04 Hi, you havento censure. Wow for you young monss like to play with most. Like to playlist shoppers. But there's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four C Y Radio. And I'm here with Hollywood Undead. Yeah, the most fun band that all. Welcome to Rockville. Really, I think we need to have another rivalry between you guys in Parkway Drive here at the festival.
52 Those guys are no fun dud. They're all pissed off from down under. Oh my god. But you yeah, you guys like you bring it every time when you do any show. It's like you have so much energy. Well I really want to know is how do you have so much energy in this freakin' he Uh? This is not as hot today, right, wasn't yesterday like oh, yesterday's saying it was like record breaking or something. Well, yeah, it's brutal, brutal. Well, it's a good thing Florida has good. Uh everyone on the radio, right, Yeah, we're on the radio. Vitamin you could we take our vitamins? There you go, there you go or something like that, right exactly, Yeah, Vitamin C. So what you guys got going on?
33 New? Now? Since last time we talked that we won't talk about. We got new music coming out. We just did a song with Jaris Johnson called All My Friends Nice, and then we have another new track coming out here in the next few weeks. So we're just writing, recording, touring. How'd you hook up with Jars? He produced? He produced one of our songs called Hollywood Forever. He produced and co wrote that along with the his producer Soco. So we met him that way and we just like vibed with him. So we've been working with him a lot. Actually, he's a very talented producer. So he's a cool dude with cool attitude. Yeah, for sure. Like I think it's refreshing to rock yep. You know, to have this new like the same thing is he's doing something no one's doing, and some people will find that off putting, but like I always like seeing new things happening, people testing different boundaries, and it's hard for people to see that at first, but I mean it's better than twenty of the same bands doing the same thing over and over, you know. So it's it's cool with me. And he's a great songwriter, great.
32 Dude exactly, And it is true what you're saying like, as somebody that's been into music for a long time, like if I'm listening to the same shit coming out now that came out in the eighties, mm hmm, I'm not interested. I already have the eighties. That's why people think it's special because it was a moment. People don't realize. People say that a why do you write songs like this song that you wrote, It's like we already did in that song would lose any particularity if you did the same thing. So it's like, you know, people need to push it and one day people look back on the stuff today and though that was special because people are doing something else exactly. And I think as an artist too, you want to grow and expand and experiment. I always say this, you don't want to stay a garage band, and sometimes you're early fans they want you to stay a garage band.
16 But why you want to stay a beginner? Yeah, yeah, you're gonna get better, and I don't know, there's. No one between, there's no making everyone happy. I'll use Lincoln Park as a reference. People hated it when they change, but like, you have to change if you stay the same person or band forever. Like you're like doing a disservice to yourself. You know, He'll be like, why are you writing the same record over and over again? So it's like, well, well you got to pick one, dude, exactly. And you know, it's funny because I heard Ali in interview and of course they're headlining here Welcome to Rockville, and when they were like, ask him about you know, all the hate that ain't up changing the sound to bring me arise, and he's like, why do I write the same song and the same album over and over again?
00 Yeah? Yeah, it gets boring, right. I try to write songs to make everyone happy. To you want to like stick true to yourself and write shit that you want to listen to. We've been talking about that a lot today because, like, you know, Rick Rubin tells that the bands, you know, it's like right, and I think if you write for yourself, you're going to grant no pun intended, You're going to gather your tribe, right. You know, if you don't like your own music, no one else is going to write, you know, and you have to play it for the next two years. Wouldn't you like to have like make it fine? You know, people know when you don't when you're bored up there, and you know, if you're writing stuff you don't even like your saying, it's just trouble. And if you're a true artist, you know you can't fake it like you think. Some may think they can, but you can't. Like you said, if I'm out there in the crowd, I can tell if you're dialing it in.
49 You guys never fucking dial it in, okay, Like I will catch your show every freaking time, because it's always a different vibe for me because you guys are just up there having. The time of your way. We're not faking it, that's for damn sure. We really are like legitimately having a blast up there. It's fun as hell and you are very. Lucky to do this. You know, we got a plan in front of thousands of people. It's like, how is that not a good time? Like that's the that's what we've dreamed about from when we were little kids. It'd be completely ungrateful to act like this is not good. It is a good time. What else do you want? And I always say too, like if you don't like the and doing that stuff, this is the wrong industry because most of the rest of the part sucks.
