Welcome And Meet Inez Moon

SPEAKER_04

Hey y'all, hey, you are watching and listening to Lakes Between the Lines. I am your host, Lex, and I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you that we are not gonna stay between the lines today because the author that we have on all signs point forward, baby. I went in blind, and let's just say you'll see what I mean once we start talking about it. But I am going to let this author introduce herself and tell us about herself. How did we start this book journey? So, Miss Moon.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, ma'am. Okay, everybody. So I am Inez Moon. I am a 42-year-old mother originally from Brooklyn, New York. Um, I have out two reads right now. I have All Signs Point Forward, which is my debut novel, and then I have a novella that I wrote for Pragma, which is uh called Shared Hunger. It's LGBTQIA plus erotic stories. It's three stories, a very short read, only 34 pages. And when I mean the spice is there. So if you're afraid of spice, I say don't, don't, don't walk that line. Okay. Don't go pick up that book because then y'all gonna want to talk about me. And I'm gonna be here for all of it because I like all the comments, well, good, bad, ugly, indifferent. So that is it, that is all. But yeah, that's pretty much that's pretty much all about me. Well, you get into the mess whenever you're ready, Lex.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on, because you said this was 34 pages, and it was uh it's erotic.

SPEAKER_00

Look at me from the so it's three short three short stories. So the first one is everybody touching everybody, a husband and wife, and she gets back to the villa from her birthday dinner, and he has two gorgeous men just sitting there waiting for her, everybody touching everybody. The second one is about a lesbian couple who are looking for their third, and they have been watching this girl at the strip club for a very long time. And when they bring her home, all types of good sparks fly. And then the third one is the one that pretty much gooped and gagged everybody. It is a trans male that is a cam star, and he links up with uh husband and wife who are both pansexual, but there's a twist at the end of that story that has gooped and gagged everybody. So you must read to find out. So if you're into that type of shenanigans, I say go on touch 34 of my pages.

SPEAKER_04

The fact that you this sounds like 10 pages of just one story already off the description. How are we just 34 pages? You're gonna you're gonna piss us off on we're gonna get into it.

SPEAKER_00

No, people have told me like outright. I've had people inbox me and tell me that they actually got a plot within those three stories. Like every

Shared Hunger And Short Spicy Stories

SPEAKER_00

story has some form of something.

SPEAKER_04

So they wanted more. Did they want more of any story?

SPEAKER_00

They did, they did, and one of them is uh the story with Kimber and Olivia. That story is a continuation, which will be in another one of my books that's coming up.

SPEAKER_04

Because I'm sure writing this, putting this in, so I can go and spook that up next.

SPEAKER_00

It's only 34 pages, a little palette cleanser, a little nasty palette cleanser. That's what you're into.

SPEAKER_04

I was just gonna say a palette cleanser, a nasty one.

SPEAKER_00

I had I had to re-root for a second, I had to bring it in.

unknown

I had to bring it in.

SPEAKER_00

So, yes, that's that's what it is.

SPEAKER_04

So, for listeners, because all signs point forward is your debut, right? So, for listeners and people who absolutely do not know you, um, what would you like us to know about you just starting your journey?

SPEAKER_00

Um, so I used to write all the time when I was young. Um, I at the time I had a very religious mother and I used to write horror. So she just went straight into it. She, you know, this is demonic. I don't are you crazy, girl. What's wrong with you? Like, so I had got kind of like a little sidetracked from that. So I had put writing in my back pocket and I decided to go other right. So I went into print modeling, runway, makeup artistry. I went that direction because that was another thing that I was very interested in. Because I call myself Inez of all traits. So if you read All Stars Point Forward, you know that Savannah has a chapter called Savannah of All Traits, because Savannah does a little bit of everything. When I tell people about the book, I tell them, listen, Savannah is me, I'm Savannah. There's a lot of truth in my story. So I just dove into something else. And then when I got older, I was like, I really want to write this book. Like, I really want to write this book. And I started in 2023 when I was going through leaving my husband. And I was like, I could do this, I could do this. And as soon as I started writing, I was like, I can't do this because I had put so much of my hurt onto the pages, and I was like, I can't do this like this because it was almost a memoir at that part. Like it wasn't, you know, something that I wanted to kind of make fun and healing for myself. So I put it to the back burner and I didn't touch it again until 2026. Early 2026. Well, no, I'm lying, late 2025. So I started back, I touched it again right after Thanksgiving in 2025. Then I released in uh 2026.

SPEAKER_04

Baby, that was my next question. How did we get to this point of the book? And I'm glad you said you said you were going through you. See, everything just kind of coming together. How you said, so this book, so are you Savannah?

SPEAKER_00

I am Savannah. I just gave Savannah a couple of extra things that you know that I didn't do, but you know, to make a good story. But I did, I am Savannah. Well, I've been saying this since the very first interview. I am Savannah, and Savannah is me. When you look at me, I'm a plus size female, I got sister lots, I have a bunch of tattoos, I am Savannah. Like, and I just wrote a story around some of my experiences and just you know added some spice to it and some life lessons and things like that. Just to make a good in my eyes, but I think it's a good story.

SPEAKER_04

You know, I said I'm nosy as hell.

SPEAKER_00

Get nosy, girl, get nosy with me.

SPEAKER_04

Lawrence. I had to make sure that I I say his name right with his ball heads. Your husband was Lawrence. Because I know. Did you have a Mar, uh boy, what was her name? Margie. Because I will Marisol.

SPEAKER_00

So Marisol is actually depicted after one of my friends that I love dearly. Like I love her dearly.

