So yeah, we're talking like I wasn't. It wasn't until my twenties that I really didn't vehemently hate Valentine's Day. Like now that's not to say that like for classrooms and whatnot, like for the Valentine's Day parties that I didn't get into that stuff. Like and you got handed the Choose you Valentine card that one. I mean, I I remember at one point too, I was like the I was I had volunteered to be the DJ for like our fourth or fifth grade Valentine's Day party like an elementary school, and I thought it was so cool like that I cut out like paper hearts and like put them on my knees, like like I've dressed up like a Valentine's Day heart DJ.

But yeah, to answer your question, I it's only been probably in the last decade that I've really softened up on Valentine's Day, I would say, Okay. Not until probably like not until my later teens. Like I really just didn't give it really much thought for the most part. Okay, it wasn't until that, like I was like had my first apartment, and like I remember like the first like Valentine's Day that I had my apartment that I was like, I'm gonna go to Kroger.

Something something along those lines. I usually I would usually end with my Bloody Valentine because that was always my favorite, and Valentine's Day twenty ten. I didn't really start putting in my rotation until probably two thousand and eleven, which one Valentine's Day the movie. The movie, it would be weird if you put it into the rotation before it came out. I mean, it would be an amazing accomplished. Actually, No, to be honest, that was probably the first the first year that I did that whole sushi wine for myself was probably the first time that I watched Valentine's Day after having previously seen it with my mom.

4:23 I was never a big opponent of Valentine's Day. Yeah, it sounds to me like you weren't You weren't much for dating when you were younger. Yeah, no, it was. It took a bit because I'm trying to think, like, I didn't have like a very serious girlfriend really when I was in high school. I went to dances with dates that I had, but as far as like actually dating somebody, hm, that probably didn't really come until college. I mean there you had like a girlfriend here or there, but like six weeks, eight weeks, it was like the Wonder years and even and even in college. It really wasn't until midway through college that I actually kind of started taking dating seriously. But at that at that same time too, like I had a lot of heartbreak and shit to learn and go through to grow as a person. You alone, me alone, no one else, only me, just you pal.

5:16 Yeah. No, I I was always I I'm this may or may not shock you, but I've always been a romantic. Always. I always had a crush. Almost always. It was a secret. I mean we're talking elementary school, middle school. I always had a crush and it was always like a moderate secret, and I would always try to hint. On Valentine's Day, when you had to give the Valentines to everybody, I would always pick like the best card. I remember, I this just kind of came be me as we're talking about this. I do remember that there was a point where I took the writing on Valentine's to me personally and in the sense of like people would write something. I'm trying to think there was a there was a girl named Mary. I'm not gonna give her last name, but there was no give that in her address now, but she had wrote like something along the lines of like your cool, like stay cool, Like it was something along those lines, and I took it like she only wrote that to me. She wrote that on every single fucking.

6:13 Balance, like stay cool was just thought. It was just for me. Wow, you were like, well, I am cool therefore. And I'm also the guy that I remember back like when I was super young. Like one of the jokes that I have between my grandparents and my family and I was that I had thirty six girlfriends. That was that was just the number. Like once I'm like, your grandpa asked you, like, oh you know that anybody any any cute girls? Whatnot? Thirty six was the number that I thirty six produced, so not quite forty two, not quite forty two. See, I was always fine with Valentines. My early twenties were a very single period for me, on and off. And the funny thing looking back is I would occasionally get on the bandwagon of the whole like f Valentine's Day.

6:59 I had one friend and who I won't name, who was so anti Valentines that he used to throw a party that he called the FVD Party. That's funny, and well it's extra funny because now he's like married and loves you know, Valentine. Well and they're married with no they're two dinks, you know, duel income, no kids, so it's just you know, oh boy, I bought her flowers for this, and I bought this thing, and on Christmas I got her at freaking I don't know, I don't know what people like, Yeah, that's fair, but it's funny because yeah, he was so intense about it because he was chronically single until almost thirty, so he was very very angry about it. And I used to be the one that would make people even matter because they'd be like, fuck Valentine's Day, right, And I'd be like, you could just say you're lonely, It's okay to be lonely.

