Feeling the Feels: Finding the Sweet Spot

Feeling the Feels: Finding the Sweet Spot

Do you ever find yourself returning to the same painful feelings over and over? It’s your very own version of Ground Hog Day. Maybe you find yourself using the common coping mechanism of numbing out just to avoid those feelings. In today’s episode, we learn about the differences between emotions and feelings, and we identify the sweet spot where we can play with influencing our feelings.

Emotions are physiological sensations experienced in the body. They come before feelings and are the raw data experienced in the body.

Feelings are what happen as we integrate emotions.

Since feelings are the integration point of raw physiological data – it is the place where we can learn how to shift perspectives. Learn how to tweak how emotions are interpreted.

We can do this by bringing conscious awareness to our feelings and employing radical self-love, non-judgmental acceptance, and a sense of curious playfulness to our feelings.

We can’t avoid emotions, but we can influence how we feel the feels.
