I am PJ Jones, and my story begins with deep generational trauma. I am a product of abuse—born from the violence my mother endured. Growing up in a home of neglect, alcoholism, and abuse, I was never given a space to feel seen, safe, or accepted.
At 16, I fell into the hands of a man 7 years my senior, beginning an abusive, controlling, and narcissistic relationship that lasted over a decade. By my late 20s, I had finally broken free, but the wounds remained. I poured everything I had into raising my children, believing that being a good mother was my redemption.
Then, in 2017, my world shattered. I lost my oldest son to gun violence. It was a pain so deep, I didn’t think I’d ever recover. But that loss also sparked a turning point—I realized I had to heal, not just for myself, but for the people I love and for others who are still trapped in silence.
Now, I stand as a survivor. I’ve done the hard work of healing and rebuilding. I became a Holistic Motivational Empowerment Strategist, certified NLP Practitioner, life coach, and author of A Place to Belong, a book that shares my story and shines a light on trauma, healing, and the power of reclaiming our lives.
My mission is to break the silence on trauma and show others that no matter how deep the pain runs, healing and hope are possible.