32 Yeah, exactly. It's all boring as hell. Yeah, you know, I even talk about with press, like sometimes I hear some other air viewers. I'm like, man, if I was the artist, i'd be slit my throat right now. Call it into like they're just asking you a questions and I get it. Oh, let me have my script here. Like a million times too, guys are gay, and it's like, yes, we are. The allegations are true, sir. It's always the same question, dude, Yeah, yes, oh yes, I love it. Uh. I don't know if I ever told you the story about August Burns Red and somebody asking them about their how they got their band name. Okay, so I used to say a lot of times before I got the no bands. The first time I interview him, I'm like, I don't ask stupid questions like how you got your band name?
21 And I did that with them the first time and they're like. Well, you're lucky, because we fuck with every press person that ever asked us that question. We make up a different story every time he goes see that girl next to you, she asked us, and we do it with a straight face. So we basically said, well, you see, my sister she got this dog. She named it August. We're partying out in the street. We decide while we were all high, it would be funny to light August on fire and watch August run down the road. Ergo August burn's red. Yeah, and they're like, you should have seen the look of horror out. Yeah. It's gonna be like a chlamydia story or something.
02 Okay, Well, since we're on chlamythia, I have a trivia question for you. Okay, See, this is why I like to do it this way, because you never know where come up. Do you know that what animal on the face of earth related to Parkway drive? Ninety percent of them have chlamythia? Kangaroo close, koala? That's it. Yes, so we had first track. We got it. We were out there. Yeah, you fucked a koala, That's how you got it. I thought it was heavy petting zoo. Well did Winston tell you you weren't supposed to do that? He told me, fuck that, Qualaday, that was perfect. Yeah, like you should get up on stage today and just do that.
46 Tell my story. Yeah, oh my god, See this even makes it fun for me. We're talking about like, fuck, what's fun for you? If I was doing those boring with my script, I would be bored the fucking right. I do like forty to fifty interviews every festival. I'd want to kill myself by the second day, for sure. You know. I like to hear the stories, have fun, laugh, and like. The way to do it. You know, everybody's already heard all the shit like. Exactly you know, Yeah, why I ask the same ship and you guys, you gotta go like thirty interviews answer the same question. Mm hmm. I would. I would fuck with people too.
26 It's always the same stuff. But once in a while you're running to someone who's actually curious about people. That's what I would suggest. Just ask out the person, the being what I do with it, and you'll get a lot more interesting stuff. You know, I want to find out like that's why I do. I want to find out what your passions are outside of music being gay? For him, Well here for the clap. Yeah you didn't find one yet. No, still haven't found We've been looking in ten years with the clap. Oh well it hurts now you just gotta find other people with the clap Like okay, so wait, to. Bey as I live in a Koala compound. There there you go. Well, see what's great about that is? Is I have this thing that I play at my show every few years. It was off the Onion and it's so serious. But it's like a new online dating site for people with open sores. And you gotta look it up bad because it's so serious, Like you think it's a real commercial.
24 Right, The Onion used to write the best stuff. I know. It's it's so cool, So right, what's your favorite Onion story? Fucking join, dude, I got that barbecuing though it's not from the Clap. I thought maybe like it was like leprosy or something. Dude, I was on the flight. I didn't know I had it. I was like, oh shit, good, I have AIDS or cancer. I started freaking out. I had to like rack my brain, like how did I get this thing? And then I racked my brain. I was barbecuing, drunk as shit, and I was emptying the ashes in my arm, like, oh, explains it all? Yeah, fucking burnt myself on other grill? Is that the stupidest thing you done? Drunk? I doubt no. I want to hear what the stupidness that you've done. Drunks, Holy shit, all of you.
