You know, I'm multiple days into an extended fast, water only.
Speaker AAnd I'm getting these revelations.
Speaker AAnd one of them is, I was in a hyperbaric chamber today because I'm doing this therapy for my lungs because they got jacked as a result of COVID and pneumonia.
Speaker AAnd I.
Speaker AIt's almost like I could hear the words of Paul being echoed in my spirit.
Speaker ALike, beat your flesh into submission.
Speaker AAnd I started imagining, like, my flesh being separate than my spirit spirit.
Speaker ALike, if you imagine them being two separate people.
Speaker AAnd it's like your flesh, what you're doing while you're fasting is your flesh is getting so weak that it's like, I don't want to talk.
Speaker AI just want to lay down.
Speaker AI don't want to think anymore.
Speaker ABut really, your spirit is saying, yes.
Speaker AYou finally shut up because you won't stop talking.
Speaker AAnd you.
Speaker AIt's always when you're hungry.
Speaker AIt's always when you're sexually aroused.
Speaker AIt's always when you have anxiety.
Speaker AIt's always.
Speaker AIt's all happening in the realm of the flesh.
Speaker ASo it's like when you go multiple days into a fast, the deeper you go into the fast, the more you feel like you want to die.
Speaker AYour spirit is saying, yes, die.
Speaker ALike, yes, shut up.
Speaker AFinally quit all that stupidity.
Speaker AAnd that's what was going on in me, was I was feeling like, oh, man, I.
Speaker AI don't know if I can do another day of this fast.
Speaker ABut my spirit was like, keep going, keep going, keep going.
Speaker AKill it.
Speaker AKill the whole thing.
Speaker AI'm tired of listening to it.
Speaker AAnd I could feel my spirit coming forward.
Speaker AThat's the best way I can explain.
Speaker AIt's like the weaker my flesh gets each day I go into this fast, the more my spirit starts to come forward.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, oh, my spirit's bold.
Speaker AIt's my flesh that's always scared.
Speaker AIt's like, my spirit's wise because I've been taking in the scriptures all these years.
Speaker AIt's my flesh that keeps forgetting and is stupid.
Speaker AIt's like the battle is the flesh and the spirit.
Speaker AAnd fasting is what you're doing when you're intentionally weakening your body to the point where it doesn't want to do it anymore.
Speaker AAnd that's what enables your spirit to come forward.
Speaker ASo that's personally what I've been dealing with this time.
Speaker AAnd the thing is, most Christians just.
Speaker AThey don't fast.
Speaker AThey lie about fasting.
Speaker AThey fast from other stuff.
Speaker ABut I'm talking water only old school.
Speaker ABiblical style, fast, New Testament.
Speaker AThis is what they meant when they were doing it.
Speaker ABecause what will happen is, yes, you should weaken yourself.
Speaker AYou should, it's, it's borderline biological starvation.
Speaker AYou're not going to die.
Speaker AMost of us got more than enough fat reserves to go extended periods of time.
Speaker ABut for me, as somebody who's been fasting for years and years and years, I'm pushing myself more this week.
Speaker AAnd I thought to myself, this, this needs to be taught.
Speaker AIt's, it's almost like there's, there's phases of transition and I can't prove what I'm about to say biblically because there is no scripture for this, but there's something about a three day Mark.
Speaker AAnd I, I almost feel like three days is the minimum to push past a threshold.
Speaker ABecause it's like you, three days, most people have never fasted three days.
Speaker AYou're watching this right now.
Speaker AYou, you're a Christian, you claim to be a Christian for years.
Speaker AYou've probably never only drank water for three full days.
Speaker AI'm talking days and nights.
Speaker AAnd, and the reality is what, when.
Speaker AFor people like me who've done extended fast, three days is a spiritual threshold because three days is like, oh, you're dead enough for your spirit to come forward.
Speaker AAnd then you go to day five, then you go to day seven.
Speaker AThere's different benchmarks now.
Speaker AIf you've never fasted before, start with 24 hours water only do it once a week for a whole month.
Speaker AThen go into the second month and try to see if you can go 48 hours and then do that once a week.
Speaker AThen go into the third month and see if you can start extending it out.
Speaker AAnd I'm telling you, there's different thresholds.
