00:00:00.800 --> 00:00:56.560
> Curtis Jackson>Welcome, to the Living the Dream podcast with Curveball. If you believe you can achieve. Welcome to the Living the Dream with Curveball podcast, a show where I interview guests that teach, motivate and inspire. Today, I am joined by award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist, Bridget Donahoe. Bridget has been featured in several magazines and she's had several radio singles, been featured in several podcasts, and she's from Michigan and travels around with her family doing her ministry, spreading, good word. So we're going to be talking to Bridget about everything that she's up to and going to be up to and about her ministry and her music. So, Bridget, thank you for joining me.

00:01:00.000 --> 00:01:02.960
> Curtis Jackson>Why don't you start off by telling everybody a little bit about yourself?

00:01:04.159 --> 00:01:18.790
> Bridget Donahoe>Well, I am a wife, a mom, a homeschool mom, and then my kids go part time as well, so we're very busy with different sports and all of that. I'm also a songwriter and a worship leader and a recording artist. So we're on the road a lot.

00:01:18.879 --> 00:01:28.829
> Bridget Donahoe>we're going back and forth. We're trying to fit it all in and balance it all. And, you know, life's a balancing act. So that's a little bit about my life right now in this stage that I'm at.

00:01:29.950 --> 00:01:34.390
> Curtis Jackson>All right, well, tell us how you got into music, in the first place.

00:01:35.829 --> 00:02:21.610
> Bridget Donahoe>Well, I feel like I came out of my mom's womb singing. You know, I've always loved music. I've always been inspired by music. And I started writing songs, when I was younger and I put it down. You know, I didn't really. I felt like I didn't have a lot of time for it. And I didn't really take the time and the effort because it takes a lot of time and effort to songwrite and to be a musician professionally. So I kind of put it down for a while. And then I remember we had, after I got married, we had this event at our, Well, a weekly event at our church where we had a college and career night. And they needed a worship leader. And my husband, we'd been married for about a year at the time, and he didn't even know that I played guitar. He knew that I sang.

00:02:21.770 --> 00:02:24.810
> Bridget Donahoe>But, you know, I said, you know, I play acoustic.

00:02:25.289 --> 00:03:15.409
> Bridget Donahoe>I can see what I can do, try to help out. And from then on, I was the worship leader for those evenings and started songwriting, picked it back up and just really fell in love with the art of songwriting. And I started wanting to record my own songs from there. And so I Got in touch with some people and just really went full circle into what I had been doing when I was younger and started pursuing it passionately as an adult. And then we started having kids and started incorporating the kids into the ministry and the music so that they. They help out with the merch table, they help out with all the things. My youngest or my oldest is right now is learning the bass. So we're really trying to balance, the whole family road life and, you know, just do it with excellence.

00:03:17.729 --> 00:03:20.129
> Curtis Jackson>Absolutely. Sounds like you're doing a great job.

00:03:20.289 --> 00:03:27.259
> Curtis Jackson>So let's talk about, some of the radio singles that, you know, you've had on the radio. You know, kind of tell the listeners about those.

00:03:28.060 --> 00:04:09.009
> Bridget Donahoe>Yeah, well, I've had some Christian radio singles that have gone and done really well. my song Savior is a Christmas song and that went and did really well on radio. I also had a song that I put to AC radio that was a love song that I wrote for my brother's wedding and that charted, that did top 10 on the country charts when it was released about five years ago. And I actually have a single that's gonna be coming out that's going to radio right now and that is called Best of Friends. And I wrote that for my husband. We've been married for 21 years and it's just a little bit about our journey and falling in love as high school sweethearts. So that's coming out officially next month right before Valentine's Day.

00:04:10.780 --> 00:04:12.860
> Curtis Jackson>All right, well, congratulations on that.

00:04:13.500 --> 00:04:14.060
> Bridget Donahoe>Thank you.

00:04:14.460 --> 00:04:26.949
> Curtis Jackson>You know, tell us about, the shows that you've also been featured on. You've been featured on a lot of them. So kind of tell us about the shows and what they are and maybe if people can go check them out.

00:04:27.509 --> 00:04:36.149
> Bridget Donahoe>Absolutely. I think a lot of them are still currently on YouTube, but I've been on, CTN. I've been on TCT, the show. I'm just saying. The M.

00:04:36.149 --> 00:04:48.699
> Bridget Donahoe>Emmy nominated show. I'm just saying. I've been on that two times. I have been on A Night of Miracles with Benny Hinn with Impact Television Network for their revival services, and that was televised.

