00:01:02.154 --> 00:01:04.293
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>So thank you for joining me, Alice.

00:01:05.634 --> 00:01:07.810
> Alice Nelson>Yes, thank you so much for having us.

00:01:08.001 --> 00:01:15.894
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Why don't you start off by telling everybody a little bit about yourself and then Steve and Jake and tell the listeners a little bit about themselves as well.

00:01:16.793 --> 00:01:42.998
> Alice Nelson>Yeah, absolutely. So, hi, uh, my name is Alice Nelson. I am 20 years old. I am from a very small town in Alabama. I've been singing since the age of three, and that's up in my very first stage. When I was seven years old, uh, my dad did barbecue competition, so I got to get up on stage during one of those and sing my little heart out. And ever since, I've been just traveling and singing, and I just.

00:01:43.046 --> 00:01:54.433
> Alice Nelson>I'd love to get to perform, and I love to do everything with music. I've written since I was around ten years old, and I've been nonstop since.

00:01:56.873 --> 00:02:03.933
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>All right, well, Steve, you want to tell everybody a little bit about yourself?

00:02:05.993 --> 00:02:16.813
> Stephen Steiner>Hi. My name is Stephen Steiner. I am m 34 years old. Uh, I moved here to Alabama from Washington and Oregon state area.

00:02:17.674 --> 00:02:22.574
> Stephen Steiner>I met Alice about a year ago, two years ago.

00:02:23.990 --> 00:02:35.433
> Stephen Steiner>Um, my dad was in her band. He was a drummer. Uh, and I'm a little bit into music myself. I'm currently in college and working, uh, on my future.

00:02:37.693 --> 00:02:40.514
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>All right, well, congratulations on that.

00:02:41.253 --> 00:02:44.753
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Jade, you want to tell the listeners a little bit about yourself?

00:02:45.973 --> 00:02:46.870
> Alice Nelson>Yes, sir.

00:02:46.870 --> 00:02:52.794
> Jade Booker>Uh, my name is Jade Booker, and I'm from the enterprise area myself. I'm 20.

00:02:53.810 --> 00:02:59.503
> Jade Booker>Um, I met Alice at my job. I work at the waffle house. She likes blueberry waffles.

00:02:59.663 --> 00:03:16.463
> Jade Booker>Yeah. Um, she asked me to be a part of her music video, and that was pretty scary because I don't do very much in front of the cameras or in front of groups. I'm not very easy with that stuff.

00:03:16.503 --> 00:03:17.568
> Alice Nelson>But I had a lot of fun.

00:03:17.616 --> 00:03:26.433
> Jade Booker>I learned some new stuff. Um, I'm waiting for college enrollment, and this is about me.

00:03:29.253 --> 00:03:29.370
> Alice Nelson>All.

00:03:29.370 --> 00:03:48.843
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Ah, right, Alice. Well, you kind of gave everybody, uh, kind of how you got started. So I know that you have won a lot of awards and had a lot of achievements during your career, so why don't you tell the listeners about some of those awards and achievements that you've achieved throughout your career?

00:03:49.943 --> 00:04:07.020
> Alice Nelson>Yeah, absolutely. So, like I said, I've been foreman since I was around three years old, and I actually started winning awards when I was around 14, surprisingly, and it really has been shot up since. Some of my recent achievements were. Um.

00:04:07.663 --> 00:04:17.903
> Alice Nelson>Right now, um, actually, I'm up for, like, seven or, no, I'm sorry, 17 awards at the red carpet awards in Holland.

00:04:18.884 --> 00:04:27.704
> Alice Nelson>And, uh, that's this year. And then we. I'm up for a music video of the year for my song, it's you, not me, at the Elite Music awards.

00:04:28.244 --> 00:04:36.548
> Alice Nelson>I am also a nominee for the North American Country Music Awards, which is held here in pigeon board in March.

00:04:36.716 --> 00:04:39.692
> Alice Nelson>And, uh, we're up for seven different awards.

00:04:39.827 --> 00:05:15.903
> Alice Nelson>No, sorry, six different awards there. Entertainer of the year, vocalist of the year, band of the year, instrumentalist of the year, music video of the year, and songwriter of the year. So that's very exciting. Those are some of the recent things that I'm up for. Um, recently had just won best music video for my video. It's you, not me. Um, through the world songwriting awards. So that was pretty cool. Um, and then I'm a Josie music award nominee for last year. And I also just recently won, back in 2023, the North American Country Music Awards.

