04 Hey, you have done to censure. Wow for you. Your it's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c y Raio and I'm here with My. Name is Lewis and I'm Jack from Descendancy. Nice that you should go on tour with the Descendants. Oh absolutely what. I've heard of those, but I've not listened to it. They're a famous punk band. But like it could be the Descendants. See, it would be a. Tongue twist the Descendants, Descending Descendants.

49 Descendency Descendants tour. Because you guys are the headliners, because the Descendants or nobody here. You are at fucking Bloodstock. Wow, how the fuck did that happen? Yeah, it's kind of a complete well wind, to be honest with you. So we got here to Bloodstock and we came up through Metal to the Masses. We played Metal to the Masses at Sheffield Corporation. It's a great venue. There always such great music of Sheffield. Oh dude, Sheffield's great. Oh my god, there's like it's such a small area. It's like every band's from Sheffield. Yeah, it's so many that there's such Yes, I've reviewed at at least now you're like I think at least a sixth band from Sheffield that I've interviewed, including bring Me Hey.

39 We're not from Sheffield though, we're from Barnsley. Ah so yeah, we're from Barnsley, which is slightly smaller town just on the outside of Sheffield. Good enough. Yeah, but that's it. Yeah, Sheffield is like the like the biggest, like central hub for us. You know, that's where a lot of the metal scene, our local metal scene is, That's where all the action is. So that's where we gravitate towards. And they've been very good to us. You know, every time we go, they love having us. We always get a good crowd. It's always a great show. Honestly, the place is packed out. Like when we did Metal to the Masses going through it and got to that final stage and as we had what two hundred and fifty people in that room I. Think we went. We had the first week of January, so it's frostbit and freezing, oh yeah, and we had forty people that we just we brought. We brought forty people and the venue were like, how have you done this? And it's like these are the people they came to see us.

32 You know, we bring as many people as we possibly can, and then it went from forty to sixty for the semi final, and then in the final we had eighty nine people out of the two hundred and fifty total. I thought it was the twelve bands ninety eleven bands, ten bands, So of the ten bands, we brought eighty nine people. Wow. And by complete chance, we did that last year as well. When we made the final last year we didn't win. Obviously, that's why we're here today. We learned exactly what we needed to do to win for the next year, and we we took all the lessons and all the advice from all of the promoters of all of the people who have Kim to see us, applied it and we've just pled the best show off his lives on the New Blood stage. I was just saying that about a band earlier, about like, you're smart that you took the advice, because basically they're giving you the key to winning the next year, and if you don't listen, you're an idiot.

24 Definitely, it's always one of those things like you you can't make it, you can't like get anywhere really by yourself. You need you need to take on board what other people are saying. People that have been in that situation before you. They know what they're saying. Listen to them. Listen to them because they know how to help you get to that next level. Not only that, it's a different perspective. Okay, so they're of the perspective of the audience, and so that's who you have to appeal to. And when you're it's your own music, you're your own critic, but you need other critics and other good or bad to really give you the objective point of view. I love it when someone says to me something negative quickly negative, you know, like how you can improve it because they've they're coming from an outside perspective and they're.

13 Like, Okay, have you thought about this. That's too cheesy, that's too catchy? Can you make it less catchy? Can you make it more? And we want the feedback, you know. Unfortunately, friends and family will lie to your face and yeah, I want to hear. They're what you need to hear exactly. So I like that objectivity. And you know, as somebody that's from New York and New Jersey very similar to the UK as far as attitude, I'd rather if you don't fucking like me, tell me to my face, don't say good job. Fucking I want to know where I stand. It's not rude like some people in the Southern United States they feel that's rude. No, it's not being rude. It's you know where you stand, man, and how you're gonna get help. If everybody's telling you what they think you want to hear, it's not. And see, you were smart enough to listen, and here you are a bloodstock and fucking a did it blow your mind the kind of crowd that you got here at.

11 Plays out on stage? Ah, you just look at you just see a see of people. Right, you know, I mean, can't even imagine that before you get. One, right man, Like you can't. You cannot comprehend how it's going to be. All weekend we've been going around passing out stickers, passing out BMX with QR codes, passing out leafless you know, you see people in T shirts and hoodies, battle jackets, whatever, with similar kind of bands that we like, what we grew up listening to, and it's like, what are you doing on Saturday? And by the end of it, they were saying, we're coming to see you guys. By the sound of it, I was like, that's the right way to answering. Nice. So it's been a great networking experience. It's been a great way to meet new friends and new friends. You know.

51 Yeah, absolutely, and listen, we're all one big family here a bloodstack. That's the beauty of this festival is it's a community. It's a family. And because of that is why you had the crowd you did too, besides the fact that your brilliant musicians. I thought he was a picture of the crowd. I thought he was gonna pull out like a twenty or something and pay me for that compliment. You get excited. Then the crowd. The crowd was let's see, the crowd was intense, literally intense. Wow. Wow, that looks more like more people than Wednesday thirteen.

