00:00:29.914 --> 00:00:42.414
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Today we're going to be talking about self discovery and transformation as I am joined by Psych K registered coach Adelaida Child.

00:00:42.755 --> 00:01:04.263
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Adelaida got on her journey as she started out in the corporate world but she faced burnout and, but she was able to bounce back from that and now she's helping others. So we're going to be talking to her about her journey, everything that she's up to and what it means to be Psych K registered. So Adelaida, thank you so much for joining me today.

00:01:04.438 --> 00:01:07.995
> Speaker B>Hi Curtis, thank you so much for having me here today.

00:01:08.814 --> 00:01:12.075
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Well, why don't you start off by telling everybody a little bit about yourself.

00:01:13.334 --> 00:02:06.245
> Speaker B>Sure. So I teach individuals around the world um, how to quickly and efficiently break free from limiting beliefs, stress and any roadblocks so they can unlock their full potential by using um, neuroscience based processes. By reprogramming mind they can create the life they dreamed of and whatever it means. Overcoming personal challenges, enhancing relationships, um, working with abundance or achieving career goals. However, my journey did not start that easy and fun. My journey started with burnout and it was complete disaster.

00:02:06.984 --> 00:02:28.205
> Speaker B>So I am a living proof that you can start from zero and build yourself up. From burnout to amazing work to amazing relationships and to just living your living your dream. So now I'll guide others to do what I did.

00:02:30.544 --> 00:02:37.925
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Okay, so a psych certified Psych K registered instructor. Explain to the listeners what that is.

00:02:38.745 --> 00:02:57.905
> Speaker B>So. Well let me first start with this Psych K. Psych K is a uh, proven method to reprogram subconscious mind, um, mind that actually is respons responsible for many beliefs that we carry inside of us.

00:02:58.284 --> 00:04:15.585
> Speaker B>Psyche was created about 36 years ago by Rob Williams. He uh, was certified marriage counselor therapist and he discovered that modality and later he um, he was teaching it around the world and now there are instructors. Actually there are, There are about 29 instruct in the world. So I am blessed to be one of them. And what I do, I do teach uh, workshops that are online and in person uh, around the world. Not uh, only here in Los Angeles area where I live but also in um, Sedona, beautiful in Arizona place and also in Europe. And Psych K is this fantastic modality that allows person who uses it to reprogram any type of stress and any type of uh, even trauma. Uh, because Often stress holds us back from becoming who we, who we are really are inside.

00:04:16.245 --> 00:04:20.024
> Speaker B>So that would be the long story short.

00:04:21.795 --> 00:04:25.375
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>So what do you have to do to get actually certified in psych K?

00:04:25.995 --> 00:05:11.824
> Speaker B>Ah, ah, that's a wonderful question. So first of all, you do have to, for two years, um, have your own practice, personal practice, where you help people to overcome their limitations. I started as a health coach and a life coach when, when I was going through my practice and working with other people, I was missing something, like missing a tool that I really could use that would help my clients. And by searching different tools, I found psych K. So that allowed me to really, to take my clients to another level.

00:05:12.564 --> 00:05:54.865
> Speaker B>And when I worked with psych K for about two years, I looked at the, uh, what is the step to become instructor and start teaching it? Because I truly believe that anyone should have this modality on their, for their own purposes. Not only coaches and health coaches or life coaches, but truly everyday person. If we would have tools that help us to overcome stress daily, that you don't need to have a, you know, coach or you don't need to have, uh, someone that will help you to motivate you, but something to, that you have in your literally pocket. Right.

00:05:55.165 --> 00:06:05.904
> Speaker B>And, and use it anytime that you feel stressed or you actually discovered something about yourself that you were blocking, like believing that you're not good enough.

00:06:06.204 --> 00:06:23.024
> Speaker B>And so once I was um, um, ready for that, I applied and I was able to, to, to become one of the instructors. That was a beautiful, beautiful route to, uh, to become one of them. Yeah.

00:06:24.875 --> 00:06:39.055
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>So kind of walk the listeners through your career before this and then tell us about your experience with burnout and what you did to overcome it and how listeners give us some tips of what we can do to overcome burnout.

00:06:39.355 --> 00:07:00.615
> Speaker B>Okay, so my burnout happened in 2010 when I found myself being fired from my job that I actually didn't like anyway. And then I finished, um, another relationship that was a disaster.

00:07:01.194 --> 00:07:56.166
> Speaker B>And then I found myself broke. So of course three things at the same time happened when basically the only option was to go back to live with my parents. So imagine being 27 and you have to go back and live with your parents. And so the time allowed me to really stop and listen or stop and see what have I been doing. So I believe that the burnout or depression or, you know, it's actually opportunity that will allow you to really stop, stop what you've been doing because it's not serving you. So, so during the time when I spent with my Parents. I started to go on self discovery. I started to ask questions.

