0:04 Hi, you have done to censure. Wow for you young. It's time to get. The team taking to Bros. And you can get This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with what is nice? So how interesting? All these years I've been doing Welcome to Rockville, and this is my first time interviewing a NASCAR driver at one of the most famous race raceways in the whole world.

0:52 Is definitely one of the most famous, if not I mean definitely one of the most famous race tracks in the wards. You know, when you think about race, you think about Daytona super Speedway, and this. Is where we are right now. You know, I got an opportunity to come here to uh to rock Bille for the very first time last year, and I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it because I've been racing here in Daytona already for for several years and and every time that we raise in the Daytona five hundred, we have over one hundred thousand people here and it's unbelievable, right and and and to me, that's that's what Daytona saw about.

1:32 And when I came here to Rockville. I could not believe the amount of energy and the amount of people that we're here for an event that wasn't NASCAR, that wasn't racing. I couldn't believe it, right, And I. Was super proud of of everyone here in Daytona, rock Bille and all the bands that they put this event together, and the fans as well, because the fans are super passionate. Absolutely, just like they are for NASCAR. Like there's nothing like a NASCAR fan. Listen, it's a different kind of crowd, right. Every every sport, every every van, every every event has his own crowd. And I'm not gonna lie to you.

2:14 I believe that the racing fans, the NASCAR fans, are the best fans in the world. But but. What I have seen here in Rugbylle last year and this year, it's believable. I mean the fans are unbelievable. I mean they're crazy that good way, you know, passionate, and I love to see it, you know, because they love being here. It doesn't matter if he's had if it's cold, if they have a shirt or not on. They're just having a great time. See. I love the fact that somebody outside of the metal and punk community would say that because a lot of times that's not the case. But you've experienced they haven't experienced it. You experienced what kind of fans we are?

2:55 Yeah, and listen, I love music. There is a couple of bands. Here that I know. But but but but metal rock is not it's not my heat right like I like, I I respected, I liked it, but it's not my my. My number one go right. So coming here and and learning about about all the different bands and learning about the fans and learning about the culture is some maliople. I really really liked it, uh and and respected a lot. So you can go to the Ladrones Ladron is Yeah. Yeah, actually I were just talking about that with with an old friend about Yeah, latn is how they've been they've been doing great things.

3:38 Yeah, yeah totally. And Jose from Serious Exam he loves them. That's how I know about him because. Yeah, yeah, Jose is actually the one that told me about it. Say there you go, and uh, so I'm gonna ask you trivia question that you should one hundred percent answer correctly. Most music artists don't know the answer. You ready ready, the multicolors on the seat on the seats in the grandstands. Why oh, the multi colors is, uh, is to blend people, so blind people. I mean when we have the ton five hundred, this place is full pack. Well sometimes when you have the roll ext twenty four hours, you're not gonna be a full pack for the entire time.

4:23 So the colors are is to to blend the people. And do you find as a driver because I know it's like kind of like on TV makes like the stands are full. But I was talking to my earlier and they were saying it's for the drivers too, so it looks full to them too. Is that true? Oh? Of course, you know it's for everyone. You know. We listen, when you go to a basketball game, you put twenty thousand people in there and in that place is packed. Yeah. Right, here's twenty thousand people and this place is empty. Yeah, so you have to have one hundred thousand people here for this place to look wow, like twenty thousand people in basketball, baseball or something like that. So so you just give you a perspective, right, Like how the amount, I mean, it's a racetrack.

5:13 It's huge. You know, we can put a whole community, neighborhood inside of this thing, right, so it's huge. So so yeah, I mean it's the energy of the people, the fans is one of the most important parts of racing. Absolutely. Now the question is Okay, that wall now that wall in person, as you know, but I didn't know the first time I came to this venue. Oh my god, it's nothing like it looks on TV. So I joke around, tell me what you'd think it is. I joke around with Christine up there that runs the media, and I'm like, I have my skateboard in the back of my jeep, and well, I lose my media credential if I take that and try to ride the wall.

5:58 Have you have you walked the race track? I've golf cart driven and walked and wa, it's scary in the in the corners. Uh huh, yeah, it's very impressive. Like people don't realize how how oh how deep it is. I mean you can barely walk it. Oh, I'm joking about the skateboard because I'm looking at him like, no, I'll break every bone in my body. Everything, everything that you got, You're gonna lose it. So yeah, no, it's it's tough. You know, when when we're going very fast here two hundred miles per hours. It feels great. When we're under caution at forty five fifty to fifty five miles per hour, we feel like we're rolling over almost you know. See I heard in order to hit that wall, you gotta be going like eighty miles per hour. So it's that yeah, Yeah, it is accurate.