32 Last night. Wednesday thirteen crushed it last night. Again. I don't think that ten could have held that many people. You know, it was so good. And the benefit was because I was talking with him yesterday beforehand, and it's like that's his type of show, Like playing during the day doesn't make sense, you know. Oh, definitely, he is a creature of the night. Those It just adds to it, doesn't it. You know, he gets the show on that stage, and he just smashed out of the part on brilliant. Like I was super super tired after fifteen interviews, no sleep the night before, and I still stuck around for his set and it was worth it. And I loved what he did some murder dolls.

18 I loved nineteen seventy six sixty six Me and Maccus. That's like a favorite murdered all song. So when he busted that one out, I was like grubbing Maccus and screaming. I was right nice lost it a little bit. And I really loved that he paid homage to Joey, you know that tragedy. That was cool, cool as shit. I actually interviewed Joey shortly before he passed, Yeah, and like I'm in awe of him because he's like the best drummer ever, Like him and Lombardo my two favorite drummers ever, you know, yeah, except your drummer, because I want I want him to feel bad. I wouldn't give him that much credit. So now how do you top Bloodstock?

01 I guess they got off to Oscar's. Back play the main stage. That's it. I mean, have some goals, have likes, you know. That's true. That's true. So I like that, you know, because there are people out there musicians they think they should instantly be on the main stage. It's not what music's about, you know, And it's people like you that actually get to the main stage. What I've always found is the people that are the long living icons of music, specifically metal, are the ones that have no clue they are and never set out to be rock stars. It's the ones that set out to be rock stars that never do become one.

47 You know. It's about the music which speak of which when did this whole for both of you, this whole obsession with music start. So I was thirteen when I got my first guitar. You know, how do I play? Slayer was one of the things. You know, nice, that's my favorite band? Say that was I was like looking at the tuning and I was like, to my attach, I don't know what this means, and he's like, oh, he flat tuned it down, and I was like, I'm hooked. You know. It's funny because I'm ten years older than Lewis and Marcus and Harry and the band, and they grew up listening to the stuff I grew up listening to. I was locked away in my room playing guitar, Trivian machine head bullet of my Valentine arch enemy Slayer Metallica, and that's the stuff that they vibe off and jam on nice and it's it's awesome to be in the band with like minded musicians. You know, you've got the same influences, You've got the same goals.

50 I like that Slayer wristband. How was that Slayer and Metallica's first show ever, first show ever, first show ever? Wow? Yeah and so yeah, And I've Slayer. I think I've seen like six hundred times or more. Sixty six. I'm getting there because I've gone. I'm doing coverage at rock Lahoma on Labor Day weekend and they're headlining Solay. No, you did it wrong, You did it wrong. It's fucking Slayer, right.

31 I've got my top one and I'm not sweat, so I definitely did it wrong. Yeah, there you go. So tell us a little bit more for the listeners of about your band, how they can check out all your socials, how they can get your merch. You can't listen to my show. And let's say buy your merch they can fuck off exactly because that's the only way you get to the next gig. And people don't realize. That's why I always pointed out that, you know, you don't get up there and live in the dream life, and you know, it's more like you're fucking sleeping on the floor of your campsite and. You're lucky you can afford that. Yeah, Okay, we were looking that we got a company. Spot, That's what I'm saying.

13 Yeah, right, it was so it was so jampacked when we arrived. You know, I think we had to wait three hours until we're able to actually get tented up. Wow, as four of us in the band, and we've got this six month ten or something like that. You know, just we've got to this space for everything. Because you've never been to a festival before. So Bloodstock's his first festival. Wow, I get to put some Yeah first time. Yeah, I came to Bloodstock last year. Harry's done festivals before, Marcus hasn't done festivals before. So half of us are in the know. Half of us have no clue. And I think these guys are gonna feel it on the feet later. I've already got blisters and I'm i'd say a season festival going. Yeah, yeah, you know it's brutal. It is brutal, I guys say.

53 Over here and in Europe, you guys, hats off to you because you guys are so committed. Because in a state, camping is more cushy than the here. You know. It's like you go to the festival there, you drive up to your campsite and you're as signed one. I go to hell fests and I've watched people walking for miles with all their camping year I'm like. Fuck that. Yeah, it's hot call, right, real hot call. Yeah, So tell them how they reach out to you and check out your merch all your upcoming dates and all that. You can find us on all social media platforms at Descendency Band. All our music is on Spotify, Amazon Music, iTunes, all music streaming platforms. We have our debut EP that we released in late twenty twenty three. Since then, we've released a couple of singles Taste of You in twenty twenty five. We recently released Lost at the start of this year on New Year's Day.

51 Nice. Well, I'm looking forward to the Descendency Descendants. Tour it's O week. Yeah, this will get picked up by other publications from the AI and it will be like you. Generate posters have already is already happened, dude. Do what the descendants will be like, Oh fuck it, we might as well bring them moneyway. Right there you go. Well, you guys rock.