7:46 Like to give you perspective on how much learning growing you know, one had to do. Just just me specifically, of course, Well yeah, I remember like my first like wouldn't call it serious, but like actually like we agreed to like be boyfriend girlfriend was in junior high and I think that lasted all of two weeks. I think she broke up with me right before dance or something along those lines. Nice. One of the best stories that I can add on to that with that relationship was I had a phase where I wrote poems and I wrote her a poem specifically, and the teacher, who I will not name, will just call him mister L went through her shit one day while she was in the class, found that read it out to the class. And then I find this out right as the class is letting out, because everybody is laughing in the hallway, and I don't know why until I'm told.

Some fine way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Yeah, So it's just like I think, I think it just kind of comes with the territory of either somebody has had like really unpleasant experience with love and hates it because of that, or just hates it because it's just that popular holiday that everybody likes to spoil one another. It's popular to hate when you're single. Yes, I've never had a single friend who is vehemently against Valentine's Day remain that way when they were in a relationship.

Yeah, but again I used to always just lean into the just say you lonely, and today reminds you you lonely. Like every day should be that way. And I'm like, yes, just like every day you should give gifts to everybody in your fucking life. Every day you should celebrate that somebody was born. No motherfucker, we got we got taxes to pay, we got rent to pay, we got a mortgage to maintain, we got a we got a whole life. The entire point of holidays, the entire point of special dates, is to allow us to live our lives, but not forget to celebrate.

It seems like I was always a fan of the birthday week birthday week mis understandable, but literally I've seen more friends in the last couple of years be like, it's my birthday month. I played a couple of Valentine's Day shows back when my band was playing. I remember one time we played the Brewery. Yeah, I played the Brewery twice and replaced to play a show back then, they gave you a cut of the bar upstairs. They did, you could make a you could make a pretty penny, and I remember I had a heart vest my mother made and when we we only had two love songs at that point. So when we played them, I threw condoms at the crowd. But as I was throwing them and people were like catching them and laughing, I was like, check the expiration date of those, because those are right out of my drawer. Was this Tallywacker Express one of the shows that one of them was me and when I was a duo. Because I'm trying to think of a love song from your first two albums, and the only one that comes to mind, even though it's not a love song is drunk Girl.

It was back when I slept on a couch in my own bedroom. Yeah, that's how I know, by the way, that the women who were with me loved me because I had no bed, so they kept showing up anyway, that's fair. They must have.

I don't know if this show's ready for that story, so we'll save it. For another week actually cover Jason takes Manhattan, which will probably happen at some point. Yeah, we did just come back from watching Companion at the theater and I really liked it a lot. I had a great time with it. I have to say impressed with the team from Barbarian. They're sophomore outing.

Have you heard that about the directors where it's like your second movie. Like I remember I worked with one director and when we were making his second movie, he actually said to me, I'm so afraid of the sophomore slump. And I was like, who cares? Like, I just want to make a second movie. Like if you make your second movie and then you're not as happy with it as you'd like, let's make a third. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was like, I really don't want it to be a software slump. He was like, I'm gonna write more characters and more locations because I really don't want it to be a sophomore slump. And I was like, okay, oh my god.

15:11 So Companion, As I was asking you just about the leagueuse, I thought she was the girl from Talk to Me. No, she's Rainy in Valentine's Day? What the girl from the Little Girl? Yes, that is incredible, ladies and gentleman. The young Indian girl in Valentine's Day that we'll be talking about someday shortly whenever I feel like it was in Companion we just watched around that she was a supporting lead. Yeah. I mean, there aren't that many characters in the film to begin with, and she was a major one. That that's hilarious. That's bizarre. What are the odds? The best part is if you had said to me in the theater as we were watching, you'd been like, I think that's the little Indian girl from from the movie we just watched. I would have been like, I think you're racist, David.

The second trailer is the one that blows everything apart. Well, I know that it's on the TV spots because Michelle, my buddy Michelle from a from Monthly Spooky, She said she knew that the film was about a jail broken sex Robot from Just Internet commercials and commercials on TV. IMDb says a billionaire's death sets off a chain of events for Iris and her friends during a weekend trip to his lakeside of state.

Well, I mean, yeah, yeah, the stocks, the bonds, but they should add and that's what we'll find in the deleted scenes on the Blu rays, all these scenes about the stocks and oh, of course, but no, it was a very fun film from the director of Barbarian, and it's a psychological thriller with some gore. It's a horror movie. Yeah about without I mean, it won't give away that much to say it's it's about a sex robot, a companion robot. Not from the director of Barbarian. Wait what, No, it's not just Zach Gregor. No, it's it's Drew Hancock.

