04 Hey, you love then too? Yes, that's true. W wow crazy you. Hello, this is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here. With Grayson from Archers. Nice. So I got lucky today. Do you want to know why. I got lucky? Because usually I'm stuck in this hole in here and I can't get out till later. But my first interview was later, So I snuck out to your set. Oh awesome? What do you think? Oh? You guys kicked ass? Oh yeah, man, thank you, thank you.
45 It was funny because we were watching orbit Culture and then I said to her, I'm like, okay, we gotta leave that. We're going to Archers. Oh that's so sick. Thanks right, thank you. And it was a good move. It's a good move. Awesome. How did it feel for you? Okay, you're competing with three bands, right or two other bands at the same exact time, and that ten you could barely walk into it. It's I mean, it's crazy. It It will probably set in when we get to the hotel tonight, just because when these festivals it's very fast paced. There's not a lot a time to sit and really think about a ton But I mean, I've been dreaming to playing this festival since I was a kid watching videos with my favorite bands play here. That's how I found out what Download was. Through interviews just like these, you know what I mean. So being here playing the fact that people came to see us super early on a Sunday.
35 Right crazy. Yeah, I'm just thankful, man. It's really really nuts, and we're extremely lucky that Download was our first UK show ever, so really first time. We have some following this, some club shows, some headliners, one of which sold out before we even landed here. Wow. So yeah, just on Cloud nine right now. Honestly, it's pretty crazy. So what other festivals have you played over here? We did anywhere We've done in the States. We've done Louder than Life twice review right on. Yeah, we got lucky, and we actually won a Battle of the Bands. A fan voted Battle of the Bands two years in a row, which has never been done and both years were crazy.
15 And then we came over here. We did Rock for People in Czech Republic, and then we did Greenfield in Switzerland a couple days ago. Now we've been able to check Download off the list and then we go back to the States. We have a headline tour in July where we'll be hitting Summerfest in Milwaukee and then Rockfest in Wisconsin. Nice. So Rockfest is a badass festival. Very excited for We got really lucky. We're playing the same days like bat Omens three days Grace became as Romans, so like as a fan, I mean, you can't ask for more than that. You know, no doubt. And this weekend, who would be the band you would want most go see? President? I am all in on the President hyphe I think that that band whoops, I don't know if I can say as whatever.
58 Ass and I am very excited to see them. I've already talked to my team that's here and I'm like, listen, I'll do press until I can't stand until that time slot comes around and there's nothing keeping me here. I'm very excited to see President. It's guy like yesterday for me, I'm like, no interview, I'm not scheduling any interviews during the sex pistols. Oh yeah, you know, because I wasn't. Oh, it was fucking awesome, So sick dude. He got he got down into the crowd and opened up the biggest pit you ever saw, and he got game like, no fuckless bigger. He's pushing people out. He're like pushing store pits. Man. I was thinking about that on stage when a pit opened up. I don't even remember what song, but a pit opened up. And it's easily the biggest marsbit I think I've ever seen. Right, because we're not the heaviest band in the world, you know what I mean. But Download came to have a good time, and they woke up early, and they had their breakfast and they.
51 Were here to throw down. It was fucking awesome. You know what's cool about that? You said you've been dreaming about Download your whole life, and sometimes those dreams, like when you actually do them, they're not as good as the fantasy. And it sounds to me like it's better than the fantasy. I Like I said earlier, you just gave me goosebumps with that. I really am on cloud nine, Like this is being in this ten and seeing people that I've been watching their interviews forever, you know what I mean. Like, it's just it's wild. And we were on you know, we're American band that's never been here. We were on the smallest stage one of the earliest time slots and you couldn't see the end of the crowd in there, right, you know what I mean? It was. It was nuts. That's why I come over here because I do all the wimmer festivals awesome and like a whole bunch of others in the States, but I come over here and I do this one. Yeah, I do Bloodstock. I'm going to Hellfest next week.
42 You gotta do that fast, heal fast, I've yeah. Oh my fucking me hot. The year I did was right after covid Ye okay, two weekends, seven days. The first weekend one hundred and four degrees. I was doing interview. They have a pool in VIP outside the rest area the press stent's black. It was so like hot. I did interviews in the pool. Unreal. So what about music? What do you want to tell people about music coming around the bend? Yeah? We actually just Friday, we just released our new EP. It's called Temporary High. We went and recorded it in Arizona with Matt Good who's done nice a million asking records and has worked with probably all of your favorite bands.