00:07:56.271 --> 00:08:28.016
> Speaker B>What happened? And I was shocked because I thought that uh, my life should go well. I finished private college where I was um, master. I'm sorry, I, um. When I was working with the um, banking and um, that was really good career. That's what I thought. However, I did not know that this is not what I want to do.

00:08:28.120 --> 00:09:04.455
> Speaker B>Sitting in front of computers and digits was not something that was agreeing with me. So. So everything finished with. Basically I crashed and burned. And so I picked up this one book and I know it's a cliche, but it's called Awakening by Anthony Demolo. And somewhere there was written that I create my own reality. And at first I was really angry because like what do you mean I create my own reality? I didn't want to create all of that.

00:09:05.794 --> 00:09:16.394
> Speaker B>And I was blaming. First I was blaming um, my boss, my, my part. I was blaming everyone but myself.

00:09:17.095 --> 00:09:29.154
> Speaker B>However, when I stopped gaming of blame, I started to think about, well if I created it, then actually I can recreate it.

00:09:29.575 --> 00:09:31.914
> Speaker B>So how do I recreate this?

00:09:32.975 --> 00:10:08.735
> Speaker B>And I went on a mission, literally on a mission to start to see how do I create this reality. And I learned uh, during that time that I do create the reality with not only my actions, but with my thoughts and within my emotions and especially with the thoughts that are based in my beliefs. So what does it mean to. To create reality with my beliefs?

00:10:09.205 --> 00:10:29.705
> Speaker B>It's. So then I picked up another book that was written by Joseph Murphy, and it's called Power of the Subconscious Mind. And then I learned that actually all my thoughts and beliefs are in um, my subconscious mind.

00:10:30.284 --> 00:10:38.125
> Speaker B>So if I want to change something in my life, I need to get access to that part of our mind.

00:10:38.705 --> 00:10:50.164
> Speaker B>And I said, okay, let me learn about that. So then I became um, a health coach and a life coach. And I learned about motivation.

00:10:50.664 --> 00:10:53.592
> Speaker B>I learned about uh, affirmations.

00:10:53.729 --> 00:10:56.284
> Speaker B>I've learned about positive thinking.

00:10:56.585 --> 00:11:19.125
> Speaker B>And yet it was really difficult to motivate my clients and uh, motivate them in a way so they can stay motivated because they would start. You know, I think many people can relate that we start with this amazing attitude and then after a week or two it's just not working for us.

00:11:19.424 --> 00:11:28.524
> Speaker B>So, so first I was okay, maybe I am not trained enough. Maybe I have to do more training.

00:11:28.945 --> 00:11:55.917
> Speaker B>So I went and uh, I did more TR Trainings and um, more uh, different modalities. And I've learned that actually if we want to access the subconscious mind, we need to Use special tools. So tools probably you know and uh, your uh, listener nurse know like hypnosis.

00:11:56.100 --> 00:12:47.250
> Speaker B>I learned how to do self hypnosis, neuro linguistics and so on. And yes I did get my uh, results better. My clients also had better results but it was still not good enough. Um, and after some time it was, I think it was five years in my journey when I discovered this modality Psych K. And I there was this one of those days on the YouTube rabbit holes where I saw the M seminar of Rob Williams and actually he showed me on that during that, that, that seminar that he's able to change beliefs within few seconds to few minutes. And I was shocked because I believed.

00:12:47.403 --> 00:13:06.533
> Speaker B>Here we go. I believed that it's really difficult to do any changes that it's very. You have to take, you have, it has to take time and effort and it's painful. Uh, and now this Rob Williams is showing me that he can do this limiting belief change within a few seconds.

00:13:06.708 --> 00:13:26.304
> Speaker B>So, so to me it was unbelievable and actually I went into anger again and I closed my computer and I said no, this is impossible. However, after a few months I finally decided to give it a try and I did my first workshop.

00:13:26.884 --> 00:13:58.825
> Speaker B>And I have to tell you Curtis, after first workshop not only my life changed but immediately when I started to work with this amazing um, modality life of my clients started to shift and they would tell me that one session with psych K helped them more than 10 or 15 years of therapies. So it was just amazing, amazing job journey.

00:13:58.985 --> 00:15:10.664
> Speaker B>Actually I left everything behind. I left coaching behind of just life coaching and health coaching and I stopped just I start doing just psyche. And until now we have amazing um, I have amazing results with my clients. So this was again long story short but of course it always starts with us. So it helped me to truly find my passion and I now I know that being Psyche instructor is my passion. Giving this amazing tool to a person is something that gives me amazing joy and I don't feel like it's work but also I was able to work with my challenges like financial abundance, um, and the relationships. I found amazing men and um, when before I was struggling with relationships and I discovered that if I change my limiting beliefs in the subconscious mind I'm able to truly change anything with ease and efficiency.