00:05:16.283 --> 00:05:20.624
> Alice Nelson>International's vocalist of the year and entertainer of the year.

00:05:22.204 --> 00:05:30.903
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Okay, well, speaking of that great song issue, not me, tell us what inspired that, how that came about it, and tell us about, uh, the video.

00:05:32.723 --> 00:05:37.983
> Alice Nelson>Yeah, absolutely. So it's you, not me. It kind of was inspired by a lot of different things.

00:05:38.483 --> 00:06:00.963
> Alice Nelson>Bad, uh, friendship gone wrong. Bad boyfriend gone wrong. You know, it was a lot of different situations. And, uh, I kind of just always have this feeling, you know, people say, oh, it's me, it's not you. And I had watched a couple different movies that related to me in that situation, and I was like, you know what? That's not true. It is indeed you. And it's not me.

00:06:01.084 --> 00:06:44.108
> Alice Nelson>So I came up with a title. It's you, not me. And I kind of just wrote, from the heart of what I've been through and what other friends have been through, and we kind of just went from there. I knew that creating the music video itself was very heartbreaking for me because I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted to be that kind of feeling where we went through you know, oh, this guy is absolutely in love with me. He acts like he is. Uh, and not necessarily is it just about a guy or a relationship. Like I said, it was bringing around friendships going wrong and relationships gone wrong, but we thought it would be a little bit more if we put it into a relationship style. So that's where I got Stephen Steiner to be involved and play as my boyfriend.

00:06:44.276 --> 00:07:20.014
> Alice Nelson>And it was just one of those scenes where we were like, oh, we absolutely love each other, and then found out he was cheating on me and not necessarily wanting to hate on the other girl. Didn't even know herself, so. But it was, you know, that's where I came up and I said, you know, it's you, not me. And, uh, it was a very fun music video shoot. I had a blast getting to film it. And at the very end, when you watch it, make sure everybody goes, check that out. Um, it was fun to film that part, too, because I got to throw some water in Stephen's face, and that was the best part of the entire thing.

00:07:22.153 --> 00:07:29.413
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>So tell us, Steve and Jade, what it was like. What was your experience participating in this video?

00:07:32.353 --> 00:08:07.591
> Stephen Steiner>Well, I mean, the water in the face was kind of, uh, cold, but it was actually. It was wonderful. I had a great experience, um, to be a part of something being so big and to be a part of, you know, people's lives that have been through the ups and downs just like anybody, and, um, can put it to film, you know, it's you, not me, instead of as you, you know, kind of thing. Uh, it was a wonderful experience. I had a blast. I mean, the first that we had done, uh, water cake for the first shot, so it was great. I didn't have to, uh, change more clothes.

00:08:07.767 --> 00:08:11.764
> Alice Nelson>Yeah. I made sure. I was like, okay, we gotta do this in one take. What about you, Jade?

00:08:12.290 --> 00:08:24.103
> Jade Booker>Um, so when Alice asked me to be a part of this, I was actually. I was actually at work one night. It was after her show, because, you know, she come in to see me at waffle House. So I was serving her table.

00:08:24.184 --> 00:08:26.363
> Jade Booker>She was like, would you like to be a part of this video?

00:08:27.209 --> 00:08:35.594
> Jade Booker>Uh, it took me just a little bit, and I agreed to it. And during the filming, I was. I was pretty nervous. I was just.

00:08:36.453 --> 00:08:47.899
> Jade Booker>I played with my hands a little bit because, you know, cameras make me pretty nervous, and yada, yada, yada. But, um, I'm not entirely too sure what to say.

00:08:47.899 --> 00:08:48.179
> Alice Nelson>Um.

00:08:50.374 --> 00:09:02.663
> Jade Booker>It was a first time experience, for sure. I would definitely do it again. Um, and I think it just brought everybody just a little closer together, and we all got to feel some things.

00:09:05.524 --> 00:09:23.903
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Okay, well, why don't you guys talk about your musical influences? Alice, you go first. Tell us about who inspires you and who you like to listen to to get your juices flowing. And Steve and Jade, if you have musical influences, tell the listeners about those as well.

00:09:25.024 --> 00:09:26.279
> Jade Booker>Yeah, for sure.

00:09:26.351 --> 00:09:43.644
> Alice Nelson>Yes. So, uh, my musical influences, I have so many. I love listening to all different genres, so. But mainly for the country scene. Uh, miss loretta Lynn and reba McIntyre, um, Ashton McBride. They're big influences of mine.