00:04:49.579 --> 00:04:56.089
> Bridget Donahoe>And I've also been on. I, can't think of the name of the station in Ohio, but a few other stations.

00:04:58.810 --> 00:05:01.420
> Curtis Jackson>Well, what magazines have, you been featured in?

00:05:03.879 --> 00:05:24.079
> Bridget Donahoe>I have been in recently Worship Musician, which has over a million subscribers. So I've been in that magazine. I've been on the COVID of, Not Going Home with Beth Moore a few years ago. And three in one magazine. I was on the COVID of that about six years ago.

00:05:27.370 --> 00:05:37.139
> Curtis Jackson>Okay, well, let's talk about some of your biggest influences. whether they be big or small, you know, who influences you to do what you do.

00:05:38.680 --> 00:06:38.810
> Bridget Donahoe>my biggest influence would be the Lord. I feel like I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for him. I feel like my songs are really inspired by him, by the Holy Spirit. And I really just want that to be the center focus of everything that I do, whether that is contemporary Christian music, whether that's worship music, whether that is love, songs, you know, Because I believe that everything in your life is an act of worship, that your life in general should be reflecting that if you are a believer and you're walking with the Lord. So he's my greatest influence. And then I also, you know, Whitney Houston, Reba McEntire, and, Gwen Stefani actually is one of my greatest influences. When I was younger, I remember being 11 years old wanting to be Gwen Stefani. And it's so interesting that, because when I was younger, I was really like punk rock and, like, you know, just really into that scene. And it's really funny now that she does country music, and so it's like, it feels like I've kind of grown up with her.

00:06:40.819 --> 00:06:44.180
> Curtis Jackson>Absolutely. Love, Gwen Stefani. Yes.

00:06:44.339 --> 00:06:59.230
> Curtis Jackson>So I know you talked about your song, your single you got coming out around Valentine's Day. But, do you have any, full projects, coming out here in the future? If you do, kind of talk about them and talk about the inspiration and tell the listeners about them?

00:07:00.370 --> 00:08:09.449
> Bridget Donahoe>the only project that I have coming out right now is Best of Friends, the single. I, I plan to go back in the studio and do a few more songs this year. I have a few songs that just came out a few months ago that are available right now for downloading and streaming. And one of them is called One God, and that's a contemporary worship song. And it just talks about, the Trinity and, you know, just the three in one mystery of the Godhead. And then the other song is Through His Eyes. And I wrote that when I just feel like a lot of the time we have a lot of political unrest and a lot. I mean, we absolutely do. And as believers and as Christians, it's just very important to show the love of Christ, no matter what end of the spectrum you fall on, that you have to be kind, that you have to walk in love. And so that song is about seeing others through the eyes of Jesus and How would he treat other people? How would he impact, engage? How would he. If he was here today, how would he respond? So that's called Through His Eyes, and it's. I love the song, so I pray that you guys go and listen to it.

00:08:10.970 --> 00:08:15.098
> Curtis Jackson>Well, is there anything else that you're working on, that listeners need to be aware of?

00:08:16.110 --> 00:08:34.339
> Bridget Donahoe>just the single that's coming out, and I'm. I'm really excited about it. It's going to be out for Valentine's Day, and it's very. It's different than anything I've released. It's a pop, country so song, and so it doesn't sound like anything I've ever done. And it's really fun and really just upbeat and uplifting.

00:08:36.019 --> 00:08:42.389
> Curtis Jackson>Well, throw out your contact info, so listeners can keep up with everything that you're up to and tell us where we can find your music.

00:08:43.349 --> 00:09:01.019
> Bridget Donahoe>Yes. So I'm on Spotify, Apple, on all the social media. I'm on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Bridget Donahoe anywhere. And then Bridget donahoe.com is my website, so you can just reach out there in the contact form and I'd love to hear from you.

00:09:02.299 --> 00:09:04.100
> Curtis Jackson>We'll close this out with some final thoughts.

00:09:04.100 --> 00:09:09.259
> Curtis Jackson>Maybe if that was something I forgot to talk about, that you would like to touch on any final thoughts you have for the listener?

00:09:10.500 --> 00:09:30.259
> Bridget Donahoe>not really. I think we touched on. Touched on everything. I would just say, you know, I am very blessed to be able to do what I do and, you know, don't take small beginnings for granted. You know, continue. If you have something that the Lord has given you and you feel like you should be doing it, just go for it and see how he expands upon it.

00:09:32.019 --> 00:09:35.299
> Curtis Jackson>All right, so Bridget down the ho. Com, is that right?

00:09:35.940 --> 00:09:36.419
