04 Hey, you're listening to The Adventure of Pumlin on W4CY. For you. This is Pipe Man here on the Adventures of Pipe Man W4CY radio, and I'm here with. Terry Corso from Alien Ant Farm. Yes, you've got to stop following me to all the festivals. I know, we've got to quit meeting like this. I know, right? Or we'll just keep meeting like this. It's okay. I like it. I like it, too. And I love that you're here at Lowriden Life, and that you were killing it for the background music for other interviews I was doing. Nice. Right?
45 You know, they're like, I wish they'd shut up. Right. Can they turn it down? And I have to talk about right off the bat, your shirt. Cause we talked about it beforehand and I can't wait till my daughter hears this. I'm going to make her listen to the interview. She doesn't normally listen. You know, it's like, it's dad. Like, Come on, Dad. I'm not going to listen to all your fucking interviews. But we had a family pug who passed away. Greatest dog I ever had in my life. Right. And her and her husband love ramen like nobody's business. Yeah. So you're wearing a shirt of a pug with ramen. My two of my favorite things too. So nice.
26 I won't lie. And yeah, I had, you know what? I, I. Had a pug, um, for years named Ziggy and he was the greatest dog and, and, um, you know, he, he, he got old and I lost him. And, uh, but that was me going, all right, I want pugs now from, for now on. And then I found this dog, this dog came through my life, um, He's my ace deuce, man. He's my buddy Bats. And he's actually an affin pincher, which. Looks like a hairy pug. Basically, they look like an Ewok mixed with a pug, kind of. And so I have him, and then I was like, I still want pugs, though. So I went and I got a little black pug. And I named him, yeah, I got, I got a little black pug and I named him Bugs. And then I started getting the fever and, and I was like, man, you know what? I want another fawn pug. So I got my, my, my friend who breathes, she had another litter and I was like, well, she had a litter, right? And I was eyeballing them.
25 I was like, oh, I was telling my roommate, I was like, I really want a fawn pug. I was feeling it. And then she got rid of the whole litter. So I was like, okay, never mind. Good thing I didn't get another dog. Right, right. And then she got another litter, man. And I was like, okay, I want one. So I picked one and she held him. Now I have Boris. So I have bats, bugs, and Boris. So you have a pug addiction. I do, I guess so. I'm a pug dad. Now, since I never had a black. You know, as a pug dad, I was. just ran into also was, you know, Chris Hogworth from In This Moment? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a pug dad, too. Wow. Yeah, me and him are, we always talk about our pugs. You have play dates with the pugs?
06 No, because we don't live very close to each other, but we might. He's in L.A. I'm more towards Palm Springs, so. Right. We've got to put together some play dates. You can meet in the middle. Yeah. You know? So, do you find a difference between the black ones and the fawn ones? Besides the color. Not really. You know what's funny is my black one, Bugs, he was an insane person. Like his whole early life. He's three now. Three and a half. He was totally crazy. And then, you know, he started, the older he got, he started kind of, you know, he took his lead from Bats, my senior. And he started acting right, but he was still wild and crazy.
47 And then as soon as I got the puppy, all of a sudden he turned into my, like, My, like, more, like, reserved, like, middle child, if you will. Like, now he's chill. Yeah, now he's just chill. He has his little moments where he gets crazy, but he's just chill now. And I got Boris is crazy for everyone, the little puppy. Yeah, well, that's... And I've also read that the fawns do get a little crazier than the black ones. Okay. Like, personality-wise. I don't know if it's true or not, but. Mine wasn't too crazy. Only one crazy thing she used to do. Tell me if your pugs ever do this because no other dog I've had in my life did this.
28 She was very well behaved. So like she never had a leash on her in her life. Okay. But the one thing she did used to do is when we were like out in the front yard of my house, if a car drove by. She would go chase the car at the wheel. Oh, my gosh. And she would stop, like, an inch from the wheel. Like, she would, like.... And it would be so scary because there was nothing we could do. Like, she would just take off. Wow. And we just had to pray. Oh, my goodness. And she, like, never hit a wheel, but she would come so close to it. That is insane. Yeah, I'd be nervous. My guys definitely chase cars, but they're in the fence.
12 Like, we have a fenced yard. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they just run the line of the fence. But if I let them out, they'd probably chase a car. well there you go bugs especially my black one. I just saw it was ai but i get all this pug stuff on tiktok i'm on pug talk i guess somehow. I ended up on pug talk i get like my algorithm is wild pug pugville. Right and i saw a pug i loved it like oh that's cool a pug skateboarding in a bowl. Wow. Like all these dogs can skate now, man. A lot of them can skate better than I ever could. That's crazy.
52 Right. And you know what else too is where I live once a year, they have the dog surfing championship. Oh, wow. That's pretty trippy. Like, like I surf. So I'm like, that's pretty cool. And look, And these dogs are, like, really surfing. Like, they're catching waves and really surfing. Like, do they start with the guy on the board and then he jumps off? No, they, like, bring the dog out there on the board. And then they just line him up and let him go? Yep. Wow. It's wild. And it's like any other surf championship. It's like a real championship. Yeah. Yeah. So it's wild. That's insane. I wonder if some dogs are better than other dogs at surfing.