Speaker ALike there are levels to fasting.
Speaker AI don't care what anyone says.
Speaker AI was just revisiting the text.
Speaker AHow in the Book of Mark, you know, they say that in early manuscripts it didn't say.
Speaker AAnd some come out by, by fasting and prayer, but in transcripts they do.
Speaker AAnd a lot of theologians have, and biblical scholars have debated, well, do we add it and do we not add it?
Speaker ABecause it's not in, in the oldest manuscripts, but it is in the, the newer ones.
Speaker AAnd, and ultimately where they landed is we need to include this because the early church, these early manuscripts, even though they're not the first manuscripts, they included that some don't come out by prayer and fasting because they, they, the early church understood absolutely necessary for spiritual warfare.
Speaker AAnd it's like they thought it was so important that they either it was always there or, and, or they added it because they felt like it was that poor.
Speaker ASo let's just keep it.
Speaker AAnd so for many of you, it's like what's missing from my Christian walk?
Speaker APrayer and fasting.
Speaker AAnd fasting.
Speaker AAnd I'm telling you, it's like a, it's like a hidden secret.
Speaker ABut you'll, you can't watch teachings on fasting and experience the benefits of fasting.
Speaker AYou have to actually do it.
Speaker AAnd I, for me, I feel like the guy who's calling everybody's bluff right now to be like, you've never done a water only three day fast you've never done, because if you did, your, your spirit would be leaping right now over what I'm saying, begging you to do it again.
Speaker AAnd so my encouragement to you just even watching this right now is put push aside the plate, go through that protocol I just gave and, and, and let your spirit come forward and let your flesh take the backseat.
Speaker AAnd you ain't going to physically die, but if you start feeling like you are, you're probably doing it right.
Speaker AAnd nobody's going to love you enough to say that because we're so scared.
Speaker AI don't want to have anybody, you know, my, what about my medication?
Speaker AWhatever.
Speaker AWhat about it?
Speaker AThere is no protocol in the bible about medication, but there is a protocol about fasting.
Speaker AWhat about it?
Speaker AYou know, and you have to do some of this stuff under doctor's wisdom and, and, and doctors protocols, you know, in conjunction and they can help you figure that all out.
Speaker ABut I'd rather lean on the side of you actually doing what the word of God says to do, which requires faith, than lean on the side of caution.
Speaker ABecause caution is a cousin of fear.
Speaker AAnd it's like for me, I stopped all of my supplements, I stopped everything and just said that I'm just doing this thing and I'm telling you I feel great physically after you cross that certain threshold.
Speaker AAnd then what begins to happen spiritually, I believe is even more important.
Speaker AAnd I just got out of a zoom right now where I was a guest on another, on another guy's show.
Speaker AAnd I'm just sitting here, my voice is still hoarse, you know, because again you can tell my body's like going through it because I ministered last weekend.
Speaker ABut my point is, as I'm speaking on this guy's broadcast, he's getting blasted with the anointing so strong he's crying.
Speaker AThe guy interviewing me is crying and he's a renowned prophet.
Speaker AAnd then all of a sudden he just starts laughing hysterically because, like, I released this word and the joy of the Lord hit him, and he just can't stop laughing.
Speaker AThen I can't stop laughing.
Speaker AAnd we just started going into a revival mode.
Speaker ABut the thing is, I believe it was directly connected to the fasting there.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AIt's like an unavoidable thing.
Speaker AIt's like, yeah, the fasting produced this.
Speaker AThis moment.
Speaker AThere's some things that you're not going to happen independent of fasting.
Speaker AAnd everybody wants to be powerful, but it only comes as you experience being powerless.
Speaker AWhen I am weak, then I am strong.
Speaker ASo the question I'm going to end with is, when is the last time you've made yourself weak?
Speaker AThat's what it means to be disciplined in the things of the spirit.
Speaker AWhen I'm weak.
Speaker ASo when I'm weak from fasting, I say less, but it hits harder.
Speaker AThere's something about that.
Speaker AThere's certain anointings that can only be cultivated in prayer.
Speaker AThen there's other anointings that can only be cultivated in prayer and fasting.
Speaker AAnd I really believe that we need to go back to this ancient discipline and.
