'm used to it, like being here, we have different accents different parts of the country, and you know, some things people say to me, I can't understand what they're saying because they're too fucking slum. What's you thinks to weirdest American accent? What's not Boston?

05 Oh yeah, that's pretty distinct, Yeah, because they're like over there pocket ka ka, like there's no r Yeah, it's kind of sick, you know, hots to doing impression of I think like it's the hottest one to do and see me like I've toned mine down. But you know, the New York accent to me, is like the real one because when I was in school, like the way we speak with the water dog coffee, that's how it is in the dictionary here in the American Dictionary, that's how it's phonetically spelled. So like when people say shit to me, I'm like, you're the one saying it wrong, not me. So we're gonna do after Lauder Go home nice. Literally wait, well, we're flying out tomorrow morning. We're home for a week and then we fly back to the States to do after Shop Festival. Now we're gonna do some headline shows. So if you'll listen to this and you're in California, Utah, Colorado, check out all to dates online. We're doing about four headline shows. I think I love After Shock. Yeah, I've never played it before, but it's a great festival. And you see how we have this back here, they have one like that after Shock, but it's got a different vibe. It's got more to California vibe, and all the artists hang out because it's like real, that's really cool thing. I like that cool. We did Bryant Fest last year that was a bit like I was there for that. I was there this year too, but you'll love Aftershock. It's a cool boy.

35 We're really excited and very grateful to be back in the States, like after COVID. It's it's really difficult for British band's very expensive to get over here, so and sometimes you can't even get the visa like which really hard. It's it's very expensive. Now they've they've opened the prices of the visas and stuff, so it's it's it's a lot of money to come up for brit show. It's hard enough for your artists as it is, because you're not making money off the music anymore. You got all these expenses extra, which is why people need to if they want to listen to my show, they got to buy your merch because that's the only way artists survive. So let's tell them how they connect you on socials on the web and how they can buy your merch check out your music, tour dates and all that.

16 Hell yeah, well we're called bust the matter. Our handles on like Instagram and Twitter are buston Manna without the vowels, So BSCNM and R. Our website is bust a mantaband dot com. I mean, if you Google is you'll find pretty much everything that you need to find. You know, our merch stores on our website and along with our live dates. So if you want to see if we're playing there, you head to our website and check out tour dates and you can buy tickets from there as well. Nice craziest story in your musical journey? What would you say it is? We got loads of it, man, I'm sure that's why that's a hard questions. Craziest. I don't know about craziest, but you got you got any?

56 Any comes to mind? Crazy tour stories that were allowed to he does. He's trying fear out which one he can actually say. Oh, yeah, we when we were still like first started touring the States, we're like kind of doing scrappy touring, like crashing at people's houses after the shows and stuff and sleeping in the van and things. A body of us said we could crash at his place, and we went back to he was working. We've done like an overnight drive from Salt Lake City and we got there like seven in the morning and he was the work. He's like, come mat mill work and pick up the keys and you can just go back to my place and sleep. Before the show, so we're like, cool, we grabbed his keys and the door was unlocked anyway, but we went into his apartment.

39 It was like a condo, like a terrorist condo kind of thing. Right, went in there and the dog's gone crazy. We're like, oh, I don't know Josh had a dog, but cool. So we're kind of hanging out with this dog and super excited to see us, and we like having a shower and stuff, and you know, kind of getting ready, picking our spots and ready to get some sleep. And I'm in the shower and then our tour manager comes running in and he's like, dude, we have to leave right now. And I was like what. He's like, this isn't Josh's house. This is his neighbor's house, and we got the wrong building. And the dog's obviously going crazy because seven strangers have just like marched into his house. So yeah, we got the funk out of that sharpish, but not something you can really do in America is walk on announced into somebody else's home. So you're lucky to still be here. Yeah, pretty much in Kentucky, it's oh yeah, yeah, for sure.

28 It turns out though, that his neighbors were like friends with him, and he told them and they're very nice about it. But yeah, that could have gone pretty badly. That could have gotten really wrong, especially in Kentucky. That if you're in like the deep mountains of Kentucky, that would have been bad scenario. I saw him told ye An, So I don't think I would be too excited about seeing a bunch of strangers taking showers in my house either. To be fair, I wouldn't either. Any final words you want to leave our listeners with that, we haven't covered a raid up. Maybe they need to know of anything coming up or whatever you want. Well, thank you so much for listening to us, Yammeran. We got we got a record called The Tora that came out last year you can check out online. And we just finished recording part two to that record, which is coming out next year. So a lot of a lot of stuff happening in the Boston man accoumpt. Yeah, check out those those US headline shows later this month, next month technically, but in a couple of weeks. And yeah, well, if we're not playing near you, I'll miss run.

28 Then we'll hopefully see a show next year. Nice. Well, I love that you're here at larded in life. It can't wait for aftershock and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thanks for having us man my pleasure. Hey, this is Henry and Mike from Boston, Manna and you'll listen to pipe Man on W four c Y Radio. Thank you for listening to the adventure years of Pateman on W for CUI Radio. M
