04 Hey you lunt, Yes, that's true. Wow, crazy you. Incarceration America's Rock, Metal and Tattoo Festival. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here with Arkham Theory Nice here at incarceration as this feel. This is amazing. We're so lucky to be here. Did you think you'd never be this happy to go to prison? Not at a hall? And so I was doing the whole time before coming here, like post on social media like oh man, I'm going to prison next week, and people are like, what happened?

47 I remember somebody was talking about the festival, like on our team to somebody. And they were like, wait, You're getting incarcerated. That happened to me. I did one thing that I said I'm going to incarcerat and they're like, why are you being incarcerated? It is fun to mess with people, though, isn't it like let them let their minds wander totally? So tell us a little bit about you guys as an artist as how you would describe your music. I don't mean genre because I hate boxing artists into those stupid labels exactly exactly, you know, That's all. It really is. I remember back in the day, it was like even.

30 Now, record labels are like, well, you have to pick a genre or we can't promote you. Why you're an artist, you should be able to be whatever you want to be. Yeah, and especially nowadays, like so many bands are like a fusion of a bunch of different subgenres of metal. It's really becoming just stupid. It's like you ask somebody what genre they play, and it's like a whole like monologue. I know. I do a funny thing at festivals. I used to be like, well, let's name your genre for your band. What would your genre? Because that's pretty ridiculous it is nowadays it's like such micro and subgenres that you know, like maybe a couple of bands fit into that specific genre.

12 So how would you describe your music, your live show all that for people that haven't checked it out yet. Yeah, I guess if I were to say, like describe some of our like inspirations, I would definitely put up there, like a cacious strain. I'd put boundaries up there. You guys want to add some. Yeah, I mean Alfo Wolf is definitely up there, which is sick because they played on our stage. After us and that was crazy. That's pretty cool. It was. It was really cool for us. Yeah, a lot of the metal core stuff, a lot of the modern stuff. Like to also add, we try to bring a more hardcore stage presence to the table and make it more aggressive. I like that because you can't play the kind of music you guys play and just sit up there and go.

59 Exactly. And there are bands that do that, and some of them we make fun of back here. It's like they're the most boring band live that it's more exciting listening to their album. But then there's other bands. Yeah, we want the live show is to be the most entertaining part. For sure. It should be. It's a live show, especially when you're playing heavy music. It should get you your adrenaline pumping, and like, if you're up there all excited, we're gonna be all excited exactly, And that's how you know that you're having fun anyway, Like, if you're not up there doing batshit like you're out down in the crowd.

41 You're not having fun in my opinion as an artist. So what's the coolest part about being here at incarceration for me? I have to say meeting all the people, like we've run into some of our heroes here and that's just really cool. Yeah right, I mean yeah, I think seeing all the sets, meeting a ton of cool people, meeting fans is really cool. Yeah, Like getting the chance to go out in the audience and people give a shit. Right Is it wild when you go to a festival like this and you're not even really sure if anybody's gonna know you, and then they're singing your lyrics back to you. It's crazy. We're small, so seeing that it's insane for us really really cool. So it's just a fucking bastard.

26 See I thought you were gonna say the hazy beer hug. Oh dude, Like I'm looking at them like that's the funniest name ever. Oh yeah, I love my Kraft beer. So getting like Kraft beer here has been a blast. Is that good? It's pretty good. Yeah, it's decent. It's like such a cool label too. Oh yeah, all the. Goose Island stuff is really interesting. I like a lot of the beer and a lot of the like Bear branding. It's just cool. Yeah, he's got the Bory Michlow Boultra. Oh yeah, yeah, is that the band beer? Then? Now and he's the outsider. Cheers. Oh, there we go, see even it's even.

11 Was it good? All right? It was amazing? So why did he go back to the ultra? I'm trying to pace myself. Yeah, there you go. That's the first day beginning. I'd also say the coolest part about being an INK for me is just like seeing the production behind, like the behind the scenes of everything. I'm learning a lot and like it's just the coolest thing to be here with all the bands, with all the production team. It's just amazing. And so have you played other festivals before this? Which ones we've played?

52 Well, all of us? I think I've played other festivals before. I do you compare this one to others? This is this? Like it this? It's epic because it's the Shawshank Prison too, right, Yeah, did you guys go tour the prison? Not yet, but I think we might be doing that tomorrow. We're doing once tonight and once tomorrow. I think we're doing the blood sorts tonight. H Yeah. Well, here's what I'm gonna tell you about that tour That the prison is actually haunted, so you won't know if it's the characters or somebody really haunting you. That's crazy, right, right, So maybe there'll be a bear.