SPEAKER_04

And if I ever was decided, not Marie, because we love Marie. What was the trifling sister name?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, Marley. Oh.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Marley, yeah, Marley was actually based off of a friend. An ex-friend. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

She hang out with your man.

SPEAKER_02

Girl.

SPEAKER_03

It was still in your face.

SPEAKER_02

Still in my face.

SPEAKER_03

What the hell?

SPEAKER_02

Did she get pregnant by him too? No. That was added on. That was added on.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

That was added on.

SPEAKER_04

Because I was gonna say, I got some bail money where you still need to be whooping on her.

SPEAKER_00

I know. But no, honestly, I did add some extra to it just for the story. I was really speaking. Lawrence was well, real life Lawrence was not that bad. He was bad, but he was not that bad. I definitely, I yeah, he wasn't that bad. I had to add on something, you know, extra. So I will I will always put that out there. He was he was a terrible husband in certain ways, but he wasn't that bad. He was a cheater, but not a beater or um, you know, uh emotional abuse. You know, he definitely dug me down into a hole at some point to where I couldn't even look in the mirror. It was kind of like bad for a while. Like I would pass mirrors without looking at him. And

Returning To Writing After Years

SPEAKER_00

I I like to dress, I like to put on clothes. That's why I said it's a man as me. I like my I like to look away. And it was a point in my life where I was coming out the house with straight, like just regular house dresses and crops, and I did not care. Like I just didn't care, I didn't care about my hair, I didn't care about my appearance. I just was so low at that point that I just was like, listen, girl, you got to bring yourself up out of this. Like you, if you gotta fight tooth and nail to get up out of this, you gotta get up out of this because this is not you. This is not how you were raised to look or to treat yourself, to behave within yourself at all. So I literally had to fight tooth and nail within that relationship to build myself back up. Even after, like after we we parted, and you know, he went his way and I went mine. It still took me a while to get back. I put on a hundred pounds. It was a lot, like it was a lot. It was a lot, and granted, I'm still carrying some of that weight, but I I love I love me now. I I will never let anybody else take me through the mud the way I was taken through the mud in that relationship. It was such a learning experience about how to love and to be myself.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my goodness. You literally embody like Savannah is really you.

SPEAKER_02

Big talk.

SPEAKER_04

When you left, was it like Savannah did you had to, did you have to ease out of the relationship or was he easy to kind of break free?

SPEAKER_00

Um, it was it was a little struggle because he was military, so he was going out the country, and he thought that we were going with him. And I was like, no, I'm I'm gonna move to Georgia and I'm going to start my life out there somewhere different. And you go your way, I go mine. And I moved here, and I've been pretty much happy ever since. I did have a moment of when he came to visit, he kind of like, and that's what actually inspired me to pick the book back up. He came to visit, and he had left such a strong negative energy in my face that I was like, uh-uh. Like I was so depressed. Like after he left, I was depressed for like about five, six days. And then I jumped up out of nowhere one day. I was like, okay, it's together. What's wrong with you? This is not right. Go put your hands on this book and stop playing. Like, go put your hands on this book and finish. And I worked on it from I want to say about November to about March. And then I started with uh formatting and cover design and stuff like that. And then it released May 28th of 2026.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so it's been out for a couple months. It's been out for a few. Was it hard to write Savannah's character, um, to write some of the characteristics from you into Savannah? Was it hard putting it down on paper, like reliving some of the things?

SPEAKER_00

Um, it that's why I stopped. Because I saw when I started in 2023, I was writing so much more. Like it was it was really, really character-driven when I first wrote it. And then when I touched again and I looked at it, I was like, nah, you gotta take some of this out because what if you're not as healed as you thought that you were, and it takes you back. So I just went through it, and even though going through it, it did kind of like you know, a few emotional moments, but I just started snatching some of the bulk out of it and made it more of a story of self-liberation, sexual liberation, and healing.

SPEAKER_04

Because we're gonna get to the sexual liberation. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. Was it hard to write any other character?

SPEAKER_00

Um certain parts, it was hard to write Lawrence at certain parts. Um, it was definitely hard to write Nona because Nona is a mix of my mother and my grandmother. So my love, my my love, love for my my actual grandma, who I called Mona, not Nona. I used to call her Mona. And um just missing her so much and writing some of the things that she used to say, and you know, just about protecting yourself and making sure that you always got your things together and even down to the part with her funky ass husband James. Yeah, that was kind of hard to write. That definitely was not, that wasn't too easy to write, but I got it down, I got it down. I dig down.

SPEAKER_04

I said, Oh, but oh, that just broke my heart.

SPEAKER_00

I had to dig deep. I definitely did, and I I realized now as uh as an author that I do like to like give you a glimpse of what is wrong with my characters, like why they are the way that they are. So I realize I I did, I realized that with just writing all songs and now writing a book that I'm releasing next month. I realized

Leaving A Husband And Rebuilding Self

SPEAKER_00

that I take I do take Rhea's through that and I've had a few people come through my inbox like, girl, do you know how emotional that was to read for me? And I'm like, I'm sorry, but I I I believe highly in character development somehow, somehow. So, because I like I do write primarily erotica, and I don't want you to just be like, oh, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, even though some people like it like that. But I do want you to know something about the character, and then they can, you know, go on and hump.

SPEAKER_04

That did explain a lot, especially when she said she became her experience.

SPEAKER_03

Can you hear me now?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I can hear you.

SPEAKER_04

I was saying that they kind of explained um when she said from that experience she became hyper sexual.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And they created so from that experience is that how we got to this sexual liberation?