It's the poster said from the creators or yeah, well, I mean it was the team there. Yeah, yeah, but.

18:04 Yeah it is Sophie Thatcher's Jack Way, Lucas Gage. It's a trip of a film. You will not be able to predict where it goes for one. No, No, generally speaking, I would say it's completely unpredictable and. A genuinely satisfying conclusion as well. Yeah, no, very very good film. Yeah, it's already doing pretty damn well at the box office. Ten million dollar budget reported, it's done fifteen million, and we saw it the Tuesday after opening weekend, So hopefully it'll just keep going and much like Barbarian. Hopefully the good word of mouth ye will expand it because Barbarian was a truly shocking It was hit, I mean it was, it deserved it. But the trailers made no sense I mean to what the movie was. Yeah, which would have been hard to get in the trailer anyway. But the word of mouth was so strong. I mean I remember when we walked out of it, we were like, holy crap. Barbarian was wild.

18:53 So no companion, absolutely worth your time. I would give Barbarian the whiplash effect that I had the first time I watched Cobweb to get perspective, hmmm. See, I think Cobweb I at least knew like it's in a spooky house. Yeah, I mean Barbarian makes it seem like it's going to be some kind of cat and mouse kind of thing. Yeah. And it's not even vaguely that it's it's so intricate and bizarre. Speaking to Airbnb, and to give an honorable mention for another movie, One Bedroom is making the rounds again. A lot of people are catching it. Good. That's a great that's a great one. Yeah. But that talk about a film that like it takes forever in a good way, but it takes forever to give you anything satisfying. Yeah, after it really kicks you and drags you through the dirt and again every chance agains non stuff. But that all being said, I mean I feel bad because, like I feel like the best thing I can say about Companion is just that you should really go see it. Yeah. The performances are great. The ethical dilemmas of the film are really interesting. It's it's funny because I just did a podcast Alienating the Audience with Andrew Heaton and we talked about Subservience, the the movie with Megan Fox, the Netflix AI horror movie basically where she plays a subservient robot who lives in your home and she starts seducing and terrorizing her owner. Which I thought that movie was a lot of fun. It's an action sci fi kind of thing. You still haven't seen it, right, No, I'm not loser. It was funny.

Instead of it being a robot meant to do things, but it decides it wants to screw you. This is a robot that's meant to screw you, that starts killing people. It's really a great one, and there are little flourishes. I will say, if I had to give it any negative feedback, it would be I didn't feel like and maybe I'll change my mind if I watch it again. I didn't feel like the writers cared very much about the science fiction element. Some of the choices, and this happens a lot with movies that involve like artificial intelligence and algorithms and whatever. Some of it didn't really make any sense. Some of the choices that the. Machines would make. No, no, I'm talking about Companion. That would be my no. No.

Companion is a is a smart film by and large, but I felt like there were some moments that it would take a lot of gymnastics to figure out how the machine got to some point. Well no, how it reasoned to certain things. But there were also moments that I thought were very very inspiring in that realm as well. Yeah, so Companion is absolutely worth your time. Mean it's not you. No, you have the WiFi for it. My Samsung TV doesn't play them in four K, My PS five doesn't play them in four K, and my Roku doesn't play them in four K. They play in HD every time.

So it ticked me off because I have had great luck with Netflix, great luck with Amazon Prime crackers.

I mean, I had an incident where I had a terminator to Digital Code and it said HD on the box but it was SD. And this was a long time ago, obviously, but I contacted support, and you know what they had me do. They said, can you show us a photo of the of the thing? So it took a picture of it and it says HD on it and they upgraded me the end. So yeah, it sounds like with the Surviving the game it was a typo because that was way before the Blu ray came out, so there probably wasn't an HD master.

No, No, the marketing may they may have. They may have fucked the marketing up a little bit. But no, listeners, if you have never seen the movie Labor Day, we implore you to see Labor Day.

I saw Gone Girl there, Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was the fourth time I'd seen Gone Girl. Dave went to the wrong dan Berry for some reason, he thought we'd go to the Danberry, nowhere near where I. Was, where hear what you would. But I sat down I watch Gone Girl. You sat down to watch Gone Girl with your friends, and then we met a proxy.