00:09:43.980 --> 00:09:46.724
> Alice Nelson>Um, those are some great people that I absolutely love.

00:09:47.104 --> 00:10:11.464
> Alice Nelson>And I, you know, I've met so many different artists in the industry, like Ryona Judd and all that, and those are some, um, Taylor Swift. I know she's kind of all over the genre, but I'm a swifty at heart. I love me from Taylor, and people think I write those, you know, love and hate songs. But, hey, that's what relates that. That's what we're gonna keep writing.

00:10:14.803 --> 00:10:19.144
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Okay. Steve and Jade, what about your musical influences?

00:10:21.203 --> 00:10:40.860
> Jade Booker>My musical influence, um, started when I was real little as well. I've always just loved music just by itself. Um, when I was in middle school, I picked up the flute. I did the marching band in high school. So I've been playing an instrument for about seven, eight years.

00:10:40.860 --> 00:10:45.303
> Jade Booker>Um, even after high school, sometimes I still mess around with it.

00:10:45.620 --> 00:10:51.327
> Jade Booker>Um, that's about it. Uh, my band director was.

00:10:51.456 --> 00:11:00.323
> Jade Booker>He was very hard on the band themselves. So I think that gave me the push to be as motivated as I am just in everyday life.

00:11:01.024 --> 00:11:02.524
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>What about you, Steve?

00:11:04.303 --> 00:11:21.994
> Stephen Steiner>So, uh, my dad was a drummer, so I kind of got the musical experience early in my life. Uh, so, uh, he was a big, big, big Dave Matthews band fan. Uh, I am myself. He influenced me. He had me, uh, come to my first concert. I think I was 23 years old.

00:11:22.580 --> 00:11:30.033
> Stephen Steiner>Uh, I played a little bit of the clarinet and the violin growing up, and then I started messing with the drums because of my dad.

00:11:30.840 --> 00:11:45.144
> Stephen Steiner>Um, but he took me to my first Dave Matthews band concert, and I was 23, and I had the most fun. And, you know, something that Dave Matthews does is he brings a lot of love to his shows.

00:11:45.923 --> 00:12:22.083
> Stephen Steiner>So I was big on that. And then way back when, you know, I have the tiger because I was a wrestler in high school, so that was another big, you know, adrenaline. And I just started pumping, you know, at that Lincoln park and, uh, kid rock, a bunch of different music, uh, genres, because I'm not really picky. Um, well, my biggest, I'd have to say, is the Dave Matthews band. I really. I love their music style, how they flow. It just. I don't know, it's just fluent with me. And so it just kind of inspired my life to live it the best way I can every day.

00:12:23.224 --> 00:12:27.543
> Stephen Steiner>And one of his songs is one of. I believe one of his songs is every day.

00:12:27.624 --> 00:12:27.919
> Alice Nelson>I, uh.

00:12:28.543 --> 00:12:37.394
> Stephen Steiner>I can't remember exact name of the song, but it was great. By Dave Matthews. So I love that guy. So he's my big inspiration.

00:12:38.333 --> 00:12:49.693
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Yeah, I see that you were, uh, a wrestler and that you had some success with that. You were also in the military. And, jade, you want to open up your own restaurant. So. So kind of.

00:12:49.734 --> 00:12:52.033
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Kind of tell us about that dream that you have.

00:12:53.053 --> 00:13:20.892
> Jade Booker>Yes, sir. Um, I just really enjoy cooking food for people. Um, whenever you get that compliment, when they're like, oh, this is the best thing I've had all day long. It just really makes me happy. So I think to be able to cook food that I enjoy to make, other than, you know, hash browns and eggs, um, I think that would put a little. A little joy in my heart just to share the things that I love with the people in the community, you know?

00:13:20.908 --> 00:13:22.943
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>What kind of restaurant you want to open up?

00:13:26.163 --> 00:13:27.244
> Alice Nelson>Just anything, really.

00:13:27.283 --> 00:13:37.096
> Jade Booker>I like the. The home style southern food, your pork chops, your meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, all kinds of stuff.

00:13:37.159 --> 00:13:38.216
> Alice Nelson>I feel like I would open a.

00:13:38.240 --> 00:13:44.043
> Jade Booker>Restaurant that had, like, a weekly change menu. Like, new stuff every week.

00:13:44.464 --> 00:13:45.683
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Absolutely.

00:13:46.783 --> 00:13:59.583
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>So tell us about any upcoming projects that you're working on that listeners need to know about. Alice and Steve and Jade. If you have any upcoming projects, let us know about those as well.