SPEAKER_00

Kind of, yeah. Yeah, kind of. I I had a situation where I was young and it did create a sexual, you know, a big sexual part of my life, and I was just like, okay, cool. And then I took a big pause, like I just took a vowel celibacy, I took a straight long pause. And then when I started back, I ended up getting pregnant with my daughter, and I was like, oh, okay. So I was actually told I couldn't have kids in real life, so yeah, I was told I couldn't have kids in real life. So when I got pregnant with my daughter, I was like, okay, I'll I've always wanted to be a mother, so I'm going to definitely have this baby so that I can experience motherhood. And it's still, I still have that still have hypersexuality. That was just it's I feel like it was embedded in me at that part. Like it just, you know, unfortunately, you know, it happened and it molded me in certain ways. But like I said, it does stop me being slightly hypersexual makes for a good story. Like it makes for good stories. I have it in my brain, so I just put it on paper, especially for the girlies that like to read it.

SPEAKER_04

But I was like, hold up now, because um we got a third, and then the quick chemistry between TIFF. Hold on, before we even met TIF. Okay, so now we got we're gonna actually dive into the story. When did when she was in this cab that's a girl, I say what do what not? We don't know that the cab driver was peeping.

SPEAKER_00

We don't know, but she was she was okay with it. She was just like, okay, that's that's been something that I I've actually done one time because of sexual magnetism from a man and some music. Listen, I ain't got to lie to nobody, child. Okay, I don't have to lie to nobody. I like to keep it real and true, okay? So it is something. It was years. I was young, though. I was young, and it was in the back of a cab. It definitely was. It was it was it was a quick little situation. Got it, you know, got mine, and then you know, got on out. It it like I said, I had a hypersexual growing up. So it was it it needed to be done in that moment. Like it just I couldn't, I didn't know how to control it at that time. I'm older now, so now I know how to control it, and I don't do stuff like that anymore. But I was young, I was about 20 years old, maybe I'll be 43 next month. So it was a long time ago. But it just struck me to write it. I was like, I just feel like this scene is going to either scare some folk or intrigue some folk.

SPEAKER_04

It was both. It was it was I was like, girl, they're gonna steal you in a cab. You finna be they is finna steal you, what it like Savannah. That was what I said. I need to ask her, where did like what made you say, I'm gonna write this lady rubbing out one in a cab, like a little voyeurism with fantasies of this big old black man she disencounts it, honey.

SPEAKER_00

It's listen, uh my mind works in very mysterious ways, okay? It really and truly does. So I just I just thought it, like I said, I thought it was either going to scare folks or intrigue them. And for a lot of people so far, it has done both, like you said, and now I have like a growing fan base because of that scene, believe it or not, which is so weird.

SPEAKER_04

You went over some like I say, I was reading some stuff, and I'm saying hold up now.

SPEAKER_02

What you're not doing?

SPEAKER_04

What you better you finna call your wife to do you flirting then you finna call your wife and tell her that you found somebody? Hold up. So are we a part of the community? Yes, okay, isn't I'm a part of the community too? Yeah, how important was it to um include the community into your story?

SPEAKER_00

I just wanted to, you know what's crazy. Let me go back. So I actually have a friend, not the friend that inspired Marisol, but she inspired inspired Marisol by her looks. I just think she's absolutely beautiful. She used to wear a short blonde cut, and at the time she was dealing with uh STEM. And I just loved them, like just as like looks-wise. I just was like, y'all are beautiful. Like this is a really like in my eyes, different. Because sometimes when you see like relationships, you see like I like what I like my like growing up, if it was like a stud or aggressive or whatever we used to call it when I was younger, they wouldn't be like, they wouldn't have like aspects of pretty.

Turning Trauma Into Sexual Liberation

SPEAKER_00

And I just thought it was so like sexy. I was like, this is uh, this is sexy. So I told them, I was like, you know, I think I'm gonna base my characters just off of you guys looks-wise. And they were they were down, they was just like, oh, that's and we like that. And I was like, okay, cool. But Marisol is based off of, like I said, another friend. And if I was ever gay, she would be like full-blown gay, she would be who I would want to be with because me and her just click in a certain way. Like we click how Savannah and Marisol click. So that would be I'm telling you, if I ever decided to give up men, I'm like, what we do? That that's the type of energy me and her have. Well, not no, not really. I think I just wrote that more so for of the story. Like she had her family, but her and marathon had like a different love. Like it was definitely unconventional. Like it was just like, okay, this is my friend, but I love her on another level of friendship. Because a lot of people don't understand when it comes to soulmates. A soulmate isn't just a romantic partner, it could be just a friend, it could be a friend of benefits, it could be somebody that you're in a relationship with. It is a lot to being a soulmate or having a soulmate. Now it's something different when you consider a twin playing. But I am spiritual, so you know that that's on a different level of like, you know, talk. Like that's more of the like the spiritual side of things.

SPEAKER_04

So I do feel like that was one of my, I'm glad you said that because that was one of my questions too. Um, the spirituality and like how did it play a part, uh, a role in your book?

