04 Hey, you love then too, Yes, that's true. See why were you you? This is the Pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here. With Madison Ryan Ward nice. Here at Bourbon and Beyond. Like, how does that feel? Oh? It was amazing. We just came off stage not too long ago. It was so beautiful. The crowd was alive and the sun is out. It's a beautiful day. We're happy to be here to.
44 Take and blow your mind too. You're playing earlier in the day, on the last day at the festival, on a Sunday where everybody was up late last night and they were just out there in droves. Does that blow your mind? It does? And I think it's special too. I mean I love Sunday so and gor it's a beautiful day to be singing some music. Absolutely, And you know what, basically everything from the Heavens was a line for you because did you see what happened last night here? I did not show you a picture, okay, because that's we ran late today. As you said, the weather, yeah probably bumped you as well. Yeah, yeah, that's okay.
24 But this is what happened at two am. That's that ferris wheel. No way, Yeah, is that wild or what that is? Wild? Did it get did it? What happened? Just struck it? And that was apparently it happens all the time. Like it's either time to take the first wheel down because that's here all the time, or I put up a lightning rod or something, so it's not going towards the ferris wheel. I'm surprised it doesn't knock it down. Can you imagine if we came here this morning it was knocked down rolling across to the stages. Were people still doing rides at that time when that happened? Two am, oh oh oh down? Thanks? Yeah, but we were in code right anyway, so nobody would be allowed. Okay, it's the lightning. It's somewhere close by.
08 I think it's twenty miles. Okay, you're out of here. Evacuation time. Luckily it was after the festival was over. I was already evacuated. Yeah. That's good, good, good good. So describe to our listeners what you're all about, like your you do faith based music, Yeah, and I want to go through like, first of all, what got you passionate to there? But also like you are going to professionally plea be a volleyball player? And how did you pivot to this? Yeah, whenever I was playing volleyball in college was the time that people discovered that I could sing, and it became more of a serious opportunity in doors that were open to me within the music industry once people found that out. So I actually made that decision at the end of my volleyball career in college to pursue music because of all the opportunities that were coming to me.
05 So and as far as what I what did you say? What do I representing? Faith based? What led you to that? Besides probably your whole life? But yeah, I actually when I first started out, I was doing just soul and R and B music, just pop, soul, R and B. There weren't really faith elements involved necessarily, or at least they weren't at the forefront. It was just something that was internal for me because of how I was brought up. Sure, I was brought up in a Christian home, but even throughout my upbringing, I drifted away, I think, as people do. Yeah, and whenever I started off on my music career, that wasn't front of mind. It wasn't until I had some experience doing only pop, soul and R and B that I was challenged with questions about where I really stood in my faith. And when I lived in Los Angeles and was signed to a major record label, that those questions came up to the surface and it was just it became pretty clear I needed to decide what I believed in and.
03 What I did, especially in Los Angeles. Yeah, especially there, you know, and I lived alone, and there was just a lot of attention on me when I first started out, so through a myria out of different experiences, it landed me wanting to leave, not do music anymore and go back home to Oklahoma, where I'm from. And then I started fresh and God really just showed me what it could be if I did put him first. And then sonically my music started to take a shift from that place. But it came from a natural thing. It wasn't all Yeah, I didn't just wake up and say, okay, this is what I'm doing now. It all just kind of naturally. It is truly faith based right there. Yeah, it's not like you've tried for it.
44 Sometimes things just happen, Yeah, and. You're led in the right direction, right, you know, And that's exactly what happened. Yeah, and I think we need people like you more than ever right now in this world because the faith level. Is at a low. In my opinion, I would disagree with you there, actually, Oh tell me, I would disagree with you. I want to hear your side. It does say, I just want to make sure you don't not that. Yeah, yeah, no, well, I mean I think maybe what people see for the most part of what's on media and what people assume is that the church and Christians on this earth are like few and far between. It's just not true. Oh. I definitely don't think that, you know, or just.
26 Faith like faith based people and especially people in the arts. I think that's getting highlighted more and more. Honestly, that's my own experience. I've discovered that my own self. See. That's why I think we all need conversation so we could hear stuff like that. Yes, especially you're talking about the media, like how do you know where those sources are coming from? I think like it should be grassroots. You just talk to the people, that's right. Yeah, And I think with people like you, we can get to the place we want to be and where and where we just all love each other and are living the right life? Best way to put it, what do you think?
