04 Hey, you listening too, Sure, I'm coming. I'm for see wow for Wake Up America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on w for cy dot com. West pom Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. Let's go shoal dog crap now, Joe, I rode up y dog real right, listen, it's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man w f C Y Radio. And I'm here with I'm oblivion. See that's why I do that. You're the second today and do that. Bands always say their name core than I do.
04 And if there's something I can't pronounce, then I don't fuck don't stumble over it. Man, it's cool, right exactly. You know it's like, uh, what'd you say? ORMs of oblivious? So tell us a little bit about you, guys. I don't mean from a genre standpoint, but how would you describe your music to the listeners, because I think that's what you need to find out what the artists thinks, not some stupid label that somebody puts on you. We're gonna two parts because I'm going to do it, and then I'm going to hand it over to Pete to finish it perfect. But basically we always say we're groove metal, soup so cool.
47 So yeah, it's groove metal. But there's other bits and bobs in there. Yeah, there's there's bits of seputurists like oh the store, the fucking cool stuff from Nighties We fucking hung on too, and we've just kind of like made made it our own thing, added our own touch to it. So there's grove, there's fucking heavy stuff, fas stuff, slow stuff, just whatever the fuck we want really, and we just kind of we kind of created our sound. Uh, and it's yeah, it's it's it's based on nineties groove metal, that type of thing, you know. So and that, you know, what you just said is key to me because if it's not your own sound, then why do I want to go see you when I can see the other band you sound exactly late. Well, I'm very fucking picky with what riffs I come up with, and I know if I come up with a fucking Pantera riff or Metallica riff, I'm like, now it goes to the fucking ban man, right, I see. And that's that's what I fucking stuck to you from day one It's like I love these fucking bands, but I don't want to sound like them. I just want to capture the groove. You know. It's like why I do interviews and publicists send me links to previous interviews. I never listened on yeah, and I don't want to listen to somebody else's interview. And then it's somehow get my head and I do it in I interview, you know. And I'm gonna trip you out right now because you say nineties, but one of the bands you mentioned, I consider eighties because I was at the first Slayer show ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, and I was like, I was at the second to last show ever in Oakland was
23 great place. And the publicists the reason she had me go is like, what a great story you have. You're at like the first and the last, you know, And do you think I come back? No? No, Tom's Done's done. And look at how long it's taken for Kerry to do another project too, which I thought he would came out with something by now. And look at Lombardo. He's the busiest fucking musician in history. He's in like seven bands right now. It's like ridiculous. He played at download with the singer of Biffy Syro. They have a band now, they have a band, now another one. And then I'm seeing Lombaro. I was friends with him back in they I'm seeing Lombardo at riot Fest playing in mister Bungle, yeah, East there's some stuff a gunship as well, man, Yeah, and Testament. Yeah. And I saw him a couple of years ago with the original Misfits. I was bad, and I know that was a dream of his because he was always a punk, you know, Like that's what made Slayer great is two of them were punks, two of them were metal heads, and that brought us all together, mixing those whole genres up. Yeah, yeah, because it was stupid. I'm a punk and a metal head, but I couldn't be a punk while as a teenager because I had long hair and you get your ass, okay, and no one wants a woman for the musical types, man, exactly. It was stupid. We're similar and we're both getting her assis kicked by the jocks in school. Band together, honestly, no different in the UK. We said
55 we had the same stuff in the UK. You know, it's crazy. You're in the hard, aggressive music that takes you somewhere. You know what I mean, It's just be brothers in it, you know, Ray exactly. Listen. I I finally got to see some of my favorite bands from the eighties that I couldn't see then and interviewed them, like The Exploited and Discharge and gh Like I interviewed Discharge here last year. I was in their pit. He best health fest, insane, and I'm so happy. I'm like, oh my god, forty years later, I'm finally in a Discharge pit. Man. That's just a old man. That's fucking cool. It's so cool. So now I get to be if I'm not doing interview, I get to be in your pit here at Bloodstock, which is just as cool. There you go. It's awesome music. Should you not? Shouldn't it? You know? I mean I think that's what blood sucks all about.