SPEAKER_00

So I am very, very spiritual. Growing up, my grandmother, like, if I got in trouble, she would make me meditate. She would make me recenter myself. Like, if I was too hyper or anything like that, I would have to sit down and recenter myself. And I still use that practice with my own kids to make sure that you meditate, make sure that you know that you are powerful, that you are abundant, that you're that you're great. Like there's manifestations, affirmations, things of that sort is very important to me as a person. And I just had an interview last night, and I had to specify that I'm not trying to force spirituality on anybody by reading my book. That is not my objective. That is just Savannah's practices, that is Inez's practices, that is Aisha's practices, because that's my real name. So, you know, like that's not I'm not trying to force it on anybody, but I did put the spiritual and crystal index in the beginning of the book because I did mention a lot of things. I mentioned a lot of crystals, I mentioned some number sequences, things like that. So if anybody wanted to know more about them, I actually gave you a little bit of education as well in the book for you to take away just in case. Because I've had people come to me after the fact, and they're like, girl, I now I'm on Google and I'm I'm looking up crystals, and I'm like, well, baby, every crystal I put in the book is in uh index that I put in the front of the book. And they like, really? You know, we we we just skip to chapter one. I said, Yeah, a lot of people do, because that's that's what we do in books. We don't we don't pay attention. This is why a lot of people's book and gag because they didn't read the trigger one that I put up in the front of that book.

SPEAKER_04

I ain't gonna lie, I'm one of them. I give straight to chapter one, I read that prologue, and I go right on.

SPEAKER_00

So a lot of people did not know that there is an index in the front of the book. In the very front, it is a full-blown spiritual index where every single crystal that I mentioned, I have what it means in the book. Now, like I said last night, too. I'm gonna say it again: crystals are rocks. We know that they come from the ground, they they people dig them up. We know that, but it's what you your intentions that you set into them. And again, I am not trying to force spirituality on anybody, it's just that's how she decided to live her life within that book, as well as that's how I live my life. So that's where the spiritual side came from.

SPEAKER_04

And we and you've already said that Savannah was kind of based off of you anyway. So it's basically your ideas through Savannah, and then we had uh melting pot. Yes, I said we got some of everybody up in here, baby. The representation, let me tell you something. When I say I enjoyed all of the representation, the different cultures. You gave us a little bit of everything. What made you say I need to incorporate and then are you looking at me about the say, you African American?

SPEAKER_00

Because how did we get so um I do have a bunch of friends that are West Indian. I have family members that are West Indian, and Brooklyn is just a melting pot of everybody. Like my best friend.

SPEAKER_04

I was that's where I was getting to like, how did you get these people culture? Like, how did you prepare and research for them?

SPEAKER_00

Well, certain things I did look up, but I have a lot of friends that are West Indian. Like, um, my best friend is actually based off of Mindy. My best friend uh is Trinidadian and Guyanese, which where is that's Darren, Darren is Trinidadian Guyanese. So I just kind of took things that I know of and put them into different characters. So like Mindy is in the book, you know, I don't really specify what Mindy is. She just looks Indian. So my best friend looks Indian, but she's Trinidadian and Guyanese. So her Guyanese side gives her that Indian look. So that's where Mindy came from. Then if you go, if you know anything about New York, you go out to the Bronx, you're gonna get the Spanish girls. You're gonna get the Spanish girlies. So that's where Marisol and Tiffany came from. They Bronx girlies. So I just put a little bit of everybody in there. And then if you like, like people pay attention, and I can tell that you paid attention to the book. So Darren was born in Guyana, but he was raised in Trinidad. That's where he met Steve, his best friend. And Steve was born in Trinidad, so that's how they became friends, even though Darren has a slightly different upbringing because he was born somewhere else. He still understands Steve because he was raised in Trinidad before they came to New York. So I just wanted to put a just a bunch of different discultures, and just I just wanted a vibe from the book so people could just see that it's just not just everybody black or everybody's, you know, something. I just wanted to put a little bit of difference in the book.

SPEAKER_04

Baby. This I like I went, like I said, I went into it absolutely blind and didn't know what to expect from anything. And then as I started reading, I said we got some, we even had some BDSM.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Now and it went the other, you know. We're I I thought it would be the other way around, but the power dynamic was a little switched and it was given to Savannah. Was that intentional?

SPEAKER_00

Like, did he like that was

Writing Queer Love And Soulmates

SPEAKER_00

intentional only because uh I feel like a lot of the books that I read, of course, it's the male that is the dominant. Um, I like the fact of Darren just being a big man, but surrendering to his woman in that aspect. I just thought I thought it was sexy in a way. Because I'm just like, you know, we always see the man being the, you know, the dominant one. He's the one that's gonna tie you up, or he's the one that's gonna wanna spank you, or something like that. You know, let's see what happens if you, if Savannah asked Darren and if Darren would be willing to do it. And he was willing to do it, and he loved it. And he didn't realize that he even had that kink until she brought it out of him.

SPEAKER_04

Because he said he had never submitted to a woman before, and I was thinking maybe he felt like an energy or he felt like she needed something like that in that moment, or was it just like spur of the moment?

SPEAKER_00

And when I wrote it, I wrote it as a spur in the moment thing. It wasn't like he seen anything in her, but he seen that she was intrigued when the man was flogging the lady. So he seen her, you know, she wanted to learn, and then the man was like, Hey, you wanna, I see you look interested over there. Do you want to learn? And she's like, Yeah. So she jumped right into it, and then she's just like, Hey, you can I do this to you? And he's just like, all right, cool. Like, let's see what happens. And that's where that scene came in. A lot of people love that scene, which is so weird. Like, a lot. I've heard a lot of great reviews about that part of the book.

SPEAKER_04

What's some of the feedback you got from the book so far?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I've not I've not so far have not gotten like any bad reviews or anything like that. I got some low star ratings, of course, but you know, I don't feel like if anybody has like a straight big, you know, unless they just wanted them, the book is just top, top, top, top tier, you know. But I um I haven't got any like really, really bad feedback. The the most that I got was somebody tell me that they almost DNF'd the book, but then they understood more about what was going on. Because they basically said, like, you know, Savannah girl, you don't even hear minutes while you're in this cab doing this, like and then I understood though. I but like I said, there is if you read to understand and not just for entertainment, because of course a lot of us read for entertainment, we don't read for understanding. So if you read for understanding, you understand, you will understand that Savannah was being authentically herself. She really didn't care what other people thought, and there was healing in almost everything that she did. Whether it be good, bad, ugly, to how whoever thinks it's that way. There was a form of healing in every single chapter that I wrote.