But when Danburry Dollar Saver was around, because COVID helped it die faster, it was amazing because if I was and this was during a time period when my career had turned to filmmaking full time and I found myself with a lot of available time. So then I'd be like, well, I'm gonna go to the dan Berry and I'll see literally anything anything if I haven't seen it before Labor Day was there. I didn't know anything about it, but it was the only film showing that I had not seen. Labor Day is a psychological drama, thriller, romance, romance.

I was having a I was having symptoms that were not traditional for gallbladder, but I was having symptoms that were very common in pancreatic cancer. You knew about that, knew this. Yeah, it was scary. It was scary, and I tried my best.

43:45 But one of the things I did this is going to shock people who know me or listen to the show, is I lean into humor when I'm scared or worried or whatever. And you came over after I had had the scan, but before i'd gotten the results, because I gotten the scan on a Friday and the results came on Monday, and then my doctor called me the next day. But I was checking the chart, you know, and I was scared. For those who don't know, pancreatic cancer has an incredibly low survival rate. And my doctor told it to me, not like it wasn't like you're gonna need to sit down. He just kind of said, like, it seems like this and this and this, but we need to rule out pancreatic cancer as fast as possible. And I was like, wh wha, wha, wha, whoa, whoa, whoa what yeah, what did you just say? What did you just say? The fuck? You know? So we're watching movies.

44:31 I think it was like Saturday, you came over to hang out her Sunday or so, and I'm waiting. I mean, this was a while ago, this was eight years ago something like that. And I had never been I had never had like tests at a hospital. I had never had an ultrasound done. You know, it was all new to me. And I thought, for the levity sake m that we should watch nothing but movies about terminal or potentially terminal illnesses. So I was like, let's watch fifty to fifty, Let's watch Still Alice. And eventually you got sick of it. You were kind of like, let's watch something different, though, And I forget exactly. I don't know if you remember this whole exchange, but I forget. I forget exactly what I was. I was needling, you was teasing or whatever, and you said something like, you know, fuck you man, and I said, and I was just trying to be funny, but I understand it. But I said, is that the last thing you ever want to say to me? And I mean, I hope I'm not embarrassing you.

God, I remember seeing Still Alice by myself at like ten in the morning at the theater and just crying the whole movie.

Now, whether you want to be a snob and say, like, well, you know, the Rock isn't a very good actor, sure, but you know what he is good at. He's good at being engaging.

But one of the things I like about Love Actually so much that this film didn't quite do, which is fine, is Love Actually would also really make you feel for the people who hurt people, even if it's because they're cheating, even if it's because they're not being good husbands or wives or boyfriends or girlfriends, you still like they made sure that they were humanized enough that you would be like, man, why are you doing this? And then when it's over, you're like, god, damn, I feel bad for everybody. And they were really good at that. In this movie, the couple of people who kind of get their come up, and they just get their come up and we'll talk it. Yeah, you don't, you know, talk about you don't feel totally heartbroken when some people ended up alone because you're like, well you were kind of addicted one of a we'll talk about it. Yeah, yeah, well, I mean, you know.

So Romeo Midnight voiced by the great Paul Williams, by the way, and he is basically telling us that it's Valentine's Day. You know, it's a day of magic. You know, it makes ship make things happen. And we are just in the streets of la just watching it bustling. We're seeing people working on construction sites, We're seeing people driving to traffic, We're seeing really cute little mingling happening.

51:31 Yeah, it's like I like it because it's almost intentionally like parodyingcase, Like you see like two construction workers, one's a guy who wants a girl, and they end up just like holding on each other for a second and being like, oh, it's it's funny because it's like, no matter which way you look, even at like one of the most male domin especially you know, fifteen years ago, Yeah, one of the most male dominated places you could work, and there's a man and woman in love. You know, it's it's it's very it's very charming, but it's also like it's almost like at that beginning, it turns the like loveiness up to eleven to kind of get a little bit of a chuckle out of you, but also to kind of set a tone that they're going to they're going to be brought with a lot of the way they depict things, which I really enjoy.

Well, and they definitely gave us an la that if you were a fan of movies from the nineties and early aughts, you remembered and have this weird affection for a Los Angeles that you don't really see as much anymore. Well, in part because who can afford to film there? Also true, so it I agree, they really like leaned into the romanticness of it. Yeah. One of my favorite locations in the film is they are on this little bridge that basically it goes across some water to two different apartment complexes, and they use the bridge that's not as often used, and in the background you can see the bridge that was in a nightmare Elm Street.