39 Oh yeah, maybe the barre will get me. We'll see I know, right, So what's really crazy? I've been saying this in almost every interview because it just blows my mind. Waylon Reeves, who's a killer's confession? Who's playing ink? He did a video in one of the torture rooms because his prison has tours. Hello, he came out of the room, scratches all over his body. Couldn't be me, so would not catch me there? Yeah? Well, so enjoy that blood Prison tour, Thank you very much. And who are you guys excited to see?

19 Most? I think we can all answer Knocked Loose. We're massive fans of them. But like, there are a lot of bands that are on here that we want to see. We want to see kill Switch, we want to see Alfa Wol if we want to well, we saw Afol, if we saw DuRane. Who else do we want to see? The days I Prevail? Yeah, I like there's a lot of He was just in here too, Eric was literally just here. He's back there. Yeah, so we got the chance to meet him last year and he was super chill. Yeah, he's cool. They're so they're so sick. Yeah, totally, I love them. So you need to go like talk to him and say, hey, oh yeah, take us on tour. Hey, if I prevail ever wants to take us on tour, we would do it in a heartbeat.

00 There we're putting it out there, right, Yeah, So tell us how this all started all together? Here? Well, basically, we all go to school in Boston, Massachusetts. That's where me and this guy Owen. We linked up on Instagram and we just met through there like one of those like new student accounts, and we both liked medal. We both wanted to make a band, and when we set out to do that and here. We are, nice and how did you all four join together? Now? I went to a party one day my second semester. I met these two and it's just gone. We all sence they needed a new guitarist, and.

43 I was like, I play guitar. See that's why I love because like all the DWP festivals, I'm interviewing bands from Berkeley school music and stuff, and it seems like that's the place to meet your music soulmates. Yeah, I would say, like for sure, like my experience going to Berkeley, and like meeting all of these amazing people like. Definitely was worth it. In my opinion, I can't say that I would be here today without meeting these guys. So I'm super thankful for that and for the circumstance that we're in and it's just fucking amazing to be.

26 Honest, I think it's also a badass that you could go to a school like that and play a metal festival from your college experience, Like you wouldn't even think that. You think going to something like Berkeley School Music or anything like that, you would never think you're gonna be a metal band. But there's way more metal bands that come out of there than I can even think of at this point. Yeah, Yeah, it's really cool to see. Think more people need to start bands. In my opinion, I think the more people that start bands, the more musicians we're gonna see. In the pool. Yeah, And I think like. That's the biggest thing, is like connecting and creating and being in it.

11 With your own people, because I think that's also the common denominator. I think I think there's some kind of connection when you go to school. Together for music. Then if you just met out on the street for sure. There's some common foundation there. Yeah, So what else is exciting after Ink? Now? How are you going to top this? We're heading into the studio literally next week for our new song. Now look out for that. We just dropped a song last week called Garat and we're just getting ready for the future right now. I love it. I love it. And so how do people reach out to you on socials on the web and check out the new music and everything you have?

56 Yeah, you can check us out on all socials like Instagram, talk, YouTube, at ARCon theory. Nice. So I have a question too, Okay, what do your parents think when you go to a college of music? Me? Personally, my mother supported it. My father took a little bit of convincing, but there was a point where you really saw that, like this is my passion and this is my dream. That's I mean, ultimately, have a really great relationship with my parents and ultimately they want me to reach for the stars. I love it. That's always great to hear all of. Our parents are actually here today.

37 I love that. So are your biggest fans. They were up front and center and it was great to see and I want to thank them because I wouldn't be here without them and. Either, right, yeah, because my parents would never showed up. My dad was like, you better give up playing that guitar. You suck. But that's because he was into Frank Sinatran. Shit Ma Sad was great. I love Franks totally. But you didn't understand the noises that I was making. Yeah, and that's why you called it noise. So that's what's like, think's cool today because it's so wild. You go out in the crowd and there's all different generations there for metal and punk, Whereas when I was a teenager, there was nobody over twenty at the shows. It was just like, there's no way, like I take my kids and my grandkids to these shows, There's no way that would happened when I was a teenager.

34 I mean, it was really warming to see. We were the first band of the day, so we were setting up when doors opened, and the first thing we saw after doors was a father and son running up to the stage. Nice. It's really cool to see everyone here. I love that. You guys got a final words you want to share with the listeners. Check out Garat on Apple, Music, Spot, YouTube, Pandora, all major streaming services. Be on the lookout for more RCN theory. Yes, support your local scene. Shout out. Trans writes Nice, I love it.

15 Thanks for being here at INK and thanks for having us, for being on the Adventures of Pipe Main. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on w for CUI Radio.
