04 Hey, you're listening to The Adventure of. Pumlin on W4CY. For you. This is Pipe Man here on the Avengers Pipe Man W4CY radio, and I'm here with. Mr. Matt from Ashes to New. How you doing? I'm doing great. I don't go by Mr. Matt, though. Let's go by Matt B. Yeah, there you go. What's with the Mr. Matt shit? I don't know, man. You caught me off guard. I thought you were introducing me. Yeah, well, like. You were like, I'm here with, and I'm like, oh! Who am I? Me, I'm here with you. What do you mean? It's the heat, man. It's the heat. Like. Got you worn down already. Listen... Just getting the day started, baby. But, listen.

46 How come your people didn't tell somebody to cool it down. For your set? Listen, we sent the prayers out. They just weren't received, I guess. You weren't very good this year, were you? So, it's been a while since we talked. What's going on nowadays? A bunch of amazing things, man. Just a lot of awesome stuff. Growth, new record. Just got our first number one. Looks like we're going to get our second number one. Wow. A couple gold singles in between, man. Life's been good. Does it blow your mind that, like, all this work you've been doing is, like, you're finally getting the payoff that, like, you don't really see in front of you, and then it happens. You're like, holy shit.

27 Honestly, man, I don't know. Everything's just been such a grind and work in progress, and I think I just take it as it comes. I think I knew that we would be at this spot where we're at. I thought maybe it would have been a little sooner. I'm grateful to be there now, and I just know that we're just getting started with that growth. I really feel and believe that we'll be headlining these festivals soon. You know, in a very short period of time. As you should be. Hell yeah. Thank you, man. Thank you. As you definitely should be because you kick ass. I appreciate that, man. And I love that you're here at Louder Than Life, man, because we need a band like you to make it louder than life. That's right. That's right, man. There's a lot of great bands here, though, man, and I think that everybody that is playing today and everybody that's in the spot that they're in, they deserve to be there. You know, it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and skill to get to this point, you know, so.

21 To me, it's no competition to anyone around me. I want everyone to win. You know what I mean? And I'm glad that there's a lot of winners out here today, dude. See, that's the way it should be, man. Artists should support artists. We're all together. You should help each other. And that's how you all rise to the occasion. Because we need you guys more than ever with all the bullshit in the world. Because music's the best therapy there is. Yeah, for sure. I mean, you know, this is really hard to do, man. This is really hard to do. And if you're willing to put yourself out there and do this and take this risk and take this step, take this leap, I'm going to support you. I say it in every interview I do. Just don't be a terrible person. Don't be a piece of shit, and I got your back. If you're a piece of shit, I'm going to call you out. I love that. And they should be called out.

02 Absolutely, man. I want to talk about this tattoo right here on your arm because it's been staring at me and it's fucking killer artwork. Oh, my God. Look at that. So this is– my tattoos mean a lot to me. Typically, if I get a tattoo, it's because it means something. This is all relatively new. I started this sleeve like a year and a half ago. This one right here that you're looking at is Gemini. for my first son, and then this under here is Pisces for my second son. Wow, that's cool. And then this is going from ashes to new. It's just kind of a life thing. So, yeah, man, you know, like the Grim Reaper and the lilies signifies new life. And then the butterfly for our new album, Reflections, man.

43 Nice. And see, what I like about it, to your point, they all have meaning, but it all kind of goes together. Oh, yeah. Like when I look at somebody who has tattoos and it's just like plop, like no sense, rhyme or reason, I'm like, Yeah, I don't know if I like. That, but yours, it just all flows together. Yeah, it all had a purpose. Just one big piece of art wrapped around my arm, man. Exactly, exactly. And the artist is killer. Michael Kelly, for anyone who's wondering, he's in the Philadelphia area. Absolute phenomenal artist. And that's why you speak straight, because you're from that neck of the woods. Dude, I rep that area hard, man. Not all, but most of our art comes out of that area. We record our records in that area. I get my tattoo work done in that area. It's my hometown. It's my home turf. That's where I rep, and that's where I love being. And I want to be able to support people that are grinding out of that area.

36 Absolutely. Absolutely. That's what, like I'm from Jersey, and so that's kind of what I like in that whole tri-state area is we are very loyal to our own. Yeah, man. Northeast, baby. Exactly. Are you a Flyers fan? I don't follow hockey that much. Okay, then I like you then. Because if you were a Flyers fan, I wouldn't like you. If I had to pick a team, it would be the Flyers. But it's funny, when I was young, it was the Penguins. And the reason why I liked the Penguins when I was young is obviously Mario Lemieux and Yager. And, you know, that team was just absolutely nuts, you know. So, you know, I don't really have time for hockey. Music's better anyway. I mean, I follow sports. I do. I'm a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Okay, well, there you are.

16 And I'm a diehard Philadelphia Phillies fan. But I don't have time for the Sixers or the Flyers, unfortunately. They don't work themselves into my schedule. See, now I'm a Yankee fan and a Giant fan, so now you may not like me too much. Yeah, well, Yankees, you're in the AL, so I don't really care about that unless it matters in the end. We all know the Yankees aren't going to win it, so that's fine. Yeah, there you go. We all know that they're not going to win it. I just hope the Dodgers don't win it again. I'm not interested in that happening. Well, see, we're on the same page. I love it. And the Giants, man, we'll see. Game one, the Giants looked pretty good, but you're never really able to tell from game one. Was it the Giants that were really good or the Cowboys that were really bad? So it's like... You know, for me, I hate the Giants.

58 I'm an Eagles fan. We're in the division together. But I don't hate them as much as I hate the fucking Dallas Cowboys. Well, good. See, we're on the same page as that, too. That's what I'm saying. But I do, when I play my Xbox, Madden football, I play the Giants against the Eagles because. You just got it. Yeah. You got to do that corridor. Exactly. Right there, baby. What else do you want to talk about we haven't covered yet that people should be looking out for from you guys? Um, I mean, you know, there's always stuff happening with us, right? We're always putting out new music. We're always announcing new tours. We're a busy band. Yeah. So I guess really, I mean, like there's nothing, I don't think today at this very moment, there's anything that I really want to pinpoint. I would just say that if you're following and you're listening along, just, you know, just keep a close eye out.

42 I'll tell you this. The only thing that, the only thing that really, the thing that really bothers me in the touring world is, is that when we go through a city and three days later, I see a. Comment that says, I hope that you come to the city that we were just in. Oh my fucking God. So all I'm saying is if you're watching and you go and you want to see From Ashes to New Live, keep an eye on us because we're always busy. We're always going through cities. I'm always producing, writing, and so are the guys. We're always trying to drop new music. We're always going to be doing something. So as long as we're here, we always have news. You just got to keep an eye on our socials to get it. That is another thing I love about you. You're like the busiest band, like the hardest working band out there. Stay busy, baby. Stay busy. And that is that Northeast mentality, work ethic, too. That's right.

23 Work ethic. So you guys fucking kill it. Everybody's got to go buy your merch, too, or they can't listen to my show. And thanks for being here at Louder and on the Adventures of Pipeman. Thanks for having me, brother. You got it. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipeman podcast. On W4CY Radio.