SPEAKER_04

Especially when she left. Like that's why I kind of understood it. Like once she left him and she felt this liberation, and she was basically finding herself all over again, yeah. Reading this, what would you hope readers um take away from this or women take away from this story?

SPEAKER_00

So I want I just want anybody, it doesn't matter if it's a woman, a man, it doesn't matter to me. I just want uh people to understand that if you're not comfortable in a situation and it no longer serves you and you have the means to get up and leave, leave before it crushes and consumes you. That's the that's the real true meaning of Savannah getting up and leaving. Like before something takes you so far to where you can't even like look in the mirror, like like I said with me. If you have a way to get out of it, or if you have a way to heal while you're in it, do that. Do it for yourself, for nobody else. That's very, very important to me. And I want the readers to understand that that that granted messy, freaky, erotic. Okay, we get all that, but healing is important, and getting out of a situation that no longer serves you for your best interests is important.

SPEAKER_04

Did you know the ending? I'm trying to give it because I don't want to give it away because I don't want to spoil it for the readers. Okay, that ending. Did you know that it would end like that? Like, did you write the end? Because I talked to another author and she said that she wrote the ending. She always writes her endings before she knows what the beginning is gonna be. So I'm just like, I wonder, did you know? Because I was not expecting, I was not expecting that.

SPEAKER_00

Nobody was. So what is what's crazy, right? I had a whole different ending for all times going forward. Whole different, complete ending. And after I wrote some of the parts, I was like, I don't think I like this ending anymore, but I kept it. The ending of that book that I had first is not an ending of this book that's coming out in October. I just I just took it and I was like, it fits better to me in this book. And mind you, at the time I didn't even have the idea for the second book. I just know after All Sun came out, I got so many inboxes about Steve. It was like Steve is mysterious. What's going on with Steve? We need to know more about Steve. Steve, Steve sound like he's fine. Like, I just got so many, I got so many inboxes. I said, you know what? I'm gonna give y'all a glimpse into what's going on with Steve. Because Steve was he was a character that so many people wanted to know about. So when I wrote that ending, I didn't know that it would fit for another book. I didn't have any clue what the ending of all sides was gonna be because I knew as I started writing, I was like, I don't like this ending for this book. I don't like it, I don't know how it's gonna fit, I don't really want to use it. So I'm gonna just hold on to it. I left it in my notes, I left it there, and I was like, it'll come, it'll come to me for something else. But as I was writing, I just wanted a jaw-dropping ending. Like, what? Like, that's what I wanted. Because if you read the book, she was mentioned, the person was mentioned, but I didn't give too much into them.

SPEAKER_04

And I have to go back and read, because like there was at one point or time where you realize that what what she's saying, and I was like, Oh, this was like the the little pop, like what?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, the other thing.

SPEAKER_00

I had to I had to scroll back because what yeah, I just I I wanted the ending to literally goop and gag everybody that read it, and I maybe I got cursed out. My art team was left and right. It was girl, the ending, ma'am, what? Like, I was getting inboxes left and right. I was like, Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. And they was like, no, but we loved it because you wouldn't expect it. And one thing too with me, I'm I'm an author, of course, but I'm also a reader. I like to pick books apart, and most of the time when I read a book, I can figure out the ending before I'm almost done. I didn't want people to figure out my I wanted them to have to get to the end to understand, like, oh shoot, like what? And then I also wanted to point out at the very ending that Savannah is that bitch,

Spirituality Crystals And Reading The Front Matter

SPEAKER_00

like that's what she is, and she let it be known at the end of that book that don't ever play with her because you never know when it might come back to bite you in the ass.

SPEAKER_04

And she always 10 steps ahead. She might she might act slow or play slow, but never that. Because I'm telling you, kept that in her pocket the whole time. Like, girl, what I'm telling you, I have to scroll back.

SPEAKER_00

When Savannah said I have it handled, she had it handled. She already had it handled. She she knew because how I wrote her, I wrote her as a protector as well, but she wasn't as much, like she wasn't as a broad of a protector as Darren was. Darren was a complete crash out. If he messed with who he loved, he would show you right in that moment that don't play with mine. Samana is a Libra, the only sign manipulated by a machine, which means, you know, like Libras, we calculate, we calculate and we we move around things and make things work until we need it. And then when we need it, we release it. And that's exactly what she did. She didn't need that. She didn't make sure that her man was safe. That's all that Savannah, that's all she wanted.

SPEAKER_04

Sabanna was something else. And when Savannah said, fuck them kids.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what's crazy? So my oldest daughter, she's 22. Um, when I was writing it, me and her was just talking about it, and she's she's one of my like she would help me do like certain chapters and stuff like that. And we were sitting down and talking, and I was like, Yeah, and I had her read that scene, and she was like, Yeah, you should say, Fuck them kids.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, you're gonna lie, you got something over there.

SPEAKER_00

Let me just go back that into these keys, okay? So credit goes to my daughter for that line right there.

SPEAKER_04

Cause I used to vote.

SPEAKER_02

Girl, yes.

SPEAKER_04

Baby. Savannah was funny. Savannah was funny, Savannah was maybe no joke.

