As well as the socio-political context of Chile during Allende's formative years, emphasizing the country's economic turmoil, social inequality, and the emergence of leftist movements amidst government repression. Carmen tells Cristina about Salvador Allende's life, political ideology, and the complex socio-political landscape of Chile during his presidency, and the covert interventions by the US, aimed at destabilizing his government.