00 Because I come over here and I go this first one, I'm like, man, this is so cool. There are no outcasts here. We're all fucking outcasts. Everyone's just cracking on and everyone's just getting on with it, doing their thing, and nobody else cares, which is what it should be. So what you guys got new coming out after this. We're oh man, we're back in the studio, wat in the window. Yeah, pens within for November, drum tracking for our next thing, which I won't be out to the next year now. So we've done We've done two EPs back to back yearly, so next one we want to Yeah, maybe an album. You know, we've got enough material. We've got so much stuff for written, so it's just weeding now what we want to put on it, eight tracks or whatever. Some of our stuff tends to gravitate towards eight minutes, ten minute wrong some of that stuff, so it's trying to pick out what's going to fit on there. I mean, our last EP was a lot more short songs. The first EP lots of long songs, so we would love to mix it up. Man, we don't love it, and I love that you do some long songs because we're in this age where people don't even listen to a whole song. It's fucking ridiculous because that long song takes you through this journey and escaped all the bullshit in your head.
15 Yeah, I mean, it's a tool man, so I can I can do twenty minute songs? Did you see that? And did you know on the new Metallica album, The last song is the longest songs, longest they've ever written. I'm like, you know what, I listened to its eleven minutes long. It do feel like eleven minutes long, right, go on for ever? Man, it was like fucking awesome. I love it totally. And then like one of my favorite songs going way back was a Temple of Searings which went through that whole progression that's long, and like, wow, that's so you just gotta be a good musician and do it right. Yeah, the fucking wankers that don't know what they're doing. They can't do a long show song. You got. You gotta like kind of almost playing, almost make a film with your with your song people in taking highs and lows, keep them interested. You gonna have a fucking hour long song, man, that's right, interested and listen. That's the problem nowadays. It's because like even I've talked to bands and the record labels are having them like cut out parts of songwriting that I knew from a kid, Like now it's on cut one verse out, no intro, no bridge, none of that.
22 It's like what the fuck? Yeah, real meals hang on to your old CDs, man, because they're the original copies. I got my albums, I got my cassettes, I got all my CDs. The only thing I wish I still had that I got rid of all my eight tracks. I had a blizzard of oz on eight tracks. Right, that is proper crazy one, right, Yeah, mister Crowley would fade out in the middle of the song. It would change tracks and fade back, having the poor baby debts. It is brilliant love, right. Yeah. So tell everybody how they can reach out to you, guys and socials and know where by your merch all that good. We're on all the usual socials. We're on I hate to say TikTok. I'm not a lover of TikTok, but we do it. We do it TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, man, what else we are? Ye, there's stuff on YouTube and you'll find this.
18 You'll definitely find this. Yeah, And we always say to people, definitely reach out. We're not unapproachable. There are no egos at all in our bands. We love talking to people. And you'll last, by the way, because all the bands are break up, it's always because of ego. Yeah, there no egos here. No egos here at all. There we're very much about, obviously not in the physical sense, but sharing the love, you know, share the heavy metal love. Everyone get on board, everyone, horns up, heads down, pits, whatever you want, man, you know, just go with it. Yeah, and look after each other. It's just let's all be a family together, escape the bullshit in the world and enjoy the music. If if, if if whatever part of heavy metal isn't family, fuck it off. I mean it's brother who's it's sisterhoods. People outside us don't understand it. I've tried to explain to my brother, like metal heads, it is a brotherhood. It's a family, and we're not the scary people that we project to. People sometimes are like the scary bit Yeah, well it's funny, keeps you safe. Sometimes well it's funny you said that because I was talking about that, not even in an interview, just off the airway. A friend of mine, an artist, and he's like, yeah, let's keep them thinking we're scary so we can assholes out. You don't want to be too approachable to people that don't know. You don't want to be too approaching, No doubt, I'll still
50 get people across the street. I love it, honestly, I love Yeah, that's great. Well you guys freaking rock and uh. I love that you're here at Bloodstock and thanks for being on the Adventures Bloods to chat. Thanks man, thanks for tell I appreciate it. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man im W four CUI Radio.