06 Too many. We don't do much smart shit when we're drunk. I don't think, dude, I was. Is there just too many stupid stories. It's all stupid. Like I mean, dude, I've been like almost divorced and you know, over Steward it's like it gets real crazy, you know what I mean, to the point where people don't want to talk to you. It's not like it's not like a oh I tripped right, so oh man, I spend all our money. I can't pay our bill, you know what I mean. It gets wild. Yeah. See, I do stupid stuff sober, okay, Like I surf, I skateboard, I do all this crazy shit. I always get hurt doing stupid shit. Like I look at my pinky. That's from going to play hockey, but not from hockey. It was from grabbing my skates out of a car. Oh my god, okay, hockey. I didn't get hurt at or or like just recently right now, I have bruised ribs, a bruised elbow and fucked up wrist. Why because there was an empty spot on the wall in my studio and I had a really cool picture, like an album or something I wanted to put up there. So I get up on this rolling chair to put it up there, and I'm trying to push in and I pushed back and then I'm flying on the chair and I knew I was done. Like I'm like, oh fuck, I'm gonna eat shit. Yeah, And I had to avoid the conference table and the studio table and my desk and the bookshelf, and I'm like maneuvering and then just went and then I just let go, like I flew off a surfboard,
37 but unfortunately I didn't land in water. I landed on hardwood floors. Oh my god, but here I am. So now I need to get drunk, right, So it works both ways. You know, it's either you do stupid stuff because you're drunk, or you drink because you do stupid stuff. Exactly one time we were in Japan, I fell off the stage and all busted my knee, like ruptured in my knee, and I had to go to the hospital in Japan, and all they had for pain killers were like suppositories, and so they gave me a huge pack of them. And we're flying back from Japan. Everybody in the band was going to the bathroom and shoving them in their butts and stuff, and we got high at that. In Tokyo on the street, like found a little corner.
17 It's because it was like really strong vicing in so you had to. Do it up here. They love anal over. There, Yeah, said, is that you today? It's from this suppository. It didn't work. Though, it didn't work. Oh, we just started doing it to each other. It's easier if the other person does it. Yeah, that's true. It's kind of hard to stick something up your own ass. You're playing bathroom too, it's all tiny, you know. Yeah, well it's you're in the new two thousand and six mile High club. Yeah yeah, dude, expositories in the bathroom bro. Right, totally, that's the new thing. But people asked me about bringing them backstage, and from now on, I'm just gonna tell them, like, well, let me tell you what goes on backstage. We just hang out and stick suppositories up each up those asses and just look at the look on.
03 Their You wouldn't be lying in this case, that's right. A final things you want to say to the listeners before I let you go for the support oh anytime you. Yeah, thank you for having me, and thank. You for giving us such great music and great shows and kicking Parkway and drives as. That's right, and we'll do it again with Chlamydia. Time with with Winston tonight. On stage lastor and give him the clap right after our set. I think you should get up on stage on your set and say on ship Rock. He gave me the clap. Yeah, they look like they like to fight on the beach and stuff, you know, like those Australians.
43 You should have fought the other night. Did you know about Alex Yeah? Oh my god, I couldn't believe. He offered, Yeah, yeah, they thought about doing it. Asked, oh really yeah. I was like, hell, dude, you see their faces after it's like mashed potatoes. Well, I'm thinking you my face is my Why do you perform after that? Like? I know, he's just gar He's the coolestudent the world. That's the funniest. Oh yeah, super nice, super chill, super friendly, just likes to you know, the challenge. I guess I felt bad because he was like Rocky every time he got knocked down and got up real quick. But then that one rocked him I saw it was struggling to get up, and then he's like, you have. A lot of nuts to do that stuff. So winter lose, Yeah, Winter lose. That guy's a champion.
24 I did my job. I did take a picture with the girl that won her fight, and I told her, because I'm a publicity orror, I'm like for the picture, punch me in the face. And she literally fucking sucked me in the eye. And she didn't mean to. She was like, oh, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, and I was laughing. Actually, so you like pain. You was throwing yourself off chairs getting punched. Well, listen, when women punch you, it's kind of a turn on sometimes. There you go. I got a semi right now, just see, there you go. I think we should end there because it's only going downhill for you know what comes next, right exactly. Well, thanks you guys for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man as always, and oh my god, you I did not schedule any interviews for because I never can miss your set.
13 That's awesome. Thank you, love you Ellie. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Patemn. I'm w for c u I Radio.
