0:04 Hi, you have done to the censure. Wow for you your. This is the Pipe Man here on the Adventures Pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here with Chris Jericho. So yeah, you just performed here. Welcome to Rockville Man. Oh my god, badass bad as Yeah. We had We had a great time.
0:45 And that's the thing I love about these festivals is that people come early, they stay late, and they want to have a great time. And the true cool thing about it is if you're not playing towards the end of the day, you want to play towards the beginning of the day because people are more excited. There are I'm not quite drunk yet, they haven't been a heat stroke, and they really want to just go nuts and half fun. They've been looking forward to this for months and months and months, so to go on early on the first day is a pretty cool place to be in and I think we had a really good show as a result of that because people were ready to have a good time. You made some great points here, because it's true, especially in Florida, yea so hot that midday people are like, oh, I'm going back to the camper. You know, when you get to the middle of the day thinking about this, and we know this is Florida.
1:27 You get to that two to six area, it's super hot, it's super humid, it's super muggy. People have been drinking. Yeah, that's when the medical tent, you know, the people pass out, you know, and the energy might not be quite the same. So you know, not that you don't accept it and rock it anyways, what I'm just saying, you got to go on earlier. It's a good place to be. Yeah, and especially at Wimmor festivals, because I do festivals all over the world and it amazes me how the early bands have such huge crowds at Wimmor festivals. Well, I mean it's like that in Europe too. The first time we've played Download, we were on early and we went up there to set something up and I'm the saying I.
2:08 Don't set anything up, I don't care anything. But I walked on the stage for some reason and it was an empty field. I was like, Wow, this is gonna be a tough one. Went back down, got ready, came back out twenty minutes later and it was packed as far as I could see, and I was like, Hey, this is amazing. B where did all these people come from? It was just like a snap and they were And that's what it was like today. We were setting up and there was nobody there. But you know, the gates open at eleven, we're on at twelve thirty. Wait and see what happens, and of course it's jam packed full. So yeah, like I said, it's it's always cool to play these these shows, the Wimmer shows, because people show up and you look at the lineup. I mean there is you know, we were on first, but dude, it's then it's Buck Cherry, then it's Bottom Zeppelin, then it's Black Label, then it's Allison and Scott's Ben gunn Rose. Like it's pretty packed from from from one to done, and that's a good it's a good lineup to be.
2:56 A part of. Absolutely, And you're right. The European UK festivals that I do, it's like, man, those are die hard people. So I think Wimmer is like for when the first US festival promoters to make it like it is over. This and we've noticed that right out of the gate because there's been a lot of festivals before. We did a festival tour years ago. It was called the Uproar tour, and there was the Mayhem Tour, and you went all summer long to all the amphitheaters with the same ten twelve fifty evans and it was cool and you drew some nights and some nights you didn't, but it was it was. It was like a normal tour. Wimmer festivals are always jam packed. The only time it was bad ever for us, it's been. Twice now because I evacuated.
3:38 Was the Hurricane Yes comes and washes away everything last year, louder than. Life in Kentucky. We were set up ready to go hurricane warning. They moved us to an inside thing because we're gonna run an inside now and then it's shut down completely. So and that was the first Slayer reunion. So that's the only bad thing. When you get to this time of year, sometimes mother nature is not a apparently. Yeah, I was bitch. I was very bummed that year because I was staying in the parking lot waiting for the it go back to green from red, and I'm like, fuck, I miss Slayer. That's what we felt too, you know, we felt the same thing. Anthrax was supposed to go one right after us, and all of us ended up going to a steakhouse in louis or wherever they were, Lexington or Louisville.
4:21 Wherever it was. And what do you do? Just enjoyed the day and have fun. Everybody's there exactly. Just get together with all your friends and just go hang out. So did you hear about the thing that happened last night with the bare knuckle fighting and music? So whose ages kind of told me about but it was super loud. It didn't quite catch it. Oh, it was totally cool. So it was like you had bare knuckle fighting and music sets in between. And so the main event was Alex is Terrible from Sorry. To Prevail Again. I forget who was the other guy, but. Shit, okay, it was like Alex and Terrible is a pretty big guy. He got he lost. Oh wow, I guess he got staggered.
5:02 I couldn't believe it. Like he was so like he was like Rocky doing Alex the glass Jaw. Yeah, yeah, he. Was like Rocky. And then he got hit one and he was on the ground. You could tell every other time he got up real quick. He was like you. Always staggered, Yeah, you always know that. And now he's gonna perform at Rockville with a broken note. So it was the show here it was. It was at the Ocean Center, Dayton. Yeah, So like I'm thinking maybe they should do something like that with wrestling too, Like they used to do that at what was it Rock on the Range or one of them they used to have the wrestling. I've never done that because if I'm gonna wrestle, we do it, you know, not at the same place you doing a rock show.
5:45 It's not hard. It's not easy to do them both at the same time. That if I was Alex a terrible I probably would have booked the fight after. That's what I'm thinking. That would be a much less terrible idea. How do you how do you get in a bare knuckle fight and then go do a gig? Actually, officially, I've been in plenty of bareknuckle fights. It was at a gas station or you know, a dive bar or whatever, but not to actually do it on. Purpose, Right, So, what else do you got going on in the rest of the year that we want the listeners to know about. I mean, dude, We've got a tour going on right now. After this show today, we got head up for a couple of weeks. And our new song I Know Evil just came out last week was number two most added on radio this week across the nation, which is cool.
6:27 And yeah, I would just keep on playing man and things are going good. We are in a little bit of a role right now. You certainly are. But you're badass like so that's why, Well thank you. Not badass enough to be in a bare knuckle fight, but more and more esoterically badass. Shall we say, Well, let's speak about somebody real quick. Else. That was badass? What do you think about it? I think it was Netflix, the new Netflix Hulk Hokin thing that came out, because I know that was one of your original mentor heroes, right, that's so much. A mentor but a hero when I was a kid, and then we worked a lot together and had a lot of great times, great matches together. And yeah, I mean it was it was quite.
7:07 Quite you reminded of how huge Haulcomania was, how big time that whole phenomenon was. So it was. Yeah, it was a good watch. I was. I enjoyed it nice anything like anything in your whole career, both careers, what would you remember most at this point when you're like eighty Just. Love the fact that I got the tour of the world doing what I always wanted to do, and and and entertain people and make sure that people have a great time. Because once again, if if you're so lucky. To live your dream, you can't complain about anything, and it's very possible to live your dream because because I did it. So that's that's the most.
7:48 Important and memorable thing to me, is that I got a chance to do what I always wanted to do, not just in one field, but in many different fields, right, and had a great time doing it. Well, thank you so much, dude. It's been great. It's been great having you and welcome Rockville, and thanks for being on the Adventures pipe Man. Lots. We had lots of adventures today we did. We did adventures and many more adventures to come. There you go. Hey, it's Chris Jericho Fozzi here and you're listening to the pipe Man. That's right, the pipe Man right here at W four c Y Radio. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipe Man on W for CUI Radio.
