You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1441. Today's Devo is called the Directions.
00:00:06.799 --> 00:00:26.000
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven.
00:00:26.000 --> 00:01:19.969
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Monday and good morning. Stephanie here, and I'm very excited to dive into this week's set of devotions because I'm going to be diving into the question about the direction of your life. So this all came about when I was having a conversation with one of my friends. Her name is Val. Really sweet girl. Her and I have grown close this year, and she was talking to me about how she just doesn't know what the next step is for her life. And even though I'm older than her, I feel like every couple of years we are all met with this same crossroads of what's the next step for me? I have dreams in my heart. I have goals that I want to reach. Some of them are going to take me a year, two years. Some of them may take me 10 years.
00:01:19.969 --> 00:01:24.310
But I have these dreams and desires that God has placed in my heart.
00:01:24.310 --> 00:01:35.989
So how do I achieve them? Which way do I go to make it happen? Which dream do I even pursue? Because we all have multiple dreams.
00:01:35.989 --> 00:01:39.189
So which one should I pursue, even right now?
00:01:39.189 --> 00:01:43.750
Well, it's very, very normal to be in this position.
00:01:43.750 --> 00:02:17.039
We've all been there, we are all there. And I promise you, you will be in this exact same position again in the future. So I wanted to devote this week to helping you, whoever needs this direction, find the clarity of what the next step should be. There's a lot of components to it, spiritual components, practical components. But at the end of this week, I just want to make sure that you leave with clarity of what's the wisest next step for you.
00:02:17.039 --> 00:02:31.759
So let's jump into it. My first encouragement would be, you need to write down every dream that you have, every desire that God has placed in your heart, write it down in detail, put it on paper.
00:02:31.759 --> 00:03:09.039
Because the first step that we have to take is identifying that there is a desire in our heart that the Lord has placed there. And there are desires that can be placed maybe through comparison, maybe through social media, maybe through somebody else's successes, through what other people want for us, through what we expected we should have already. So the first thing we have to do is decide what does the Lord want for me? And then we gotta decide, what's my lane, what keeps me in my lane?
00:03:09.039 --> 00:04:19.300
And if you're married with kids, what keeps me in my family's lane? How does this keep me in alignment with my spouse, with my morals? For example, I have dreams to write a book one day, but I have two babies at home, and my husband is growing his career, and I'm working full time at my church. This may not just be the season for me to write a book, but that's still a desire that I took away in my heart that will one day come to fruition. And it's just not the dream that's gonna come to fruition right now, because it might just be out of alignment with the assignment God has placed me in, which is to raise my kids, to take care of my husband, take care of my home, take care of my church. That's what the Lord wants me to do. And I will know when that season is right to pursue another dream. And another question I want to ask you. When you are trying to make a decision of where to go in your life, what would your life look like if you completely got rid of the voice of fear? Completely get rid of the voice of excuses, get rid of the voice of fear?
00:04:19.300 --> 00:04:23.139
And what does your thoughts look like?
00:04:23.139 --> 00:04:49.209
Because here's something that I truly believe. The Lord is a guide. He will tell you yes or no. He will widen your path and order your steps. Proverbs 16:9 says, the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. So ask the Lord these questions, Lord, what do you want from me?
00:04:49.209 --> 00:05:19.350
What have you placed me on this earth to do? What are my gifts? And how can I use my gifts to grow something, to raise my kids? Narrow down what I am called to do, and it may be 15 desires that you have, but what is one thing that you can accomplish in the next two, three years when it comes to wondering where you want to go in life? You can ask the Lord Jesus, where do you think I should go? What do you think I should do?
00:05:19.350 --> 00:05:53.089
And make it clear to me and the next 48 hours, I promise you, he's answered me before, and I trust he will answer you. So let's continue talking about the directions of life this week, and I pray that this gives you clarity and boldness to step into that next season. Let's pray. God, we thank you that even though we plan our ways, you establish our steps And I just start to declare right now that you order our steps every day. And you make it extremely clear to us where we're supposed to go. You widen our path.
00:05:53.089 --> 00:06:27.000
You open the doors that no man can open. You close the doors that. That no man can shut. So, God, I pray that you will just give everybody clarity today. That you will give me direction, that you will give me peace, but you will just make it clear as day where I'm supposed to go. And in the meantime, I keep my eyes set on you. You are my guide. Not my emotions, not my feelings, not my intuition, but you are my guide. I place my trust in you.
00:06:27.000 --> 00:06:46.019
And in Jesus name we all pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