But yeah, not for a bit. But it's there's just I don't I've never I never had that. Even though I grew up with dreams of movie making, I always kind of looked at Los Angeles as like a place you'd be forced to be, not a place you wanted to be. There's movies that glamorize both LA and New York, and there's movies that do not well.

I landed in Burbank. If you fly into Burbank on like we flew Jet Blue to save money, you don't even go straight to the terminal. You walk downstairs and then walk across the ground into the airport. So it's a little bit more regional feeling, I guess. And I was just like, Wow, this is not good, not good air. And then of course.

And he's laying there, she's still asleep. He walks over while she's still asleeping and puts the ring on her finger, basically, which is adorable.

Yeah, because while Kutcher is known for being like the goofball Kelso character from that seventy show and stuff, that honestly is not what he's good at. No, actually good at being a straight man. I think that's why the Michael Kelso character he had to be so big and be like oh bird all that, because actually I think he's really subtles not the right word, but he's very subdued. Ye, Like he's the kind of guy that would like, like he's really good at like hearing bad news and then going well, I guess we'll do this, and you know, he's like he's that guy, and he's that in this movie a ton, but so George Lopez popping and and being George Lopez is a perfect foil to so good.

What do you do for Valentine's Day, et cetera, et cetera. So he's pretty much against it, but he has no choice. Well, I mean it's almost like that's his boss, Like that is his boss. Yes, So he decides that he has to go and do this, and you know, she's like, you know, make it happy, make it romantic, full of love. You know, it's Valentine's Day. And that's what we keep hearing in the movie over and over again. It's Valentine's Day, It's Valentine's Day. It's Valentine's Day. There's a magic in that old silk heart. They're that old silk. I know that it would be like, you know, a heart shape, but I just imagine it's like an accurate heart, but made of silk.

We don't really get much of a hint of what's going on with mom. We we don't know if she's passed, We don't know if you know, she's out of town.

And so we were gonna have basically camp in a public parking lot of Hobartreina and then go to school the next day. Long story short, some people got really stupid and snuck over into the Troy Public Pool, climbed the fence and started stealing chairs from it too, so that we could sit, and the police got called. So before that had really escalated, my buddy who I will not name, and I went in my car and we went to go drop him back off at his house because he was just like, yeah, man, go ahead and take me home, like this is this is lame.

We see the stewardess come up put a blanket on them, and we also see that the sun's coming in the plane and Bradley doesn't want to disturb her, so he tries to basically shut the window with his foot.

Again, there's a lot of hints in this movie, but we don't get any everything until the end. Well, she she says immediately he is. He's incredibly special.

You can kind of be aloof and chill about it because we're just kind of just starting to see each other. Or you can do the smart thing, which is just lean into it and be like, happy Valentine's Day, Beautiful, here's stuff, let's go out to eat. Yeah.

So that's when Paula, you know, tells that she's taken notice of Liz. And that's when we also cut to a beach where we meet Sean Jackson played by Eric Dane, who is a professional football player who some are suspecting maybe ending his career because he's kind of become a free agent at this point.

And he's like, yeah, I'm recently broken up and the problem I've seen the problem, and the problem was me, So we'll.

Yeah, but it's a great way to kind of do the whole big city, small small city, big city, small world the way I would describe it. Well, And you've got Sean Jackson re rending him and this is one of my favorite scenes because you know, he realizes that he's a delivery truck and he's like, you know, I don't understand why people get flowers, you know, why I can just go buy him and give hi himself.

Al Carmi Carmine sticks with Morley's side, so you know she and she basically tells him that, you know, I I'm not ready for this, like I this is this is too fast to me, Like I have a life I want to do. I can't you know, I can't do this. This is beautiful but for someone else. Well, and there's a great part where he says, like, did you even consider, you know, actually marrying me? And she's like, of course I did. Yeah, And it's actually one of my favorite parts of the whole movie. But then she says like, but don't you want a woman who doesn't have to consider it? Yeah? Don't you want somebody who just just knows that they want to. That's a really wonderful moment where you get that sense that like she does, she does care. Yeah, and she's just kind of got a clean house now and get out of.