00:15:12.884 --> 00:15:30.235
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Well talk about how listeners can the uh, importance for people to be able to identify and change unhealthy coping mechanisms and also talk about some of the unhealthy coping mechanisms that you had. Now you overcame them.

00:15:30.610 --> 00:15:40.914
> Speaker B>Mhm. Thank you for talking about that. Yes. So have you ever heard about functional, uh, alcoholism?

00:15:44.254 --> 00:16:49.873
> Speaker B>If not, then let me tell you about it. It's really very innocent. It's that drink after work that you have, that glass of wine that you have, and then you just. The next day you wake up, you go to work, then come back, and then after dinner, you have another glass of wine, and it changes. I mean, changes. It doesn't change. So then you found yourself that actually you drink every day. And I found myself actually drinking every day. And I didn't see it as a problem until actually I realized that I don't have the same energy in the morning. That instead of working on, um, the feeling 100%, I felt like 80%. And then I asked myself, okay, well, how about I just stopped doing that? And the morning I said, okay, I'm not going to drink tonight.

00:16:49.969 --> 00:17:31.276
> Speaker B>And then after work, I would come home and then I would say, like, you know what? I deserve this glass of wine. Or. And I just had this glass of wine. And then the next morning, like, oh, that was a bad idea. Now tonight, I will definitely not have this glass of wine. I don't have to. And then I found myself actually drinking every day. And I bet that many listeners can relate when we. We will say that, yes, I drink because it relaxes me, it makes me feel better. I don't have to work. Uh, I'm sorry, I don't have to think about the day. I don't have to think about my problems.

00:17:31.420 --> 00:17:46.075
> Speaker B>And even during the social gatherings, we're more social, we are more talkative, we are more relaxed. So basically, I found all these reasons to cope with the challenges that I've had. And.

00:17:46.234 --> 00:18:08.464
> Speaker B>And, um, because in our society, alcohol is so widely accepted that there is. People don't see the problem in that. However, I started to see it. You know, it is a problem. It is a problem. And that started, when I think about it, it started a long time ago, but because it was so accepted.

00:18:08.585 --> 00:18:11.328
> Speaker B>It is so accepted, it's not a problem.

00:18:11.416 --> 00:18:22.525
> Speaker B>Right. However, when do we find it when it's a problem? When it start affecting us, when it start affecting our family, when it start affecting, uh, our work?

00:18:22.825 --> 00:19:28.461
> Speaker B>However, it never affected my family or my work, uh, in a way that was so painful, if you know what I mean. Because when we think about alcohol, alcoholism, that someone who cannot function. And it's far from the truth, actually, most people who drink alcohol, they function really well. It's behind the closed doors when they have that glass or two glasses of wine, they are coping with something. And those coping mechanism, one of them, which is alcohol. It's a really good way if you don't have a better way. So I started to think about, okay, so what benefits it brings me and how can I change those benefits, uh, into positive things in my life. So actually I had to create beliefs that are giving me more opportunities to cope in a healthy ways with whatever it comes, uh, in my way.

00:19:28.613 --> 00:20:10.007
> Speaker B>So I would have to basically create beliefs that I reward myself with, um, going for a walk or I reward myself with reading a book or I had to believe that actually I have more fun when I'm sober during the parties. I am, uh, more relaxed when I'm sober. Right. And so creating all of these beliefs and bringing them on the subconscious level allowed me to completely quit alcohol and change my life in a way that I can actually enjoy life much better than with a glass of wine.

00:20:10.111 --> 00:20:23.070
> Speaker B>So, so this is really incredible, um, achievement, I believe. And especially because I'm originally from Poland, where in Poland actually you celebrate everything with a shot of vodka.

00:20:23.143 --> 00:20:42.105
> Speaker B>It's completely normal when you celebrate family meetings, gatherings and so on. So it's really part of the culture. So it was also interesting to see how I've changed when I changed my habits, like unhealthy coping with alcohol.

00:20:42.569 --> 00:20:43.450
> Speaker B>Mhm.

00:20:44.164 --> 00:20:53.381
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>What? Tell, tell the listeners how, uh, they can recognize signs of burnout. What are some of the signs that they can know? Okay, I'm getting burnout here.

00:20:53.532 --> 00:21:26.434
> Speaker B>Okay. Well, basically when you finish work and you come home and you're exhausted and maybe you were sitting in a whole day in front of the computer or you were just talking to your clients, or both, but when, when uh, when you come home, you felt, you feel like you've done so much and you used so much energy that there is nothing left for you. There is nothing left for your friends, for your family.

