Thressa Pinesmith Profile Photo

Author

Thressa Pine-Smith is an Oakland native whose voice resonates with the vibrant diversity of her hometown. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, autism, and ADHD, Thressa's journey through neurodivergence has profoundly shaped her worldview and her art. Her debut novel, "The Full Spectrum," was born from a desire to see authentic Black neurodivergent representation in literature—a mirror she longed for in her own journey of self-discovery.

When not crafting stories that challenge societal norms and celebrate neurodiversity, Thressa works as a professional email marketer and social media specialist, bringing her unique perspective to the digital landscape. She finds joy in the quiet moments spent with her partner and their cat, Gina Waters, whose feline antics often inspire moments of levity in her writing.

Thressa's sophomore novel, "Finally Feeling," is slated for release in early 2025. This eagerly anticipated follow-up promises to further explore the intersections of race, neurodiversity, and personal growth.

Through her writing, Thressa aims to create spaces where Black neurodivergent individuals can see themselves reflected, celebrated, and understood. She believes in the power of storytelling to foster empathy, challenge preconceptions, and ultimately, to change the world—one beautifully complex character at a time.
