The Adventures of Pipeman...
0:04 Hey, you love thee too? Is such sure? I'm come from for see why for you? Wake up America. It's time for the adventure. So pipe Man on w for cy dot com West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man, and this is up. Everything is on me, no way. I'll let you know what I work for online and what you're saying. Oh, I'm sacrifice for it. I would never let anything take your soul before me. I will rate it up. You should take it for a man. If you want take from me, sit on you nocause it's the pipe Man here on the Adventures.
0:53 Pipe Man do four c Y Radio and I'm here web We'll feel you from the band dot HP nice here a bloodstock holy shit? Right yeah, we want the Metal to the Masses competition. And it turns out that we are basically headlining the new Blood stage here. Wow, that's sick. Yeah? Is that like surreal day? Did you even expect that at all? It is surreal because we're playing together for like maybe two years or something. Wow. And yeah this year we had Poland Rock Festival already, which was crazy huge, like it was super big and right now I'm seeing all those people here that I know they are here for music, so I'm not nevers at all. I just want to destroy the stage and that's all. Oh I love it, love it, love it. That's the way it should be, right, Yeah, get out there and kill it. Of course.
1:48 So I don't normally go here. But tell me a little bit about how you spell your band name? Had that come about? Okay? I get it a lot, actually, and I don't normally ask by a name questions, but yours are so interesting, man, I know, I know. Well, basically BHP in Polish stands for like safety instructions, instructions in my workplace. But that's not our name. Our name is just letters that there is. It's not not an acronym, no, not anything does shot for anything. I just wanted three letters because I got a lot of products in my life that just had to be free less. I love I love the concept of it, you know. And I wanted to get a graffiti logo so that it stands out on posters and all that stuff, because I think it does. And I just walked out of my studio and right next to it there's a huge banner of BAHP I'm like, that's perfect, because that's gonna be like perfect waited out, like you know, symmetrical all that stuff. That's that's all it is really And what about to Die? Actually, Oh, that's interesting. There is a YouTube channel that's called Hazardous Substances and they post a lot of undergone new metal, like from the two thousands and late nineties something like that, and all of them have like dots or underscores or something in that name. So that's just a tribute for them.
3:15 Nice. How do you compare performing here in the UK to performing at home? Well, I don't know yet. I'm gonna find out the first time. It's my first time abroad actually, like first time playing abroad ever. Wow, it's gonna be amazing, right it should be. So describe your music our listeners, not from a genre label type of thing, but how you as an artist would describe your music. Well, that's pretty simple for me. I keep the riffs heavy and keep the courses catchy. That's all I need. Maybe some breakdowns here and there, but that's what you need.
3:58 Like in all of modern heavy music. I think like New Medal is just here to signal that we're for fans of like linkin Park or Corner sleep On or whatever. But basically, I know we sounded like a lot of other bands. What what's the one band that influenced me the most become a new medal band? Actually, do you know the band Tala I've heard of. It's the Mike Portnoy's sound on drums and stuff. They released an album in twenty twenty called Matri Fagi and that inspired me to make a band actually, like at all, because I was like, my favorite album ever, I think is the self titled sleep Not album. Yeah, that's the pure aggression you know the rons. Sure, yeah, I see it. I've seen it for three days actually, so that's my kind of go to album for everything, right uh. And then I was like, yeah, it was cool like twenty years ago, but now I don't think people will get that. And I've heard tell and I was like, yeah, that's it.
5:06 That's where you need to go. The modern South combined with the old school like Pink is Snare, like the I know, Blacky Ribs, you know what I mean? Yeah, that's all I really needed. Cool. What's the craziest thing that's happened to you on this musical journey? I know, it's just too crazy maybe and we're a new band. We just started playing, right, But two weeks ago we had like a warm up show for the Pollen Rock Festival and all that stuff. It was like in the basement, like fifty people here or something, and like a guy who's like ten years old comes up to me. It's like, I'm sorry, do you have any CDs? I'm like, yeah, sure, you got some CDs? Right. He's like, it's my first third time seeing you.
5:56 It was like, what a ten year old fans crazy? It's so freaking cool. That's super cool. He got some like drumsticks from us and all that stuff. He came with his mom. I love it. Yeah, that was crazy. Sometimes as kids, I'll come with their mom or dad and they're like dragged there and they don't want it. Yeah, but the mom was kind of excited to be here. Like right, yeah, you guys are from the band. That's so cool. I love it. I love it. That's very fun. So what you got going on after blood Stock? What's in the works? We got some Polish gigs, like we don't play abroad this year. We have material Fest, which is headlined by Saputa too. We've got some are Dying Loud festival too in Poland, some Candle Mass and all that stuff, and some club gigs because basically we don't really have time to gig as much and we really want to release new new stuff this year. So we have some some songs, some songs we're sitting on right now just to do like a pretty video to it, and that's gonna be awesome. So tell me this story of what formless band like that happened. Well, basically, first of all, I've heard tell But second of all, I've met our drummer Igor. I work at a like a rehearsal room space like a studio and a rehearsal and stuff, so I know a lot of musicians from there, like a lot, like the whole wars always knows me for sure. It stuck up to us that our rehearsal are
7:29 our influences are kind of similar, and we played some jams and stuff. We were like, yeah, this is great, right, So I got some friends from the studio just to try it out. I had some songs written already, but we didn't have a singer right. So one time we did like what we call rehearsal with beer, so that's more like a party instead of But we played some riffs and I invited our singer who worked like upstairs, and she was like, yeah, let's go, let's have some beers or whatever, right, and she sang for a little bit. And the first thing she actually sank on that rehearsal was the chorrestar our first single, so I was like, yeah, that's it, here we go.
8:16 And I knew her before, but she only sang like soft country, like acoustic stuff, so I didn't know, you know, she was capable of that. And then I wrote a song with some screams in it. Next screams basically you know, right, and she didn't know how to scream. So I got her one lesson, one lesson at my friend's place, and she knew how to scream instantly. She learned in like three days or something. That's crazy. That's amazing, and we recorded that and that's the it's the song of our set. Of course I love it. So how do people connect you? On socials and the web? Check out all your music to our dates and an emerging my. Obviously we're at every streaming platform you can imagine, uh, Spotify, Apple Music, your name is Instagram at HP Underscore band Facebook just BHP on Facebook, we posted out of tour dates and all that stuff, So that's where you're gonna find it. Instagram to Instagram stories are basically the best place to go nice. Is there anything else you want the listeners to know about your band that we haven't covered yet?
9:24 Basically, if you hear the name New Medal, you don't have to associate it with something bad because I know a lot of people like grated to that right, they hear New Medals like, oh yeah, nah right maybe being yeah. Yeah. First of all, I really I am really part of I think corn formed like most of heavy music right now. So I'm pretty sure that you guys listen to a lot of stuff which is influenced by New Medal anyway, Yeah, so give it a try. Basically, there it is. I definitely think they should give it a try. You guys are badass. I'm so glad you're here at butt Blood Scott And thank you for being on the Adventures of Pike Man. Thank you very much, appreciate your man my pleasure. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipe Man on W four CUI Radio.