00:21:26.855 --> 00:22:01.234
> Speaker B>And this is one of the biggest signs, um, of bur. Another one. When you don't feel excited going to work, when you don't feel excited to starting your day is just, it feels like a drag. It feels like this is something that is just very heavy. It's a heavy feeling when basically you just feel like you don't care when you are already there. This is the biggest sign for yourself, to yourself, that this is something that it doesn't agree with you.

00:22:01.759 --> 00:22:13.391
> Speaker B>Um, being at work, not, not having, you know, not being in mood to do just everyday tasks is another, another big sign.

00:22:13.583 --> 00:22:23.634
> Speaker B>So think about it and answer, answer those questions. Am I tired? But tired to the point that you have no energy after you work.

00:22:24.785 --> 00:22:32.484
> Speaker B>If it's the question is yes, that's first big red flag number two. Are you excited to go to work?

00:22:33.025 --> 00:23:01.221
> Speaker B>If the answer is no, that's another red flag. And how is your mood during the work day? Because remember, we spend at least eight hours at work. So if you are all the time in the bed mode, that's another huge sign that you are burned out from your work. And this is something that does not serve you. It does not serve your soul and your purpose. So here's the thing. You have two choices.

00:23:01.413 --> 00:23:24.932
> Speaker B>One choice is to stop and think about if this is something that you want to do till the, till your retirement. Because you have a choice to stay and feel the way you feel and go get worse or actually allowed the universe to take care of this.

00:23:25.068 --> 00:23:27.424
> Speaker B>Like it happened with me, I got fired.

00:23:27.845 --> 00:24:42.944
> Speaker B>And when I was burnout and I was blaming the other person, the uh, my boss, my co workers, however, imagine that if they see you every day and you're cranky, you're not team player, you're in bad moods, then guess what's going to happen? The you will get fired. So you can choose to actually change directions and ask you okay, I ask yourself, okay, what shall I do? Should I stay? Or should I look for something that resonates with me? Or wait until something happened or nothing happens. But remember, we are and you are a captain of your ship, right? And if you decide uh, to change the course but you are in control, you will change it with empowerment. However, if you going to let go of the steering wheel, basically you are allowing other people to make choices for you about your life. So being a captain of your ship is the beautiful thing to do.

00:24:44.785 --> 00:24:50.525
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Tell us about any current or upcoming projects that you're working on that listeners need to be aware of.

00:24:52.585 --> 00:25:24.317
> Speaker B>Oh yes, right now I'm working on creating a um, um workshop that is going to take place um, in Sedona. Sedona is this beautiful place full of um, amazing energy that is very spiritually I would say, um, connected. There are some vortexes, there are some amazing hiking places.

00:25:24.381 --> 00:25:35.424
> Speaker B>However, I would say this is a place if you are on a spiritual journey and discovering journey. It's something that it's a, It's a place that anyone should visit.

00:25:35.765 --> 00:25:45.944
> Speaker B>So I'm creating for the first time there the basic workshop psyche basic workshop where for. For about uh, 11 people.

00:25:46.914 --> 00:26:44.384
> Speaker B>And during that workshop I will teach people about how to change limiting beliefs, how to overcome burnout, how to Overcome, um, any stress and, um, teach about the differences between conscious and subconscious mind. Because I think people, most people don't understand that that part of the subconscious mind that nobody really talks about is responsible for most of our life. And during that workshop I will be teaching everything from the basics. So this will happen, um, uh, soon, in this month. And I believe, because there's a, ah, huge, huge interest, we almost sold out. I believe that I will be doing this workshop every three to four months. So I'm excited about that project.

00:26:45.765 --> 00:26:48.684
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Well, so everybody can keep up with everything that you're up to.

00:26:48.724 --> 00:26:50.345
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Throw out your contact information.

00:26:51.244 --> 00:27:35.444
> Speaker B>The best way to contact me is through my website is adachild uh.comad.com and they can find all the informations, um, about subconscious mind, about neuroscience that is connected to limiting beliefs, and about workshops. And also I have a wonderful gift that is a free ebook to our list to your listeners and that actually helps people to discover their limitation that holds them back from reaching their, um, success in their lives.

00:27:37.305 --> 00:27:46.664
> Curtis Jackson (also known as DJ Curveball)>Okay, @achild.com we'll close this out with some final thoughts. Maybe if that was something I forgot to talk about that you would like to touch on or any thought you have for the listeners.

00:27:47.565 --> 00:28:22.404
> Speaker B>Any final thought. Just a, uh, reminder that we are creators of our lives. We do create our reality, whether we are conscious of it or unconscious of it. If we are conscious of it, then we have to start paying attention to what we think about ourselves, what we think about life and what we think about the world. And once we pay attention to our thoughts, we will actually start our journey into becoming the best version of ourselves.

00:28:24.265 --> 00:28:26.528