SPEAKER_00

That's me though. Like, I like I have this problem where I sometimes do not think before I speak. So some of the wildest things come out of my mouth. My daughter will tell me to go to the corner. Like, she's like the she's parenting her parents some days because she'd be like, my really, she'd be like, and she'll just point to the corner, like, and I'm like, okay, I guess I gotta take a time out real quick. Because sometimes I do not think before I speak, and I just I'm learning, I'm getting there, even in my older age, baby. I'm getting there, I'm getting there, and understand that sometimes you gotta you gotta retract the what's in your brain and make sure it comes out nicely.

SPEAKER_04

When she read winter, this was your this is your potential box. Baby read her and then left up out of there, like and that's actually true too.

SPEAKER_00

I did that at a uh modeling casting, and then I ended up getting a job.

SPEAKER_04

No, you did it.

SPEAKER_00

I did, and so it's a lot of truth to the book. It's definitely a lot of truth. I did. I was like, why are you being rude to me? First of all, like I'm not late. Are you serious? I'm not late. I'm right here, I'm on time. I might be on time, but I'm not late. And I I had a few words with the person, and they tell me basically the same thing. Like, listen, she read me for film, and that's why she's here. Because I respected it. So nobody else had the balls to tell me about myself, and I like the fact that she did. So yeah, I just made it, you know, a different, kind of different situation.

SPEAKER_04

Now, how are we classifying, how are we categorizing this book? Because we had some we ain't gonna skate by, like we ain't have no paranormal activity going on because Nona did pop up a few times, definitely did.

SPEAKER_00

She popped up. Okay, so when I wrote the book, like I'm brand new into the book space. I'm I'm I'm just I'm just getting back into reading as well. So I think I've been reading now for about six, seven months. So I didn't necessarily know how to categorize the book when I wrote it. I had no clue. Like I had thought it was just like a romance, suspense thriller. And then so many people came to me afterwards and was like, you know, this is an erotica, right? And I'm like, I was like, really? Because I know I've read things before and it had way more than my book had, and I would consider that an erotica. But the book space is so different now that I'm just like, okay, so maybe it is erotic. I should have go back and read my book after, too, just to like think about it. And then I went back onto uh uh Amazon and I recategorized it as uh erotic romance suspense thriller. But I didn't put anything paranormal in it because I I wasn't thinking about it like that in my in my mind, because when I think of paranormal, I just think of spiritual, I don't think of it as paranormal. Because in my eyes, paranormal is scary. Like I think about the cabinets opening and stuff falling out, like that's how I think of it. So now I'm a little bit more versed into how to categorize my reads.

SPEAKER_04

So does it have to be like a certain amount? Because I remember when oh girl had pop, and I was like, at first I was like, does she mean the little who she he was talking to that he wasn't feeling? And then when it doubled back and she was like, Oh, I saw her, I was like, Oh, she saw oh like she saw baby mama.

SPEAKER_03

So you just floating around your man that you didn't want, that you didn't want what the hell because that's not creepy, right?

SPEAKER_00

Listen, the the interview I had last night, they said that they thought it would be kind of cool if I wrote a Lawrence book to give people insight to why he was how he was. And this morning, ideas hit me and I put them down. So it might be coming, it might be coming out soon. It might because I gotta get finished this one, and then everybody been waiting for Tiffany and Marisol. Because Tiffany and Marisol were definitely a fan favorite from a lot of readers. So I started that book a couple of weeks ago, so that would be a novella coming out probably after this next book.

SPEAKER_04

Especially with Mindy, Joe. And when you when you pop up over there and Mindy ass over there already.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Because Mindy, what you doing here? Mindy said, I love it here. Hold on, what's this about?

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know this was interesting.

SPEAKER_04

And then Tiff and Mindy, oh, it like doing anything, and then Marisol then creeped into the room.

SPEAKER_00

I said it just was a I listen, listen, that's just how I just I just wanted to write it like that. I was like, look, I don't when I wrote it, I said I don't even know if anybody's gonna like this book. I'm just writing to write because I wanna write. and i want to put it out and see what happens and so far i've it's been it's been doing pretty decent i can't even sit here and lie and i i'm i'm grateful for every single page turn every single order i received i'm grateful for for it all that people understood and even liked what i had to say on some