08 Yeah, I mean I think that's I think that with that conversation, it kind of leads to a much deeper conversation of what is the the definition of what did you say? The right right life? Yeah, because if we're putting that up against if we're getting into the weeds of what is that for a Christian they have a certain standard that they're living upon, which is following Jesus and what Jesus said and what the Word of God says. No, and that is like divisive and it does separate from the I think the masses, not as a better than thing, but just a realization that some things don't fly because of upholding that level of trying to walk with righteousness, which goes against a lot of I guess what's considered just all right and good.
56 I'd say it's good to hear a story like yours, because sometimes. People do lose faith. Yeah, And maybe they're losing faith because maybe they're not listening in their head so or listening to spirit or whatever. And then you take somebody like you that God, I have to hustle on the bustle, Yeah, quiet all the noise. Yeah, so that you could hear what your path was. Do you think that's true. One hundred percent. Yeah. That was actually probably the most pivotal time for me was getting away from all the noise and just seeking out God's word from myself and not I mean not tuning into pastors, not getting listening to a bunch of podcasts, really just praying with just the broken heart that I had at the time, and just asking God to reveal himself through his scriptures. And that's really what was the turning point for me.
53 I think we all need like a personal relationship with God where we do listen. Like if you sit and listen, yeah, block out the noise, you'll hear it. Yeah, that's my opinion. That's good, and then you could do what you love like you're doing, but also serve the Lord at the same time. Yeah, it can be refined and it can be I feel like a lot of what I do now, it feels like a lot of it is redeemed because I didn't when I started it out without having my anchor down in the truth of what I believed. Just come hell or high water, this is what I believe when if you're offended by it, it's kind of like, well, you're gonna have to take that up with God. I'm not really answering to you. So I think just having that confidence and that courage, it comes with a lot, It comes with whatever, it's gonna come with whatever. But I do feel a sense of freedom in that.
40 Yeah now, And I think being a music artist's very similar in that respect too. It's like, yeah, as soon as you stop listening to all the noise and just create the music you want to create, yeah, you'll get your people. That's good. Yeah. Well I found that too. People connected with things that I was sharing that we're kind of simple that I was walking through. And the beautiful thing about your lyrics to your music is people can relate to it, even. If it's not the same thing you're meaning. They can put their own meaning to it. But I think it helps her soul, to be honest, because music, to me, helps the soul. Right. You have to have the right message too, so that makes it even a bonus, which is what you're doing.
25 You're putting the right message out there, a positive message that can heal people, and they can look to you as somebody that, hey, look at what she did, I can. Too, dun. That's really encouraging to hear that. That's I'm honored to be in that. Like, I just think it's a gift to get to do that right and just keep it real and let just be a vessel really if I can. And I think that's what God really did, was like, yes, God was helping you, but God was helping you so you could help everybody else with your talent and your faith and everything else. Yeah, so how do people reach out to you on socials on the web. Check out all your music tour day, It's all that fun stuff.
16 Yeah. Okay, So I am currently on tour right now. I'm on my third tour that I've ever done. Wow, it's called the Standing Tall Tour. I'm working on my bet Yeah. Thanks. I'm working on my third album right now, independent. It's under my label Zelda House Records. Zelda means happy and Blessed, so it's Happy and Blessed Records. I love it. Yeah, And they can find me on Instagram is really the main one. Instagram and Facebook just at Madison Ryan Ward. Ryan has two ends but still sounds like the boy and Yeah, I think YouTube as well. I'm not on there as much, but I do share things on YouTube too. Is there anything else you want to share that we haven't covered yet that the listeners need to hear from you.
01 Sure? I think I would just encourage anybody listening to be reminded that no matter what height you stand at physically, you can always stand tall, and you can stand tall in Christ especially, and you don't have to have any fear. We have d who loves us and knows us and sees us and can equip us to stand with courage and face life day after day. There you go, that's a great message to get the listeners for sure. And just to look on your face says it all that it's been done for you. It has. I'm really thankful. Well, we're thankful you're here at Bourban Beyond. And thanks for being on the Adventures of pate Man.
45 Thank you, Dean, I appreciate you. You got it. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man on w for CUI Radio.
