I consider protein balls one of my secret weapons. When I  need a sweet snack these are my go-to snacks. They are rich in fiber and have a good amount of protein. 

As we have discussed, keeping our protein level up will help our bones and muscles stay strong. It also helps keep us satiated.

Here is the base recipe but be sure to mix it up and make it your own.

3c old-fashioned oats
1c peanut butter (the fresh ground is the best)
1/4 c raw honey
1/4 mix ins-cranberries, raisins, nuts, coconut, etc
1 scoop protein powder (Juice Plus Chocolate is what I used)
1/2 c water or to desired texture.

Mix by hand and form balls.  Refrigerate until firm then bag up.  These can be frozen for a longer shelf life.  The serving size is 2.

No nut butter protein balls

3 scoops Vanilla protein powder
2 1/4c old-fashioned oats (blended to flour)
2T honey
4T lemon juice
1T lemon zest
1/4 c water, more as needed

Mix as above.