36 They gotta be. The bigger dogs are probably not as good. Just like in real life. The bigger humans don't have as easy a time surfing. As the smaller humans. So maybe it's the same thing. Because the board wobbles, right? Exactly. You know, and it depends on the weight that the board can withstand, you know? Yes. So I just thought of something, too, a little while ago. I thought of a tour you guys should do. I was at Rock, Oklahoma a couple weeks ago. Okay. And I saw this artist. She was amazing. She's kind of like grunge. But the reason I say this is her name was Paris. Can you guess what her last name was?
16 Jackson. That's it. It was Michael's daughter. How was she? She was so good. Okay, cool. I want to say I saw a mention that she was there, but I didn't get to catch any of it. Go look up a video or something. She was really good. I was impressed. How fun. And she looks nothing like Michael. Yeah, yeah. Like, I would never know if you didn't tell me. I wish we could do a song together. That'd be fun. See, that would be pretty cool. I think that'd be really cool. Or even if you could do... Like, you could collab on a song, but you could also, like, live... do Smooth Criminal with her.
56 Yeah, you never know. Like, that would be so cool, right? Yeah, that would be awesome. You know? So I'm putting it out there in the world right now. All right, let's get that energy going on. I know, right? Put it out there. That would be really cool. So what else do you got going on? You're here at Loudon Life. You keep following me around all the festivals. Yeah. What else you got going on? Well, today's kind of like tour kickoff. Nice. I mean, we're, as you know, we're... We're celebrating 25 years of Anthology this year. Does it blow your mind? It's wild. It flies, man. What the fuck? I'm trying to take it gracefully. Whenever I think about it, I'm trying to be graceful about it. But it's very exciting to have this thing that's this old now and.
41 Really influenced or. you know just anyone even just knowing us one song or knowing the whole record just just being up in people's lives like that is so weird that's what weirds me out i'm like that long of just kind of being around. And yeah part of people's lives right. It's crazy yeah that's that's really crazy. Does it weird you out too like when you're here at louder in life and you have this huge crowd out there for. You and they're singing the song right. No it's really cool um I feel like it's 50% people that grew up on our music and 50% just straight-up curiosity factor.
22 You know what I mean? People talk about us, I guess, whether it's good or bad. And anyways, yeah, I mean, the fact that we play these festivals and the crowds turn up is really... exciting and fun and and i mean that's honestly maybe what made us decide to to make any kind of a deal out of the. Anniversary you know right exactly we. Come play these festivals and everybody's so excited you know maybe it's time to well which is what we're doing which i was going to say is um day after tomorrow we kick the tour off nice uh we're only doing a month leg through the east and up into the northeast but it's all going to be anthology driven set um pretty much celebrating the 25th we got special anthology merch and all that so we released it on vinyl um that's kind of been my world lately that and writing because we're we're still working on a new record i think last time i saw you yeah working with howard benson on a record yeah yeah and uh we're still working on that record nice but it's coming along and uh we.
26 Got some we got some fun tracks. I'm sure it's going to be badass. Yeah, hopefully all of this momentum kind of equals some excitement for a new Alien Ampharm record, which would be cool. And a new fan base adding on. Yeah, well, you know, when we come play these festivals, that's another thing I notice is just a lot of really young kids coming turning up and, and knowing who we are. Exactly. That's rad. You know, like that's, that's so important. And it's, I know it's a lot of like a lot of, um, Parents that turn their kids on, you know? But it is cool today because, like, I think back when I was a teenager, I was not going to any show my dad was going to, and he certainly wasn't going to.
13 Any one that I wanted to go to. Probably, yeah. So that's what's cool about today, you know? Like, I see all these generations out there. They're together. And even with me, my kids and grandkids both like my music. Yeah. And it's like I trained them right. Isn't that exciting? Yeah, yeah. That's really cool, right? So I can share it and go to festivals, you know, and bring them with me and, like, have three generations. Like, when in history has that ever happened with music? That's incredible. Right? Yeah, I feel that's really awesome. It's never really happened until now. Yeah. Maybe there's hope for humanity in the future. I remember my dad took me to see Judas Priest when I was a kid.
54 Nice. Defenders of the Faith Tour, Long Beach Arena, and.... It's funny because that was what I thought about when you were saying you and your dad didn't want to go to the same concerts because I don't think my dad did either but he had like a date he was dating a young lady and he took her and me and my friend to go see Judas Priest that was my first real concert ever so me and my dad did go to a concert together but I don't think we had the same. Agenda no no no he had a very different agenda there definitely So is there anything else you want to share with the listeners before you go? Let me think. I mean, we're going on this tour. We want to do some more legs of it. Hopefully we'll get Anthology out to some other regions. Look for our new record coming.
43 We got a new song coming out next week. Wow. So keep an eye on the waves, on the wavelengths and the frequencies. And we're around. Come check us out. Well, you certainly are, because I can't go anywhere without you being there. And that's a good thing. You're going to be at home, like, open the shower, like, wait. What the fuck? But you know what? I think it's great. I think one of the things that I love about you most... is that you're just a great human being, and that makes you a better artist, in my opinion. Thank you, thank you. Well, thank you, and thank you for being here. It's very cool and chill. We always have a good conversation.
25 Exactly. Yeah, cheers. So thank you once again for being on The Adventures of Pipe Man. My pleasure. Stop stalking me. Until next time. Stop stalking me. Yeah. Thank you for listening to The Adventures of Pipe Man on W4CY Radio. Thank you.
