Rev. Dr. Stephanie Wilkins Empowering Women to Overcome Grief, Reclaim Hope, and Live Fearlessly After 50 Rev. Dr. Stephanie Wilkins is a dynamic leader, educator, speaker, and advocate who inspires women to rise above grief, reclaim joy, and embrace fearless living at every stage of life. With over two decades of experience as an educator and ministry leader, Dr. Wilkins has made it her mission to empower women, especially those over 50, to rediscover their strength and purpose after loss or adversity. Dr. Wilkins holds an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy in Humanitarianism, a Master’s in Education, and a Master of Arts in Ministry, and she is certified in PK-12 Education, ESL, and Special Education. As a trailblazer in education, she served as the Founding School Leader/Principal of the KIPP Foundation, bringing innovative leadership to schools and communities. She is also a Texas Legislative Black Caucus honoree and the recipient of the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service, a testament to her lifelong dedication to transforming lives and championing social justice. A powerful communicator with an authentic, humorous, and passionate speaking style, Dr. Wilkins is widely known for her expertise in working through grief, empowering women after 50, and the transformative power of prayer. She has been featured in prominent media outlets, including WOW Magazine, the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Defender, and Amazing 102.5 FM, and she has graced stages such as the 2024 Women of Excellence Conference and the Servant’s House Ministries Women’s Conference. Dr. Wilkins is also a prolific author, having penned four books as part of her twelve-part journal series on overcoming loss and reclaiming joy. She is currently working on her memoir, My Story, and a retreat series for daughters navigating life without their mothers. Beyond her ministry and writing, Dr. Wilkins is deeply committed to community service. She is an advisory member of the National Hispanic Professional Organization (NHPO), a board member of the Houston Black American Democrats, and an active member of Pure Justice, where she advocates for criminal justice reform. As an Associate Pastor at St. John’s Downtown and the Program Director for Black Churches for Digital Equity, Dr. Wilkins seamlessly blends her spiritual leadership with a passion for empowering underserved communities. Her annual Overcoming Grief/Reclaiming Joy Workshop continues to provide solace and encouragement to countless women seeking to heal and thrive. When she’s not empowering others, Dr. Wilkins enjoys traveling the world and sharing moments with her beloved family, including her son, Shaun, her bonus son Brian and cherishing the memory of her late son, Jordan.