We also had a scene where they they were George Lopez and him were talking and he basically says, you know, what should I do about the situation with Julia, should I tell her? You know? So now his life's mission is to tell her what's happening. By getting into the airport. We get a great scene with Larry Miller. We get a great sequence of the post nine to eleven attempt to tell somebody before they get on a plane not to so he runs away, He runs off, leaving his shoes with TSA's. It's a great sequence, and he basically gets her to not get on the plane. But now she wants to find out for real what's going on. She goes to the hospital, and I love this part because she gets to the hospital and and just asks like the doctor is he married? Yeah, And they're kind of nervous where they say like.

And then the older nurse comes up to her and just tells her where they're at, yes, which I like that little moment too, especially because nurses are that way. Yeah they can be, they can't be, and rightfully, so, I mean he's too timing screw him. So she goes to the bistro, and just so happens that, you know, Harrison and his wife are sitting down to a nice dinner. Julia puts on a server outfit, comes around the table and basically hands him his ass subtly. It's so great, and and and so as that happens, we also see Toafer Grace and his lady. Are they at the same restaurant. They're a different one, well they're a different one, but we see them on their Valentine's date. But because he clearly got last minute he got last minute reservations, they're sitting at a long table with strangers.

1:36:32 The strangers are interrupting all of their exchanges. Also, it's very clear to for Grace is very uncomfortable because they have been together for not a very long time. But also, and this is something else I like too. He just kind of had this feeling in his gut that she was keeping something from him, yeah, which is her phone sex operators and stuff. And at one point she leaves dinner to go do a phone sex call. He confronts her, catches her doing it, thinks she has a boyfriend that she's hiding from him. But then it's a pretty it's a nice scene because well he's a little mean but granted, but because at one point says like, I'd say I'll call you, but I can't anybody. But then the second he says that, he's like, oh, I should not have said that. And I can't even hate him though, because he was being lied to, and there's no greater cruelty than somebody you care about or somebody you're trying to open up to lying to you. And while all this is happening, we also had this incident where because there's a lot to get, there's a lot where where the young woman, the one who who who didn't lose your virginity, we find out that the grandparents that she babysits the little boys, yeah, and accidentally reveals that there was some infidelity in their marriage because because they're both very he the husband or the grandfather, is very proud that he's only ever been with his wife.

1:37:49 Yeah. So she ends up revealing to him that there was an affair a long time ago. Short lived with a business partner. But she wanted him to know before they renewed their vows. But now he's stormed off yeah, a lot is. Edison's flowers are one of the ones that got injured or one of the ones I got damaged in the delivery. So his flowers never show up for the school, so he's distraught. He goes to soccer practice. He's playing with this little girl, Rainy, who we mentioned that was in companion the night. Yeah, yeah, this little cute Indian girl. And you know, we see that he's love sick again. But they leave and and end up going but he decides at one point to sneak out when Estelle and Edgar have their they're out and everything with the infidelity, and that's when Gray sees him goes after him. He ends up going to Siena Bouquet because at this point Reid has hopefully tried to help Julie as much as he can. But he goes to the shop and he's like, mister Yomi Flowers so read, out of the kindness of his heart, grabs the silver bouquet box.

Yeah, and just so happens to be where I can't think of the name now shit, Kara is having the anti Valentine. And that's a really sweet scene too. I mean, the movie has a lot of sweet moments in here. This is a great well, I've got it. We've got to talk about freaking Julia's arrival because she wasn't gonna make it to the anti Balanti's Day party. And this is at this point, Kara is the only one at her own party, sitting down, she's getting ready to leave.

Because my first thought was like I would have never known, but he showed up with that water buffalo hat on. You know, Flintstone's reference right there for you. So we also mentioned that Kelvin had to go to the Sean Jackson press conference that he had called, and Sean Jackson announces that he's gay, and he's gay, he's gonna play and everything. So Kelvin gets this big scoop and everything. Kelvin ends up showing up to the Anti Valentine's Day because him and Kara had a little thing.

Yeah, And there's also a little there were some other little hints too, like when he's talking to Jessica Alba and she's like, you know, how many kids you want? And then when he's seeing his friend being a school teacher handling children, you see that little moment where he's like, wow, she's she's wonderful. Yeah, so now he's like, maybe I should put something on the line, especially since we're both newly single and just kind of never really had it happen. Yeah, and their moment is really one of my favorites in the movie because when they finally kiss, they both go, yeah, that was weird.

