IDP Stock Market: Week 15

IDP Stock Market: Week 15

The fantasy football playoffs are here! It doesn’t matter if you made the big dance or you’re in the consolation bracket; as long as waivers are open, there is plenty of work to be done. Each week, I will bring you my IDP Stock Market, which suggests which players you should start or invest in, and which ones you should sit out or liquidate. This week, I dug deeper into some stocks you should consider investing in for more advanced types of leagues. Regardless of the type of IDP format you use, I am here to guide you through the process. Let's dive right into some investments and liquidations that can help your season get off to a strong start.

Investments

Curtis Robinson, LB, San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with injuries from the beginning, and this trend has continued throughout the season. They lost starter Fred Warner earlier this season, and now Nick Martin (concussion) & Tatum Bethune (high ankle sprain) will miss Week 15. This will be the third straight week without Bethune, and in his place, it’s been Curtis Robinson who has been that next man up. When given the opportunity, he’s shown that he can produce and gets a chance to feast against a poor Titans offense this week. Robinson has 21 total tackles (7 per game) in the last three weeks and should be on the mark or better against the Titans. Robinson is a must-pick-up and play for as long as he continues to get a healthy snap share.

Cole Bishop, SAF, Buffalo Bills

My next IDP Stock Market investment, SAF Cole Bishop for the Buffalo Bills, is for those of you needing help in the secondary. He has had one of the most consistent and safest floors at the position, as he’s had at least six tackles in seven of the last eight games (6.25 per game over that span), which included a four-game stretch of seven in each contest. The second-year star from Utah is getting his chance this year and has been exactly what the Bills have needed. For years, they started veterans Jordan Poyer & Micah Hyde, and Bishop is that new shot of youth. Bishop does a little of everything for Buffalo, which has included 71 total tackles, three TFLs, two sacks, three interceptions, and seven PBUs. The playoffs are no time to be cute with your lineups, so make sure Bishop is on your roster and starting.

Tyson Campbell, CB, Cleveland Browns

Imagine getting traded from one bad team to another! That’s what happened to my next IDP Stock Market investment, CB Tyson Campbell. He played four and a half seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars before getting traded to the Cleveland Browns, his current team. You’re probably thinking yuck, and I get that, but he’s quietly having an excellent season for fantasy managers. He currently ranks 2nd overall in the NFL with a career-best 16 PBU’s, and has five games with two or more. Campbell has tied his personal best in tackles with 73, which includes six games of six or more. Here are two more positive checks in his favor: he plays for a team that has better talent around him, but a much worse offensive group. Whether you are looking for a weekly streaming option or just a reliable pickup, Campbell is definitely worth a look in position-specific leagues.

Bonus Investment

James Pearce Jr, DE, Atlanta Falcons

I know I’m already late for this to be a play this week, but for a future dynasty play, you have to get my bonus IDP Stock Market investment on your IDP portfolios. James Pearce Jr is on one hell of a heater right now, with 7½ sacks in the last six games. He has eight total on the season, which leads all NFL rookies, and is a new Atlanta Falcon team rookie record. He got off to a slow start, but now he’s showing why I had him rated so highly, and the Falcons tarded back into the first round to get him. He also has 13 QB hits, 23 QB pressures, and a 4.8% missed tackle rate to support his dominance. He’s making a strong push for Browns rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Take the necessary steps to add him to your IDP portfolios now, before the price increases.

Liquidations

Rashan Gary, DE, Green Bay Packers

It’s year seven for my first IDP Stock Market liquidation, and I have to ask the question: Is it time to sell your shares of Green Bay Packers DE Rashan Gary? My opinion is yes! He’s a third-tier pass rusher who gets overvalued a ton. He’s never hit double-digit sacks, despite having solid star pass rushers opposite him. Gary started the year off hot with 7 ½  sacks through the first seven games, but has zero over the last six. I really feel his name carries more value than his game produces. He is also currently boasting the second-highest missed tackle rate (10.9%) of his career. The addition of star Micah Parsons was supposed to help take him to another level, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards at the moment. We’re seven years in, and we know what he is, which is a 7-9 sack producer. I suggest taking advantage of the name value and trading him away for options and capital that can help improve your team overall.

Daiyan Henley, LB, Los Angeles Chargers

With the linebacker position being so deep with viable options, I have to ask, how much do you really trust LA Chargers LB Daiyan Henley as a fantasy option? If we’re talking 2024, yes, you’ll gladly take his 147 total tackles (8.64 per game), but in the present….absolutely not, with his 82 tackles (6.3 per game). Henley is giving you some small hope with his 3½ sacks, but that doesn’t make up for the lost tackle production. Again, the linebacker position is just so deep, there are better options imo. Even in really deep leagues, I feel he’s an LB3/LB4 option at best. While there is value there, it’s likely not what you invested in him for, and with that, I am liquidating my shares of him.
