World Champion Texas Rangers Reveal Gold-Trimmed Uniforms

World Champion Texas Rangers Reveal Gold-Trimmed Uniforms

The defending World Series Champion Texas Rangers (I still smile when I say that out loud) will soon show off celebratory uniforms to be worn during designated games for the upcoming season.

The 2005 Boston Red Sox were the first to use gold trim on uniforms to celebrate a championship the prior season, and just about every World Series-winning team has followed suit except for the 2006 Chicago White Sox, the 2008 Boston Red Sox and the 2010 New York Yankees.

In a series of social media posts, the club revealed the uniforms that include the World Series Commissioner's Trophy patch on the sleeve.

The team announced the "Gold Collection" will be available to the public in the Grand Slam Team Store at Globe Life Field on March 21. The Rangers host the Boston Red Sox for two final spring training games on March 25-26 before hosting the Chicago Cubs on Opening Day on March 28.

The gold trim outlines the team word scripts across the front and the numbers and names on the backs of the jerseys in a very subtle way, while not taking away from the original red and blue colors of the team.

Gold trim also outlines the "T" on the Rangers caps.

The Rangers plan to wear this uniform for six home games this season:

  • March 28, 30, 31 against the Cubs
  • April 10 against the A’s
  • May 14 against the Guardians
  • June 4 against the Tigers