00:14:00.809 --> 00:14:22.884
> Jade Booker>Um, I am waiting for enrollment for school, so I can go to school for, um, business. I would like to learn the science behind business and everything like that before stepping into my own. Um, other than that, I'm just working and always trying to learn new things.

00:14:24.423 --> 00:14:47.620
> Stephen Steiner>So for me, uh, I'm actually going to school for game design. So, uh, but I want to not necessarily just do it for a game, you know, to make a game. I want to do it to try to help out in the medical field in some way, shape or form, you know, something that can help people with their hands or, you know, somewhere. I've always been big into the medical field.

00:14:47.620 --> 00:14:50.083
> Stephen Steiner>Uh, my brother had a stroke when he was three.

00:14:50.519 --> 00:15:04.679
> Stephen Steiner>Um, so he's a bit. A big inspiration on, you know, trying to help people, making a mark on this world, um, you know, and originally, that was becoming a neurosurgeon but my hands are not steady as they used to be, so I can't do that now.

00:15:04.751 --> 00:15:07.615
> Stephen Steiner>But what I can do is help her people.

00:15:07.720 --> 00:15:10.591
> Stephen Steiner>Help people for the future, you know, game, ah, design.

00:15:10.648 --> 00:15:24.673
> Stephen Steiner>I want to create a game that some way can help with. He's either, um, therapy, physical therapy, or something else. I'm just in the works of trying to think of how I'm going to do it.

00:15:26.653 --> 00:15:34.634
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Yeah. And I know you were also medically charged from the military as well, so I definitely understand your passion for the medical field.

00:15:35.094 --> 00:15:38.594
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Alice, what do you have going on that people need to know about?

00:15:39.894 --> 00:15:50.960
> Alice Nelson>Yeah. So, for me, you know, we are, at the moment, we are trying to get a lot of sponsorships up. We are taking yearly sponsorship to be able to travel more.

00:15:50.960 --> 00:16:05.183
> Alice Nelson>Um, we are going on the road a lot more this year. We, like I said, we are up for different awards and m forwards of the north american awards, and we'll be up there for a week or so, and that will be a red carpet event.

00:16:05.620 --> 00:16:30.514
> Alice Nelson>Um, after that, we are working on some more singles coming out and possibly an album. So we're, like I said, we're taking our yearly sponsorships up, trying to get everything situated to create that album and get more music out to all the fellow listeners and followers. And we're just, we're working as hard as we can, and we're traveling and we're playing anywhere and everywhere.

00:16:30.594 --> 00:16:38.053
> Alice Nelson>And we just, we have a lot of time that we, we want to make sure that music's involved in everything we do.

00:16:39.933 --> 00:16:45.953
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Well. So everybody can keep up with everything that you're up to, you and your band. Throw out your contact info.

So everybody can, you know, if your business would like to be mentioned when we're traveling on our band trailer, we're doing those right now as well. And, uh, you can email me at alice nelsonmusicmail.com.

00:17:18.630 --> 00:17:21.253

> Alice Nelson>So social media, uh, streaming platforms, anything like that. Like I said, it's Alice Nelson music. So y'all please definitely go check it out. We'd really appreciate it.

00:17:33.693 --> 00:17:42.183
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>All right, does anybody have any final thoughts for the listeners? Maybe if that was something I forgot to touch on? Any of you would like to talk about or just any final thoughts?

00:17:44.124 --> 00:17:46.332
> Alice Nelson>No. Do y'all have anything?

00:17:46.508 --> 00:18:15.433
> Alice Nelson>No, I will. Yeah. I do have one thing I would like to say. Um. Um, the music video, uh, when we go up to pigeon Forge, like I said, it's up for the north american country music award. It's you, not me, music video of the year. And, um, um, I would just like to give a shout out to David Balderson and Adam Cooper, who were in the music video. My drummer, my guitarist, who had passed away about six months ago now.

00:18:15.594 --> 00:18:20.653
> Alice Nelson>And, um, that I would just like, you know, prayers and everything for them and their families.

00:18:20.953 --> 00:18:27.049
> Alice Nelson>That that award, we are, you know, saying in honor of them, if we win.

00:18:27.122 --> 00:18:29.993
> Alice Nelson>So we're just hoping for all that and safe travels.

00:18:30.153 --> 00:18:34.013
> Alice Nelson>And if y'all watch the video, y'all see at the ending where we said in honor of them.