Cultural Representation And Brooklyn As Blueprint

SPEAKER_00

paper the fact that this was her debut where do we get this name where do we get the name of the book outside point forward i don't because when i left i didn't have any intention on looking back and i actually had another name i spoke about this last night too had another name and i don't remember what it was like i cannot for the life of me i've been trying to remember what it was i cannot remember maybe if i look in some of my my old files maybe i have it written down but i cannot remember and i was sitting at my mama's house and she was like you sure she was like this it's not giving me like what because my mom's author as well i was gonna say your mama read your book yeah and she said that she she she was in this my mother has been in every interview that i have done so far she's been 10 toes down for her daughter and she's like listen she's like listen she's like i she's like i don't think it was that bad and i read it and i'm her mama so mama i'm side on you because what do you be writing and reading well no see my mother my mother wrote a memoir so she has a memoir about her life that's out so she don't she but now she wants to kind of tap into a different genre because of my book she's she's intrigued now she wants to see what she can do because my mother writes beautifully in my eyes I love the way she writes I love the way she makes you feel like you're actually in like her memoir and felt like I was there and I was nowhere in 1958 but I felt like I was there I felt like I was in the 70s when she wrote certain parts and how they was at the poker table smoke the cigarettes and stuff like that I felt like I was there like so I'm I'm kind of excited to see what she pulled out next to see what she brought up but she did read it didn't read the second one because I did tell her I was like I don't know if you're ready for this don't you touch that novella don't you touch that baby book 34 pages I want to know what mama got to I want mama to read it so I want to know what mama got to read you you you is the problem you mama like you are the problem okay we're gonna have to read it and bring mama back because mama look with your thoughts that one is listen I got some people that have told me they read it too many times they enjoyed it too many times they read it with partners I have people tell me that they read all songs point forward the scenes with partners with their partners I had somebody tell me they read it with their husband another person told me they read it with their girlfriend and they were very they was happy while reading and and then whatever happened next because I didn't ask no extra questions. But y'all was doing at the okay I don't I listen that is what y'all do besides but in y'all closed doors and I didn't want to know but it also made me kind of it made me feel kind of good like okay cool y'all you know y'all got something out of my word and hey if that if that's what it is that's what it is I'm I'm just you know I'm a free spirit got something out of my work a free spirit baby listen listen if it makes you happy it makes me happy okay I can't be mad at it right I can't be mad at it listen I have got I've gotten some inboxes though about the scenes and how they shouldn't have been so good and they shouldn't have made people so happy and so I was like listen baby it is what it is we read it for understanding appear I'm not I'm not yes listen listen that's just it is what it is I can't I can't I just can't stop people from whatever they feel like doing you they grown listen they were they grown and they reading it was the lotus flower and oh you don't I didn't want to call it typical things I didn't want to like everybody could say the P word and you know the D word and stuff I wanted to call it different things just to intrigue the minds of people like I just I just liked it. I was like oh flowers pretty like we call it what I said what that came from African spiritualism love because if anybody knows anything about the African goddess Oshun she used to dip her hand in her honey pot and give it to the men so that's what honeypot came from actually there's a lot there's a lot of like spiritualism just in my book period like even like when it comes to Savannah picking up and leaving I tell people this all the time I don't read tarot and I don't know too much about it but what I do know is I do know the meanings of certain cards and the full card which is the first card in the deck is about new beginnings and getting up and leaving with just literally the clothes on your back and figuring it out. So if you look at the actual card it's a man standing on a the edge of a cliff he got his little stick or little little bag hanging off the stick and he's just standing there like he's just about to jump and the card means new beginnings like you don't know what is beyond that hell but if you just take the leap of faith you never know where it'll take you so that's where Savannah getting up and leaving

BDSM Power Reversal And Reader Reactions

SPEAKER_00

that's where that came from so there's so much different different things just all through the book that just life experiences for me.

SPEAKER_04

And then I put it on some pages did anybody else catch any or did any of your readers catch any of the other things that you had throughout the book like that yeah a lot of people like a lot of people that are spiritual they did catch it and then they unboxed me like girl I peep that and it made me feel good that somebody did understand it.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like okay cool so my my actual my words and what I wanted readers to understand they got it and I love that like I loved it so much. I was like okay I feel like I'm getting somewhere like now if you just want to read that you might consider a little messy then you you can catch that in my book as well and you got some messy moments but I also like I like to read mess I don't like to live my life messy but I like to read mess so I put mess all up in there on purpose because you had me heat you had me 38 hot because I mean I wanna telefine on a sewing machine boy I was hot. Oh baby the way you inboxed me I was getting my nails and cackling my nail tech was like what is wrong with you so she has like a little stand where you can put your phone up while you're getting your nails on in case you want to watch a video or whatever. So I didn't happen to see a message come through and I tapped it and I'm like I said girl she know what happened I said she banned the no machine got thrown away child don't do that and it was an old school soul machine too and that that that now that he did not throw the real Lawrence did not throw away my known soul machine but he did throw away my ancestral altar where I have like pictures of my grandmother I had my grandfather's flask um I had a bunch of things on this uh this like metal sheet that I have and I would just set it up there and whenever I felt like you know sitting down having a conversation with my my ancestors I'd just sit down in front of it and I'll talk. And when I left he sent me a video of him with a trash bag big black trash bag and he scooped everything into the trash and I hollered at the top of my lungs and broke down into tears. And I was on the phone with one of my friends at the time and I was in front of my kids and I just broke down and she was like baby if you don't go in that bathroom and go cry she's like don't do that in front of them kids and I got up and I ran to the bathroom and I just screamed I just because I was just like why do you why are you destroying my stuff like because I chose me because I chose me that's what a narcissist will do.

SPEAKER_04

That's the noted he the fact that he video you bastard he sent it to me he sent me pictures of videos of him setting me and his pictures on fire yeah so I just in that moment of course I used a life experience but I turned it around so many loved her fashion she loved to make her own garments and she used to love doing that on her sewing machine and so I felt like that would be kind of equivalent to what I actually went through but in the aspect of the book Oh Lord if he read this book do you think he would know it was about him oh I told him he asked me for the Amazon link yes he did he asked me for the link he actually asked me to read it to him because he's a narcissist and that's how they act um he asked me to read it to him and I was like no I was like you can read it yourself and then about a couple of days later he sent me a text asking me for the Amazon link and I gave it to him said listen if you want to read about your demise baby you go right ahead but he'll know what's true in the story and what's not like you'll know and then like it's some of my friends that know what I went through they know exactly which parts were were true and what was not but it was a healing journey when I mean actually putting that down and like putting it out the day it released I broke down into tears on at midnight when it released just broke down I was just like oh my god like it felt like a weight was lifted off of me for some reason it was it was good for me like it just was and that's what all signs point for it kind of means too like if it's good for you move forward and keep it pushing like you just keep pushing don't look back don't go back no don't don't because all you're doing is creating a new problem for yourself and you go backwards oh

Crafting A Jaw Dropping Ending

SPEAKER_04

maybe this this was a lot you know how you read stuff and you be wondering like I wonder where they get this from where they got this idea from like what made them write this what made them think I'm about to write this and put this like this but the crazy part about it too is the ending like what happened to Lawrence stuff like that that came to me in a dream it came to me in a dream one day and and for some reason like when it came to me I woke up out of my sleep coughing like real bad like and my daughter came running in my room and she's like mommy are you okay and I I couldn't even get anything out because I still was coughing and I grabbed a piece of paper and I grabbed a pen and she's like trying to talk to me I just put my finger up like telling her like give me a second and I was writing I just wrote everything out because I didn't want to forget it.