27 And it's cool. It's our first label, really ease. It's our first time that we've gotten consistent ply on Octane and now it's finally out. We've been working on it for just under a year straight. So the fact that it's out as like such a deep breath and people are loving it and people are connecting with the songs, and you know, I've already been getting text from my managers about other producers that are knocking at the door wanting to get with us. Anytime that I thought that I would have at home this year, I will not be home. But see now download proves the name of that album because you're on the temporary high now, yes, and you're living the album. Right now, crazy right, Yeah, So. What was that one moment in life that you were like, this is all I want to do.
09 It's really funny because I get asked that pretty often, and I don't know, just because this has been the goal for as long as I can remember. My dad was a musician, so my I mean, my earliest memories as a human are me staring at Kiss album covers. Like music has just always been it. There's never been a backup plan, you know. Going through schools, I was like, oh, well you can do the band thing, but you should have a backup plan. I was like, fuck that, Like, it's all right. I believe that I'm also a motivational speaker and the only way to succeed is have nothing to fall. Was this or it's Flippenberger somewhere washing dishes, you know what I mean? Like that, there was really I was a horse with blinders on for a long time, and I guess some of the moments where I was like this is it or just shows? I went to my first show ever. I'm a massive Kiss fan, so there's a lot of Kiss in my history.
56 Way do you hear what I have to say? Yeah? Go ahead, But. We my dad took me when I was in fourth grade. He took me and all my siblings to see Kiss for the first time. Nice. And then my favorite band of all time is blackfail Brides, and I saw them for the first time. I was twelve years old in Columbus, Ohio at Rock on the Range which is now Sonic Temple, YEP, and I saw Blackveil for the first time. I was and that was also my first festival, so I was like, man, this is what is cooler than this? You know what I mean? There's not a job in the world that would be as cool as this. And ever since then, man, it's just been finding new bands, learning everything I can about them. You know what their members' names are, who they work with, you know who's making their artwork, all that stuff. Massive nerd and yeah, it's just that is It's just been the plan, you know what I mean.
37 I was a massive Kiss fanatics and first grade. Yeah, so check this out. I must have been in first grade and I went with my brother's girlfriend to Seaside Heights at the Jersey Shore and played one into carneie games where you could win an album. Uh huh. This is the first album I have owned myself in my life, besides the ones I stole from my brothers and I won it and they had alan picked what now? But you know why I looked at this album up there, I'm like, that's fucking cool. It was the original Kiss album, yeah, when it first came out. Yeah, so that was my first album ever and I won it at the board walk.
21 Well it's really cool is I went to New York City for their last show ever at the Garden. Yeah, and we got there a day before and I mean New York was absolutely swarmed with Kiss fans. I mean, you couldn't walk down a single street without seeing a Kiss shirt. And if people saw a kisshirt on you, they were immediately coming up to you talking about stories. And there was a line I was standing in for something and you know, listening to people talk behind me where it was like, oh yeah, I was just flipping through records at a record store and thought this one looked cool and it changed my life. Or you know, the first time I saw Kiss was on the Hot and the Shade tour at Red Rocks, Like just shit like that were obviously I wasn't around for any of that, you know, right, But it's really cool how whether you were a of that band for fifty years or five years, everybody had stories and everybody had something that was super important to them. And it's just a band fucking rules, man, there's not It's gonna be a long time before we see a band fill those shoes, you know.
11 Right, no doubt. And like I remember being in fifth grade and I bought the Love Gun album, yeah, and it had a love Gun in it was those popas which were popular that and like you're bringing school, I remember get in trouble with the teacher. I would always get in trouble. I was really bad about drawing kiss faces on my homework. I love it. I got, I got and quite a lot of trouble because it'd be Grayson, you gotta stop, and I would just do it again and be like, all right, well, I clearly is not good. I started drumming because of Peter Chris. That's so sick, you know. And then I also loved Dace Freely, like, yeah, Gray's guitars ever, And I was Gene Simmons for Halloween. Yeah, I was Ace Fairly for Halloween one year. It's nice. Yeah, I love it. What else would you like to tell the listeners that we haven't covered yet?
55 Man, that we haven't just if you see us coming to a city, coming to a show, like I said, we've we're wrapping up Europe in a couple of days, and then we start the temporary high tour in the States. It'll be US Rivals of Virtue and Dead Eyes Nice. So you know, it's about three weeks, our longest set we've ever done in the States. We just finalized it the other day and it kicks ass. I'm super stoked for that. We've got some more stuff in the works for the end of this year and then top of next year. We're going out with nothing more catch your breath and dooby for almost two months straight, so we're busy. It's a lot of job security, though I can't complain. I love it and you should have it because you guys are badass nay kicked ass. Here a download.
35 Thank you, thank you and thanks for being on the adventure to pipe Man. Absolutely, thank you for having me. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man on w for CUI Radio.
