Update: watched Ronny Chieng’s NEW special and went back and listened to episode 13 again. Still an episode that makes me giggle a lot and fun to see which bits made it into his special.
Also saw Birbigs in Denver in December- and I’m a little sad the “death pledge” joke didn’t make the cut.
I’m not a comedian, but I love to hear them talk shop. This has some of the vibe of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee- but goes deeper. I’ve learned about comedians I might not have come across otherwise. Ronny Chieng’s episode was one of my favorites- and it lead me to his Netflix special which was a pandemic viewing highlight. The best shows are when they go deep into the material and we get great discussions and tips around the craft. The 2nd Ira Glass episode was especially interesting. I was really bummed last June that Birbigs’ show was postponed, but now I can’t wait to see how much it has developed when we CAN go. Highly recommend for people interested in creative processes and quirky, hilarious conversations.