It's cute, and it's very very cute. Yeah, And I also love. That scene because we also get we also get such a feel for what a great dude read is because he's literally chopping the stems off these roses and tossing them. Into the water hoping someone will find. Them and see him. Yeah, it's just a little thing like that. Yeah. And meanwhile, Toafer Grace ends up going to the Hollyomit and it turns out they run out of tickets, so he ends up giving his extra ticket to Edgar. The last one line, he's the first they cut off. Yeah, and as they're watching the movie, we realize the movie stars Sir McLain. Yeah, and then she shows up, so Tofer kind of exits stage right. We have a beautiful reunion between them. Taufer decides that maybe things, you know, maybe he was too harsh, especially with only knowing her for two weeks. Yeah, you know, maybe he should be a little kinder. But then we also get a reveal where Bradley Cooper helps he helps, Oh gosh, oh, oh, Kate, Kate, Kate. Yeah.

1:42:55 He helps her get to where she's going. He says like, it'll take you an hour to get there on the shuttle. After all that traveling, I've got a car. My driver will take you anywhere you want. Player, and that that's why he came out so that their love could be it could be could be known, because the idea of being a secret would be harsh. Well, he even walks in the house and he's like, you know, you saw it, and he's like, yeah, and that's it. That's that's what we get of that, And it's just that little thing is perfect amount. Yeah. Yeah, And I think I think it's pretty obvious that the reason Bradley Cooper's character felt like he was the problem was because he is the one that didn't want to be a secret. So now they they've kind of had that realization. There's also a great part where he's saying, like, I don't care that I'm the first openly gay professional player.

The little boy who was love sick is is her son. He was you know, his mom's been in the military. That's why she's gone, and that's why he's living in his grandparents parents. And and earlier on after he'd been rejected by his teacher. Rightfully, so she does tell him you should give this to Rainy Rainy, and Rainy loves that. And she's the only eighth grade that has a frank zap on her eye.

A handmade valance. Nothing beats a handmade Valentine and it's full of the photos she was taking because even though they were just starting to see each other, they really were connecting. Yeah, And he takes Estelle's word because she finds Edgar in the cemetery. When they have that meet and everything, she basically says, you know you're gonna forgive me because you know we're in love, and people who are in love see each other for the good and the bad.

1:45:18 And he goes off, does all that, and even at that point too, as he's given her the card, her phone rings, she answers it and goes Sugar, can't come to the phone right now, She's got to make love to her boyfriend on Valentine's. And then you know, she basically tells me that this is what I like. I like simple. And as they're kissing, we see a band, like a three person band come into the apartment and to for Grace is just. No, no, no no, and they just and the one in the middle, Gary Marshall, it's so good. It's so good. He was so disappointed. And the one moment that's a little harsh, Jessica Alba's character checks into the hotel where everybody's eating dog, and we end up seeing her alone with the dog walk in the street. Yeah, just walking. And then we see the surgeon alone with a pizza box and I can't tell if it's his bedroom or a hotel. It looked like a hotel.

No, but it's a wonderful, wonderful film. Everything ties up in a neat little bow, even if it's a little messy. Yeah at times. And even Kelvin had as good he had a good report too, and him and Carrien into hooking up too.

Oh yeah, like the one one of my favorites is the little girl gets placed on the counter at the flower shop and so she answer heed to two nuns and she's.

He seeks to rediscover his manhood with the help of a newfound friend, Jacob learning to pick up girls at bars again. A ensemble cast. And a great one and one that really like hits you Yeah the best way. Second recommendation one I actually saw in theaters. I haven't seen in a while, but I love this movie just for the simplicity of how people can relate to. This is twenty ten. She's out of My League. An average Joe meets the perfect woman, but his lack of confidence in the influence of his friends and family begins to pick away at the relationship. Super fun movie. Not a lot of people saw it. I don't think I don't think it did super well, and it's very underrated in mind.

This is nerd stuff, but they shot entirely photography lenses, which I just, you know, I think is really cool for a movie that looks as great as it is. It's simple, but it really put Sallner and making Blair on the map. And now they're both, you know, very in the world of show business making. Blair's been in freaking Clint Eastwood movies and he just directed the Toxic Avenger remake and done something. You have not seen Green Room, or you haven't even seen Rebel Ridge or even making Blair's movie that I just watched. I don't feel at home in this world anymore.
