Marius Borg Høiby Trial Turns Shocking as Witness Says She Looked “Completely Unconscious”

The first woman to give evidence in the trial of Marius borg Hoebe has told an Oslo court of her betrayal and shock after police showed her videos which they say depict him sexually assaulting her while she was incapacitated. Giving evidence behind closed doors on Tuesday, the woman said she had no memory of what happened after a brief, consensual sexual encounter at an after party held at his parents' home outside Oslo in twenty eighteen. When she returned to court on Wednesday, she told judges she believed she may have been drugged. She said the encounter began consensually but ended quickly at her request, after which there was what she described as a big black hole in her memory. She was adamant she had not fallen asleep naturally, and said she had no recollection of anything further until police contacted her years later. Asked by prosecutors whether she had been awake or asleep in the videos shown to her by police, she told the court she appeared to be completely unconscious.

1:15 It doesn't even look like unbreathing. As whether she believed she had been drugged, she replied, that's what I think. The footage was recovered from Hoibe's phone during a police investigation launched following his arrest in August twenty twenty four. Journalists were not permitted to view the images or videos, but on Wednesday, the court was shown recordings of the woman's reaction when police first confronted her with the material. All four women who have accused Hoibi of rape alleged they were either asleep or otherwise incapacitated at the time of the alleged assaults. Prosecutors say each incident occurred after initially consensual sexual contact. Hoiby, who is twenty nine, denies four counts of rape, but has admitted several of the thirty five for other charges he faces, including transporting drugs and speeding. He has not been accused of drugging any of the women. Appearing in court for the first time on Tuesday, he was seen visibly shaking. It later emerged that he had received hospital treatment overnight rather than returning directly to custody following his arrest on Sunday for an alleged assault. The defendant is expected to take the stand himself later in the proceedings. His defense counsel has argued that he views the encounters as completely normal in voluntary sexual relations, and that the court must determine whether the women were unable to resist and whether he should have understood their condition. The trial is being conducted under unusually strict conditions. Photography of the defendant and of the women who accuse him as banned both inside and outside court.

2:48 While the first sessions took place behind closed doors, a small number of journalists were permitted to follow proceedings from an adjoining room. State prosecutor Stirler Henrix Bow told the court that Weeby would be treated no differently from any other Norwegian citizen. Defense lawyer Ellen Holliger and Dense countered that her client had already been subject to prejudicial treatment, describing the media coverage as a tsunami of negative publicity. She told the court it would be strange if someone exposed to such scrutiny over a long period did not feel they were losing control of their life and destiny. On Wednesday, Hoeby took the stand and broke down in tears as he spoke about his upbringing and his behavior. He told the court he had lived with an extreme need for recognition from an early age. I'm mostly known as my mother's son, not anything else, he said, so I've had an extreme need for recognition my whole life.

3:40 He told the court that his need had manifested itself in excess, and that manifested itself in a lot of sex, a lot of drugs, and a lot of alcohol, he said. He also lashed out at the press, saying he had been harassed since the age of three, when his mother's relationship with the Crown Prince became public. Few can relate to the life I have led, he said, a lot of parties, alcohols and drugs. He denied that videos found on his phone showed acts of rape, saying if I had thought I had material that showed an assault, I would never have kept that material. Referring to one of the alleged incidents, he told the court, I don't remember taking them, but like we had sex fully awaken willingly, I don't remember very much about the sex either. On Wednesday, the Royal Palace confirmed that the Crown Princess had postponed a private trip until further notice, without providing additional details more in Just a Moment. Crown Princess metamorit is facing renewed public scrutiny after appearing in the latest release of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, with a new pole suggesting significant opposition to her future role as Queen of Norway.

4:47 A survey conducted on behalf of TV two found that forty seven point six percent of respondents do not believe Crown Princess Metamory should become Norway's next queen. The poll questioned eight hundred and thirty f people and was carried out on Monday, shortly after the publication of the newly released Epstein related files. Those documents include emails exchanged between the Crown Princess and Epstein. Among them is a message sent under the name h K h Kron Prinssen in which she referred to twenty twelve wedding of Grand Duke Guilloume of Luxembourg and Stephanie de Llanoi as boring. In the email, she wrote, boring wedding was like some kind of old movie where you know the characters and not hanging around for much longer books more books. Another email from twenty twelve shows the princess asking Epstein whether it would be inappropriate to suggest wallpaper depicting two naked women carrying a surfboard for her then fifteen year old son, Marius Paul Hoyby, who is currently on trial for multiple offenses.

5:51 It has been reported the Crown Princess Madamerie was friends with Epstein and stayed at his home in Palm Beach, Florida for four days while he was not present. Statement released following the publication of the files, the Princess expressed regret over the association. She said Jeffrey Epstein is responsible for his actions. She continued, I must take responsibility for not checking Epstein's background better and for not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was. I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment and I regret ever having any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing. The Crown Princess is reported to appear hundreds of times in documents data between twenty eleven and fourteen that were released by the US Department Justice.

6:38 Authorities have stress that appearing in the files does not indicate any wrongdoing. Norway's Royal Household has disabled comments across much of its official social media presence. On Tuesday evening, it emerged that commenting had been turned off on the Instagram account, which represents the Norwegian Royal House. Comments have been disabled on recent posts, including photographs from Crown Prince Harkin and Crown Princess Meta Marie's visit to Frederick Stard Library to markets one hundredth and adversary. Commenting was also switched off on a video showing a diplomatic dinner for the Diplomatic Corps hosted by King Harold and Queen Sonja at the Royal Palace, attended by Crown Prince Harkan and Princess Astrid. On Facebook, the Royal Household has restricted who is able to comment on posts. However, comments remain open on a recent post featuring Princess Ingrid Alexandra during her visit to Kirkinnes, where she met students from Tanna Upper Secondary School and drove a dog sledge as part of her trip to Northern Norway. Responding to the criticism, the palaces head of Communications, Guri Varpe, told Doug Bladette in an email.