6:42 Yeah, to be able to feel good because if now you're gonna be feeling feeling like you're. Falling to the left, you know, I could I could see that. Yeah, Like more power to you, because I don't know. I look at that wall. I'm like, as crazy as I am, I'm not driving that crass. You know. It's one of those that differently you get used to it. I was just talking to Frank the pressing of the racetrack, and sometimes we take it for granted because we do this all the time, right, we race often, and uh. And for me it's normal. You know, when you were talking about the wall, I thought you were actually talking about the wall, not the racetrack. But the racetrack actually looks like a wall, so now I know what you're talking about. But but we take it for granted because we race on it. All the time, so it's impressive. It's very impressive to see it.

7:26 What's kind of like me, like anytime the mic turns on, I just like, I don't even think about it. It's like second nature. But there's other people that be like, oh, I wouldn't do what you do. I'd be so scared and may the mic turns on. I have a switch in my brain that kind of changes. Yeah, I get I get a little scared when the mic is on. See, I just I get a little scared while I'm going that wall. This is good. This is a lot of fun. I'm sure it is like what a life? The race cars for a living, you know, right? Start? How did that start? It's a long sorry, but I was born and raised in Mexico and I started racing cocurse. I don't come from my raising family or anything like that, so I never even thought I was gonna become pro.

8:13 But you know, just putting one food in front of the other. I became pro in Mexico when I was very young, and then I decided to to try to come to the United States. I had to. Learn English because I didn't speak English at the time, and learn the culture. I ended up moving here when I was nineteen, and I went through the whole process to try and to to follow the NASCAR steps, and eventually I made it to a top. Nice and I have to give goodose to you too, because I know it's while we've been talking, like you are so good at rolling your rs, which I, as a gring go I can't do. Can you say, Perrol, You'll hear how I say it. I can't do it.

8:59 Try Perrol, No, Pedro, I can't do the rowing. I tried. I tried to do it, and I just can't do it. Yeah, it's okay. There is a lot of wars in English. I still can't say after ten years, So that's fine, exactly. There you go. So what's your favorite track in the world to drive on? Well, I can. Only talk about the ones I have race on, but I mean they turned it definitely one of them. Indianapolis, Charlotte, Bristol. We have so many amazing races here in the United States that it is very hard to only pick one. Is that why you came here to race? Is it like not a big thing in Mexico or the tracks not a big thing.

9:40 It's just different, you know, the culture of racing here in the United States is just most bigger so and it's very strong. So you know, when I made it to to you know, it would. Be like like playing soccer, right like like if you play soccer here in the US or in Mexico, you're very good, right like in the in the in the in the pro level. But if you're extremely good, where did you go? You go to Europe? You go to Europe. So the same thing with NASCAR. So I was I was very good in Mexico and they and then I thought, you know what, I think, I'm good enough to go with a big boy. So I came out here nice. And so what is your family? Where did your family think back then when you decided you were going to come to the United States to raise.

10:29 It was tough, especially because my mom, you know, she came from a very old school family, very humble family. So so leaving my family, country and friends, it was tough, especially because I didn't have money or I didn't have a place to live. I mean at first I couldn't even I couldn't speak English, but I couldn't even run an apartment because. Because I didn't have so such security. Yeah, so it was tough. You know, it was tough, and my mom and I we will struggle quite a bit, but but you know it was ended up paying off. So that's good. I love it. Well, you're here, so that's what's really good. One last thing, what is your favorite part about being here at Welcome to Rockville?

11:11 You know, my favorite part is too, is to see the racetrack that I love so much in a different phase. You know, because right now, I mean ninety percent of these fans they don't maybe maybe they don't even care about racing. You know, it's very cool to be here way more relaxed and see the racetrack put a hell of an event in something beside racing. I love it. I think next year we should have the race and the festival at the same take. Sure that we can do that. Let's do it. Well. Thanks a lot for being here, and man for seeing being such a I'll just say it straight out badass racer, and thanks for being on the Adventures pipe man.

11:53 Thank you MANE have a good one. Enjoy the event. Hello, I mean goes. I'm Denn Suardi is a Naska driver and you're listening to the my min w fo CY radio Thank you for listening to the adventures of Patement on w for c u I Radio.
