0:04 Hey, you lunt here. That's true for see why Crazy Young. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here with What's Up. I'm Nathan from Aura Weave. Nice here at Louder than Light. Fuck you? Yeah? Is this a fucking badass festival or what? One of the coolest things I've ever been a part of? Dean thank you? See I love hearing that. So I'm gonna go with that and ask you how does Danny Wimmer treat his artists that play here? Dude, this is the ship we come from. I don't know how much you know about our band, but we come from a completely different world, a completely different genre.
0:49 Did you just well too? Don't get me wrong, but this it's the next echelon of just hospitality and logistics and everything's been fucking awesome, man. And you know what, Speaking of that, that's where I think Danny is superior in the US because he's literally gone over to Europe and checked out their festivals. And that's what Europe does. They just mixed genres. It doesn't matter, like you're here, Slayers here, insane icps here, Yeah, shit like that, Like that doesn't normally happen in the US. True, And I'm looking at one of your tattoos. I was here last week, this one here, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was here last week for Bourban Beyond where Fish played awesome.
1:30 So I was like channeling a little grateful Dead from your tattoo. Yeah, man, Yeah, I got some hippie tats for sure. And I love that because I always say I'm a metal head, punker hippie. Our people right there. Man, why do. You need to be in a box like I come from the time, Like if you like this, you can't like this me too much? Bullshit me too, man. I think we're coming out of that altogether. I love it, most of us, you know what I mean? I know the gatekeeper shit is stupid. It's burnt, man, it's burned, dude. Oh you got the drip. That shit's the bomb. I'm so excited for this right now. I'm so excited. Yeah. Is it great to come to a festival and I have a free open drip bar. It's fucking insane. Like I said, man, it's awesome. It's cool that you mentioned Europe too, because we just got back from a festival in Spain called Roto tom Oh.
2:18 Wow, I just did Resurrection Festival. Okay, say oh dude, Spain rules. Man. Yeah, but this is like the premiere, like the biggest reggae festival in the world. And the thing about Europe, like you said, man, the hospitality is next level and there's not a lot of American fests that offer that. And so shout out to Danny because he really is bringing that kind of love over here. Yeah, and that's why these are the best festivals in the US and we need to have you on all the Danny Wimmer fest. We are so ready to rock, man. That was we just got off stage. It is probably the funnest set of my fucking career. I've been doing this for like fifteen years. It was amazing. Man, does it blow your mind that it's not even really necessarily your genre. It's early in the day, insane and you had that kind of crowd.
2:59 They showed us so much love, so many people singing too, man. And we've learned, because we're a band that crosses genres, we've learned to not have expectations. We show up to reggae festivals, we show up to fucking like grimy hippie festivals like we'd the Deep cut some friends on Kenemene and shit, come, this is our first rock and metalfest. Wow, We've decided to just drop any and all expectations and show up and play the same regardless and let what's gonna happen happen. And today, man, it was fucking incredible. I'm playing out to Danny that next year you have to do a doubleheader. You have to do Bourbon Beyond and Louder than Light. Ready, dude, let's go. Right because you would fit into both of them. They do some jam stuff at Bourbon as well. Yeah, Fish Fish Blues Traveler.
3:42 Okay, the fuck out. I was under the impression it was mostly country, but so he's bringing. A little less country. It's more rock, like Collective Soul was here and Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors and and then it's a lot of jam band, it's a lot of blues, it's a lot of blue grass, right, and then some country too. So it's like such a great mix. Yeah, so you would fit right in. We're ready to do we We've become experts at showing up to places where we don't necessarily belong and having a great time with everybody. That's all it counts, right, having a great time you the artists, and mayn't be attended. Yeah, man, yeah, absolutely, So. How would you describe your band without using genre?
4:23 Right? How would you describe your band to people? It's hard to describe us without using a genre. While we don't fall into just one week like intentionally blend too. So we've dubbed the term reggae core. I love that. That's a great name. Yeah. It's fun, man, it's fun. Have to kind of be in the space and in the niche to understand. Like, reggae metal has been done before by some greats, you know, like bands have dabbled into it, and there's been different combinations of reggae and metal throughout the years. But what I think we're bringing to the table is like it's different because we come from our era, right, So we're blending like a modern reggae style and a modern metal style. So it's kind of like just given that it's different than what's come before it. I love it because that's a metal head too. Many metal bands sound exactly the same nowadays because I say, they use this like algebraic equation, right, So I love bands like you that bring other elements in so it's unique and you stand out and something like I could say I love that band and I know who that is. Yeah, they're playing.
5:21 Well, thanks man, Thanks, And I'll say this too, like rock and metal listeners are like you would. They often get a bad rapis tough guy, angry whatever. Some of the most loving and welcoming fucking fans that we've ever had. Yeah, that's what people don't realize about metal heads. We're the nicest people and a whole family and not as scary as. Of one hundred percent. Man. I can relate, man, because I actually grew up playing metal. I grew up playing hardcore, death core, metal core, nice and then I did reggae for ten years. So I've lived in both lives and I've always tried to represent that side of metal wherever I go of Like, it's not all scary, they're not tough guys, they're not angry. Sure, we're okay with expressing our emotions as that aheads by being pissed off, where a lot of people run from that kind of shit, we lean into it. There's so much positive in it, like freedom of expression in the music.
6:07 You know, So how do people reach out to you on socials on the web, check out all your stuff, buy your merg Yeah they can't listen to my show, and let's say buy your merk. Right on man. Thanks. Yeah, it's our tag on everything. Our handle on everything is just Aurorawave music. Other than like Spotify and stuff just a roorer wave but Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, all that stuff Aurorawave Music. Nice. What else do you want to let the listeners know that we haven't touched on yet. I'm feeling some kind of way because we just got off stage, so I'm feeling overrun by a sense of gratitude and we've been dreaming about this moment for a really long time. I just want to say thank you, Danny, thank you to the fans, and fucking I can't believe we're here. Dude, Well you guys are badass. I want to see a lot more Damni Wimmer festivals. And thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man.
6:54 Thanks Dean, nice to meet you, bro. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Patement on w for CUI Radio. Yah