SPEAKER_00

So then after I calmed down I felt like too once I finished writing down I stopped coughing completely just stopped coughing. I was like well what the hell is that and then I'm explaining to her about what um like what I wrote down and she was like you know that'd be a good book because my daughter is a reader like she's been in the the book community for a very long time now and she's a reader and she's like wow that'd be a great book you know that right and I was like you think so and she was like yeah and I that's when I started writing it in 2023 right after that but I um I did like I said I manipulated the ending because that the ending had something to do with the end that I have now and a little bit of the ending that all songs point forward has. So I kind of just figured it out just figured it out and when I write to I kind of just sit down and write I don't never really write down stuff on paper. I just go straight for it. So whatever comes to my mind in that exact moment is what I'm putting down. And then I'll just go over it after the fact and see if I like it. If I don't I'll move you know move the bottom to the top or snatch it out or put it in a different scene or whatever. But that's how I write and that dream did something for me.

SPEAKER_04

And look what we got a whole book. It was right it was good I I had a time honey so I thank you for joining us today um so do you have any events that you'll be or any appearances where you'll be in person I haven't gotten there yet I'm trying to get out of my slight shyness I still have a little bit like once I get warmed up and it's crazy that I say this because it's I've been doing runway and all that stuff all my life people are like how are you shy?

SPEAKER_00

But it's it's different so like it's it's different when you have to like talk to people in person.

SPEAKER_04

But I'm getting there I do want to do something soon I'm gonna apply for some things and see if I get accepted and I'm gonna get there get there let everybody know where they can follow you at on TikTok Instagram if you have a YouTube okay so I have uh tick tock and um instagram is both an as moon the writer an as moon dot the no sorry that's my email sorry so it's an authors ones wait no I'm I'm not right right now hold on it's so weird because I do this every day so I'm trying to figure out why I can't figure out my own name it's Inezmoon dot the dot authoress on TikTok and Instagram my YouTube is still Inez of all trades I'm thinking about changing it to match everything else so everything is just one cohesive thing.

SPEAKER_00

So nobody has to like yeah so nobody has to but I used to have a podcast as well and that's where um Inez of all trades came from so I um I'm gonna change everything so we can just be cohesive all across the board so nobody can't say they can't find me because I'm here

Real Life Inspiration Narcissism And The Altar Scene

SPEAKER_00

because I'm here she is here and she is here to stay I ain't going nowhere baby I got these books to pop out for these readers and I need to goop and gag some folks so when should we expect the next book?

SPEAKER_04

Do we have like a drop date in mind for the next book?

SPEAKER_00

October 8th uh his favorite crystal will be um coming out and I'm actually doing the cover reveal tomorrow so you'll see it on Instagram tomorrow and TikTok. Okay baby that's right around the corner yeah that's it's my birthday happy birthday yeah I'll be dropping on my birthday just to give myself a little little gift a little cute gift baby I'm so excited for you and your journey thank you I'm excited too I this is something that I wanted to do for years and I'm happy that I finally have gotten out of my scaredness and said listen let's go because now I'm ready now I'm ready to pop these books out and give people something to talk about and I'm ready yes and I'm ready to be all up in it I know what I want to ask you we got any um not safe for work art coming I don't know I just got some character art made for the new book but it's it's pretty safe but I do want to do something I would like to find a real good artist somebody that can draw me some stuff and I do want some not safe for work art I do because this new book spicy too but it it definitely has um character building um a little bit of trauma got a little bit of stalking um wait the good stalking or though because you know it's different levels of stalking like a good stalking is it's a it's a good stalker and then it's a bad stalker as well. Yeah but the funny thing is I've already had somebody read a little bit of it and again they just seem to like my villains so much just because they think that they're funny and I think they're funny too but it's it's to me it's it's a great it's a great read what I got so far I'm not done I'm trying to be done in the next four days so I can get it to my favorite readers but I'm at my I'm at the finish line with it. So it's called his favorite crystal and it follows the story of Steve Steve Darren's best friend gets his his love interest. Okay and yeah and then you also find out a little bit more about them because I did have people want to know about the tech stuff that Steve does.

SPEAKER_04

And they were a background where they done told that they they handle situations.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah people want to know about that so that I put that into this book I gave them a a little bit of bit about why they do it and the reasonings and why the you know Darren is unhinged there and Darren Savannah pop in this book too as well as Tiffany and Marisol. Okay they make a couple of little appearances in this book because we know Darren is unhinged so Darren's like what we doing how we doing it you need my help because you know I'm down uh choking it out he's just that kind of friend yes he is that kind of friend so he's there but Steve is also he Steve is chill unhinged like he he don't he he's not like a crash out like Darren because Darren is absolute crash out he's he don't play but Steve is kind of smooth with his he just like all right cool we're gonna handle it and I think we're gonna make this money afterwards so I'll see you later he kind of does October 8th this is coming out October 8th and then tomorrow was it tomorrow you said tomorrow I'm doing the cover reveal yeah and I'm doing art submissions too tomorrow as well.
